getting rid of my entire luxury handbag collection (Chanel, Hermes, Dior...it's just baggage)

Apr 24, 2024
I recently got rid of almost everything I own, including my clothes, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Nurturing these things in my life has been an important part of my journey of personal growth and discovery, and I have never felt more empowered and liberated in my

entire

life. I have no regrets but I still feel like there are some elements that are holding me back from my full transformation and after sitting with it for a while I realized that I need to get rid of anything that has a prominent fancy logo on it, this includes each and every one of the products. one of my designer bags why, because they no longer serve any purpose in my life, they don't define me as a human being, they don't bring any value or meaning to my life and, frankly, I'm tired of being a part of building the pack.

I've created a

luxury

designer wardrobe for invisible validation only to fall into the trap of never having enough. I am tired of living in The Matrix of mindless consumerism and have finally woken up to the toxic, comparative and competitive nature of our culture. Remove myself from the shackles that have made me feel unworthy for too long and enter my Rebirth as a confident and awakened woman, and I hope that you too will join me on this journey. Now I want to make one thing very clear. I won't do it. Shame someone for loving or collecting

luxury

items.

I think we should support each other, encourage each other, connect with each other, how can we do that if we are constantly in competition with each other? I'm all for loving fashion and expressing yourself through your personal style, but I also don't think wearing or caring for prominent designer logos on your body is the way to do it; That true personal style doesn't need to be marked on the outside with a logo, it comes from within now that has your attention. ify our out of control spending and our ridiculous luxury collections that are not limited to just designer

handbag

s.

Line number one is a good investment unless you have purchased a classic Chanel bag. in a coveted color and hardware combination about 5 to 10 years ago or in your month Birkin or Kelly in a desired color of leather Hardware amp size combination and is in perfect condition, there is no bag on the planet that is a good investment if you have a disposable income and were looking for a good investment invest in the stock market invest in real estate learn about some of the ways you can make your money work for you without using your desire for a luxury handbag as an excuse buy the bag because you love it the bag not because it is a good investment line number two is a status symbol one of the most common mistakes we make is telling ourselves that if we have an expensive designer bag others will think we are very rich and successful and if they think we are rich and successful they will respect and admire us if they respect and admire us we will have more opportunities for success and connection.
The truth is not only that all of this is not true, but the more we focus on how we are perceived by the outside world, the less we are connected to our true selves and the people around us. We become so obsessed with our appearance that we completely lose sight of what's important. Instead of connecting with others, we think about how they see us, how they see us, and how we can level up. It's a vicious cycle that makes us spend time, energy, and money on things we don't need, thinking it will fill a void. or it will make us feel better when it actually does the opposite.
Line number three is classic and timeless. How many times have you justified an expensive purchase because it is classic and timeless? I know I've done this thousands of times and have even said those exact words on my channel over and over again. It's timeless, it's classic, it's still timeless and classic. Timeless classic styles. Yes, it's true that I try to stick to purchases that are mostly classic and timeless, but that doesn't mean I have to spend a fortune on those pieces, especially if they have the brand logo; some may argue they are Birkin or Kelly. It's classic and timeless, which is true if you believe what our culture has built on these bats, but it's a classic over time.
It was for you personally. I sold my Birkin 35 in a Togo leather tube after only having it for a few months because it hit me. It didn't suit my lifestyle as a busy mother of two, it was too big to carry around all day and it wasn't practical for my personal needs and this may be an unpopular opinion but I didn't see how the quality was any more superior than the of my other designer bags considering how much more expensive it was and how difficult it was to get it, we often convince ourselves that some things are better because of all the hype surrounding them, how expensive they are and how difficult it is to acquire them. a whole façade to let you get trapped in the endless cycle of consumerism.
I wanted this bag for so long and spent so much money on it and guess what when I decided I wanted to sell it, it was a terrible investment even though I bought it. a combination of leather and coveted color hardware, so in my experience, never buy anything just because society tells you it is classic and timeless, if you can't, in Vision, how that item will fit with your lifestyle and style Personally, line number four is perfect. Passing on to Future Generations There have been many times when I was shopping at a luxury store and a sales associate told me that one day I could pass it on to my daughter.
The idea of passing something on to my daughter sounds incredible in theory. but I want to convey to you things of real feeling To the value I want to convey to you stories, life experiences and memories, not expensive bags, why does our society romanticize luxury items and want us to have these emotional attachments to objects? emotions to these items you are more likely to buy them after all you are buying it for your child not for yourself right wrong my daughter loves to have fun with fashion but you can't tell the difference between Zara and Shanan she couldn't care less about the labels inside her clothes, she only cares about how her clothes make her feel and radiate her Essence if that isn't a lesson in how to use fashion to express your authenticity and true personal style.
I don't know what lie number five is, it's difficult. To get so many luxury brands, they create these mind games with their customers telling them stories about how rare or limited certain items are, that they have to be on a weight list, they have to spend a certain amount of money, it's an easy way to catch their atention. and makes you more likely to pull the trigger on an expensive purchase is that sense of urgency and excitement you feel when you feel like you have something valuable that most others don't, after all, if you miss this opportunity, you will be almost everyone.
Sales associates who work on luxury brands work on commission and are trained to get into your brain and push the buttons that will give them the result they want for their business, don't fall into this trap, listen to your Intuition, ask yourself if you really love this item because it aligns with your personal style or you love it because of how you'll look to others wearing something so hard to get because if it's the ladder, I'm sorry to tell you. but most people don't know or don't care. I know I've said a lot of revealing and controversial things in this video and I don't want you to think I'm telling you what to spend your money on.
At the end of the day you should do whatever makes you truly happy. I want to help empower as many people as I can through the journey of finding your true personal style and part of this process is asking ourselves these questions to help. We understand if the decisions we are making have been influenced by something or someone or if we are making those decisions because they are aligned with our most authentic self when we lead our lives with our Inner Essence and the authenticity that radiates from the outside of who we are. happier, more confident and more connected people with ourselves and the world around us, that's what I want for you, for me and for all of us.
I want to leave you with this deeply revealing quote from Charles Horton coie that says, “I am not what I am.” Think I am I am not what you think I am I am what I think you think I am This quote so beautifully captures not only the complexity of our own identities, but also helps us realize that most of us live our lives from an external perspective. which leads us to believe things about ourselves that may or may not be true and to live our lives authentically. That's why I want to have more conversations like this and not just about fashion but about all the other things that are hindering our growth and authenticity in this life, if you enjoyed this video I think you'll also enjoy this one where I talk about why Fashion trends sadden and ruin us.
It would also mean a lot to me if you would consider subscribing to my channel if you haven't already. and let me know what you think about this video in the comments thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one
