Terraria speedruns are incredibly difficult

Mar 11, 2024
Today we are going to speedrun in Terraria with my purple haired boy friend, so we will start the speedrun as soon as he appears and click to join his game. Now doing a cooperative Speed Run has its advantages, like we can work on two different things at the same time, but the bosses are going to be much more

difficult

and we need to share resources so that everything balances out, but to begin with, the type of purple hair will make four houses and I will start looking for money, so first I needed to create the houses for the villagers to move into.
terraria speedruns are incredibly difficult
I built them this way because they only require a table, a chair, some walls and a certain amount of space to function as a house. Platforms now count as walls if you go around them completely and they are happy. about it, so now they are practically living outside with these houses, the NPCs will move into them and there are two specifically, we need the first one to be the merchant, the second one to be the demolitionist, the merchant will move in after you get 20 coins silver and he can be We used to sell our things too, he will give us money for it, the demolition we need five bombs and the merchant will live in our house and sell us dynamite, which will be used in practically all our boss fights and more.

More Interesting Facts About,

terraria speedruns are incredibly difficult...

In the game, there is actually a third NPC that we want and don't really need. He is the nurse we can pay to heal us and who won't be useful until later in the game. There's also a really strange spawn that I've never seen. The world of Terraria, where the jungle is literally in the spawn area, is like a super

difficult

biome, but it will help us later in the run, so while the purple haired guy was making those houses, I started my search for gold and I headed to the left. I quickly found a snow biome and I got really lucky with this run as I immediately found an abandoned house which means an immediate chest and in this chest I got an ice sword which is really good for fighting enemies in the early game .

Then I found a second house and this one gave me a Snowball Cannon which is even better although we'll come back to that later and also in this chest I have a Gravitation Potion which isn't important right now but will be for a boss Later in the run and to make this start even better, I also got a third house in the same section with an extractor that is really good for selling and a feather fall potion that will also be useful for a boss later, So after removing and selling my stuff, I had a total of six gold coins which would be good enough to take out Skeletron with some demolitionist dynamite.

I ended up finding several chess pieces to explore caves with, however, they're mostly junk that wouldn't really make me that much money, so I can only buy them. some dynamite, but towards the end I found a house with a whetstone, now whetstones sell for about two and a half gold coins, so I also found her dirty here and killed her. This does nothing, but it does improve our morale. and I also found a pair of Hermes boots that give you a super speed or running boost and after returning and selling all my treasure I started the lift, which I will talk about later on my way to Skeletron I took Hermes boots for purple hair guys . which helped a lot with speed, fortunately we always know that Skeletron will appear on the ice side of the biome, so I knew he would be towards the left.
I also picked up some snow blocks using some of my dynamite here which allowed me to get snowballs and those are ammo for the snow cannon so yeah I was pretty prepared for the early game enemies. Also on my way to Skeletron I passed through Crimson, this place is usually only for an early game, but the snowball cannon wiped out the enemies and I was able to. Use this time to farm some of the six vertebrae we need to spawn a boss fight later in the game. Finally, once I got to the temple I found a golden portal with 5 extra gold, which is always good and ready for the fight with Skeletron. which is a lot easier than you think, still, just to be safe, we like to have the wormhole potion from the purple-haired boy, since it will help me a little with the fight and the dungeon exploration afterwards, since that there's an element there that we really want anyway.
For the fight I start by throwing five dynamites where Skeletron will appear before summoning him, this removes one of his hands which is good since that is the biggest way he deals damage, after that we want to remove his other hand which just take a few. more dynamite and hoping to get some good RNG on his attacks, which we did and that means only the head is left. The rest of this fight now comes down to intuition. I want to tie my dynamite throws inside Skeletron and use the head spin attack on him when he's done. correctly this deals us a ton of damage and after a bit we finished him off and I even got his hook throw really overpowered which is good since we have to do one last hook but now it's time to get into his Tempo where the game is really starting to get dangerous by the way, if you're enjoying the video make sure to subscribe and check out the purple haired guys channel as he creates a lot of really great Terraria content.
Anyway, in this temple we have three objectives: Get some water candles to grind Mob. collect 30 bones by killing skeletons so we can spawn Skeletron Prime later in the run and get a shadow key and the dungeon is pretty scary because it has a bunch of PUAs that can kill you if you're not careful and the enemies here. do a lot of damage so we must play smart and then to get the shadow key we must first get a gold key which can drop from enemies and pots and then use it to open a gold chest and wait for Usually, it doesn't, the purple-haired boy and I stayed together for a while, so if one of us dies, the other can stay without having to run back and eventually the purple haired guy was eliminated, so he went to work on the elevator. a combo between the words hell and elevator created by exploding the floor with dynamite until you reach hell, of course, and this is useful many times throughout your career and will be the basis of the back wall, a flush material.
Harvest it with sadness. Since the jungle is right below us, I came across so many railroad tracks that could have led me to some amazing loot, but since this is a quick run, I have to be fast and I had to skip the treasure, which is the saddest thing. that I have done, but I did it. finding heart crystals and heart crystals give us more HP which makes racing easier and while he was doing that after too much time in the dungeon I got all my bones and a shadow key which is definitely worth the time I spent there and now I can return. to explore the underworld at this point of Run, the purple haired boy went to work on the bridge for the wall flash fight, why did we go to get the loot?
There are a few things we need from the underworld, but the important ones are an obsidian skin potion for bed and better. Weapons: We can find a bed in the underworld houses and other things in pots or chests that I can open with the shadow key. Another good thing about chess is that you can have a lot of additional loot like spelunkers and gravitation potions. treasure magnets and things to sell, so it's worth watching while the purple-haired boy builds the bridge by doing this. I found a Sunfury, some Howling Bows, and a bunch of potions. The purple haired boy also got a yo-yo which will be really good for later, so this was a really good section of our run, now it's time for the fight against the Wall of Flesh which is one of the fights. most basic but also one of the most challenging or not really challenging but annoying, you have to sacrifice your guide to be able to summon. the wall and you can do this in two ways: you can find a doo-doo demon and kill it and then take its voodoo doll and throw it away, or you can make the guide a charming house and then break the floor and place it. for a hot bath after murdering him in Cold Blood.
I guess in hot lava you just run in a straight line and throw dynamite back in time so that it explodes in the Wall of Flesh's eyes and mouth. This is not so easy. as it seems, because the walls speed up as they go down, but as long as you keep running you'll probably be fine, maybe and just like with Skeletron, we had me and Easy here in case he died, but we don't want to. he throws dynamite because that will actually slow down the fight because if one dinosaur blows up the bridge the other dynamite will fall through it and probably won't hit him so he just lit bonfires to give me a health regeneration and killed the enemies if they tried kill me so once the wall is dead he drops some important pieces of loot, unfortunately this time he dropped the Clockwork assault rifle which we can't really use because we need ammo for it and he just turned into a general but he left drop the hammer, which is a guaranteed drop and this allows us to break Crimson Alters to break a crimson alter, you generate minerals on hard mode, but before I go and break those altars, I need to drop an obsidian skin potion and jump into the lava . and break the hellstone so I can get a pickaxe and be able to mine those tough super complex arch gates, which means we're separated again as I'll go for 9 Light Souls, nine Night Souls and a bunch of icker, I would always like to start by searching for The Souls of Night in the underground Crimson.
To do this, we can see where the game changes a bunch of blocks to Crimstone and that means we are in the right area and then we want to place a long bridge of our own. crimson stone blocks to hopefully spawn acreage stickers as they drop more, then from here I can build a platform slightly above the crimson stone blocks and place two chests on it, which prevents those blocks from being exploited by dynamite after that, it's just a matter of building using wood. planks that place a water candle on top to spawn more enemies and then throw dynamite into the chest to take out whatever it spawns.
I can also use the yoyo I borrowed from the purple haired boy to help with the extra enemies, which is really nice as it keeps the acrid sticker stunned and we can easily take them out after a while of doing this. We should get a bunch of icker which will turn into acre arrows later and our 9 Night Souls, so it was time to move to the right and get our light souls, meanwhile I was mining hardbodors, there are actually three levels of oars, level one, two, three, which you know makes a lot of sense and you need a pickaxe or a drill from the previous level to extract the next level, so like we had cobalt and then or calcium. and then adamantine needed a cobalt pickaxe to reduce the calculation, simple as that and since multiplayer boss fights are actually harder, I always like to mine more to create armor because you know it's better to be safe than sorry.
Armor gives us more defense. More defense means we die slower now. It would be a waste of time except EZ's Gathering Souls while I do this, so we're doing things in tandem and it's an overall benefit for us. I got back together at the end to help him get Souls of light. I know I'm the best player I have to get, we got our nine Night Souls and our 9 light cells and moved on to the mechanical bosses, the first was the Destroyer, which requires 500 bars, six vertebrae that we collected earlier and six Souls of Night, this guy is literally so easy that we just make a box on a platform with a chest on top and throw dynamite because of the way they built our structures.
The Destroyer can't actually hit us and we just blast it constantly until it dies. It's

incredibly

easy and after defeating the Destroyer we got lucky and got enough bars to make two hollow repeaters. They're pretty much just crossbows and we'll need them for our next two fights. This is where the icker mentioned above comes into play. We make Iker's eras these arrows actually deal more damage than most other arrows have access to and reduce defensive enemies meaning they deal even more damage on top of dealing more damage it's crazy now was the time from the twin boss fight, this is where Many of our runs end because they are a difficult boss and since we don't have maximum health or the best armor, they only need a few hits to really kill us.
Now the twins are two giant metal eyeballs called Spasm Retinaser and they pack a punch with their fire breathing and laser vision that's a little scary. I had a gravitation potion that allows me to change the direction of my gravity so I can fly upwards while Easyhe had to use more primitive methods like jumping and running. Now if we both died at the same time the bosses would disappear so we have to make sure we survive until the respawn time was sped up and after some unfortunate deaths we manage to defeat our visionary enemies and this leads us to the ultimate mechanic .
Mayhem the Skeletron Prime, however, we weren't exactly sure with how much time we had left in the night because when the sun rises those bosses disappear, so we decided to curl up in bed together and wait for tomorrow, since sleeping speeds up with the one that passes time. In the game we also created a few more houses so the steampunker could move in and she sells us a jetpack that finally allows us to fly once we are well rested and have purchased our trusty jetpacks we are ready to kill Skeletron Prime. now this fight is super simple just avoid the attacks shoot his fat head until he dies you can destroy his hands but that's a huge waste of time since once you kill the hands you don't kill the head and after we kill Optimus Prime.
In itself we had all the souls from the mechanical bosses and these Souls allowed us to make hollow pickaxes that allow us to earn chlorophyte that we will use for our next weapon and while we search for 120 chlorophyte to make some new weapons that we also want to search for. The bulb of the plantera that hides somewhere in the jungle. The bulb can be anywhere in the entire jungle, so sometimes this can take at least a long time, although it's also a good time to collect some extra hearts and loot that we missed earlier, so it wasn't a complete waste of time and we were very lucky because after less than 10 minutes of searching we found a Plantera bulb next to our elevator as we had a really strange jungle location in this run, the only reason we didn't find it sooner is that more Plantera bulbs may appear as time goes on, so we probably appeared a little later, we also found enough Chlorophyte to make two shooting bows which shoots multiple arrows per shot and will help increase our DPS for fights remaining.
Now in Plantera we want to make a pretty big arena by carving out a big section and laying down some wooden walking boards and then with all that done we can take out the light bulb and start the fight which is pretty easy honestly all we have What to do is keep confusing Plantera by flying around our Arena and constantly getting some shots into it, then even when it transforms into its second phase, it's no match for us and us. I can eliminate it even if I die right at the end, this also gives us the grenade launcher which is really useful for our next boss, fight the Golem before killing the Golem, we actually have to get to the Golem, now this part is really annoying already We need to infiltrate the jungle temple.
Now the jungle temple has a lot of traps and the stinky lizardmen will try to stop us, but they're really no match for us. After reaching the boss room, we broke all the traps that were placed inside. from it and made a platform towards the ceiling to stand on now the Golem is basically three parts, it has its hands, its head and its body, now the hands will try to hit you no matter what and you can destroy them while the head will only do so. start trying to laser shoot you at half health, once you destroy the head it will open the body section, unfortunately we went through some tough times here and got wiped out, while damn they barely survived, now this was to the final because this boss can be summoned multiple times, we just had to go back to the boss room, cheer up and fight him again, this time absolutely clearing the floor and easy, I got a fight clutch with the sick boss, now this is where Two really unfortunate things happened first after my euphoria of grabbing the Golem.
We got a really good pixel that I gave to the purple haired guy, so he gave me his old pick to sell, but I wasn't thinking at all and I ended up selling both his and mine, so it looks like I'm using a pick from iron. for the rest of the game he's at least legendary, but that's not a big deal, especially compared to what happened next. See, we were preparing for our next boss, the cultist Lunatic, who is in Skeletron's Lair and to do this we wanted to create. a house for the nurse to move into so we can use it to heal, but she can only change houses at night and unfortunately before she could move in, we had a pirate invasion.
Invasions are events that can happen randomly in Terraria, where our village will be constantly. attacked by a certain enemy now normally this wouldn't be so bad since pirates aren't too hard of an invasion, but we quickly learned that because of this invasion we couldn't sleep and pass the time quickly, which meant the nurse couldn't. move in and we had two options, the first was to wait 15 minutes for nightfall and play it safe, while the second was to just not care and try to get through this really tough fight without the nurse and yeah, it's pretty obvious what we choose now.
All was not lost in this fight as we had some really good health potions and we are in co-op mode, this meant that if one of us was low the other could try to de-aggro the cultists so we could wait it out. the timer of our potion. However, the real problem with this fight is that when the cultists try to spawn enemies, sometimes it goes into this phase where it spawns a couple of clones and if we shoot a clone instead of it or if we take too long to hit it, it spawns a real powerful enemy and we would almost certainly lose the fight, that's why we also took out the floating island in the air as we lost several runs because he got stuck on the island during this attack which made there was no way to hit him , but other than that, it was just pure concentration time, especially since there were a few times where one of us fell and the other needed to stop to give them time to respawn.
This was probably the most stressful fight I've ever done. in Terraria and just when we finally reached the end, the craziest part happened. I was currently in the act of stopping our purple-haired boy from coming back to life and literally right when he respawned, I died, meaning I barely lasted long enough for the purple one. The hair boy will enter and we will eventually beat the fight, so after all there are only four pillars and a Moon Lord to go, the pillars are essentially a lot of events that must be completed in order to summon the final boss.
The moon board is generally quite difficult. The enemies they spawn have a gimmick and are actually super powerful. You have to complete each pillar by killing hundreds of similar enemies and then destroying the pillar itself, which has like 20,000 HP, oh my god, there are many ways though. To choose this, the first pillar we had to clear was the vortex pillar, since we were being invaded by Jack Sparrow and his crew of Salty Sea Dogs, we didn't really have time to prepare so we just had to run into the area and wait. For better now we died a lot but I managed to dig a hole so everything turned out fine, you just have to sit in that hole and shoot up and it will kill everything, no chance and after destroying it we got the vortex fragments that we can use to create the Ghost, which is really powerful and we will need it for the next pillar.
We then move on to the Stardust fan color and there is even better cheese for this one. What we want to do is bring in some stars. The cells out of reach of the pillars, again we can dig a hole and shoot them. The good thing about this enemy is that they split into many star cells when defeated and will grow back into normal cells after waiting a bit so we can kill them. one hundred of these and we're done for the day, then all that's left is to take out the pillar as usual and we get the Stardust Dragon, which is an

incredibly

strong summon that we'll use for the rest of the speedrun.
We were also able to finally get rid of the Pirate Invasion here, which is pretty important for a bit later on, so things were starting to fall into place. The third pillar we were making was the solar pillar. This one is really interesting since you have to make a super strange cheese. To get as high as you can in the sky so that there are no blocks for enemies to spawn on, you can do this with junction boxes which interestingly can be placed with nothing around them and then you can place a platform on top of them that you can hook onto. .
To stay in the air, we then essentially built what is a giant fishing hook and stood on top of it and let our Stardust dragons do their thing and destroy the pillar by simply firing from the side without any enemies noticing. It's really amazing. gave us some solar fragments that we use to create dawns, which will be our main weapon for the fight against the Moon Lord and finally, our fourth pillar is the nebula pillar, which will be the most difficult since we will not use cheese to it. Unfortunately, I was also alone at the beginning of this fight since the purple-haired boy was busy building our arena for the Moon Lord and my loneliness caused me to die a couple of times other than that, there's not much to say besides the fact that purple hair.
The guy got a hollow hood that allows them to have another segment on their Stardust Dragon. Unfortunately, we only had enough resources for one, but it was really helpful in defeating the last pillar and reaching the Moon Lord, and honestly, the Moon Lord isn't that bad. We fight the structure that the purple haired boy made, we basically have the nurse trapped in a really awkward space so she can hear us in this stone structure on top so the Moon Lord can't hit us with his attack of laser beam after that, all we have to do is use our breaks of the day to hit the Moon Lord's head and hands to make him appear on his next face.
The only real concern is with the nurse. We must always pay attention to our health and make sure we do not die. She can't always have her heel menu open because then she won't be able to heal and will end up dying herself because of this for the first time in our 80 hours of practice. The purple-haired boy died in my place during the Mood Lord fight. and I had to hold on, which was terrifying like many other times in this run, although I was able to hold on when necessary and take the Moon Lord to his last phase where we returned to our bed and started shooting, can you?
I don't see the eye of the moon lord on his chest because the background covers it, but it is very easy to remove and finally, after four months of speedrunning, we completed it in two hours, 49 minutes and 39 seconds, which It will take us to ninth place in the speedrun. .com and we'll take it especially after dealing with everything that went wrong so yeah if you enjoyed this video make sure to subscribe and check out the purple haired guys channel for more great Terraria content bye.
