, now let's talk to Lex about Homecoming Homecoming, a week-long event that brings people together in friendly competitions and sporting events. Each homecoming has its own theme that brings with it dress-up days and fall. just around the corner homecoming theme is halloween with homecoming theme being halloween this is what to expect for monday costume days monday costume theme is color war each class will wear a different color and the class that has the highest percentage of student participation will win here are the colors by class freshmen will wear orange sophomores white juniors red and seniors black Tuesday the 13th the theme Tuesday is scary movie night.

This Halloween activity is a tradition that many people appreciate, so make sure you wear your pajamas. Please note that pajamas must still be school appropriate. Wednesday the 14th. For Wednesday, the theme of the day is t-shirts. T-shirts are a way for people to express their love for their favorite sports teams, so express yourself and don't do it. Don't fight over whose team is better on Thursday the 15th. Thursday's theme is costume day. You can't have a Halloween theme without a dress up day. Bring your favorite costumes and have fun, but make sure it's still school appropriate on Friday the 16th.

Friday's theme is free spirit. On this day use as much rebel gear as you have. We love seeing our school colors in the hallways and at sporting events, speaking of which, there is a football game after school so come out and cheer on our team. We face Tri-County on homecoming Saturday. We will have our homecoming dance. We will spend a couple of hours with friends and enjoy music. The dance will be from eight to ten and the cost of admission will be two dollars. ern music department has a The new band teacher and joining us today is Miss Spurlock, what are you planning to do this season?

I plan to do most of the same performances we've always done, except for the Isma marching contest because I couldn't get us for the paperwork. still, but other than that, we're going to do all the home football games, we're going to do all the men's college basketball games with the pep band, we're going to do a smorgasbord for the Christmas concert, which in actually it's really It's fun for families to come visit us for about an hour before our presentation and you can enjoy light refreshments at that time as well and the visits and then we will have in the spring alone and together for everyone who wants to do it. alone, I'll have a little ensemble and we'll also go to my band's contest and do sight reading, which I'm really excited about.

It's like literally my favorite part of being a music teacher is sight reading and I have a great group to work with that already has wonderful foundations, so it's only going to get better from there. What is this year's marching show? This year's marching show consists of I Want to Hold Your Hand by the Beatles, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and also I'm Never Gonna Give Up on You by Rick Astley, so my theme for this year was going to be a touch from the heart. I also wanted to do a lot of basically 80s music because we should know everything, but I'm honestly just figuring it out. that music is so far out of your reach that only the rick astley song that you know, so we will rick roll successfully with the crowd, what are you most excited about this season?

I must say that I am very excited because it is my first band that I have to direct. I've been in several marching bands as a guard, as a third base drummer, but I've never had to deal with all the administrative parts and stuff like that. Keep your toes on the steps. it's 22 inches and a part of that kind of stuff, so it's really cool to start working on liking those building blocks that everyone really needs to understand before they can go. What impressed you the most? This season, the skills of the seniors. As a coach, um, that's a trick question, um, I would say I'm determined to make really good people when I coach, so it's not always about wins and losses, it's about making it fun and enjoyable and making good human beings that inspire you, um, who. He inspires me well, my previous coaches that I had in high school inspired me, but I would also say that Mr. Bell is a big inspiration to me in terms of coaching for sure, how do you think this season is going to end? Oh, I think. Personally, I'll win with a state championship, but I think he'll finish.

I guess a good way to put it is to end with us winning the last game we played, so I think it will end with a lot of fun. I think we've had a really fun season so far, as long as we keep having fun and doing what we do on the court I think we'll be great too, who would you say on your team has the best attitude? Um, my high school football coach, Coach Holtzma, who is, uh, I'm still training with us. I brought him here a couple of years ago and also my father, his father, was a very successful coach in Vermont, so I had a lot of conversations between my Dad and Coach Halsema really inspired me to be a coach and have an impact on the lives of Young. How do you think she will end this season? Who would you say on your team has the best attitude?
