The first thing I'll show you is how the ad structure works. At the top, you have your campaign. You can think of a campaign as the overall strategy and goal of your advertising. Then within a campaign you have ad groups which is where you can group different ads together, you can have just one ad group if you want and there are also no limits to how many ad groups you can create so If you have a larger budget you may want to create many different ad groups, the standard is usually between two and four different ad groups so you can test different things effectively.

Then within each ad group is where you can create your ads. I recommend starting with two to three ads per ad group, but you can have more or less if you prefer. 2 to three ads will generally give you a good starting balance and enough data to optimize your strategy. A pixel is a code that allows Tik Tok to track events in your store, so if someone goes to your Shopify store and adds an item to carts, the pixel is what will collect that data and send it to your account of Tik Tok, so to track these events we need to install a Tik.
Tok pixel, we will make it as easy as possible, so first open your Shopify dashboard and here we will have to install the Tik Tok app, so go to applications and here in the search bar enter Tik Tok, now select this app and click to install now we can use pixel install with one click which makes it very easy and fast so click on set up now and here you will need to connect your Tik Tok for business account so click click connect and if you are already logged into your Tik Tok account in a different tab, you will be able to connect automatically;
If not, go ahead and enter your login details and then click to connect now here, just click on Create and here we will also connect to the Tik Tok Ads Manager. When sharing data, you will get these three options, which are different levels of how much data will be collected from consumers, depending on their privacy policies. You may be able to choose the maximum if you are unsure. I recommend you just choose enhanced. You can do it too. click here for more information and here to change your privacy policies so select your option and click confirm now click finish settings and the pixel will be ready so if we go back to the campaign page here, you will see that the new pixel appears automatically now.
You also have to choose an optimization event which is basically what you are assigning to the Tik Tok algorithm to chase after. You can think of this as your pixel goal if you're looking to get sales on your Shopify store, the best option here is comprehensive. payments, this will ensure that Tik Tok's algorithm looks for users who are most likely to complete payments and essentially get their sales on Shopify. However, because we're still in the beginning steps, we'll actually choose add to carts so we can get started. feeding the algorithm once you have some events added to the cart you can then change this to complete the checkout and just so you understand this Tik Tok has a very powerful database and can very easily track which users are most likely to do something , so you can let Tik Tok's AI solve most of this, so choose add to cart and let's move on to the next settings now here about locations, you can choose between automatic or manual.
I highly recommend selecting your locations manually and only selecting Tik Tok. This will ensure that you only show your ads to very high quality traffic. Next, we'll get into the targeting here. You can select who you want to show your ads to. Now there are many different targeting strategies you can use. You could carry out demographic targeting of interest. Audience-based targeting looks like audiences and a few others, but because Tik Tok's AI is so powerful, we're going to do something completely different known as broad targeting or unrestricted targeting, this means we'll leave all of these settings as low as possible. broad and unspecified possible so that the Tik to to AI can decide on its own without limitations and believe me, Tik Tok does the job very effectively, so for this group of ads we will leave all these settings as they are, You can later create another ad group and try a different one. targeting strategy now, depending on where your Shopify store can deliver, you can still go ahead and select the countries you'd like to advertise in, you can do that here and then down here, depending on the budget and schedule, we'll go into the Budget ad group On Tik Tok, the minimum daily budget is $20, so keep this in mind if you want to create more ad groups later, if necessary, you can also start with a single ad group and then scale up later, we will talk more about that.
In a moment we'll configure when this ad group will run. You can choose to run it continuously so that ads don't stop running until we turn it off, or you can set a start and end date. It will continually continue and choose. Here you can also select specific times for your ads to run, although we'll go ahead and leave it on all day for the next parts. Just make sure you optimize for conversions. Now click on Continue and Now we are at the ad level, so this is where you will set up your ad content, which is known as your ad creative.
First we will give these ads a name and down here you can configure your identity. You can choose between single video or carousel if you already have a video ready for your ad, you can go ahead and upload it here now if you haven't discovered it yet. There are different ways to create creative ads. The first option, of course, is to create them yourself if you don't want to use your own voice. the video you can use an artificial intelligence tool to generate voices.
I'll leave my favorite tool for this. Linked in the description now, if you don't want to create these videos yourself, I recommend paying someone else to do it for you. To make it a lot easier and probably convert better to make all of this super easy, what you can do is use a tool called Billow, which is a paid platform that connects you with the video creators within Billow. You can simply submit a task and the creators will request it. directly within the platform so that you can then explore their portfolios and see which is the best option for your brand.
Once you have chosen a Creator you can send them your product and they will deliver a video which will probably be the easiest and most effective way to get ad creative so I will leave a link in the description in case you want to try it and here is a A couple of quick tips to make sure your video is headed in the right direction. The most important thing is that a cat captures your audience's attention in less than 3 seconds. You need to make sure your video has an engaging start, so make sure there is some kind of wow factor in your product or that it is filmed in an engaging way.
I also recommend that you add an interesting offer at the beginning or end of your video, as it is a very important factor when selling. I also recommend adding subtitles as most users will first watch your video without sound, once you have it go ahead and upload it. your video and here you can see the preview of your ads. Now we'll go ahead and enter the text that will appear in the ad. I recommend adding a call to action and communicating your offer. Offers are extremely important for your ads to actually convert, so make sure you have an interesting offer, it could be buy 1 get one free, buy another get 50% off, 20% off etc. ., down here you will enter the URL of the landing page, which is where users will land once they click on your ad.
I highly recommend linking directly to your product page so the consumer is seamlessly guided through the funnel. Now click submit and your first ads will be ready. Here you can see that we have the campaign level, the ad group level, and the ads now, as I mentioned earlier. I recommend adding at least two ads per ad group, the idea is to test different ad creatives, so what you can do now is create a couple more ads to test with this one and make it very easy. You can simply click copy and keep it on the same ad. group and campaign and then create one or more copies.
Now all you have to do is change the creative, add your landing page link and then publish it now as you can see we have a new ad here in the ad group and just keep in mind that Tik Tok takes a few minutes on activating your ads, so if you still see a red dot here, that's perfectly fine, they will be running very soon, so now we have a full campaign set up and running if you have a bigger budget to work with. We recommend going ahead and creating another ad group within your campaign with a different targeting strategy.
This way you can try it out with this one to see what works best. A common structure you can use for this is to set up a broad targeting ad group, which is what I just completed an interest-based targeting ad group, so let me quickly explain what interest-based targeting is instead of let Tik Tok choose its audience between an unrestricted and completely broad setting. You can enter specific demographics and interests. Let me show you how to do this, go here to the ad group level and in your existing ad group you can click copy now, enter the name of your ad group and down here you can set optionsFor more specific guidance, enter the countries you would like to sell to. to the age groups that are probably interested in your product and down here under interests you can write the topic of your products, just keep it simple and the rest of the ad group settings should be done so let's continue with the ads. here you can go ahead and repeat the same process we covered earlier, add your ad title, add the creative landing page link and follow the same steps to create two or three different ads, as you can see within this campaign, now we have two different ones. ad groups, if you need, here you can edit the individual budgets for each one and here in the ads tab you will see all the ads that we have created, so now you are ready to start running your Tik Tok ads and , yes If you have good ad creatives with a solid offer and an amazingly designed Shopify store, then you're likely to see tons of order notifications, so the next question is what do you do when the ads work, how do you scale them?
There are two different strategies. which you can use to scale your ads, one is called vertical scaling and the other horizontal scaling. Vertical scaling is a simple and straightforward strategy. Simply add more budgets to whichever ad group is performing the best. Now, another way to scale your ads is with horizontal scaling. means duplicating the best performing ad groups and then replacing the poorly performing ads within that ad group with new ones Now, before making changes to your ads or turning them off, make sure you wait a couple of days and allow them to collect enough data ; this could take some time. patience, but with enough testing and experimentation you will arrive at the right one before making any changes.
It is also important that you learn to analyze and interpret your data. One of the most important metrics you'll want to look at is also your click-through rate. Known as CTR, this refers to the number of clicks your ads actually receive to help you understand what conclusion you might draw from a CTR, let's say you have a number healthy number of clicks, so a high CTR rate could be above 1.5% now let's say. Regardless of these clicks, you still don't get many sales. If that's the case because your ad gets a lot of clicks, you might conclude that your ad is actually performing very well, but the problem could be with your online store, so I would suggest taking a second look at your image prices. products and overall web design, now let's turn that the other way around.
If you are getting a very low CTR, meaning a very small number of clicks, below 1%, then I would suggest trying a new ad creative and keep in mind that sometimes a slight change to your video can have quite a big impact. in their results.
