iOS 16.5 Beta 1 - A Good Start!

Mar 30, 2024
Hi everyone Aaron here for zollotech and iOS 16.5

beta

1 has been out for a few days and so far as a small update like many early

beta

s as we get closer to iOS 17 Apple needs to save some most important features for that version. So far, with iOS 16.5 beta 1, we have three features that we know about: Siri can activate a screen recording, activate a screen recording and you will see that it is enabled, of course, we can disable it like this, that is available and we also have news that now it also gains a sports section so we have a whole new sports section in news and we also have a code that suggests a quad frame image in image TV for sports let me show you what that could look like that you will see here posted by me Steve hidey friend Kali, hopefully I'm saying that he made some kind of proper diagram of what up to four different screens could look like picture-in-picture at once, so that's within the code, as you can see here, and that's something that There will probably be more added in the future, so generally with beta 1 the updates are pretty minor, but there are also other things that we are waiting for, so we have three different features that we know Apple is working on one of them: verification of the contact code. and messages that would check messages sent to and from different people to verify that they are legitimate, also Apple card savings accounts, so now that we have Apple Pay later, I don't have it in my wallet app yet, but if you are Seeing that, leave it.

Let me know in the comments below, but we're also waiting for that Apple Card savings account and updated versions of CarPlay. Now this could work with manufacturers, be it anything from Mercedes-Benz to Porsche, Chrysler or Ford, so at this point. It looks like we'll have to wait for them to integrate it directly into their vehicles or something else, so those are features we're waiting for, maybe we'll see them in iOS 16.5 since they were in the code and Apple promised it would be updated. carplay with the introduction of iOS 16 at WWDC last year, many of you have been asking me about the beta profile in iOS 16.5 if you don't want to install the update but you still see the option, so if you go into your settings you go to General , then to Software Update, you will see the option for beta updates.

More Interesting Facts About,

ios 16 5 beta 1 a good start...

You can change this, of course, and even if you disable it, it will still appear, so if you want to disable it, you can, but the point is that it is. It will still be here because you've already signed up with Apple at beta.apple.com or maybe you're a developer at developer.apple.com. This will only appear if you don't want beta versions to disable it if you enable it. them and you will get the next one to revert to the current version, so iOS 16.4 you will still need a computer, so I have been getting that question a lot lately, so if you are already on the beta, I will have to wait until the next one or use a computer to downgrade in any way, you should have the option now since you signed up with that Apple ID.

I just wanted to briefly mention that Apple announced WWDC 2023, it will last a week. June 5-9 and it will be shown on the first day, where they normally have a keynote, they will show iOS 17, you will see OS 10, Mac OS 14, iPad OS 17 and whatever else they have, whether it is a reality headset with system operating reality o There's something else we don't really know, but that's what Apple should show on day one. We can see it online. You can register to attend in person, but it can primarily be viewed virtually. You can also sign up for Swift. student challenge I did make a separate video with more details on that though, but it's on developer.apple.com and you'll be able to watch the keynote live on your phone, iPad, YouTube generally and elsewhere now, as for other releases of this week that I wanted. to mention a couple more things, one of them is that Apple released iTunes 12.12.8 this week, so far they haven't released the new apps for Windows with Apple Music and stuff like that, they still have iTunes and they updated it this week as well.

Apple updated its older iPhones with iOS 15.7.4. Unfortunately, you can't get this on other iPhones that were previously able to get iOS 15. So you'll see 15.7.4 here and on this iPhone, this iPhone 8 plus, I actually have iOS 15.7. 2 and if we go to software update, unfortunately it only shows 16.4, so if we go to about, you can see that we have 15.7.2. Unfortunately, there is no longer a way to update the iPhone 8 plus with those versions because Apple does not create the ipsw files. available, so unfortunately we still have 15.7.2 without security updates. Apple wants you to jump to the latest version 16 4.
I'd love to see them continue to support the older versions on phones like this for people who just don't want to upgrade. maybe we will see it in the future but unfortunately I don't think so now as for some things with news and then we will talk about iOS 17 and then the iOS 16.5 experience, general news for this week, well there are a couple of things I wanted To mention, one of them has to do with Apple Carplay. Now with Apple Carplay we've had it in many different cars for quite some time and according to General Motors they are getting rid of it in their future electric vehicles.
We are going to work with Google and this is similar to what Volvo does, but they usually allow you to use carplay if you want. I think it's a terrible idea since Tesla and companies like Rivian don't currently offer carplay, but it's not that terrible. It's a big deal since their entertainment systems are generally pretty

good

and integrate Google Maps anyway. However, I really think people should use or give the option to allow Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so I think it's a big mistake on their part, but we'll do it. I have to see how that develops in the future.
Also, a couple more things I wanted to mention is that Bing integrates GPT chat and increases its capabilities with Dolly with image creation, bardo with Google and AI in general is developing and deploying rapidly. about where it could drive without some kind of controls or mandates, many think it should stop for now, including Steve Wozniak, who helped co-found Apple, as well as others where they believe common rules and laws should be established before it gets out of there. . control, let me know what you think about it in the comments below. As for iOS 17 compatible devices, we haven't heard much about this.
Hopefully we'll have some leaks very soon, but Apple will let us know on June 5. As for what will be supported, we think the iPhone won't really change its support with the iPhone 8 plus, but if they remove anything it would be the 8 plus the eight and the iPhone 10. Hopefully they keep support for the iPhone 8 plus, or at least give us updates with iOS 15 to bring it to 15.7.4 either way hopefully they will continue to support it if it's just a stability update with some minor features and speaking of those features we expect some cool features. that means we don't really know, according to Mark German, he said just some cool features with stability, so maybe split view like we have on the iPad, maybe some other things, just some minor updates, but don't expect important features like locking.
Screen update this year, maybe they'll bring back some features we've wanted for a while, maybe with 3D touch interactions with wallpapers and things like that live wallpaper, but so far it doesn't look

good

. I'd love to see some kind of redesign. but I don't think we're going to get it this year, as far as iOS 16.5 beta 1 goes, it seems to be off to a good

start

, based on the YouTube community survey, we'll take a look at some of your feedback. Below there are over 7,500 votes and over 117 comments. Most people say it's pretty stable so far. We expect some bugs, and of course you want to report them in the feedback app if you have something important, but there are a few things to talk about.
As for bugs, but first it seems to be pretty stable. I really haven't had any failures in the application. Not much has happened to me as far as that goes, the phone works fine, we'll talk about that in a minute, but overall it seems to be pretty good, as good as 16.4, maybe a little better now bug-wise, though I experienced a major bug and it has caused a problem in the last few days specifically with the sleep and wake alarm, so if I am using sleep mode and it switches to sleep mode. The alarm didn't ring for me.
I had to set a regular alarm to get it to work, so you'll see I have it set for 9:25am. m. in the morning. I changed this to 8am. m. I changed it, it didn't actually enable it, so I was waking up late much later than expected, so I would have to turn on these alarms here, just the normal ones, for the alarm to work. That's a pretty big problem, so that's one of the problems. One of the other problems you may have already noticed is on the iPad or any phone. Actually, if you are using the weather widget, sometimes it will say no weather data and it will work, but I have to enter it, it takes quite a while, then it updates, then it works properly and it still doesn't work properly on the iPad, but on my iPhone is working, but this morning I noticed it wasn't there for some reason, so there's still a bug.
Continuing with that widget, people have been asking me about this, it definitely seems to be an issue. Two people personally mentioned issues with Wi-Fi disconnecting. I haven't experienced this and like I said, it's just two people, but it seems like it. "It's a problem and the same goes for Bluetooth, some people say they are disconnecting again so I don't see that seems to work well for me, it actually connected on the other faster iPhone but the airpods work fine." They are connecting quickly and staying connected. I wore them this morning with my watch. I went for a walk and had a little interference at first, but then there were no problems.
I don't know if it was the watch or if it was the iPhone but either way it could have just been the airpods and maybe they need a firmware update as for other bugs I've seen, some people say they keep being asked for their iCloud passwords over and over again so I think that's something quite Some people have mentioned that it keeps showing up and some people keep seeing square notifications so on the notifications here they see them square and I don't really see that in fact most of Notifications are working correctly now. I compared to 16.4, but some people still say they are square, let me know if yours does too.
Now we'll talk about battery and performance in a moment, but let's talk about the release of iOS 16.5 beta 2 since we're on it. It's usually a bi-weekly schedule with the release once we have the first one. We usually don't get weekly releases until we get to beta 3. So probably nothing next week, usually the second week is when we'll get it. update I think probably on the 10th or 11th we'll see that update, so maybe a final release of iOS 16.5 in May sometime before WWDC, then we'll get iOS 17 betas along with iOS 16.6 betas until let's have a final release of iOS 17 in September, that's usually what Apple does, of course, they could change it, but it seems likely now as for battery life in iOS 16.5 beta 1, well, it really hasn't been good for me so far, this phone. overall it's been great with the latest updates, it seems to be my phone overall, although if we get to the battery let's take a look at the battery status and charging.
I'm at 98 percent with a battery health of 145 cycles, that's fine 80 later. Two years is completely normal according to Apple, so it's fine there, but if we take a look at my battery yesterday, I only had two hours and five minutes of active screen Time 5 hours and 17 minutes of idle screen and I used more than 75 percent of my battery there is really no reason for this. I wasn't using it as a camera or anything intensive the day before, those three hours and 12 minutes of active screen time and I used over 50 percent of it, it's really draining very quickly for me now that I was on the previous version of 16.4 era much better to double the amount of active screen time, although it wasn't perfect so I may have to completely erase this device, hopefully it will be fixed in the future, but maybe I will erase it and

start

again. and see if I can actually fix those battery issues, it could be my car keys as they require a lot of location information when you walk by them so it could be partly what's causing the problem but not yet is really acceptable for As far as the overall performance is concerned, the performance seems to be fine, whether it is the iPhone 11 or the iPhone 14 pro Max or aolder phone, going into different apps, whether it's the camera or something else, it seemed to be fine now, speaking of the camera, the camera doesn't seem to be fixed now.
I showed this in video 16.4. If I just take a photo here on the 11 and then take a photo or a screenshot here, generally it renders it now, it seems to be more the 14 pro doing the issues or causing processing issues, so if I take a photo here and I share it again, you can see how it looks, it seems fine, but again people are saying that it's too much processing, there's too much HDR and Apple really needs to give us a switch or fix that or just find some kind of solution As for the heat of the device, this has been cold the entire time so no problems.
I know some people are worried about that, but it's barely warm. with the screen on throughout this video there is no problem at all while it is warmer outside, I really wouldn't worry. Now let's go ahead and take a look at some of the comments and see what you had to say. Richard Gilbert said on iOS 16.5 using an iPhone 14 proMax and having problems with the internet, says it's connected but has no service Andy Corton said I'm using iOS 16.5 beta 1 on my iPhone 11. It seems fine, battery life Alright. Apple Music problems are or seem to be fine now, but look at that a few times later. charging my iPhone 11 I received a prompt to enter my password to use iCloud again Nate Tech said iPhone 14 pro Max 16.5 DB1 I had an issue the morning after installation where Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular wouldn't stay on.
I would turn it back on in the control center, then everything would shut down and restart. This issue has been fixed and there have been no errors as the battery life has improved every day since installation, it is much closer to what was expected from a 14 Pro Max yesterday Screen at 4.25 hours. on time and using 35 to 40 percent of my battery 1 hour and 38 minutes of that I was playing eight ball pool Ross Spencer said iOS 16.5 has worked well so far on my 14 pro Max good battery, no problems, definitely an improvement over the last updates that's all with iOS 16.5 beta 1 of course I expect more features with beta 2 and even more with iOS 17.
Let me know if you found anything else.
