Crash Testing LEGO Cars!

Apr 05, 2024
today we are going to

crash

test

lego

cars

with

lego

crash

test simulator, here we come and we will give you official ratings based on how well you can protect ooblot or lego crash test dummy. Also, this video is sponsored by Shopify, but More on them later, First I need to build a Lego crash test simulator. We're going to have this thing that's 160 poles long, so the first step is to build a track, so we're not even halfway there. What we're going to do is we're going to have a gap in the middle and then we're going to have a track that goes through this with a little spike that's going to stick out and push the car towards the object that we're going to hit.

So I'm going to turn this whole thing over and then close it into two halves. Then we can tile the outside top. We're going to build walls underneath using gray bricks so it really locks in and is super strong. but right now there is our Track, as you can see this is the biggest thing I have ever built in Brick Science History, now we need to put it together using tiles okay, so now that we have our Track, we need to build walls and actually add plates underneath of this, so we are going to build a brick base to make this really sturdy and for that we are going to need a lot of bricks, fortunately I ordered around 4 000 of them from abroad, which means that this base is going to be sturdy and tall, so let's throw this in boxes.

More Interesting Facts About,

crash testing lego cars...

In fact, we can do this more easily. look at this. one to two-by-two bricks a bunch of two-by-fours four two-by-four brick bins a lot over here too the next step is to flip these Let's do this and start building a brick wall outside that's too tall for we can put it together and actually make the barn and then we'll start working on the mechanism inside, let's start by just looking at that, that's a lot. strong grandma guys, now I'm going to take my Technic bricks and on the inside of these I'm just going to add a bunch of Technic pieces that are too wide to really fit together since I'm overlapping each one. one of these bricks so that none of them are alone, you can see that each layer is offset by at least two studs and then on the outside I'm creating this cool Arch design, but this is pretty easy so far, now we can repeat it and Do it again on the other side of the track that way we can connect it and then add the track that will actually push the

cars

towards the object.

Oh my gosh, there's only like three quarters left, we actually have to build one more section. here, which is a sturdy brick box that will basically hold all the weight that is going to be put into it, as you can see, if we turn it around, we have a wall right here, we are going to create a little track using a plate that crosses. and tiles, so we need to create something like a little cart that will cross and slide between here. We'll put a plate underneath with tiles, so that's the next step. Could you please stop fighting there?

We know the area that I don't really need it, so let me imagine that we know we have eight bolts wide to work with, so underneath and then in the middle of that, we need a pole to go up that will push the car, like this that if we grab one of these that's six wide, so put wheels on each side of this, we should be able to make a small cart, let's grab our tires. I have a lot of tires and wheels, so we'll just connect them like this and then we'll connect the Wheels like this, like this, we have this here and this will be the part that actually pushes the car.
We can add things on top of this, but the important thing is that it now sticks out from the base if we put this here. Put this little pin here on the snow machine to work with this and make sure it can slide into this thing, so we're going to build this to be like the actual track, basically, that's going to help us test it without having to build all so we can I'll just try a small portion of them, let's see if this works, so we have our track here and this mounts there. You can see it fits well, so this would be under one side of our track and just build the same thing on the other side, this will be right in the middle, so I think this is good, honestly this looks really good here , so we're going to take this track layout, now we're going to build it on both sides of the bottom and then what we're going to do is we're just going to tie a rope or a cord to this and I didn't leave any room for that, so whoa, Now we can tie a rope to this part and then at the end of the track under the wall we're going to have a pulley that's attached to a heavy weight, so when we let it go, this thing will just slide and push whatever's in front of it. her.
Let's take this track design and build it. under both sides of the track and then connect them together weird thing over here and then you're done let's put these two things together take this one this one has the thing you want to make sure it's nice and tight like this this next to this plate like we slide the track piece in, please work basically, that works especially in this area, on top of this area we are going to add the wall that we are going to crash into and a pulley somewhere attached to This is so we need to create a wall stronger than anything you've ever seen for these cars to crash into.
On the front of the wall we can attach different shapes like triangles or circles to simulate different types of crashes, so here we have a few. foreign plates and this will extend them in two, so this will be the end of the track here, so let's start building, okay, here it is and we even have a little window that I just added. Place a camera, so this will go here. let's attach it to the giant thing well again I'm thinking how am I going to get here put this right here you need to figure out how to put a pulley here without it falling so what I'm doing here is Taking this, which is a metal Lego axle , and just this right here, which is basically a wheel, put this right there, now we're going to cover it and actually certify this whole area.
Hopefully the rope won't tear this whole thing apart, hopefully. We have a rope and we have a bean bag on the floor. What do we want to do? We want to put this right here, probably where we want it to stop. We want to tie it along where the floor is so as soon as the weight hits the bean bag we want this to be right here I need to run this rope if it goes over the white thing so I'm going to pull it down so now we're going to tie the weights right so we're going to use 10 pounds here we have the bean bag just so it doesn't damage the floor and that's where we're going to tie it right there, okay now with that up, oh that wasn't so bad, in It actually has a lot of power.
It has a lot of power. Wow, this is going to work, so the next step is to build a couple of little Rams here that we can hook onto this wall and then we'll build the cars and try this out. I'm really excited, let's do this, so I'm going to make some Rams that we can put on the front of this thing, but while I'm doing that, I want to say about this video sponsor, Shopify, Shopify is an all-inclusive. -a commerce platform that makes it easy for business owners and entrepreneurs to start selling their products online and in person setting up a Shopify store is literally as easy as this, it literally took me like 45 minutes.
I put my product on Shopify and business boomed. There are millions of merchants using Shopify in 175 different countries, which is crazy to think about. Three or four years ago I made this Lego fidget spinner set and tried to sell them. I think I sold as such, but I didn't know about Shopify. Check it. Now you have a Lego fidget spinner anyway, the reason I'm telling you this is because I just created a Shopify store and it was very easy and I'm actually selling a limited delivery of these Oobleck Crash Test Dummies; There will only be 20 available to you and six of them will be the real ones used in the crash tests and will have numbers on the back so you can check out the second link in the description below and get yours before Selling Shopify is like a portal, you take a product, you put it on the portal and the money comes out the other side, okay there's a little more to it, but Shopify is a great tool for entrepreneurs to start their business journey, so if you are Ready to start your business selling used forks or custom knitted sweaters, you can click the first link in the description below to sign up and you will get a 14-day free trial, which is a great deal, thanks to Shopify for empower entrepreneurs. and by sponsoring this video now we are going to crash some cars okay guys here we are we are all ready we are ready to go we have seven Lego cars to crash test so let's build the first one okay the first step we are going to build is the Lamborghini Countach the sets we are going to build are going to get bigger and bigger so this is just what we are starting with okay we finished the first set let's crash this okay we have our eye protection. and we have our Lamborghini Countach and we're going to put this here the first thing we have on this plate here is we have a triangular Ram we're going to launch this thing in three two one that was actually so amazing this guy just got completely destroyed this is how it went to the car, um honestly i would give this one one star, this guy has no clutch power, he would have literally thrown himself off the thing, yeah one out of five stars, that was honestly terrible okay.
L is helping me reset it because it takes two people because I actually have to lift the weight, don't intimidate him, objects lift the weight, we increase it to 15 pounds, so she's putting that pin out there that's a shaft of Lego steel, oh god, okay. We're ready, the next car we're going to crash is the Fiat 500. I'm really excited to build this one, mainly because the colors and scale are right, as you can see we have our test dummy right there. It's number one, we also have our camera that's recording, so we'll see how it goes well and we'll replace this triangle with this one, which is just a little obstacle, we'll put it here to see what happens in three two one, yeah, not that one. that's a good crash test score, wow, this thing was absolutely destroyed, guys, our crash test dummy, it's splitting in two, it didn't do very well, the whole hood is gone.
I'll probably give that one as a two. five stars as if it's just not very good. I had redesigned this car if it was meant to be used, but just look at how this wall, this thing just took the brunt of it and just pushed it into this wall. I wonder if he could have just come back? I'm glad we added all that reinforcement right there, but it seems like it was a bit of a dangerous look, just pushed this right into the wall, very interesting, let's crash into the next, next step. What we are going to build is the Ford Mustang.
I think this one is going to crash super cool and it also has a lot of blue pieces, which is nice, to be completely honest. I built this the other day because I got a little bored, but look at it. It's beautiful, this is the Ford Mustang, as you can see, it has opening doors and an opening top. Actual address. Actual address. Okay, let's do a crash test. In fact, we'll take off the hood and put in our second test dummy. I made it a little too big, but that was the original design, so there's not much I can do about it.
Furthermore, most of these guys were split down the middle. Alright. Lego Mustang Versus Crash Test Simulator in three, two, one, okay, so it hit the wall I think it bounced off the triangular part, but this whole thing came loose. It looks like the driver just got impaled by this thing. Just look at the slaughter of this thing. The driver, the garage's test dummy, was completely impaled by the steering. wheel, but hey, it's in one piece, so we have to give it that, but the silence is absolutely destroyed since it didn't really hit the ram. I probably gave this one a better rating than the others, so it's probably like a three.
Give it a four out of five because it didn't do horrible and the driver was completely safe. They simply impaled his chest. The next set we are going to build is the Volkswagen Beetle. This thing looks super awesome. Here we go, here we have the beautiful one. but simplistic Lego Mini Cooper oh god it's actually a Volkswagen Beetle you can open the doors you can remove the top there's a refrigerator you can also see on the front there's an engine so we'll see how well it works. I have no idea if it's going to fit but we'll try it yeah here we go we'll put the top back on and just tilt his head down because we're good people let's see how this goes it's a very heavy crash test beetle in three , two, one, wow.
Okay, so what I'm noticing is that it's actually working better in the framework than I expected. I thought the hoods would just wrinkle. Yeah, I mean, basically, the top just came off. The rest ofThis is ready. Oh, did we miss a door, okay, we missed the door, the driver could have been thrown out the side, but look at the test dummy, he says, bro, come on, this place is cool, yeah, I'll give this one a four We haven't had a perfect rating yet, but I feel like everyone is going to break to some degree. 4 out of 5 stars for the beetle, that was really cool.
The next set we will be building is the Aston Martin 007. I am very excited about this set and that is the Lego. 007's Aston Martin, honestly this is great. First, you can eject the seat by just pulling this back here and releasing the hood open. And then pull that out, that's a really cool thing, the doors open, the trunk opens. I'm really sad because we're going to have to crash this into a wall, probably rebuild it later, let's crash this one and see how it goes. Very small vehicle, actually, I'm not sure you'll fit in here.
We have this special feature that ejects the seat, so maybe we'll just get rid of that, but you in there enjoyed her feet. they're up on the board, but he fits in there now we'll just slide this back into his place and we're ready to go three two one, that wasn't horrible to be honest, this really isn't bad at all guys. I can see the crash test dummy there, it's a little bit on its side, but if we put it there like this, look at this damage here, this is because the front did very, very well, you can see there's a little dent right above the U.
The driver is pretty safe there, it didn't fly out of the windshield or anything, so I'm going to say this one gets three out of four stars, mainly because the engine would have exploded because the engine is in the front. This thing, the next thing we're going to build is the T2 motorhome. This is a Volkswagen. Hopefully, this should be great, so let's do it, see what's here. Alright guys, here we have the T2 motorhome. Honestly, it's an amazing solution that has a little something to give you more space. I forget what it's called, but then on this side, look at us pressing that button and then they pull the door back and this is completely decked out guys, so let's see how well. explodes I'm going to take this off and replace it with this maybe this thing here I just want to see if it bends against it or something because I could just go grab our crash test dummy number five put our crash dummy in the cockpit in the couch right there, how are you, crash dummy?
You'll make it, hey, the sets will be fine, so he's there, let's try this in three, two, one, oh that was so cool, it completely destroyed the wall he was on. GoPro was, oh man, so if you look inside the camper, this guy fell out of his chair but he's still okay. I mean, obviously, he's not a person, but look how the camper did, this thing barely broke everything, honestly, the only thing that was broken was the bottom of the bumper and the rest is completely fine. You can see the chair flipped upside down because it doesn't have clips, so it can be a hazard.
Also, the door came off, where is the door? Where did that go? oh, it's all the way here. I found the door, look it hit the barrel and the whole wall was completely destroyed, it barely broke, so five out of five is a great rating for this thing. Wow, okay, I just have to rebuild this real quick. The next car we're going to build is the Porsche 911. Honestly, I'm really excited about this car because it looks super awesome, it looks really cool and that means we're even sadder when we test drive it. but I hope it has a good crash, check it out guys, this is how the steering works for this car, this one has steering that actually works and is connected to the steering wheel, we are in the back five out of ten and I m I'm going to keep building because I'm very excited.
This is the Porsche 911 Targa. This thing is beautiful. The curves on this thing are incredible. The way they got these shapes is just amazing. This is definitely my favorite build of all. Let's take this and crash. try it and see how well it works. I'm really sad to announce that I'm going to have to crash my favorite car in this entire video and I'm really sad to have to crash it, but we'll upload it here. We're going to use this block here because it seems to work best. I don't know if they actually use spikes, but I'll put them on top because why don't we have crash dummy number six?
We can just load it. We can't have your top piece on there, so I'm going to take it off, let's do this, let's see how it goes. I'm a little nervous because I really want this one to stay in one piece, an equal part of me does. to see it explode, so the Porsche 911 in three, two, a whole wall was destroyed there, but let's see what happened. Our crash dummies are still in their seats. Guys, the car is perfectly fine. A little bit of the bumper broke off, but this worked awesome. This is a 10 out of 5.
This is the best crash rating for a car you can get by commenting below which of these you think was best. Thank you very much for watching this video. If you liked it, maybe you'll see one of these. two, these are videos that I have worked very hard on and I think you will enjoy them, thanks for watching, see you around.
