I personally get applause from the crowd, but I lose the love of my kids, man, I failed and some people say no, man, just blow up your YouTube channel, man, it's all about the money, the cars, the growth, They are not our values. It's not Who we are, family is a value like if I finally grow my influence more than my character, I will have failed and that's why our passion is to help people crush it with social media, but not experience success and lose their soul in the process. 2022 really.
It also taught us that if I betray my community, it's you because of sponsorship from a brand I don't believe in or that is a scam. I failed and I know people can make mistakes and I'm grateful for people who take ownership, whether it's FTX. or the title and these different things. I realize things are going to happen, but unfortunately we are seeing a huge lack of integrity in the influencer space. This is not preaching from a pedestal. These are our ambitions, our ideals and our values. That's think about the media, I'm challenging you, are you expressing your values?
That's a big trend and I think it's something to take note of. Okay if you're getting value from this stream press like um and let's talk about what trends are dying and uh we'll dive into this here are some trends that I think are dying or dead in 2023 we touch on these long intros and possibly all the intros Dude, I don't need your intro, it's okay, no one gets to the point, cut out the fluff Worthless Vlogs. I think it will be difficult to be successful in vlogging in 2023 and you can watch a video in our library that Nolan and Omar made.
I'm not saying vlogging is dying, it's not worthless Vlogs that have no value proposition. is huge about the use of clickbait. Clickbait is difficult, but I truly believe that by using clickbait you are only going to erode the trust of your audience. It's a great title and thumbnail, but if the video lives up to it, it wasn't technically clickbait. If you caused the click, that's actually a good thing. What clickbait is implying is that you made a promise and didn't deliver on what I believe. What we're trying to see here is like an ancient wisdom of Jesus right where one of my favorite, I think, number one business principles of all time was stated and summed up by Jesus and he simply said, "Let your yes be yes and you do not".
Don't just be a word person, like you promise something in your YouTube title. Who would have thought Jesus would have been training us on YouTube? If you make a promise in your YouTube title, deliver it in the video if you don't. deliver it in the video Don't make a promise in the YouTube title if you make a promise in the thumbnail deliver it in the video so I think if you use clickbait too much I think you should make great thumbnails that draw people in. click and you should write amazing titles that say, oh, I have to click on that, but the key, of course, is to develop that integrity in that brand.
I know we make mistakes at think media and sometimes we can push it, we're trying, but we literally had a conversation today with Brian on our team and I was like I was watching a short film and I was looking at the title and I was like this is misaligned, this is a really good title, the content does not meet what we need to change. title, so this is a journey, it's about progress not perfection, but I think the overuse of clickbait and only sensational channels will be affected in 2023. Creators endorsing scam products, I think there will be a new standard and I think 2022 taught us that we need to be a lot more thoughtful because obviously FTX is a pretty remarkable story, it's pretty wild, it's going to be a really good Netflix special, ultimately, and it's still playing, and again, I think many creators. that backed it up they did everything they could to do due diligence, they had lawyers look at things, so you never necessarily know what's going on behind the scenes, but you know one of my favorite channels, of course, the taxabout the value that was even talked about it's like they keep hitting me like they're trying to. pay me more and more and more money and I refused because I really looked back at the business model and thought I just can't support this.
This is one of the things we just talked about at our think media leadership retreat. like listen, brand offerings we have to go through the filter at think media of a couple of things number one, it's actually a phenomenal product, two, we really love it, we use it, we've tried it and verified that it's great, three So do we like it? the terms of the deal and it's that reasonable and then four will actually create content around that so I think another level of brand integrity and sponsorship is a big deal and I'm curious what trends you think are dying or I'm dead when It's about YouTube and a couple of other marketing or social media trends that this could cause a fight.
I don't, I didn't come here to fight you, but you might be mad about this one. I think nfts are. They're going to be kind of a dying trend in 2023. You're crazy bro, listen, I'm not saying nfds are dead. I have nfts. I just don't think we see the hype and, uh, there's an amazing special on that coffee. Zilla is doing in the Logan Paul crypto zoo right now, it's amazing if you haven't seen it, and I think there's been again, there's been so much greed and lack of integrity in him that that's been damaging and then I.
I think maybe recession times and different things. I just think nfts are going to suffer, let me know what you think. I don't think anything. NFTs are a thing of the past. In fact, I think they are here to stay. I'm not going. to the extreme, they are the future, um non-fungible tokens, you know, contracts, smart contracts. I just think that, uh, the kind of artwork that's worth $678k, we'll see where it all plays out anyway. I don't think it's going to be big in 2023. Celebrity endorsements on social media. I got them from HubSpot and this would be like A-list celebrities on social media.
We saw the same thing there. Clearly, Kim Kardashian is not using the products that she was. I just paid to do it. You clearly know that this celebrity does not use it. I think there will be less effectiveness when it comes to those celebrity endorsements. Let me know what you think. The metaverse. Someone said Garyvee is coming for Sean. I own V. buddy, so I'm buying wait, I own my buddy Ryan Pineda's Tykes, uh, I think, and those are two guys as well that I support. I know them, I know Ryan better. I know Gary Moore from a distance, um, I think. individually and that is why I will also bet on projects.
I'll even buy nfts this year. I'm just telling you that I don't think it's going to be very popular publicly or have anywhere near metaverse momentum. Okay, we're throwing punches. I don't think that in 2023 the metaverse will explode. I know it's a thing. I think it's a legitimate niche if you had a YouTube channel that was all metaverse. You know, the question is how many users are there, how much interest is there, can you educate, teach about it, etc., there are opportunities in many places. Don't think this is his year. That would be a good question for you. Audio chat rooms. It's sad because I remember the Clubhouse era. Do you remember when Clubhouse came and it was the pandemic and you? I got your secret code. There was literally a time when my wife and I were walking in the park and she was pregnant and I had one ear tucked in on the opposite side of where we were walking and she was walking next to me to stay in a room. because the energy around Clubhouse was like you can't miss things and maybe they'll invite me on stage and then she grabbed me and was like, Are you listening to Clubhouse right now?
This was the first time she caught me hiding in the garage as if she was listening. clubhouse in my ears, yeah we're in counseling so ultimately I don't think there will be audio chat rooms, although I know the Twitter space is. We'll see what happens, but I think it's a dying trend. I'm curious to know what happens. These are all from HubSpot, so email them and chat with them, and these are some of the overproduced content and I think it's interesting that we're seeing overly curated content that people are saying, you sure know what people want. they want real, they want raw and even more behind the scenes, like an overly polished Instagram image versus a real life Instagram image.
