Alright guys, welcome back to the channel behind me. I've got the smuggler ready for

duck

season. I went fishing the other day on the new little

boat

and I told them I was going to make a video about the smuggler and the

duck

bite that I have and this is the duck tie right here, this thing is an 18 foot

boat

long and 72 inches wide at the bottom, it's actually just a flat bottom, a huge flat bottom with a center console, this is the

blind

I pulled. This is a tube shutter from one manufacturer. I just bought the fittings online and then

made

the conduit that I had to cut.

Go find a conduit. Cut the duct. I have all this material for

blind

s. This is an old camouflage. I'm going to come and show you exactly what I did, but I'm really excited about blind duck season coming up, it's a few days away so we're really excited about duck season, it's really just the beginning of teal season. and geese, it's still August right now. but as soon as September comes, the goose and the teal will be here, so we'll do some of that, but we're going to show the blind a little bit, so the first thing I've done is jump in. in a minute, but this is the outside, this is an old camo, just the old one, I think it's like avery grass blind, I mean, it was on the boat last year, it wasn't on this type of blind, it was just a scissor blind and the scissor blind.

I'm not going to lie to you guys the scissor blind sucked, I mean this is way better and probably almost the same price as the scissor blind, in fact the only added cost of this scissor blind to this would be this material, this is 1000d Material from eBay. I'll put that link in the description below. A nice gentleman from Ohio Waterfowl Hunters recommended this to me and he recommended it to a bunch of other guys. I got up there and asked him and he said this is what it is and so far. It's pretty durable, I mean it's like the A-frame material that you guys would have on your avian xa frames.

It's probably a little more solid than most of the design line stuff I've had, definitely awesome stuff, but what? What I did was I took this bungee cord, so this black thing I attached it to the bottom of the blind and I did it on the top two, I just attached it down, but I attached it to the bottom and I ran it down, probably three foot three. four feet each section and tied it directly to the blind fabric material and then all the way down to the other end. This is actually a separate piece right here, but to show you this, it keeps the blind down and that was the easiest way I thought of doing it was I

some hooks that are just screwed into the boat to hold it down and the same thing with the top, I just took a piece and ran it all the way down from one side to the other. it's tied here and I stretched it quite a bit before I actually tied it because it was very very loose but it's pretty tight and then I just zip tied the blind grass, I just zip tied each piece of blind grass, you know, two or three. times on each section of blind grass so you can see my sections are probably only a foot, foot and a half wide, they're different on each side and this is a little old.

I didn't really cover the entire boat because of the weight. Problem: This piece isn't even actually zippered or it broke but I'll have to fix that, but it's pretty plain on the outside, no big deal for the canvas part, it's a pretty good cover, no flip top. blind, we'll go over that in a moment, but there's no drop top line, this is open in the back right here, I'm just zip tied to the top, I mean, I probably could have found a different way to do it, but its material is solid all the way to the top and then it just has a cord down here that can be easily removed and I'll show you how I'm going to carry it.

This has to go up the blind to transport it, so we're going to jump on top of the boat and I'll show you around, I'll show you exactly what I did with the maker's pipe. Those things are just amazing. I am not sponsored by them. I mean, I have no affiliation with them, but this is it. definitely the way to go for these blinds, I mean it's so easy to make. I think all the pipe material from the maker maybe cost me 60 bucks which is super cheap and I'll show you those connections and how I did it on the top okay guys now we're at the top of the boat we're right inside and I'll show you exactly what I did here first.

This is my front piece that simply folds down and flips down to the right. on top and I'll have this other piece here that folds up and in the middle I have a half inch piece of conduit that goes between the three quarter inch couplings or fittings or whatever you want to call them, but you can remove them. that in the field and I'll take it off when I'm driving too, but you can put it like this and then it'll be a little difficult with one hand, but it comes off like that, the other side comes out and then you can roll it. up and it's easily removable and the reason I have it is because I have this trolling motor now.

I don't plan on using a trolling motor much while hunting, but if I need to I can take it out and I can just flip this trip up, I do whatever I need to do, we're usually hunting in pretty shallow water so So having this 70 pound thrust trolling motor is actually very useful during the season, but that's the part, you just flip it up and you even have sort of a rain cover for half the deck, which which is super nice, we can store a lot of stuff in there, we'll probably put a grill under it, anything to cook with, maybe some blind bags and stuff, there's all kinds of hidden space in there, but This is the top of the blind .

This is inside the boat. I mean, it's super, super simple. I have a ten foot piece of three-quarter inch conduit and then it connects here because I couldn't get a long enough piece. I think the total length is. almost 16 feet, so I have the three-quarter inch connection of the manufacturer's pipe right here, connecting this piece and this piece and that goes up both sides and then I'll show you guys a little better. I'll move this down again, this is the manufacturer's three quarter inch pipe flange connection I have one here I have one on that side then I have one on each back corner back there and then back there and then in the center I put this extra pull up I have this pull on this side this one just runs to each side of the console and I got that pull on that side and this holds a three quarter inch piece of conduit that is again connected by the fabricator tube.

This is a T connection. You can see it there. Key connection in both. sides and it's pretty simple up here, I just have the right angle connection on the four posts that hold the duct and it's pretty sturdy, I mean, a lot stronger than the scissor blind and this is super sturdy here, I mean, you can shake this. and it moves a little bit, but it's pretty sturdy, you can place your weapons on it, you can reach it if you need to, it won't affect much, I mean if you hit it too much it will definitely be ruined. but so far so good, looks like a pretty sturdy place, pretty sturdy, pretty sturdy blind and then you can reach well as shown on the outside, you can reach these connections here so you can pull the blind down and put it all inside if Yes you want, we'll be mainly on the outside raising and lowering the blinds, but we can do it on the inside and for the back, here I just have and this is zip tied here and it overlaps a little bit.

You don't get that sunlight there, but this is so you can reach the outboard. You can do all the things you need. I mean, it's pretty simple, just this whole thing is zip-tied to the top. I didn't go crazy with the camouflage. I have more of these things that look more like this one. This is the newest section I had, but it's a little shiny and stands out, so all of these things are the oldest. and I have more on this side I mean it blends in a little bit but there's definitely no uh no flip top I didn't make a flip top this year I mean we could make a flip top next year but it's just one more thing you're going to have to get in the way , so we'll hunt four people, we'll do one here, one here, one there and then I'll be up there with the trolling motor and I'll be able to get the ducks and all that different stuff, but four people pretty comfortably, okay guys, I'm done. to put the boat in transport mode.

I'll show you exactly what it looks like, the blind just folds up and then I have these little ones, let's see if I have one here. These little bungee cords, elastic straps that just lock it down each pair of feet every which way and that should keep the wind from tearing this part of the tarp, could ruin the ends of this. A little bit of flying grass, but that's not a big concern for me, but it's pretty easy to transport so once we get to the boat ramp or even if we get to the spot, we'll leave all this behind by throwing out the lures. and then we can unwrap all of this, throw it in here, we can take this elastic piece and we can just put the hook down there, so it's super simple, super awesome, super cheap.
