I think that's what the Bucks need to understand, that's what they're dealing with right now and so are the Lakers. team they lost played the Golden State Warriors and uh the Warriors look pretty good yeah and I think most people are worried about Steph throwing the ball. What interests me most is his leadership in getting the young people and all the new people to understand how the Warriors play and little by little they are starting to figure it out game by game and look at this last quarter on Monday, you can see what happened, the Lakers They didn't play well, only eight points in the paint, it's so important, Dennis, yeah. because you would think anthony davis would find a way to get more involved in the paint, obviously draymond green is a great defender, we meet a wise young man who is still trying to figure out how to play defense consistently here in the NBA and, Of course, at the end of the day, Lebron Lebron always finds a way to attack the paint, whether it's through drill or post penetration or pick and roll, so it was a little strange for those numbers, like e.g.

How did Lebron lead the team at this point in his career or this one? Early in the season, to realize that this is a one-game situation, you would most likely expect to bounce back, but it's a statistic that you now find out that other defenses use this as a sample size on the defensive end and We see his record. Home versus away, we know it's early, it's a small sample size, but when you're on the road and you haven't lost seven that's a pretty good number of games, what does that say about this Lakers team? Well, they're still trying to figure it out.

Find out what's going on with some of the new guys and I think Lebron talked about it from the beginning. I just used, you know, Dennis Schruter, for example, they call Dennis the threat, but guys like that that have been bouncing around a little bit, he got decent contracts, but now he's learning to be a champion. He doesn't learn to be a champion overnight, otherwise everyone will do it. If you've been around a long time, you understand this game too, so I think kids like that one. I came into a situation saying this is how we prepare every day this is how I need to prepare because this is an important piece to trying to win a championship now this matchup tonight between the Lakers and the Bucks a lot of people thought that was going to be the final showdown of the previous season, so what do we expect from this matchup tonight?
Well, I'm glad I showed Dennis, you know, shoot because I like to call him little Goldie too, he's very important with Rondo coming out and coming down the right, Avery Bradley. He didn't really play in the bubble, but he was part of the team early in the season to help build that record, so I think a lot of things fall on him and if he can really find his groove and figure it out, he'll be you, but not too much. of you that interrupts the team to understand Lebron's team and the future team announcements that you know as you grow, but now they are very important to giannis, how do they mix?
I'm going to shoot my occasional three, but I still have to attack, but Guess what, let Jewel Holiday be a Jewish holiday, Chris Milton, we need you to step up a little more because you've shown us in the regular season that you guys can be the best in the regular season, but when those lights get a little brighter, ah. Now we don't see the best, how do you get those two guys to the same level as the MVP? It's a great question. I mean, you take a look at Anthony Davis and what he's been able to do at last season's highs.
Him, 17 rebounds and seven assists, will that kind of performance be necessary for Anthony Davis to make the Lakers successful? Yeah, most people thought the other day that Steph was crazy for saying it was time for A.D to make it clear that it's his team, we know Lebron. he's great and right now he's

lebron

he's still proven that he's still lebron's team and in some ways I'm going back to when d wade and lebron got together in miami and got off to a slow start in d.w.a said: you know how lebron looks, man, I know it's my team miami and all that man go to you and we know lebron from lebron go to you brother you're unstoppable on both ends of the court he's that guy again uh we know it's only been 70 or 61 days, whatever whatever that number is It's since the bubble won the championship, so we understand that it takes a toll on his body, but hey buddy, you're so good, you're so good, so for the money we're talking about Middleton, you think maybe could do a little more, what is the impact of Drew's vacation?
I think Drew can take some pressure off of Chris and Giannis from a late-game standpoint. We know Drew can get there, he can get there on the court, and most importantly, it's Steph. Attacking the defense now the pressure on the defense makes you focus and we know he can distribute the ball with the best of them and also in Bug Ball you can shoot the three and that's one of the things Draw Holiday can do so we. I've seen in the season the fact that he shares the ball more, that's part of the buzz ball and it becomes contagious, so when you make 19 triples in a game, 15 or 17 triples consistently now here at the beginning of the season, everything is because the ball is jumping. and Drew Holiday is part of that, so when you talk about the Lakers, obviously you know it's Lebron James, Anthony Davis, they have to perform every night, but what does that performance look like?
Will it be points? Will it be a cis?, when? you talk about lebron james, remember last season what he did in that assists column, the numbers aren't there this year, that matters, but hey, people are looking at this system, that's not lebron's fault, lebron keeps passing away, There are many things missing right now. So it's very similar with Denver with the Joker, when you put in the effort every night, you're going to get the right rebounds, you're going to get some points, but you can't force your teammates to take open shots that you created for them.
So that's the struggle at the beginning of the season for LeBron's assists, last year the guys were making shots at a high level, that's why he led the league and assisted almost the entire season, I think he ended up winning the whole season. tank, yeah, so same thing happening now, guys. They're not making those same shots at the beginning of the season, I think Laker Nation isn't panicking because they know the pieces are there, it's just taking a little longer than they wanted for that chemistry to set now. problem is 72 games and some hits. Well guys, how do you fix that in the shortened season?
And let me be clear, seven and a half assists isn't that bad, but he spoiled us less, he did, he really did well, I mean, I think we're all guilty of that for his entire career exactly exactly what can we do ladies and gentlemen, since I mentioned three games in the NBA to talk about tonight, especially this guy, Kyrie Irving, back in action for the Nets, the big three, will it work, shined against Brooklyn next. career high 42 points 22 points in both overtimes combined message to all young players, men and women, when someone tells you that you can't do something, the way to shut you up is to go to the gym when no one is watching , that's what Colin has been doing sex since his year at Alabama since she left high school here in Atlanta, everyone said this young man can't shoot well if that's what he can't shoot is in the fourth quarter on time extra going against a star going against an Olympian going against a champion then guess what people that's hard work that's what work is that's what they say the young people say today I'm in the gym doing that work you don't want this smoke well guess what it's colin sexton He took that smoke, he took Kyrie Irving the other night to the Brooklyn Nets, so toughness got that nickname like the young bull on his back, you know, it was fun to watch, you know what we know, Cleveland It doesn't have a big talented team.
We don't have some good pieces, we know they're a lower totem pole, but one thing Coach Bickerstaff has done is make sure these guys compete every night and they've done that as a big win for him, a big win, I mean, and we can. We say all we want about the Brooklyn Nets' lack of defense. We just showed you that whole graph in

full

screen. It's not where Coach Nash wants him to be, that's for sure, but you still have to show up and I think JB Bickersaf has done a great job. I don't work with his team, but let's talk about Brooklyn's defense.
How important is this Dennis? He is very significant. He maybe he saw a possession here and there early in the game. I think they started the game by making the first 10 shots, but that's easy. We all know when. you're making shots, I want to rebound, play defense, communicate that everything's going well, but when they hit that law and couldn't make some shots and Cleveland went on a run, no one looked at the next guy and said, come on, man, come on. a stop right now during the 12-0 run, I think with a 14-2 run let's make a stop, you know, Steve Nash had to yell to slow things down and regroup, then they went back to the ball game and then you go into In overtime no, it was Olay, the young bull was able to get to where everyone was on the court and shoot, so we know offensively to see these highlights, that's not the problem, people know that those three guys can score at will.
We saw the beginning of the ball game. It's going to be a late game situation before overtime. The game was tight. I think they were on top and had a chance to go ahead and put things away. You had to stop. The young bull falls and knocks down three huge ones. Let's go to extra time. Those are. The situations that we're going to look at until they resolve it and uh, Kyrie Irving is going to have to play a huge role in resolving it. This was our first chance to see the big three together in Brooklyn.
We know James Harden and Kevin. durant can play together, we've seen it before, how can Kyrie fit in with those two mvps and make this work? Kyrie check your ego, remember how you deal with kevin love and lebron and that good team you had in cleveland and why are you a champion if you can find Kyrie and connect with that guy and say "hey man", let's check our e a little and Let's find out who we are, what we're trying to do. If you do, you won't have any problems, as we saw. Kyrie dunked on the floor last night we watched Kyrie go for an offensive rebound in traffic, the effort is there, just do it on the other end, everything you're going through personally, that's your business and your family's business, that's what we want you to get better, but once you step on the court do whatever steve nash kevin durant james harden the rest of that team needs to do to try to win a championship james harden I'm glad I raised him um what can do?
Technically, he's the new kid on the block. true, technically correct, correct, but what can he do? I don't want to say appease others, but fit perfectly so far, he's done a great job, I mean, now he has the record, the first guy to change teams to get a three-pointer. double with 30 points that's amazing uh getting to the free throw line uh steve nash has made the game really simple for him with a lot of pick-and-roll action it all comes back to the other end there was one play that we showed to the other the night he hit it, Kyrie hit it, you know, and the Cleveland Cavaliers got an easy layup once they figured out that effort on the defensive end consistently, we won't talk about that anymore, we'll talk about if they can win one .
Can two win? They can win? Can they go to the Eastern Conference championship two years in a row? All of that will change so quickly. Remember how it changed with Milwaukee. Yes, we are now talking about the same thing with Philadelphia. We are not saying the same withBoston we did two years ago because they figured out the offensive side because they knew they could play defense now it's the opposite with them with Brooklyn we know you can play offense you have to figure out how to play defense and that's where all the narratives they'll change, we've been around and seen it too much, those two guys right there, anywhere in the world, you'll never question their offensive talent, right, you'll never question their offensive creativity, never ever, but we.
I've never talked about his defensive creativity, his defensive prowess, that's the narrative that has to change before saying Brooklyn can be a serious championship contender. It's interesting that you mention that because they both have stellar reputations for decades in Italy and even here. So another piece of the puzzle if you want to be a championship team is that your bench has to be deep enough, especially in the current climate with covid and the protocols are sufficient. uh cabernet perry brown, everyone needs to go to the gym, get in the gym and play defense joe harris, we know who we are.
I am scared of you. You're not just a three-point shooter in the regular season game. You're a three-point shooter on an all-star championship weekend. For that they need him on the court to keep things stretched. offensive end now one thing about Joe he comes from the University of Virginia so he knows how to play because he has a coach Bennett defensive mindset so that fifth guy is going to be Deandre can Deandre have a flashback in the En corral on clipper days, can you find someone else on the free agenda? A lot of people are talking about Alex Lynn being released recently, another seven footer that you can probably bring in and plug in, but they're going to need Uncle Jeffy to hit some big threes yesterday, it'll be helpful, but.
You're going to need bigger bodies as you progress. You know you bring up a good point about the bench and defense. Everyone always talks about the bench scoring 10 points off the bench. That's not enough with a team that struggles defensively. Maybe the role of the bank. It's turning on some defensive prowess, yeah, every night is a little bit different, depending on who you're playing though, because certain nights you start off fast and you might need a defensive juggernaut to come in and slow things down, but the other night, Kyrie. come back joe harris come back to the bench that answers your question now they have some offensive firepower but you still need another bigger body to rebound on defense so you can give Durant a little more rest.
Those guys played 50 and 46, I think 48 minutes. the other night and after the injuries and the trade and Kyrie had a break so now you have to recover and play again against those cavaliers you have to have a game on Saturday so the season is starting to pick up now you have to figure out how to do it I give these guys enough rest knowing there's not a lot of practice time, so it's very interesting. I love all the stories and how these teams are developing. We will continue to watch and talk about it for you, as I mentioned. three games in the nba tonight first game on tnt lakers bucks chris middleton is averaging 22 points six rebounds five assists give me a little more chris give me a little more than that let's start with the lakers bucks game an easy one for you tim who wins the Yes, maybe not so well the last time the Lakers went to Milwaukee, they got beat up and I told my wife it was a work trip, but actually Danny Green, who was on the Lakers last year, He left me the tickets and Milwaukee was the best matchup.
I think this is a revenge game for LeBron and not just against Giannis. Also on Monday, what happened to the Lakers when they fell apart against the Warriors? They played seven road games this year, they're 7-0 and I don't think they can top it. There's some additional motivation, but I still think he's out there trying to prove that he's the best player in the league. I think he is the best player in the league. So him against Giannis. I'm going to go with the Lakers in this spot. It's okay, Tim. The team will make more threes, this one is easy, okay, the game maybe not so much, but Milwaukee shoots eight more threes per game than the Lakers, so this is just a pure numbers game and we give credit to the franchise because The Bucks built the team with shooters around Giannis and the way Giannis is so dynamic in terms of creating shots and now it's easy to start making those shots.
This is easy, obviously the game has changed and everyone shoots threes, but Milwaukee is making five and a half more threes per game than the Lakers, like I said. They're filming more threesomes so this is easy, go grab the box right now. I am so curious. We'll talk about this more off camera because I don't know how you're going to decide this, but which one. Which team will score first in the second half, you know, I just see pregnant women in the supermarket and I'm like boy, girl, boy, that's actually not true at all, but who's going to score first in the second half?
I'm going to make money here, huh. I think Giannis maybe gets his money back and that's how they score, but yeah, this is a tough question because it's almost possible to handicap this just like it's impossible to handicap, you're going to have a boy or a girl, but I'm going to make money. here, I'm glad you backed off a little bit, okay, let's move on to the second game, okay, pelicans and jazz, who will shoot a better field goal percentage. I mean, Jazz is red hot right now, they've won six in a row. games and during that winning streak they are shooting almost 50 percent, I think they are playing with great continuity, you know what they are playing with style and now that they are healthy, I think everyone really understood their role, they have been dominant. lately by the way these teams just played and the jazz meets the pelicans so i think they're going to win again so this is easy as to who shoots a better percentage i gotta go to utah it's well, well, speaking of easy.
I think this one is probably going to be easy for Zion Williamson right now, averaging 23 points, so he'll score 19 points if anything, if loving Zion Williamson is wrong, I don't want to be right, okay, I stole him when he came to the States. United right that's something else but yeah of course he's going to surpass this number think about this just in January he's averaging 26 points per game wait all I need to do is get over 19 that means 20 and I'm a winner. You know, every game this month tops that. The number and minutes are up, we all expected him to play about five more minutes per game, but the production also increased, he seems to be getting better every night, it doesn't matter if the jazz is playing great basketball, they can't stop big. z I'm going to go here Zion Williams hits 20 or more Yeah, I don't normally play these games, but I'm with you right now, I mean, he has back-to-back 30-point games, so I think. 19 is in the bag, okay, last one for you, Timmy, which team will win the game.
I'm going to do jazz here, okay, and I'm actually disappointed that you don't sit down because listen closely, the Utah jazz is going to win the NBA. championship this year, you got hurt the first one, maybe you'll inherit it here at the end, it's okay, I believe in the team and I love the fact that Spider Mitchell said, forget about trying to win a playoff series, we're trying to win it all and now Stephanie. everything is starting to fall into place for them rudy gobert is in the prime of his career mike conley and donovan mitchell this is the second year of those guys playing together no one in the nba scores more points off the bench than jordan clarkson so i think The key to his team is two guys, I think they are Bob Donovich and Ingles, when those guys can make shots on the perimeter now that lanes open up for Donovan Mitchell, it opens up for Rudy Gobert from below, but this year I am disappointed that they don't Are you sitting?
Are you sitting right now? Jazz is going to win the title. I'm going to sit down shortly, though that's fine, but I appreciate the prediction. Thanks for your time. I hope everyone at home had their devices locked and charged. Thanks Stephanie. Alright, see you again and if you're home don't forget to save your picks to nba.com primetime picks for a chance to win. We're not done here, we still have a lot more to talk about. A look inside the Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of Utah Jazz, they will host the Pelicans at 10 p.m. start time again with Toyota ticket, you can see Steph Curry on this list, he only needs nine triples to pass well to reggie miller in the The first 20-21 edition of Shooter's Paradise R3D goes all the way with Steph Curry's high school coach, Charlotte Christian's Sean Brown.
The two discuss her first impression of Steph the moment he handed her the keys to his program and the evolution of his game. Check it out. welcome to another edition of shooter's paradise i am very excited to talk to coach sean brown from christian school in charlotte and yes we are talking about the great steph

take us back to the first time you saw him shoot the basketball and what crossed your mind probably just watching Stefan in high school and how he would go up and down the floor and just let it fly at will, you'd just say, man, does this guy ever miss him, well, it's surprising because when Go back and look at those old videos and images.
He's skinny as a noodle, like what goes through your mind. This skinny kid is taking shots playing free spirit. game and I'll give a quick example of that so at the end of his freshman year we bred him for our state tournament and I always knew all year long that we were going to breed him towards the end so we put him in breed. towards the end of the game uh he dribbles down I think I think he passed it he caught it back he lets it rip uh it's nothing but net and I looked right at it uh coach houston was the name of coach david house and one of my assistants at the time I looked and said coach, we're going to give this kid the keys to our program, you know, the next three years, wow, and we had a pretty special three-year run, I mean, now we're talking about Stefan, but he also had a lot of good ones. players around us, when you look back, did they ever tell you why big name coaches didn't come to the gym?
Well, my take on that would be, first of all, you know, being a follower of Christ that god had under control the whole time, but to answer your question, I just think he just didn't pass the vision test, he has some abilities that you can't give him, he already has them, you already know them. gaining weight helped him get a little faster and all those things that they could teach him, so he had a great person and his father continually guided him through the stages of that, maybe at night maybe he wasn't as consistent at score shots. good shooters, now excellent shooters, you continue to shoot, is there anything that marvels you more? the father, the husband, the philanthropist, how hard he works, what you marvel at most about that, I would say, in all his success, uh, again, going back to him being a product of a Christian family Christian school, he remains solid in his faith keeping his family first and then this game of basketball, he's really been able to use that, I think, to reach out to others in a positive way with all the accolades, he continues to stay humble, but for him in particular to stay true to his faith it has been truly incredible to see him grow in that man did you see this greatness then or where did you say no?
He was really good. I didn't think he would be that good. I firmly believe that if he was ever given a chance because of his work ethic, uh, and partly also because of the tremendous job that Bell and Sun did raising their children, that if you opened the door of opportunity, he would discover a way to take advantage of it. that and that work ethic would take him very far, very proud of what he is currently doing and even if I were the observer, I would like to tell you, stefan, right now again, charlotte christian as a whole cannot be proud of you as as well as all the other kids who have gone through this program, but we continue to pray for you and want you to continue to do well and keep the name of Jesus at the forefront of what you are doing.
Well done Dennis, excellent work, very interesting. What did you learn from that when we were talking to all the great minds around here? We're trying to figure out how we can go a little deeper and a little different with Shooters Paradise because we obviously know what we're talking about. about the three-point shot and then we started talking about where it all started and why a guy like Stephen Curry, who all our kids love, all of basketball has now coined and crowned as the greatest shooter of all time, justly. but where did he start? Do you know how his high school coach saw it?
Why wasn't he a five-star recruit? Why are parents today stuck on my son has to go to a private school he has to go to a prep school? he has to play well in this part of the country. What school did young Tentacle go to? Did he go to a private school here? Did he go to a prep school here? What school did Luca Doncic go to? So,What am I trying to tell these parents? Reclassify If you reclassify your child, you are basically telling her that she can't play well. I'm just being very honest with you.
Put your child in the right training. tell him to work hard and everything else will fall into place. steph

I just showed you that, so I think this you know, we say a new realm of shooter heaven. We're filming a little more directly to people at home about why and how we become great shooters. We didn't wake up overnight. You have to put it. At work you have to believe in what you're doing and I think now is the time to turn to the high school coaches because those are the first ones that see us, those are the first ones that really instill hard work, the work ethic. work playing together. playing the right way you heard the coach say at the end of his first year he comes into the game and makes a deep shot, most people don't do that, there is confidence in what you do and then you have a father who actually plays. the NBA, so you're in the culture, you understand hard work, so it was fun, so we have more to come.
I'm very excited, I'm happy for the bosses above and you know during this whole pandemic you had to do it. Be more creative, this was the one we came up with to take us to another level. I love it, I love it, I love the message it sends to the fans at home, especially the younger ones. work, always talking to you, okay, thanks Dennis, appreciate you as always, great job with Shooter's Paradise. We hope to see a lot more, so good, oh, deep, so good, so many things you can learn from that Dennis, but. You and I are parents and so you talk about the impact that things that happen in society have on your children and how you handle that.
How do you handle it? I'm still trying to figure it out to be honest with you because it's probably the hardest time to be a young parent trying to explain what's going on in the world because we were just talking about it, where our kids today can pick up their phone and search on Google. what is happening and you say to yourself: are you going to let yourself? I know kids will be educated over the phone or you'll sit down and have these difficult conversations and that was the difficult part of having that conversation and sharing some of the stories that our uncles and aunts told, my great-grandmother, so I had the opportunity. meeting my great-grandmother, my great-great-grandmother and my grandmother, so it's like all of those, so I was lucky enough to meet someone at 99 years old and explain to them what you went through and not say, you know, honey, you need that phone, I No.
You know how that is, now we have fun laughing about it, but then they tell you some deeper stories or they have to walk to work on one side of the floor or walk to school or go to the bathroom on one side of the school, so everyone those deep stories and deep pains that they share you have to share with these kids because now they can look at their phone and look at their ipad and say well, they just told me this, the news told me this, no, let me tell you what grandma said. I'm right and this is what she went through and that's when things calmed down a little bit and I said well it's a little hard to have this conversation but if you don't educate your kids someone else will, that's a very good point. and and often, if you're asked questions that you don't know the answer to, it's a difficult conversation and you're struggling with why someone would do that and how you respond, it's hard to answer, but I think that's what our world has. what he showed us last year is that now is the time to sit down and have these elephant in the room conversations stop running from it mental health no, your friend is not taken advantage of oh, he's not a little special no, he's sick , he or she is sick, so it's time to have these conversations and maybe the year 2020 was about us having a deeper insight and a deeper conversation within our families within our homes.
Harry Edwards made a great point about the platforms that athletes have, the biggest platform they've ever had because off these phones they can talk directly to people and I like watching them use their powers and I'm glad our guys did that in the bubble to educate yourself and use their platform. It was excellent. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, we're not done yet. here we still have a nice little picture to make you feel good look at this oh brothers are brothers are brothers one is a champion laughing at each other hey there are a couple of mvps in there too oh yeah another one said I got someone, we'll be back though guys, Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers, visiting to face the Bucks that ran out at TNT's 7:30 playtime, East, are 7-0 on the road hoping to continue that streak.
Head coach Frank Vogel. of the los angeles lakers had a pregame press conference remember this is all virtual so get ready let's listen wondering what's at the top of the scouting report on this case if there's an area that you think is most important against milwaukee, well, it's probably the number one thing. it's getting back into transition, they're a great counter-attacking team and you know that, that's where they are for me, they're harder to defend, trying to contain Giannis by putting three and four people up front. of him without giving up on the three because they're shooting the lights from the perimeter, so, you know, that's the top of the scouting report for me, the road's been kind to you so far, Frank, is there anything you've drawn ?
From that, in this particular season and all the unique circumstances, it's something that points out, you know, I think there are different reasons, you know why we've lost some games at home, but we were so successful on the road, I think that's the opponent. based on where we are, you know, on this on the schedule, you know a lot of the home losses came after winning streaks where you know maybe we got a little complacent and then you go on the road after a tough loss and you're more motivated to get that, so, you know, one of those things that evens out across the field, or is it blunt, the numbers in the starting lineup have been really good, uh, exceptional on both ends of the court, I just wonder what was left.
I'll tell you more about Mark and Dennis joining the three hangovers, uh, hangovers from last year, well, you know, we played with a big space, you know, Mark in the space of five positions on the court, uh, but also giving us, ya you know, a uh, you know. a seven foot center, behind our defense, you know there is a lot of value in both elements that he brings to the table, kcp and

dennis

bring great speed, defensively in particular, but they both have the ability to get us on the field. painting and you know, punishing defense opponents when you bring in double teams ada and lebron, so, you know, and obviously any lineup with ron and ada at the same time has been good for us, that sounds pretty smart, Yes, I would. okay, don't miss it on saturday on nba tv at 7:30 p.m.
