Chevy Bolt EV Battery Pack - Low Voltage Wiring Harness
Mar 20, 2024Now let's take a quick look at the low
voltage
harness
that's inside the Chevy Boltbattery
pack
, so I'm going to start on this side, so these two connectors are on the front of thepack
in sort of an orientation. They are slightly different colors, but otherwise they look pretty much the same on the inside. Different numbers of pins there and then let me show you the back. I don't know what the numbers are here. Let me see if you can see it. on the light if you need to replicate these connectors here okay and then also on this end is this little yellow connector and this connector goes to the highvoltage
contactor box which is in the orange boxes on the front of thebattery
pack so this plugs in there and it controls all the contactors and then if you follow this there are these little voltages, sorry not voltages, these are temperature sensors and these little temperature sensors just slide down on the front of each other module of battery approximately uh on the pack to read its temperature and then there's one here and then another one here and then here this is for the last little set of them um there's also a ground terminal and this is connected to the top of the pack on the back near the bms and then these two connectors here um these are the bms connectors the low voltage connectors here and these have their little locking pins um there and this one goes on the passenger side I have it placed here so that's it the front of the pack goes up the driver side and then this is the driver side vms passenger side of the bms and then this goes down the passenger side of the battery and um yeah so this low voltageharness
uh pretty much it's just to connect that connector to the front and the contactors to the bms and then there are very few wires for anything else, this connector goes to the manual service disconnect and it only has two pins on there so just pulling on the service disconnect disconnects it. the back uh the package um voltage uh and then this here is a temperature sensor and then another temperature well another temperature sensor and then the last temperature sensor here and I want to clarify because I think I was a little bit wrong there the full voltage of the package do not pass through this connector, this is just a sensor wire to know that you pulled the manual service disconnect. The actual service disconnect has a very large fuse which I will cover now.
