Now back to the story... In the winter of 2021, OnlyJayus was exposed for disturbing behavior involving another creator. From that moment on... all eyes were on Jayus and any worrying behavior would quickly be spread. With endless reactions and criticism... Jayus would never be the same again. . What's up guys? My name is Bella, you may know me as Jayus. Their TikTok career began in February 2019 and they are best known for their life hack style videos. They also have 3 million subscribers on YouTube, where they occasionally offer longer-form content.

Jayus also found success on Netflix with his own podcast called "I Know It All." Jayus' content was educational and easy to understand; its content was on an upward trajectory. What we didn't know was that things were happening behind the scenes that allowed us a glimpse into Jayus' character. Jayus was having problems with another creator: Acrello. Acrello is a popular TikToker from Lansing, Michigan, with over 7 million

followers

. He is best known for his comedy bits and life hack videos. Two years ago, in November 2020, Acrello posted a cryptic video criticizing Jayus: This call would lead to a back-and-forth argument accusing each other of lying.

I never planned to mention the name to you, but you commented so I'll respond here. Jayus' main defense against Acrello's accusation was claiming that they only said Acrello's career would die after he made a YouTube video lying about them. The YouTube video in question had 20 minutes of Acrello criticizing Jayus and making bold claims, such as committing SA. Acrello claimed that Jayus misrepresented the timeline. stop lying?? Why are you doing me this? He showed evidence that Jayus made the negative comment about Acrello's race on April 5, 2020. This is April 5, everyone can watch at the top. Acrello then showed evidence that the YouTube video was posted 3 days after their conversation, on April 8, 2022.

As you can see, the date is April 8. That all started because you told me my career would die. But I used it as motivation, that's the good thing! Jayus attempted to provide context, stating that in early 2020, Acrello questioned why Connor, a mutual friend, blocked him and Jayus told Acrello it was because he was copying Connor's content. Jayus said the fight was between Connor and Acrello and asked to stay out of the drama. However, Jayus said Acrello proceeded to make the 20-minute video and continued to talk about Jayus in numerous other videos as well. I wanted to drag myself into this because I have a lot of followers.

He's chasing influence, you know? He reviewed all my videos and picked out every little thing I said. He told people that I was a shitty criminal and a shitty addict. So excuse me if I don't like the kid. Acrello denied Jayus' timeline and continued to stand by his original statement. I didn't leave the video with you because you told me he was stealing my content. I left you the video because you told me my career would die. Acrello also said that Jayus had blocked him on his second TikTok account so she could continue talking about him in secret.

During their heated discussion, Acrello surprised the audience with another comment about Jayus. Several verified creators came out and said you've been horrible to them. So stop acting like this big person. Jayus continued to defend his claim that Acrello's YouTube video was fake. Acrello explained why the YouTube video of him was not a defamation, considering the circumstances at the time: I saw the video, it was posted out of context with no indication that it was a joke and I said it was SA. Yes, kissing someone without their consent is SA. That's not defaming your name. Any court would agree with me on that.

You use Google. You must know this. Then Jayus got really heated... I thought this drama was over in April, but since this kid doesn't remember how it ended for him last time, we'll have to go through it again. This time, Jayus showed up with DMs exposing Acrello's behavior during his fight with Connor. Jayus showed how Acrello ranted about how all TikTok content is not original. Jayus tried to explain boundaries to Acrello: I explained to him that no man likes it different when someone you consider a friend copies your videos, and that's why he was angry. But I tried to stay out of this damn drama.

Jayus said this was the context behind his comment about Acrello's career, but he didn't show any evidence to support this: And I mentioned that if I didn't stop copying, I wouldn't be anywhere in 6 months. Jayus said they are angry because Acrello made a video about them instead of talking about the situation. Then Acrello made a comment we were all waiting for. He said many of his ideas on Reddit and had his own opinion on the matter. Acrello also said that he credited Reddit for his ideas, but Connor never did. All of those screenshots are me defending myself, basically telling them that he wasn't copying.

I don't have enough time to talk about this in a 60-second TikTok video, but they basically told me that if I apologized, the videos would go down, but they never did. While the discussion about original versus non-original content may seem petty because no one has publicly available educational information... things got worse when Acrello revealed Jayus' terrible reaction to the video. One of Jayus' fans asked others to comment on Acrello's Instagram page: and made a personal comment saying: Acrello proved that Jayus liked the tweet. These were all the likes for the tweet. The girl has deleted it now.

As you can see here it says OnlyJayus. She liked the tweet, basically giving everyone the gateway to comment on it. As you may have noticed, Acrello's 20-minute video criticizing Jayus has been removed from YouTube. He revealed that Jayus threatened to have YouTube remove him, so he removed it himself. With screenshots released... and screenshots withheld... it's still unclear what really happened between the two. But what is clear is the anger that Jayus had over the public criticism. And Acrello's comment about TikTok's content being unoriginal seemed to foreshadow what would happen next. In July 2020, Jayus accused content creator Jonathan Moss of copying his content.

I do not own the information. I think it's cool for other creators to make informative videos. It literally doesn't bother me. I just think it's really weird when other big creators think it's okay to copy my video word for word and act like you don't. The video in question showed Jonathan saying word for word what Jayus said: *Jayus* Did you know that your birth month actually has a huge effect on who you are as a person and the things that could happen to you? *Jonathan* Hey, did you know that your birth month actually has a huge effect on you and the things that can happen in your life? *Jayus* People born in March are much more likely to have asthma and I can actually talk to this one because my little sister, the only one born in March, has asthma. *Jonathan* People born in March are actually more likely to have asthma and I can talk about that because my cousin, the only person born in March… has asthma!

The situation quickly escalated and Jonathan received hatred and threats to end his life. Jayus asked people to stop sending hate and threats to Jonathan, but he urged him to do the right thing: I don't want Jonathan to receive hate. So enough with the damn death threats he claims to receive, but he knows exactly what he's doing. And I think as bigger creators we should be better than that, and I think he should recognize that. Jonathan quickly responded with an answer we all saw coming: I found the content on Google. “What does your birth month say about you?”, I found it and thought, oh wow, this would be cool.

And to back up his claim, Jonathan showed a Business Insider article that he claimed to have read word for word. He said that his cousin actually had asthma and that's why he decided to make the video of him in March. Some felt Jayus deserved the credit: But others sided with Jonathan: And this negativity really stuck with Jayus... Jayus attempted to redeem himself in a post they wrote on the r/

subreddit titled, Jayus said they used multiple sources to create their TikTok and they had planned to do it every month of the year, but Jonathan had uploaded it before them.

They said his friends had told them to leave the situation alone, but they were too upset and called Jonathan anyway, leaving a comment about copying his content. Jayus said Jonathan deleted the comment, so Jayus left another comment. Jonathan then blocked Jayus. Jayus shared his honest feelings: For the rest of 2020, Jayus was drama-free and continued to thrive on TikTok. But when the new year arrived, Jayus was in for the surprise of a lifetime. In early February 2021, old direct messages from Jayus were leaked showing a fight between Jayus and an anonymous creator. Jayus made racially charged comments and wished illness on the creator's parents.

This inappropriate behavior led to public complaints on TikTok. *Jayus* To everyone here, I love you regardless of your sex, your gender, your sexuality, your faith or your race. *Freek* Ugh, that didn't age well, because that's you? Jayus claimed the fight took place 2 or 3 years ago, but TikToker @freekdagemini1, aka Freek, was suspicious of the timeline: This is why I don't trust people with savior complexes. Brother, I feel like there is always a second agenda behind what you are doing. If you say he is 2-3 years old, you were 20 years old. You are a role model for 10 million people, brother.

I hope things get better and I hope they educate. Jonathan Moss also spoke out, sharing DMs from Jayus denying the allegations by implying the DMs were Photoshopped and then having a 180-degree moment realizing the DMs were real: She denied it! lieddirectly. But when they showed her the evidence, she immediately backtracked to apologize for something she tried to cover up. A big deal with a brand was also at risk at this time. Arlen Parsa, a documentary filmmaker, criticized Netflix for collaborating with Jayus. Jonathan encouraged others to inform Netflix about the situation, as Netflix has been an ally of BLM: If they still support this… all racist, why should we support them?

Netflix has a full Black Lives Matter page, but do black lives really matter to Netflix? Or was it simply a publicity stunt? TikToker and rap artist Crystal Crave also criticized Jayus for inconsistent behavior: This one's for the white people who told me he was only 16 years old. It was five years ago. His brain was underdeveloped. People change and come up with every excuse in the book. Before uploading the video, she was not following me. After my video hit the page for you, I realized that it does. This tells me that she saw what she had to say.

She said she was going to apologize, which she hasn't done yet. What you need to understand is that her racism didn't start when she wrote that message and it didn't end after she hit send. When they pepper sprayed this 9 year old, I didn't hear any of that nonsense...excuses. I give you 6 hours to publicly apologize. Jayus once again took to Reddit to explain himself. And with the immense amount of criticism, Jayus finally apologized on February 12, 2021... They stated that at first they did not believe the screenshots were real: Jayus thanked the people who educated them and called the experience a “ reality check.” To make things right, Jayus promised to share his platform with black creators.

It was later seen that Jayus liked the positive reactions to his apology. Several creators reacted negatively to Jayus' apology: I don't know what little thing she thought she was doing, but she was making *fake crying noises*, like she was crying when we all know she wasn't. Admitting the fact that when he said, he thought that was the best hit to give a person, he felt that loving a black person was so disgusting that that was the best hit to give someone, like *laugh in disbelief* That's bullshit silly. One creator, PapaGut, believed Jayus was being sincere, but he acknowledged that it was not his place to accept the apology.

I actually had a conversation, a private phone call with Jayus about the situation like... She seemed pretty sincere about how sorry she was. Um, we had a conversation for about an hour. Privately, I think she is sincere. Publicly, I think her management team got too involved in this. But whether the apology seemed genuine or not… Jayus was exposed once again, digging a deeper hole. TikToker @ispeak1906, also known as Anthony Hyland, showed a comment Jayus left on his video that contradicted Jayus' statement that they thought the DMs were photoshopped: But aren't you here in my comments section saying that You apologize to the person who said it a year ago.

So when they reappeared on TikTok, you deliberately acted inadvertently and knew you had said that nonsense. The situation

became

worse than we could have imagined when the voice notes were exposed. TikToker @wartooth95, also known as Raphael Hernandez, appeared to ask Jayus to make a video that addressed the situation in more depth. Instead, Jayus explained their situation through a voice note and the effort they were making to educate themselves now: *Jayus* Well, for starters, I left my f--king conservative town, went to college, and moved to Los Angels and Simply, I came out of the little white bubble and liked my school, like everyone said that word.

There were people in the parking lot who had Confederate flags on their trucks and like the school didn't care. We only had like two black kids. I didn't grow up in a diverse environment, and then once I left that environment, it opened me up to so many more experiences that changed my entire worldview. I have read many books about racing. I'm reading, I'm reading How to Be Antiracist right now, I've read Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man, and I'm going to read The New Jim Crow. But Jayus' honesty seemed to get them into more trouble when they blamed his behavior on a video game...

I'm educating myself on this. I'm not a fucking racist. I just talked nonsense in 2016, because I played too much Call of Duty, man. Like, I don't know. I was, I was a toxic piece of shit, and I'm not just apologizing because I got caught. Last year I apologized to this guy who showed the screenshots. And as time went on, everyone expected Jayus to make good on his promise to share his platform with Black creators. This never happened and it seemed like a book took its place. People were not impressed. At the end of February, Jayus

a total of 700,000 followers on TikTok.

Throughout this controversy, there was one creator that Jayus would go crazy for: Aunt Karen. Aunt Karen is a TikToker who uses her platform to raise awareness about racism and has over 1.5 million followers. Aunt Karen was one of the Black creators Jayus invited to speak on his platform, but a whole month went by and Jayus still wasn't cooperating. *Jayus* He's talking to two other people right now, trying to get a great zoom call with some people. If you want to be a part of this, that's fine. If not, I understand that too. I understand that I haven't kept my promise like many people expected me to, and it's something I'm still working on.

Then, in April, Aunt Karen made several videos criticizing Jayus for cheating on her: Are the black ones just chips that you can use when you're ready to play? Because I can tell you one thing. If you were truly sorry for what you said, you wouldn't have lied and said you were going to do something you clearly aren't trying to do. Aunt Karen was frustrated by Jayus's inability to follow through with his actions. So why not just be racist? Just say you're racist. She called out those who might try to make excuses for Jayus. Now your fans might keep saying, “oh, she just moved into a new apartment,” “she just…”, stop it.

Stop the cap, because she may have moved, but she has been transmitting, look at your phone. You look at your TikToks. She streams on her TikTok. She's playing those games. She's on Twitch, whatever. So don't tell me I was wrong for posting this. The fact that you were able to say what you said and still have followers is just... it's sad and honestly just goes to show that black creators never get the recognition they deserve. Jayus rushed over to Aunt Karen and explained why the collaboration didn't happen... *Jayus* So, um, then I'm sorry for basically misleading you.

I didn't mean to do that. I just have a very chaotic schedule and, on top of that, ADHD. So I really forgot. It wasn't me who tried to ignore you. But instead of arranging things for collaboration, Jayus cut off contact: *Jayus* Um, you could have contacted me again, but instead you decided to go public and try to add public pressure on me and that's not fucking right. Cold. So I don't want to collaborate. Aunt Karen was disappointed and showed that she had already made an effort on her part: this is what black girls have to go through instead of just apologizing.

You're going to put it on the black girl. Are you going to put it on me? OnlyJayus, if you look at my last video, that receipt, that email was dated 3/24. On your voicemail, you said I should have emailed you again. Baby, what is this, this you? On April 4th I sent you an email. How many times do you wait for me to message you, expecting you to continually ghost me? Wow. Jayus apologized for Aunt Karen's video, but Aunt Karen disagreed. OnlyJayus, stop fooling black people. Stop fooling people of color. If you really want to know how to be anti-racist, stop misleading people of color and treating them like they are the problem.

At this point, any person of color, any ally of people of color should not follow OnlyJayus. Aunt Karen also posted shaking her head in reaction to Jayus' claim that they got their vocabulary from playing Call of Duty too often. Jayus was furious at how many videos Aunt Karen made about them, and what they said next would be a moment viewers would never forget. On April 9, 2021, Jayus shared an explosive rant directed at Aunt Karen: Today's episode of Why Are People Mad at Me Now? Not checking my emails in a timely manner! I was joking! I forgot to respond to an email from this creator who wanted to collaborate with me, and you know, instead of just contacting me again, they made 7 damn videos about it!

Can you please leave me alone? I have a diagnosed neurological disorder that causes me to forget things and procrastinate due to time blindness! I forget to eat for days. I procrastinate sleep for more days. I barely text back my family and I moved apartments because my address just leaked, and you're going to throw a fit because I didn't make you my priority? Go to hell! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get fucking drunk in Las Vegas to celebrate my 22nd birthday, and you all can continue crying for my attention. Aunt Karen was puzzled because she had already addressed the follow-up when Jayus didn't respond.

They are the lies for me. Oh my god... all of you. Aunt Karen always keeps her receipts. They are the lies. What are these dates? She hits you again, you say, what, what, what are these dates? We are lying. Wow. Other creators had a lot to say. TikToker @pengooin_boo, aka Ash, criticized Jayus for blaming everything on his ADHD: Ash also exposed Jayus for saying they would post BLM links in his bio, but he never did. Many other TikTokers continued to criticize Jayus for his defensive behavior: Surprisingly, on April 14, 2021, Jayus spoke about positivity on his platform, which Aunt Karen quickly shut down: *Jayus* With my platform I have made it much more positive than negative that many of you really don't want to give me credit for. *Aunt Karen* Are you kidding me?

Haven't you learned anything these last few days? You know, it's so funny how so many people have come up to me and said you want to apologize and yet you do things like this. Positive? Have you made it more positive? How can you sit there and speak so highly of yourself knowing that you isolated black voices? Knowing that you didn't talk to me on purpose. Knowing that you deliberately avoided black people, because you only wanted to put out the black voices that you felt were positive for you. Aunt Karen also criticized Jayus for being calculating. Well, some of you are missing the big picture here.

Did you notice how OnlyJayus posted about me and our problem only on his alternate account? It's because they didn't want his main followers to know that they didn't keep his promise. It wasn't long before Jayus's professional support fell apart. Jayus soon

lost

all of his sponsors, including his partnerships with Netflix, HiEmile, and Casetify. Jayus continued posting TikTok videos as if everything was normal. But about 4 months after the initial apology video, Jayus found himself in controversy again, this time offending another community. On May 23, 2021, Jayus made a video offering “Illegal Living Tips.” In the caption, Jayus wrote: Many people didn't see the humor in the joke.

While some people felt that others were overreacting. But some people were really hurt by the joke… When will it be enough to say that OnlyJayus is not a good creator? It should not be followed and it should not be listened to. Inna Kanevsky, a psychology professor with 1.1 million followers on TikTok, talked about her daughter who uses a service dog: My daughter is @faythegay, she uses a service dog. Because? Because, in fact, there are times when Fay may be incapacitated and her dog will need help. And that? This is not a kind of joke you want to make!

It's not funny to anyone that you use a service dog. Not well. And there is no apology, there is no responsibility. There is nothing. Fay also made several videos about the situation which eventually led to Jayus commenting: Fay responded by implying that Jayus' joke wasn't actually a joke: So the title says uhm this is a joke for reasons, which definitely implies that for legal reasons this is a joke. . enraged as she explained the real danger service dog users face: So I'm here as a disabled person with a service dog, here she is, clearly labeled, calling you out for what you did, which is super harmful.

It is a constant fear for me and my community. That when she is incapacitated someone will take advantage of me. This has happened to me. It has happened to other people. It constantly appears in the news. And you do this to your millions of followers. You put it in an “advice” video. And you think calling it a joke will excuse it? Fay criticized Jayus for not doing proper research as an educational content creator: You could have talked todisabled people, you could have done your research like you say you do and done an education; Video on what to do if a service dog handler is down and his dog carries the service dog to him.

The video continues to be published inciting and causing harm to disabled people. You don't care and you won't listen. And you're not even ashamed of it. Fay also criticized Jayus for his language and his supposed reaction to the situation: Another service dog user offered some real advice: First, obviously follow the dog, find the owner. He checks if the owner is alive. Check the dog for patches or documents that he will sometimes have on him and tell you what to do. It's been almost a year since Jayus posted the video and it still hasn't been removed. A month after the illegal prank was made, Jayus continued to receive backlash.

On June 11, 2021, TikToker @Seansvv, also known as Sean, revealed that he was another Black creator that Jayus was going to collaborate with... but Jayus didn't follow through. I have never felt so used, emotionally exhausted and manipulated in my life. Do you know how much empathy, patience, acceptance and tolerance it takes to speak privately with a creator who has had a troubled past and said he would address it privately and then publicly? Sean explained that they organized a lot of the preparation behind the scenes: scheduling Zoom calls with other creators, setting goals for Jayus, and giving them academic material to study.

Sean expressed his disappointment: To be probably the only Black creator who was willing to build a bridge, meet someone halfway and say, “Hey, I'm willing to help you with this.” Here are the plans. Let's do this together just so they leave it on read or say, we'll get to it later or we'll do it another time. Invest more than two months of your own time in helping someone. Trying to believe that they are not like that, trying to help them. This creator burned a bridge that I built 90% of, and I'm not going to hold back the s**t I let through.

Then Sean dropped a bombshell that would forever change the narrative of Jayus' apology. Sean revealed that Jayus allegedly hired a ghostwriter to write his apology in February so he wouldn't lose his brand deals. The person who helped lead the apology is my friend, and you have hurt him over and over again, just like you have hurt me. On June 13, 2021, TikToker @_imjustzander, also known as Alexzander, admitted to being the Ghostwriter: I then tried to help them as best I could, although I was still extremely angry and frustrated. He helped with a good portion of the apology, especially the part about black creatives.

When we were both talking about that part of the apology, I really thought they would hold up their end of the deal, you know? Alexander said they were friends with Jayus before the controversy and noted that Jayus was in a difficult situation and needed a black person to talk to. Alexander and Sean were some of the few blacks who would still show kindness to Jayus during that time. However, Alexander expressed his true feelings now that Jayus did not follow through with his plan. I definitely feel like he was a little used. It wasn't long before the public took matters into their own hands and, as always, Jayus had to get involved.

In June 2021, Vanellope Von Adams started a petition to remove OnlyJayus from TikTok, listing all the controversies they have been seen in. Jayus seemed irritated by the petition and made multiple social media posts about the situation... The only way TikTok would ever ban me, I will ban myself. I don't give a damn. Despite his initial responses, Jayus stated that they were so sure that nothing would come of the petition, that they were willing to buy more signatures for the petition. Vanellope, the creator of the petition, reacted to Jayus's attitude: *Jayus* A total of 35,000 people, don't they like me? *Vanellope* Uh, it's 37,000, do it right.

Oh, I'm just kidding, it's much more than that. Do you seem to forget that this petition was started less than a day ago? So it's not 35,000 people in total. So far there are 35,000 people. Do you want to know what I find very funny? And forgive me for not laughing, it's too early. But usually, Jayus, when you're caught up in a scandal and it's something you don't want to get involved in or care about, you ignore it. The fact that you even acknowledged the petition might tell us a little more than you think, and don't forget that people have paid real money to push the petition and get more signatures.

Aunt Karen also criticized Jayus for his attitude: you are creating your own ruin. You won't apologize or be serious because you really don't care and we hold you accountable for it. The truth is that you are terrified. You won't even post any of this on your main account because that's how terrified you are, and if anyone else is seeing this, sign the petition and let's hold people like this accountable. So far, the petition has garnered more than 400,000 signatures. And as a result of the endless controversies, Jayus' follower growth slowed down by 34.6% compared to previous reports of him.

The week the petition was launched, his TikTok subscriber growth fell from 1.1 million weekly followers to 100,000 weekly followers. By fall 2021, Jayus would be exposed again, this time by a fellow creator who once defended them. On October 20, 2021, Papa Gut revealed that he believes Jayus is a bad person. Five days earlier, Papa Gut made a commentary video on Jayus's TikTok about how the minimum wage in the United States has not increased even though the cost of living has increased dramatically. Papa Gut's reaction was: I understand OnlyJayus is trying to be nice here, but OnlyJayus doesn't understand things. Next, Papa Gut explained the complexity of increasing the minimum wage and many factors to take into account.

She then she says "Jayus doesn't know things", shut the fuck up buddy. Papa Gut confronted Jayus about the deleted comment and offered to talk about the minimum wage. "I didn't delete s--" which is verifiably false because it's gone, this comment doesn't exist, it's not there, it's not in the "awaiting review" section... because I looked everywhere, she deleted it.

This is something she does a lot. She will say things and delete them... and criticize people who disagree with her. And she will try to use her large audience to dissuade people. In a comment thread with another Redditor, a moderator deleted all comments except Jayus's. So while we don't know what the Redditor said, we do have Jayus' response... which revealed a dark past that no one expected. And the final blow involved calling out the Redditor in a mean way: The Redditor responded to Jayus's immaturity...
