Tonight, the Prime Minister has finally announced the next

election

, a moment that the country needs and has been waiting for and where, by the strength of our democracy, power gives them back the opportunity to change for the better, their future, their community , your country, will now feel. It seems like a long campaign, I'm sure of that, but no matter what is said and done, what this

election

is about is opportunity for change. Over the course of the last four years, we have changed, the Labor Party once again returned to power. in the service of the workers all we now humbly ask is to do exactly the same for our country and return Britain to the service of the workers.

I am well aware of the cynicism people have towards politicians at the moment, but I came late to politics having served our country as leader of the Crown Prosecution Service and helped the Police Service of Northern Ireland gain the consent of all communities. Service to our country is the reason and the only reason I am here now asking for your vote and believe with patience, determination and commitment to service. There is so much pride and potential we can unlock across our country, so here's the country's future in your hands. On the 4th of July, you have a choice and together we can stop whatever chaos we can.

We turn the page and we can start rebuilding Britain and changing our country.
