s I have been fascinated with history, particularly the 1940s. So I decided to recreate the 1940s as much as I could in my own home. I'm 35 now my parents probably thought I'd run out, but I'll always live like this now I know I'll never stop growing. and I'll probably die living like this, but that's okay because I'm making sure their way of life is not forgotten and the heart of the house really is the fully restored 1890's Victorian range, every nut and bolt working perfectly.

s, it's wonderful. I use it all the time in winter. It's great, endless supply of hot water and lots of fun, but hard work in the kitchen every day is disgusting. I have a kind of modern life in a sense. I'm a cabin crew so I'm leaving, but then when I get home and I retire and I go back in time in my own little period house, this is the master bedroom. It has been a Victorian house, here it is more Victorian. because, in the '30s, visitors Ed were in the front room, so that's where you have all your modern art deco things, but in the older part of the house, where visitors wouldn't see, you had all the things used from the Victorian era. furniture, again, one of my favorite parts of the house is the location.

The view outside this window has not changed for a thousand years, being the old town church. It's a shame about modern traffic, I can't think much about it, yeah. I have one or two concessions at 40 um I don't use a microwave or dishwasher I don't go that far but I have a refrigerator I'm afraid meat safes are no good nowadays I have a refrigerator sorry I think years ago I used to hope that some One day someone would live with me and be compatible, but I think my interest is so extreme that my partner has a modern house and I have a period house. so we each have a house, it's great because not everyone wants to live like that.

I appreciate this is my old backyard, garden, my absolute pride and joy is our locally made mangrove here, my grandmother could have used this. to a neighbor of hers and yes, it was made here in our city and it is Victorian again, it survived 100 years, what can you buy now that you will still be able to use it in 100 years? It's incredible, really, I think it's so true now that the world moves so incredibly fast. I mean, I'm 35 years old and I can't keep up. I don't understand Twitter and iPhones and I really don't understand that technology moves so fast.

I think today we are more isolated. I mean, you can. I have hundreds of friends on Facebook, but do you go out and chat with your next-door neighbor over a fence? I doubt it, you know, today is scary. I think we are more isolated and have lost so much that we are just trying to preserve some of the old world charms of that period for as long as possible.
