Apr 03, 2024
Welcome back to

episode

three of my show

review

s. This will be the most exciting

review

you will ever do. This is the race for the

million

. This is the one we were waiting for and I waited until after the embargo, obviously to talk. about it, but now everyone has seen the results on Facebook and the Internet. I'm going to come right in and say this is the best kind of rain I've ever seen in my life. 16 horses, all 16 were great. It was phenomenal, my favorite quote of all after that is from a trainer from Florida, Mark Corrington, he said on Facebook that you know it's raining badly when you come in with a 76 horse, no it's not enough, it was amazing to see, and six to the less.
episode 3 the run for a million 2022 review
Six, maybe seven people are headed for the best race of their lives and one of them wants it. It's pretty incredible to see this event and what it is, so before we get into anything, we have some numbers. I'm going to read on my computer for a bit, so don't be alarmed if I talk to anyone else, but as for the numbers, here are things: 16 races, average score for those who know math, know how impressive that will be, the average score of 16 horses was 227 and a half and the average score was 228 and a quarter, which is an incredible number with any number of horses and obviously the more you get the lower it will be, but even with 16, even with 16 selected, It's an incredible diet, I guarantee it's the highest ever. in a single event, um, between five judges, 16 horses, that is, 640 maneuvers evaluated, 60 of them 6-0, 60 or more one and a half, that is, 9.375 percent of all the maneuvers evaluated received what the nrha judges who were in last year's Fraternity Tenants had a maneuver plus one and a half out of 32 races, drawing three-year-olds versus older horses.

More Interesting Facts About,

episode 3 the run for a million 2022 review...

I get it, but that's an incredible feat and it shows how focused everyone was when they came in, um, two horses did it. Something I had never seen before is that more than one and a half maneuvers for the five judges. You'll usually see three or four of them agree to get all five judges, which means it's one of the best moves you'll ever see. I see that maneuver ironically both left and left set of circles uh talking ghost trash with Andrea mystery with Arnold Onstetter was awesome let's start with the 16th spot and Matt Palmer The frozen shiny gun marked at 220.
episode 3 the run for a million 2022 review
Yeah, I just said the spot 16 with a 220. They both ran and wanted to make a big stop, but the lack of familiarity or unfamiliarity with this team showed just a little as there was a slight miscommunication, so smoothness wasn't exactly what what you want, a big quick step. and the first turn maybe not as smooth as it should be big penalty for a voided point um second turn it's better to meet safety a little bit up at the end just to make sure it doesn't tip over and Matt dug a hole right next to the But he didn't start off as well as he wanted now he shows his ability as a showman Matt shines turning horses he's always done it since I've known him that being said this thing rents circles on a rail Lucas I can't pronounce his last name he trained This horse does very well in the circles.
episode 3 the run for a million 2022 review
Matt showed it so well in the circles. He runs over a railing. Big slowdown. Big leadership change. I mean, it's where that couple shined that night and looked great, especially on the set on the left. of circles where it had um where it had everything from one and a half to half how many circles but most of them were ones and up plus ones and up um their first stop pretty much the same as running, they just didn't quite do it. they connect and when they don't connect, the front block locks slightly, um, excellent recoil, the left main stop, so the stops leading to the second around the side that is one of the solid group plus one looked really very Well, the last stop is bigger than the first two they still have a slight shake to them, so the one on the left was probably the best.
It's a great running and handling quality, but there's just some softness that needed to be there for that to stop. Unfortunately, but man, that's a cool horse. A lot of people didn't get to see him until he came here to the States and I'll tell you they are a great couple and if Matt qualifies it won't be bad to show them again, especially with a little more time and a little more to get to know him Place 15 The Sean Florida's ghost has a spark score of 222 after the only review of the show Sean had the worst first maneuver, the worst maneuver overall in this from the beginning and it kind of sucks because it sank what could have been a great career, he shouts, don't have trouble finding the terrain to start with, and then tried to backtrack to the left twice.
It's a minus one maneuver all day at judging school, it could have been a minus one and a half for someone now who said Sean showed the consummate professional he is by rearranging and turning, plus one both ways went into his circles and for this event it was a little easy, but they still would have been big circles anywhere else. I'm serious. Ram circles, it was good, it just was. It wasn't as dynamic because he didn't know that he wasn't going to catch it, so he saved his horse a little bit and went a little bit more in the second set.
He also looked a little more like the usual he does and then at the first stop he had trouble getting to the ground. Sean drives it but he makes it work and that's what you do. The second stop was the best one yet, um, but it's not what that team is capable of. It was good, but it is. it doesn't have the same ability that they are normally used to and on the last stop it protects and makes sure it stays on the ground it still does very well now I said it was a little soft on the circles maybe it was just the right circle because its best The maneuver was actually his left circles according to the scores, he had four ones and one, one and a half, one judge plus one and a half, um, not the way you want to see that team match up, but that's show horses and if someone had to do it.
If I made a mistake I wouldn't have bet on Sean but the proof is that it happens to even the best of the best and Sean was one of my favorites and I was hoping he would make it and it didn't work out tonight but he'll probably be a great horse. great football everyone should be proud of that horse no matter what I mean he did it last year the year before he was close and this year he was just unlucky so I hope if he comes back luck is a little better for them in In 14th place we have Billy Williams who came after all one in Gunner for chicks on March 2nd 22 and a half Billy was lucky to even be in the event due to Sierra's withdrawal it didn't seem like he wouldn't It seemed like the stage was too big. for him, he ran that thing hard, he stopped, he rebalanced slightly, okay, it's still a very good maneuver, so he backs up and when he goes to turn, Billy turns that thing monstrously both ways.
Now the style is a little more from a few years ago. The judges didn't let it get to them, they marked him accordingly, he became fast, really great, probably the horse's best maneuvers were his correct turns, in fact judging by what they were, it was four ones and one one and one. half or sorry four one and a half and more half um but that's what that horse does best is turn now when he turns smooth and graceful lead change buttery slow buttery could have been early on his second lead change um and when comes to the end on his last three stops, they're all big and dynamic, there's just a little bit of softness that's not quite present in some of the horses you see at the end of this event or later in this event, um, big pullbacks in both. ways and the last one from him the second stop from him is a little tight in the front that's where the 222 and a half comes from is not a score that I would disagree with.
If I had seen a race like that, Mark higher in smaller events, I think there was something in the air that made them mark this way and I'll tell you I wasn't that far off from him. He was a little taller than Billy, but it was still a great race and got the crowd excited. when he came in he was the first one out, he wasn't supposed to be there until a couple of months ago, he ran on the other veteran horse that was taken out of retirement, give Billy all the credit in the world for the work he showed on this horse It was amazing, great job on his part now that we have a tie for 12th and 13th.
I'm going to start with Craig Schmersel and what a wave 225 and a half, the oldest horse in the group. It looks like one of Craig's rooms, plus there are great maneuvers everywhere. He makes his first save, as does one of Craig's. He is big, he is round, he is framed. I mean, that's the problem he's running into here. At any event, it's a great stop. in this event it's the average stop, what a wave has shown over the years, that he's a great horse, he did it again tonight or tonight, it's just one of those things that the dynamics have changed so much in the years since that horse was active. shown full time and running first world titles and when he won and when he was booked the nrvc and when he won the gold medal in the wag um it's still an impressive and incredible career.
I think What Wave might be my favorite son of Title Wave Jack. Does he ever, um, lose a step on his first set of turns, which prevents him from being the step and a half that he needed and he did it in about half a second, it was cleaner and better, small close to the rollover, I think it saved him . but I'm not 100 sure it works like one of Craig, there he does everything quite a bit, without errors, technically perfect, and then the three steps are on the outside, the same, it's a great stop in this event, the second average stop was better , but it wasn't enough and the third stop was probably his best maneuver that wasn't his circles, I mean this horse turns as well as anything there, except maybe Patriot Mr Amy and um, the trash talking ghost, not yet There's nothing to be ashamed of about a great career, pulling out the Old Timer and having that. racing is one way to make Americans remember him and his breeding career should be huge in the other tie for 12th and 13th is Josh Tishman Gunner Ricochet also with the first big stop at 225 and a half Josh handles it a little more than everyone else.
Huh?, he's still really good when he goes to his first turn. Not the best start. Ricky usually removes the ring from his neck very well and just the SMS, just the smallest detail, hung just a little. little and after that he becomes normal plus one, but with that start you might consider lowering him to more half, especially where he tied late in this event where you've already seen horses just split and walk away. The second period is not so smooth. much more docile in terms of Ricky was much more willing to go but he takes him down now Josh Serpelson and this horse tries with all his heart he never puts a foot wrong in the big circles he's beautiful and I love watching that horse run because he tries a lot.
For Josh, he also tried so hard for Casey in the past, but I think there's something about that connection with Josh that's just incredible. um the slow change, the deceleration and the change is fluid, maybe not as special as something else, but it's very good and he shows his his heart even more in the second set because he just makes a great first stop and backs off, probably a second stop and the reversal is even bigger, definitely one, and the last stops of the week are because he bounces just a little when he enters the field, this horse has nothing to prove and we are splitting hairs here, but It just wasn't his night compared to what happened.
That's a career you'd be proud of anywhere. I mean, judges L5 plus one circles left. That horse was incredible. and it's a testament to the showman that Josh has become in the connection that he has with that horse, that horse's ability to try, because a lot of horses when they're gelded don't like to keep trying as hard as they do when they're a stallion and this one. It's something amazing? I love the race. I wish it had happened on a night when the competition wasn't so tough. Eleventh place Fernando Salgado is going to be a shining star 227.
Fernando is someone who I talked about as a dark horse and this run might have shown why and I'm going to say this too with all the things going on in his personal life, the fact that That he showed his horse so well is an incredible demonstration of the strength of his character, make no mistake, he didn't get the location wrong, he scored 227 in the biggest first stop ever reigning, a slight hiccup in the middle where the big star had to readjust a little, smooth, nice first spin, smooth, nice second spin, but it sank so bright the star tilts. just a little bit in the first big fast and you have a slight trip in the slow transition, you probably reduce your plus just an indicator of one to a half or one and a half to one, depending on where you are, the changes lead phenomenally um and just it turns both ways so well that its left circles are even better than the right ones because it doesn't have the stumble, it doesn't have that steering problem, it's true in the middle, it's great, in fact, it adds one to four.digitized and one and a half for the fifth um first, big and deep, I kind of wanted to escape at the end of the first recoil or after the first recoil, um, but Fernando does a great job helping him get it going, um second stop.
It's a massive stop that hangs the recoil slightly and I mean, this is where we're splitting hairs. I'm being picky here still great. I wish my horses backed up this well, but you're touching on minor details compared to the people who placed above. You and the third stop are huge, a little as tall in feet, if we're going to split hairs, that's where you have to split them, the 227 is still plus territory in almost everything took incredible turns, especially to the left, but those little ones adjustments, the first stop, the slight movement back to the right, this slight adjustment and the third stop, those little things added up.
Fernando climbed 11th and still had a phenomenal race. 10th place Danny Tremblay Tinker with dreams marked 227 and a half uh, cilantro is one of my favorite horses in this deal. It's a huge first stop. Excellent support. Typical Danny. He gets a little sloppy in his first turn, but he goes so fast that he covers it, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the things that separated him from some of the horses that became a little bit better than him. He also did better footwork in the second form, so those little markers and stuff, especially if you're someone who's a novice or rookie.
Rainer, who is viewing this review, this is where the penalties kill you. You have a horse that does the same thing that horses do with them and that point is the difference in a lot of money in this type of deal. These will stack. Danny Sources. Framed quick circle. up, beautiful, big, dynamic deceleration, we expect this from Danny, now he has almost become what the horses make of him. I mean, it looks like how a player should look now, but how they should look on the little slope, just a nice easy step with cadence. it was beautiful everything was done in a big curtain Dynamic increase going the other way huge dung in the circles because it's Danny and his left circles were incredible four judges plus one and a half to one plus one the left circles were the maneuver of the night apparently , um, gets big on the first stop, a little weak on the reversal, huge second stop, better rewind plus one all day, if not, the last stop and a half was the weakest of its group.
I think the cilantro might have been a little tired. the gas was still fine when I say the weakest that means it was more half the territory it was still fine and just one more time I'm going to throw this out there penalties kill your chances folks and Danny was actually the guy the day I was asked um I was asked Too Tall and cam essec uh the day of okay, pick who it is and I texted him and told him it's Danny. I'm taking cilantro, I don't know why he was just who. I went with I was a little wrong, but he's there, the horse is there, maneuver-wise, he's there, that's how close and tight he was, we're pulling hairs and when you have a point on penalties by judge, you suddenly know which is now. in that 231 territory and that changes things, so I hope we see Danny install it again at this event.
I hope we see Danny show off his horses all the time like he does because he is phenomenal at it and he was one of those. says it was really fun to see Ninth Place Francesco martinotti smoking 228 and a half trash if you listen to my preview podcast with Andrea you know I have great respect for Francesco and this horse and I made a comment that I regret saying but at the same time is exactly what he did: this horse needed to keep his attention on the ride in order to reach the first stop. Francesco handles him with just a touch to make sure the attention is maintained and he is a monster stop and back Francesco has become a phenomenal showman who can adapt so smoothly and smoothly having a great horse like this helps clean up dynamic turns and technically competent both ways, the second way almost makes it look too easy, like there isn't enough challenge there and That's what I'm wondering because this horse turns very well but makes it look easy, while the horse that was two ahead of him and Jordan McBurney turned with all that lead flight and made it look dynamic.
I think Francesco's horse just looks so good. Smooth and easy, it's harder to add even though it might be a technically better turn. Brands turned beautifully, not exactly up to speed and Dynamics to go up and down in speed. Others went a little faster, at least it seemed like they did. he said this is a smaller horse so maybe he can't cover as much ground as easily um and Francesco does a typical thing that you see a lot now of pulling the reins on that deceleration because he knows how good that slow thing looks um technically correct to the nth degree, it lacked a bit of dynamism.
I know it's a weird word to use here, but he just didn't have that factor that some of these other races are going to be a little bit higher. I'll still have a phenomenal track. I wish he could have run that well, but that's where this horse separates himself from the top four, four or five, six, maybe because that's where Jason was. um beautiful, the first stop, a solid putback, the second stop is not that great even more and the third stop was probably the best race of this horse's career or the best race of this horse's career.
I love this horse, he makes it look so easy, that's what I want in a horse, but when you get one that makes it look that easy and it's just that you're going to give it to him a little bit faster and that's what happened for Separate him from that top section, he's still a great horse and still shows a lot more in front of him, who knows, maybe Francesca will bring him in. He'll be back next year if he qualifies or if he's already qualified in the shootout so correct him maybe bring this one back maybe bring that other horse but I think he should bring this one back and this one just gets older and more strong.
I think this might be something that could break him through and now for my other big winner, Jordan McBurney, and nobody's whiskey scored a 229 for 8th place in a big all-around stop, I've got a tidbit here and it's just this horse and I know he does this and it's not pulling on the brake it's not as rude as it seems but it detracts from the picture when he opens his mouth he has a little hiccup at the back so that stop for me will be a little less , little by little. Harder to overcome than most of the stops and backs you see tonight, take a right step.
Jordan saves him, but still, now, when he gets to the turnaround, from this point on, the phenomenal run becomes huge and with that big old main, Nobody's Own Whiskey makes it look even more dynamic, I don't mind. misunderstand, it spun, it spun a rocket, it spun like a rocket, but you know, when those nice Buck furs turn into that hair, it goes flying when they have so much, it turns it into something. makes it much more appealing to the eye especially for a crowd and as predicted Jordan was a crowd favorite running in um that place got rowdy even on camera so um fast circles technically correct , beautiful, slow, steady, small, slow on that right side. um and then changes direction stable again speeds up just as she asks runs perfect I mean at this point I'm saying it's already Ronald Jordan's best race and she's had some great lead changes beautiful great first stop cut pick up get I think he took off a front shoe right there because I know he lost a shoe at the first or last wrap stop.
I think it was the first one because that's where it looked like he stepped on it, um monster. The monster's second stop, the monster, would have been even closer to being a small and a half step forward at the end. Jordan saves, makes a great backslide from there and a great last stop that 229 is the best part of that race because I'm not necessarily friends with Jordan, but I know her well enough to know how much that meant to her and a scene where They called that score and seeing the tears on his face on camera was just cool because it was that race. and you knew it and it was amazing and every other year she is champion, this year she is in 8th place, that's how difficult it gets, so congratulations Jordan, congratulations to the Strouds, congratulations to the horse because he had the race of his life, not my best performance of the night.
Seventh place Sean McBurney and the sleazy little lady March 229 and a half I'm not saying they overdid it because we did it, they couldn't do it. I'm saying whatever they accomplished because it's about a four-year-old facing a corral. of seasoned show horses and some of the best of all time, and she's right in the middle of them now that we're done talking about the horse. Sean demonstrated his level of showmanship when he shows one that he has the guts to throw it into a full-on show. draped, I mean, we're talking about the pleasure horse, Drake, the reins were down, we're on our knees when she ran in the corral and went a mile, but it's a shame it's choppy in the front, which keeps it from being a. and a half because the degree of difficulty is better for the speed and the curtain beautiful beautiful beautiful configuration if it had been a little looser you are there solid soft first turn weaker but still strong second turn this one from Mary so it's a It looks a lot like Miss Dreamy in a different way but with a lot of double expressions when she is very nice, very fun to watch, she looks happy doing her job, that's what we like to see such big and fast hits on a railing and this is where she comes from The expression.
The exit is when she is spinning, it is a dynamic closure. Sean never touched her face until she changed leaves. She is better on the small and slow in the second direction because she already slowed down much better, on big and fast, this mayor improved on the left side, just go and monstrous. The first stop after the lead change around the side with the left row back is completely challenged because Sean's hands are still down, there it is, come on, I dare you, they marked him second, same thing, I mean, it's down there and drugs his ass.
It was beautiful, the third stop was still a challenge, maybe it's not as deep or as deep in the ground, so some people may not like it as much, but I mean, when five judges plus one of three of your maneuvers are good, something true, Sean, many people will say that he. he got under the mark because he challenged him so much. I hired him just for a pinch, but once again we're splitting hairs here. I'm half a point above where they had it. I'm not going to argue with them. this was phenomenal and I only saw it from a screen that they saw in person and sitting there live once again this couple had a career ahead of them she is four years old she still has two more years in the Derby and maybe another two or three years of this The event is gone if she continues to be like this because how is she going to come back after Sean challenged her so much?
It's an incredible thing, great work all the way around and I think you should be very excited for the future, which is number six. The place was Jason Van Laningham and the best shine he scored at 2 30. Yes, I just said that sixth place was a 2 30. Um, this works much better. I mean, he's always been great, but I mean, he runs and makes a huge save. a small step of control in the race and it could prevent it from being bigger first than the first one becomes huge. It's a big dynamic stepper that slides trying to stop and could have tipped over.
Was that second close term the exact same term as the first. Better to finish well. on the button the best shine never moves his top line in the whole set of circles, I mean when he rebalances he raises his shoulder his neck never moves it's beautiful he could have risen through a main chain just a little, but both. circle sets are great sets, I mean you're talking about them all over the place in this pattern and then the typical best Json timing stops around the end, all three there's nothing you can say about it that isn't very good , maybe excellent, but I mean.
At least one stop, it was huge, it was great once again and I will say this, you will hear it a lot as we go. Jason had the best race he's ever had on this horse, probably the best friend he's ever had. I had the best race with this horse and it wasn't enough tonight, that's how good this horse show was and that's nothing to be ashamed of because this horse has proven to be a show horse, we all know Jason has proven to be a show horse. high level. Showman's 6th place sounds good, well they were in the middle of the pack, well, middle of the pack at 2 30.
That wins in almost any event. My hat goes off to these guys for being so tough and doing it right. Fifth place, Arnold. Honstetter and Miss Dreamy with 231.This was my choice because I thought a lot of people were going to give me a hard time and they didn't do it as much as I thought. That being said, they are not approved in everything I do. predicted that the mayor tried so hard for him at the first stop that it becomes a great weekend a little at the end at the first, it could have been a setback.
I don't think they called her for that, but she was close to it. The second period wasn't as strong as the first turn, I mean, that's a plus, but we're nitpicking, we're splitting hairs here. Mystery might be one of the most eh horses I've ever seen circled with the most expression. Multiple coaches have shown him a lot at 13 years old, multiple non-professionals, he still looks happy and nice all the time. It is one of the nicest images and the easiest. One of the easiest horses to handle. Also, in that menu, it stops hugely on it. first surround stop I mean the first stop at the end she goes and drags her butt she has to rebalance she doesn't downplay the maneuver the second stop was better than the first even because it was just as big but she stayed solid the whole way she never had what to choose.
I will say this: she didn't stop as much as some of the others, but she stopped so deep that it's such a pretty picture and it's so good that Arnold took a chance on his last stop and pushed him up the leaderboard a little bit and That's what he did, he pushed his hand forward and said I dare you not to mark me, he gave that mayor every chance to be naughty and go out and do something wrong and that mayor stayed true to being true. such a good mayor, such a proven mayor and I didn't even mention her best move with her life.
She set up a circle. She's the only other horse besides the trash-talking ghost plus one and a half for the five judges rolled into one. maneuver and that was his life a series of circles an incredible race it was just one of those things where when you're in fifth place with a 231 I don't know if that's happened before and like I said Arno Brenda cares uh we're Los Christians and everyone involved with this horse should be very proud of this, very proud of the fact that yes, they came out of retirement to make this race, she made the race she needed, it was just that one night where the greatness was all around parts. she and she turned out to be one of the great ones, one of the greatest parts, not very vigorous, an incredible mayor and I hope to see more in the future, even if it is the fourth place Next Generation, Kate McCutchen, and the modern Gunn 231 and a half.
Kate probably had the best first stop and backup of anyone in the corral, I mean, she maxed it out, it was monstrous and I mean, she ran that thing full speed, stopped the big Mickey didn't miss a beat, bam, uh, the first one quarter was dynamic, beautiful and smooth. not exactly that Elite group of the Mavericks, the trash talking Spooks and the smart uh Patriots of the world in the second turn is the same thing, I mean, he won both ways, he might have a bit of a funky ending there and the horse. He was surprised Kate could have caught him with her furs to lift him up and make sure he didn't, the backside didn't fall apart like he buckled his belt um and Kate went all out and got a lot I mean it was That's why Mickey was with him all the time and both sets of circles are just, it's hard when you compare a horse that might be the best circle in the world or nrha history to one like Patriot or one like trash talk and Scared Mickey, which is a great horse in his time.
It turns out that he is a great horse in the era of other all-time great horses. um, huge, clean, nice stops and rollbacks, probably the right one. I would have won and a half. stop the recoil right, so the second that was said they didn't want it to happen across the board. um Kate probably did the best job showing what she had and maximizing and I'm saying this about a horse that I'm one of my all-time favorites I loved him I've loved him his entire career, maybe he just didn't have enough strength to compete. with those first three, um, his best maneuver and everything was his left circles, that being said, I think he stopped that.
The first big save was huge and I think his circles with the bow were incredible. Kate should be proud. All owners of this horse should be proud. He is one of the best. She was just in the pen with probably two or three of the best. of all time and a fourth place in this corral is nothing to sneeze at in a great streak and that's where we should leave it that is it was a great streak third place quesadillion America's Next Top Gun 233 and a half could be the most dynamic race ever done the KCM Maverick, probably not the smoothest because it would probably be the nrbc championship in 2020.
The first stop was huge, but it was a little stiff in the front, turns monstrously one and a half both ways probably. It should have been one and a half on both if you're going to be completely honest, it was a little safe finishing both, but that horse spins so well that it spins in circles Big, smooth and happy like Maverick always does. I almost wonder if he makes it look so easy that that thing moved and booked over there, but it didn't look like he was working hard as the two horses that finished ahead of him, their first stop with the left backing looked more like Maverick, you're losing your front stops. great plays through a putback his second stop might be the best stop that horse has ever made he wanted half of that easy I'm pretty sure he wanted to have to make each of the judges um that's the great exceptional quality that we expect from that horse, his last stop was the weakest of his enveloping stops, but better than the first, probably still an advantage and that 233 and a half was well learned.
Personally I had it a little lower, but when we talk about the difference between s77 and a 77 and a half, you are splitting hairs, it was an incredible race and any other event wins the championship here it was the third best, plays the third best and that It's nothing to be ashamed of in this group. I mean, Casey and Maverick have been a great team and they proved it once again with a stellar stellar career that only makes more people want to breed with that horse. Your reserve champion talks trash and scares Andrea papani Mercado 234 the first stop and the last stop you could argue Andreas does shows The Horseman he is saving him off balance, stop on the first still big, he is not as smooth as other horses in his big, he's a monster Turner in both ways Wright was big, the lift was even better, it's amazing, it should be a year and a half for everyone, not everyone did it, but that's the epitome of that style of horse doing a um and a half, the first set of circles were actually very good, it was big, slowed down, beautiful, beautiful lead change, the second set is even more on the rail. he loves the little decelerations in the middle of the fall, he hits that big boom quickly, it's incredible, his first two stops around the sides are big and dynamic and honestly the last stop probably cost him the title, whether it's the last one or the first , because he needed to rebalance. in the middle and took what could have been a half back um easily since the best maneuvers are his left circles, but you could also argue for his left turns.
Lefty showed again in a race that there aren't many. The horses are better, unfortunately for this team, they just took on one of the greatest races of all time and they were there, they were there until the end and that maneuver after maneuver could have been right for Patriot, but those two little guys. Tawdry mistakes are what keep the horse and the Patriots apart from each other. Patriot was smooth throughout. Lefty was dynamic throughout and smooth will be dynamic if you also have Dynamics, the winner, uh, Nathan Piper. Patriot score 235. my opinion. the best race I have ever seen, the score did not set the record, it was a point and a half less.
I went back and saw custom Legends 236 and a half. Scott always has 236. Both incredible races and ahead of his time. I have never seen a race this good with that high degree of difficulty without mistakes, you can't criticize that race and find something that didn't work well, there is a stop that is more half instead of one, okay, that's something that everyone we wish we could do um he was one in one and a half all around on his third stop so that would be his stop on the left lead coming down the near side of the Arena the best I've seen Patriot stop his run and stop backward. up was also up there it's one of the best stops that horse ever made, he turned a point and a half both ways and he liked the way the horse and the garbage bags could turn, it's the argument for adding two more to this because we are getting to that level, there are so few horses that can do it, I don't think it's necessary, it's amazing, Patriot, it's one of the best races of all time, no matter what happens in your career, yeah They show him again, he's amazing, um. and it doesn't take away from anyone else what they did or didn't do that night, it's just when you have a horse that has no talent and at that level it's hard to beat him.
Nathan should be incredibly proud of the preparation, training and racing he did. all about that Nathan should be proud of the reading he should be proud to own this horse the farrier that works with Nathan should be proud of the good job he has done the vets that helped get him there and prepare him and took care of him, the assistance to Nathan who worked for him the entire time he had this horse, everyone should be proud of the work they did, whether it was a small part or a big part, with this horse and the fans should be proud of the fact that they got See to one of the best jockeys, one of the best races in nrha history, it was incredible and you would be hard pressed to find a better race than this in the modern era.
