Dotted mandala Stone

Mar 29, 2024
Hey guys, welcome back today. I'm using an art

stone

from Happy Dotting Company molds to create something similar to this beauty, only I'll try to use some Christmas colors, so I'll start by covering it. with black paint letting it dry through the magic of the internet of course I can make it look like I did it in no time. The cool thing about these molds from Happy Dotting Company on Etsy is that they have like a little center dot. that you can work with, so it's very quick and easy to find the center of your

stone

so you can use a compass like this and make two circles on your stone like I always do with my stones if you've been here for a while. and you've seen my stuff, this is something you recognize, but I hope you don't get bored because today we're going to really change it.

I have made some real

mandala

s with you. Sometimes I call them

mandala

s or mandala, you know. any kind of day you have, so today is a mandala day. Now I'm outlining my pencil lines with gold and we'll go back and clean them up and tidy them up a little bit later, now that this one could be seen. complicated by the image, so if it scares you, just take a look at it, watch it, see what you think, watch it again a week later, watch it again, see what you think, it might be something you can really achieve if you put in the time. little a little bit of confidence and a little bit of a push from me so don't give up and please try it and if you don't feel comfortable try some of my other things first and then come back to this one because it will look beautiful.

More Interesting Facts About,

dotted mandala stone...

I don't even know, I don't even know what it looks like, we'll see, so I'm just getting started. I found my center again with my gold paint. I put a big gold dot there. This is going to be a mix of dots, gold, glitter, lines and all the things I love, so there's no way to make one exactly the same as the other, so the one I showed you at the beginning will look a little different than this one. . I'm also trying to use some Christmas colors if you're having a hard time finding a color palette to use, go to Pinterest, search for Christmas color palettes or spring color palettes or just color palettes in general and create five or six colors. different ones that look good together and then you can incorporate those colors into your dot mandala or whatever you're making.
dotted mandala stone
I love looking at color palettes and being inspired by the beautiful colors that go so well together that I can't take credit for all my color combinations, but I do change them up a bit. I steal my inspiration from other places for the colors and then I do my own things with them, which is what you can do, I'm using all the colors that I chose here, there's a little bit darker like a hunter green, there's a little bit of wine berries, a little bit of white, a little bit of gold, a little bit of blue like a lighter blue and I just incorporate white and gold throughout. all the

area, but the main colors are the Christmas colors, which are green, red and gold, and you'll see, you'll see, so what I do is I just make a bigger dot and then I walk around that dot. with smaller stitches you change it up with toothpick dotting tools with knitting needles.
dotted mandala stone
I also use little sewing needles to make my stitches really tiny, so if you've ever seen any of my things with really tiny stitches, that's who I am. I use them, but chopsticks are my best friends when it comes to dotting, so I have a lot of them on my desk, so I walked around those burgundy dots with two different sizes of gold. Now I'm using like a mint green, not just that dark green. but mint green too so I'm going to walk with the dark green around the mint green and it looks very complicated but it's just a big dot with little dots around it a big dot with little dots around it changes the layer of colors on top of them when they're dry, everything it completely changes when you layer them on top of those colors too, so I'm also using a vintage tea pink and like a light, almost buttery yellow that I'm incorporating throughout.
Now I chose my color palette before I started, so I'm just trying to incorporate all of those colors that I chose in little places throughout this part. Now, this right here is the most, it looks so delicate like a fancy little doily, but I just did this, we just did this together and I knew you could do it with me, so don't lose confidence, just paint with me and I'll show you. how to do it if there is a way to slow down the video. I don't know because I need some training on YouTube. I create on my phone and then I upload it to YouTube, so I don't even know how to create on YouTube, which I need training on obviously, but yeah, if there's a way to do it.
You can slow down so you can include all those points, even if I haven't explained everything to you. I want you to be able to do this, so pause it, slow down, and start again. You can always start over, so don't be left with nothing. It bothers me if it doesn't feel like it looks the way you want, you can start over and I'm literally just walking around those bigger dots and changing the colors, and that does so many beautiful magical things for our artwork, like this. that I used, it stopped right there and I made some petals around the dots to close them up, then I made an additional set of petals that I'm putting the lines on, now just thin lines.
I'm not being too careful, it looks sloppy but I'll clean it up later, if it looks really bad you can always repaint it black and thin out the thick lines and change anything you don't like. I'm going to leave them as they are because I'm not perfect and now I'm making a thin 796 hologram line between all those gold lines, just a thin line, that's all you need and it works wonders, wait until you see this, it has this beautiful effect ranging from the dots on the lines and glitter look so beautiful and when I first chose my color palette I didn't feel like it looked Christmassy but I didn't want to just use the standard green, red and white so when I chose this color. palette with vintage pink and mint green.
I thought, "I don't know if this is going to look Christmassy, but now it's starting to look really Christmassy with these little spaces under the petals, I'm literally filling it in." a place for you to show you started with the white, the vintage pink, the berry wine, the blue, the mint green and then I go to the dark green underneath that and it doesn't look like much right now, all these tiny little dots. It looks like a mess but you'll see when they're all finished and it changes, it looks really beautiful and you'll be able to see the color changes a lot better once it's sealed too, but here we go, that's as far as we've gotten so far, if you know me , you know I like to make frames so I'm going to make the same type of frames that I use, sorry to bore you, it's going to be the berry wine color with a little bit of the lighter pink, the vintage rose and on one side of the frame and on the other side it will be that dark hunter green with mint green and also what we will do with the light vintage pink and mint green.
Lighter colors will only highlight a small area in the frame to make it appear shiny like a ribbon and you'll see I do this on a lot of my rocks if I don't show you well enough in this tutorial. don't give up, go back to one of my other tutorials where you see this type of frame and I'll probably spend more time with you. Here's a little clue. I made a pretty thick frame, so one circle was made a lot bigger than the inner circle so there's a nice thick frame there and then I can use a sponge to blend my Vintage Rose like I'm showing you here, so what what I did was a first coat in the wine with a brush and then the second coat I did with a sponge in wine and now I'm adding the vintage tea rose with a sponge and it's much easier to get this shiny ribbon look if I can use a sponge, so I'm literally mixing berry wine over the aged tea rose and then adding the aged tea rose back over the top of the berry wine until it blends into a nice transition and then looks shiny, you can see it now , it looks like a shiny tape oh the illusions that I like to show you yes that is my English accent and I can do it because I actually have dual citizenship my family is from England my mother is from England she was born there so I have dual citizenship between Canada and England and I feel very lucky not to have been there, although unfortunately one day I would love to go and I have some followers, some painters who paint with me who are from the UK.
Hey guys, I'm sorry if I offended you. with my somewhat english accent that i brought out, but i promise you, but both of my kids randomly speak with an english accent and it's probably my fault because i do it all the time and anyone who's known me for a while knows that. I bring out the accent from time to time, so I did the same with the green and mint side to make it look bright, making the small white area lighter. I'm mixing green and wine to make that transition. a little prettier and then it will be how I want it to be, if you have problems with that you don't have to, you can make any color frame you want, but I like mine to have this effect.
To add a lot of different details to my artwork, if you can hear my oven is on again, guys, it's cold here, there's quite a few feet of snow outside, so my oven might be running during these tutorials I'm doing. I'm recording today, so this won't be the only tutorial I upload, there will be three, so that's my way of saying Merry Christmas, I love you, I'm sorry I'm so busy with moving, but here you go, here's a little gift. Oh, that'll keep them happy for a while, so I do the same with most of my framing work.
I'm adding little lines, little indentations on my dial around the artwork, so I'm just going in the middle, in the middle, in the middle. between between between just like that no drinking games with the word between guys please no alcohol poisoning while painting rocks that's not a good combination so I continue between each line to be happy with the spaces I have between them I continued for a while but now everything looks uniform and beautiful and Christmassy. I love it. Now you can see the tips of all those striped petals. I'm putting a big green dot where the tip is.
Those petals, just below the frame, now we're going to do a little bit of stippling to bring this Mandela all the way into the background, so that it draws your eyes in completely and changes a lot as you go. People, this could be too much, this could be overwhelming with the amount of dots and stripes and colors and gold, and all of that could be too much. I understand that everyone has different things that attract their eyes so if this is not for you I completely understand if this is too hard but you love it keep trying promise me you'll keep trying because this is how I ended up here showing you how to do it.
I kept trying, so please do it for me. It will be something you will be very proud of. I promise. Now I'm just trying to incorporate all the colors I used again. It doesn't really matter what order you use them in. I'm wearing green, then mint green, then blue and me. I'm literally a big green dot and then the rest of it is traced with a smaller dot tool. Now I'm using red wine or berry wine, and even if you don't think these colors don't look good or good together, in the end they just all Wow, it all works.
I promise, I'll add the vintage tea rose now. I didn't want to forget my vintage tea rose in these areas here, so I'm going to add the vintage tea rose to my green and of course some gold in between. to carry it all in all the colors, even your gold and glitter accents, you can add glitter to the green first before putting the pink in there or I didn't actually add any hologram to that part, I just kept the hologram on the stripes of the petals, so what do you think guys wait until you see this rezoned?
I'm going to show you the other one also rezoned, this is what they look like, they ended up being very different from each other. I have a hard time making mandalas look like mandalas. exactly the same as the other one, but here is your gift, here is my resin copy. Now I know it's awesome. I just love it and it will go in my store with a ton of other things so if you really love this you might want to head over to my store quick because they go really fast this one will also be in my store purples, teals and blues and, OMG I am absolutely in love with these they are gorgeous they are beautiful works of art for you to display anywhere you want I hope you were able to make one with me let me know what you think of them let me know if they are too complicated I love them all I stop all the time so I'll say it now I love them, think
