getting

ready to go to Rome, our flight boards right now we're flying United Economy so I'll show you guys what it looks like, we're just waiting for the tram to come so we can take it to the terminal doors and I'm very excited, what do you think the

first

international flight will be like? I will feel overwhelmed seeing everything new and being able to use those language skills I acquired in college. The place is going to be fine, I think my legs might get a little tired from eight hours of sitting, but we've done six and a half hours from Raleigh to San Diego, we've done it and we can handle it and oh, look at our. The train is here, so we made it on the plane. We are in the central section. There are three hallways in total. There is one on the left that has three seats. Our middle section has four animals. The right section also has three seats. So this is what our get up looks like we have a blanket and a little mini pillow and it's interesting, I've never been on a plane where the bar is right in the middle so I'm straddling one side which is his backpack and we have an exit, I don't know if you can see we have a single exit down here and my side is on the left again.

The premium section looks good, but this is uh. this is what economy class looks like on a United flight to Europe, so it's not terrible, it's not good, but again look at the legroom for someone who's five foot three and she's five foot four, I mean , I can kick my leg and the distance between my knee and The next seat is pretty good, so I don't think we'll have any problems there and look, already on the plane, she has used the charger, like Marcy didn't forget her headphones , but you know, with the newer iPhones they fell apart. of the typical stereo headphone jack and replace it so you can't plug it in here, but they gave you free headphones to use during the trip, so it looks like you know nice little pods, we're flying in the air after about an hour and a half , but so far I think it's going well, she is watching TV with sound, there are many, there are many, many movie and TV selections, more than what she normally watches, I mean pages and pages, which is really good, but now we are preparing. eat in Hemispheres magazine on page four, which isn't actually page four because look at this, there are several ways and they have a full bistro menu on board full of paid and non-paid options that give you a selection in terms of drinks In a united way, these are all complementary drinks, so you have carbonated drinks, you have juice and other types of drinks that you can select from and look at this little note here, this little marketing glass tells us that these items are free on flights between the continental US, Asia, Australia, Europe, Israel, South America and Tahiti which means complimentary beer and mine too and that's really cool so we'll see what our options are available for paid options.

getting

ready to have a snack and I will show you what it looks like in just A minute came for dinner, we could choose between a vegetarian dish, generous chicken and a pasta with red sauce and we both chose the chicken with general sauce, this is what we have here, some vegetables with white rice and the chicken along with a nice little kind of like a nice salad mix here with a little piece of bread and butter to go with it, you have your utensils here and this is what dinner looks like , I forgot to mention what to drink, I have a cup of red wine and a delicious cup of ginger ale and for dessert we have been the dog with a spoon of lemon and soy inside, delicious, so what do you think?

It has a pleasant and warm flavor. very good overall, I'd probably give it an eight out of ten, it has a great flavour, the chicken is not too spicy and I can't stand the spices, it has a nice hint of sweetness and I love the type of bean salad we make. Sorry, sorry, if the individual seats and luggage are in the corner, so we finally bought our cis weekly pass. which allows us unlimited use of all public transportation systems except the airport with this machine. It's a bit confusing, so once you get to the airport you take the leonardo express or the f01 train and then once you get off the train, you'll have to zigzag all the way through the central station, cross the street to where you'll see a site of the subway that says it has a big m and an a and a b, it looks like there's nothing there, but if you walk around the building. then you take about two or three escalators down to the subway to these machines behind me to pay your weekly fare.
It's pretty intuitive, but at least we made it and hopefully, if you come to Rome, you'll know where to go. but now let's get on the trains and get to our hotel quickly. We get to our hotel and we're not ready to check in yet, so we decide to have

pizza

It's hard to be light and filling at the same

time

, but that's exactly what we just ate and I'm so glad we did because now we feel refreshed and have to head back to the hotel to get ready for our bike tour and take a tour. around town, but now we're just hanging out in trestevre or trastevere. I'm not sure how to pronounce it yet, but this is what it looks like behind me, it's a nice idyllic area and there's a guy playing like a guitar. there and we're right on a bridge that crosses the river, which is right behind me, this beautiful river and it's just a beautiful day, I mean, there's barely any clouds in the sky and as nice as it is, we still have to get there to that bike. tour and return to the hotel we took the bus on the way, the buses are a little bumpy, it's not like they don't have electric shocks, so be prepared for a good back massage when you are on the bus. affordable way to get around and pretty reliable so back on the bus we will head back to the hotel and see how this bike tour turns out after eating a belly full of pizza, salad, soft drinks and sparkling water we will see how we do on the bike tour time to check into our room we have a classic room in the hotel this is what it is let's take a look and we're about to take off that's my beautiful bike and marcy is riding hers these bikes are really cool because you can adjust the power level of your e-bike, so every time I pedal and if I press this button more, the level of work that the bike does increases, so I don't have to pedal too hard, just you know, give it a little effort on the pedal, I click the plus button, my bike's effort level increases, and I relax.
It's kind of a cross between a bicycle and a scooter, or an electric scooter, or even a small motorcycle. This bike is really very useful to come to Rome because, as you can see, there are many hills and inclines that we have to overcome. I have my trusty helmet. Let's take this for a spin and we'll all go alone. file and it's night, the weather is so beautiful, it's nice cool, you know, maybe 68 70. visiting

the Trevi Fountain. now we're rolling over to the Spanish stairs here we are the Spanish stairs who are officially not allowed to sit there because honestly people started leaving trash so now it's illegal to sit on the stairs so you'll see police officers with whistles. to let people know that they can't sit there right next to the spanish steps there is a beautiful fountain here we are, right next to the fountain there is a statue dedicated to the virgin mary and if you see that in the background, here we go, so we have, so we have the fountain, the statue of Mary and the Spanish steps, all in one run, also in our things is the great pantheon, which was beautiful.
Pantheon literally means all the gods and around the year 709 they converted it into a church and it still stands today. Rafael is the painter. buried here there is also a lot of history here too this is beautiful as it is still right in front of you you guessed it another obelisk there we go we are back at the hotel now the bike tour was so amazing we rode for three maybe even About four hours around Rome we got to see the sights, we got to hear the history, we took lots of pictures and everyone in the group was so much fun and from all over the world, I think I love meeting new people from different places.
It's really cool, we have an international community together and everyone is in Rome trying to have a good time. We finish our bike tour and return to the hotel. We had quite a mystical trip on the bus we took. We took the wrong bus in the opposite direction and had to find our way back on the subway system, but luckily we had our weekly passes so it didn't cost us extra money, just extra time, but I'm going to go shower because today was a long day. day and we made it, we didn't get terribly lost just a little bit but that's to be expected when I travel as I'm about to take a shower.
Marcy is back here running, as you can see, I'm gathering her things, she ordered. room service I'm not that hungry I don't know if you can see back there but she ordered some prawns and she has a really cute little tray of bread with a dipping sauce and I'm going to eat skinny pop because I'm not that hungry so with our first day in Rome over, it's complete, we survived our first day in Rome, woohoo, and y'all, I'm tired, we woke up early and now we wake up late and morning.
