The three will dance to Dua Lipa's "Levitating" with DaBaby! Let's go... Is this how he does it?? Let's go. Shall we go down? Or just lip sync. ♪ Let's go ♪ CHOREOGRAPHER #1: BRITTANY CAVACO BRITTANY: Hello, my name is Brittany Cavaco, I have danced for companies such as English National Ballet and Los Angeles Ballet, and I am also your Introduction to Ballet instructor at STEEZY Studio. ! I've been dancing ballet for... over 20 years. Getting older... As ballet

, we don't usually dance to pop music. It was very, very fun, but definitely difficult to find the right moves to go with its upbeat pace.

Ballet is all about storytelling, but it's a little more difficult for modern storytelling. You can't just say: DEATH. My piece was definitely inspired by “Swan Lake.” I made my costume for this. You should have seen me with my hot glue gun. I thought it was cool because swans are like...they fly. So like

, I thought it was like, maybe I got in my head too much with this. One thing I also had to think about was how my pointe shoes would look on cement. Jumping on concrete is a dancer's worst nightmare. Don't worry, it was fine, but it was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy it.

BRITTANY: I mean... are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? WILL: She did that by the way. Hey. Yeah! WILL: How beautiful! YEAH! WORK! Ha! Ha! Those feet... Work, come on! Yeah!! WILL: Yaaaayyy~ BRITTANY: Come on fouette's! Let's go~! WILL: I can't even do that... flat. I literally have chills. I have real chills. Oh, she still goes! Oh my God! Hey hey! Those are... I had chills several times. WILL: That's SO far outside my physical capacity, I'm like, "I wonder what that feels like." How does it FEEL to SPREAD like that behind your back? What an experience that must be... BRITTANY P: There is also elegance in simply being in a position. You can stand there and just be, you can be in that Relevé and just be, and it's effective. WILL: The sense of musicality that he had, it's very different from how I would approach the

, and he has this way of extending accents and rhythms that I think is incredibly cool.
BRITTANY: He still has the technique down. We still watched the ballet. We still saw the tip. WILL: That kind of STEP of accents through lengthening. BRITTANY: And she was dancing with Dua Lipa, okay? WILL: Take risks with your creations and be bold with your choices. I think that's something exciting. CHOREOGRAPHER #2: WILL JOHNSTON WILL: Hello, everyone. My name is Will Johnston. I am the co-founder/co-director of Entity Contemporary Dance and I am also a contemporary dance instructor here at STEEZY Studio. Overall, stylistically, my movement can definitely be classified as Contemporary, but to me it's really like a celebration of many different influences.
I love and appreciate every aspect of every small community I've been a part of and I really try to celebrate it by incorporating it all in one place. And I think that's visible in what he was doing today through musicality and use of form. First, I do an Axel, which, if you know what an Axel is, is a SUPER Jazz studio, but it's VERY effective. So I thought, "Yeah, I'm going to do this." The other elements that I think really, again, show this idea of celebrating fusion are the use of isolates and accents, which I was really, for the first time, introduced to through Hip Hop.
I was like, "What is all this?" A lot of that comes together to make this piece for Dua Lipa. BRITAIN P: Ah! BRITTANY C: Ohh, that eye contact! Come on!! Oh, this is delicious! Hello! Yeah! Oh! I love those hips! Oh yeah! Oh?! The lines! Oh, it was so sensual! Come on, Will! Hey! Hey! YEAH! Tension... okay! Ah! Ohhhh! Ohhoho, I love that! Oh Lord! Oh yeah! I'm sweating. Did I just dance? I'm confused. Oh my God! The dance is SO cool! I love to dance! I really do! Now I'm going to cry! BRITTANY C: I loved how comfortable he was in front of the cameras.
There was so much confidence in everything he did and it seemed so easy. BRITTANY P: I have the biggest smile on my face. The SHAPES I was making, are you kidding me? Oh my goodness... With musicality on top of THAT? BRITTANY C: She does a really beautiful job of FINISHING each movement and holding it, that beautiful, buttery transition to the next. BRITTANY P: Brittany had musicality, Will had musicality and they did two completely different styles. I'm surprised: the dancing is amazing! I love when he liked his hips to the beat. It was hot in that studio, but I was like, "Wow, okay, hello~!" BRITTANY P: First of all, he pulled an Axel.
I saw that, Will. Saw that. I loved! There is still presence. Don't forget that just because you're doing all this and moving all this, you still have this. CHOREOGRAPHER #3: BRITTANY PARKS BRITTANY: Hello! My name is Brittany Parks. I have danced for Beyoncé and Megan The Stallion. And I am currently a jazz instructor at STEEZY Studio. ing was to listen to the music. Let the music tell you what to do. So I did it! "Shine in the sky", "Heaven", it's there for you, you know? Like Dua, yes! Shine in the sky!
I let the rhythm take me to what Jazz moves me to happen or what Jazz Funk needs to happen. Dua Lipa's lyrics and the way she sings them, ♪ Gotcha ♪ Like, OOH! the "tuuuu"? You can't help it, but like... Ah! Stretch to that! It's there for you. I just let the music speak to me. BRITAIN: "Brittany", what a great name. WILL: Oh, come on Brittany! Oh..! She's just a queen. Hey. Come on, Brittany! Oh! Beautiful... her face, she I love how she acts she, she hears! Oh I love it! Look at her face all the time! Wow!
Her eye contact, ugh! Yes... Hey, hey, hey! Oh yes... Oh, the hips! Yeah! Yeah! Ha! That was so good! Come on, Brittany! What a good interpreter! I'm thinking I have to work on my performance at 1000%. BRITTANY: Not only did she captivate me from the beginning, but she also has such a beautiful presence on camera and in real life. WILL: It's not always the best idea to like, force a face, that doesn't work. This, I like, STILL requires being familiar with knowing how to express yourself through her face. BRITTANY: It's a feel-good piece. When you dance to it or when you look at it, you can't help but smile and you get a lot of serotonin.
WILL: That's why it's also so much more exciting to watch it when it's real, like that, because it's magical... and... BRITTANY: Really key in her emotion throughout all of this, her eye contact. WILL: There's a deliberation in her approach. You don't have to think now: "She's okay, from now on, like..." "I'm not going to lose my eyes on the camera." But know WHEN and where those moments feel good and commit to it. BRITTANY: She took the time to do a little jump or she even had that moment that really stuck with me when her head went up towards the ceiling, her chest was completely out.
WILL: When I can see something like this that makes me smile, I think, "Oh, I don't smile much when I dance." But today I did it. Yes, thank you Brittany! That was so beautiful.
