Turn a B650 into an X670 with this ONE weird trick!

Mar 17, 2024
Foreign level one love off label uses and creative stuff get the live mixer motherboard the

b650

no e though it has the Blazing m.2 and some other stuff some ddr5 and some pcie Gen 5, there's some Gen 5 here. I did a complete. In

this

motherboard review we talked about a special peripheral but I really want to draw your attention to

this

because is this some serious innovation that ASRock is making or are they just clever, it had a touch of genius, oh yeah this looks like a pcie card. What is this pcie card? This is the AMD chipset.

Anyone's chipset is on this pcie card. I don't want to call it

b650

chipset, but remember from the AMD motherboard block diagram architecture. Things from the day I said, well, am5, we actually have two motherboard chipsets and you. You could connect them both directly to the CPU or you could daisy chain them and most of the time they end up daisy chained for signal integrity reasons rather than connected, you know, in a dedicated way, so we shake those crazy guys, those guys very crazy. Congratulations and congratulations to you guys, this is the AMD Promontory chipset on a pcie card giving us two gigabit plus two SATA connections and yes you have to have a special control line connection, it's not just the pcie card, you can't put this on motherboards that don't have this special J2 header, which is what you know exactly what it is, but this gives you also control the BIOS, so in our special edition live mixer motherboard it must be a special edition.

More Interesting Facts About,

turn a b650 into an x670 with this one weird trick...

We have additional options in the BIOS to control the Prom 21 which is our second chipset on a pcie card, it says

x670

expansion kit

x670

expansion, but this is a b650 live mixer, what's going on there? These are the other chipsets that are not on the motherboard. Your princess is in another castle. I love this, so if you take a look at Linux for example, you're going to use this for Linux and look at the Iowa mmu Breakdown with iommu enabled plus pcie AER options configured appropriately. This is one of the few setups where you'll actually get your Downstream peripherals in their own separate mmu IO groups, which is awesome, so it's not just the CPU lanes that are separated in the Iowa Mimi. clusters, it's also other downstream peripherals, so when we did the motherboard testing it was like, oh, the IMU cluster breakdown is pretty good here, well guess what with this it's pretty good too, so you get your Dragon Lan integrated two and a half gigabit along with your 10 gigabit interface here and that will give you some options if you want to know how to do a full VM virtualization and pass through those pcie devices you can now while you can Rock m.2 raid or you know MD admin or something like that on Linux. with your two m.2 here remember you still physically only have this 3 have the bandwidth for PCI E4, whereas our interface here is pretty fast and I was hoping to think maybe they had integrated Thunderbolt into this somehow because there is a Thunderbolt header on the motherboard of the live mixer, but that wasn't the case.

So. You could add it. on a Thunderbolt controller, one that has the header and actually works, but we can't call it Thunderbolt, that's pcie4 or pcie over pci4 or the joke I made in the pcie over carrier pigeon motherboard review video, we'll call it by phone. in whatever we need to do to get those pcie peripherals where we need them and that's very exciting, so the ASRock live mixer is now a special edition board. Please note that ASRock made it just for me, you won't be able to do it. buy the add-on card or modify your motherboard or something, it's a special version of the live mixer motherboard, just keep that in mind, but I think azerox is testing the waters here, if this is an accessory you would buy, would you buy it?

I would buy a PCIe add-on card that

turn

s your something mixed in there that seems like a useful peripheral to me, I think it's cool, personally, but I think asrock is testing the waters from an engineering perspective, but I love that they're doing that. It's so amazing, so amazing to think creatively, we'll put the chipset on a pcie card yeah, it's pretty awesome. I like that it has level one without windows. This has been a quick look at the ASRock x670 expansion kit. I'd love to see creative things like this and take a motherboard chipset and put it into a pcie peripheral. to give us a cheap way to mix pcie devices, brilliant, good job, ASRock.
I want to see more of this. I want to see this on basically every motherboard I can have. I would love to have a pcie peripheral that did know a sound. card, this would work great on server motherboards that you want to reuse as a workstation. It's like if I were to use an AMD Epic as my daily driver workstation, get one of these cards, maybe with an X8 interface, do exactly the same thing. a sound card with which you will sell many of them to crazy people, it is true that there may not be enough crazy people to make it financially worthwhile, but there would be a segment that is very enthusiastic about a peripheral of this type because it is a card pcie that

turn

s a server into a workstation and that's pretty impressive.
I'm Wendell, this is level one. If you are new here, join us. We like to talk about things that are strange and creative and yet somehow very incredible. I'm dating, find me the level of foreign ways
