and you play at 30 fps and because there are some things that are going to be a little easier to do or possible, unfortunately there is no music and other than that I think the most interesting thing I can say about this before To start is that this race is totally different, well, there are around 60 different ones, the first 20 minutes are much more. or less the same, the back will be totally different from what you expected.

I know that if I keep talking trash, I'm sure I'll be completely butchered, but here we are at the colonel's ship party, where many of Vice City's major criminal players are. We skip the party because You're too cool to talk to be seen there for long and we'll just take the daughter to the nightclub. She also wants to escape. You know she's too cool to be seen there. I've seen some of the og uh gdq runs I've been lucky enough to do over my years here is that one of the key features is the replay system where you can basically take a game snapshot of Tommy standing somewhere , maybe for example. on a rampage like that's my og, that's my og muscle memory on og, you would have fallen six times, so I said, let me jump to avoid that, but I probably could have stayed on um, but back to what I was saying that We can't access the replay system in this version, so we can't travel in time, we can't jump across the map, we can't interact with things that don't actually exist because we can't interrupt the game.

By going on rampage while doing missions or starting vehicle side missions, we can't do any of that and it's a bit unfortunate because it adds a lot of utility to the race, but we still find ways to break the game anyway. Don't worry, don't worry, this is our first friend we'll make. Unfortunately, unfortunately keep your friends close but your enemies closer. You know what I'm saying anyway, here's the chef gang. Just a little bit of, you know, jury intimidation here and a little bit of stunts, man, yeah, we'll never fall off the bike. It would take Tommy 19 years to finally acclimate to riding a bike, I guess, and learn to do it well. things without falling over, but here we are, you think you've got to get better at some point, right, I know, you know, there's so many times where I just went through a little bump and Tommy flies up and I'm like, buddy, come on.

ly in 2022. I'm Keyron and I'm joined by two lovely people. We have shark hat 87 and an eternal enigma. I'll just call you shark and I'll just call you jacket. That will be, I mean, totally fine with me, fantastic, so I talked to you two before. I don't need to go into its origins, but what I do want to address is why horror games just get started and work well for me. with horror games I usually go back to my 20s I'm 37 now I'm 20 uh, we used to go out with me and my friends would just sit on the couch at my house and we would play games like Silent Hill and Resident. evil and there would be some people who just wouldn't want to play them but would enjoy watching people play them, it was like Twitch in real life and it set me up and once I started streaming on justin tv in 2000 back in 2011 which became Twitch , it became something where I thought I could translate it to something digital where instead of people on a couch with me, they would be in a chat room and that's what really got me into it, it's just the horror, the games horror games just appealed to me, it was just that, yeah, for me, horror games have always been some of my favorite games to play in general casually and I think that also translates into speedruns because a lot of times you just want to choose games you already like to play anyway, so part of this is just a coincidence, honestly, it's oh I want to pick a new game, well what's the game I like?

Oh well, I already did it, Dead Space, will it survive or you know. anything else from Resident Evil, you know and this is how it happened to me now, not to detract because everyone at home should watch these two races, but I have 30 minutes, which one should I watch and why give me your best selling point , let's start with Well, the good thing about the last race is that this category gives you the option to see a lot more of the game than other races because you can jump to the end of the game in 13 seconds normally, but here you can see a wide variety of technology , a bunch of cool glitches on out of bounds doors, reducing your hitbox, all this crazy stuff and going to the level backwards and, uh, it's a good time, okay, you got my pallet wet, you got my pallet wet, you got something , you have some competition here, so silent hill four tends to be two games in one, it lasts an hour and at first you're alone, but halfway through you pick up an escort, eileen, and it becomes an escort search, so it becomes a game to make sure she goes fast and not necessarily you, so it's two games in one and it's a game full of complete randomness, you don't really know what's going to happen and I tend to be kind. the animator type too, so I think it's good for the audience because it's not really the same thing that happens every run, but there's a chance for total chaos to happen every run, so it's like two games in one and there is a lot. randomness that can occur is just that it's different every time okay, that didn't help me make a decision at all, they're both terrible anyway, so there are a lot of communities intertwined between the corridors of the horror game like it doesn't feel like it. like it's a separate game, you know, you'll have team spyro or team mario, but it seems like a lot of the horror game racers are like this tight knit community and like the two of you.

They're already friends, so absolutely yes, what do you think contributes to that? What makes the horror gaming community so tight-knit? We'll start with the jacket. It's interesting to say it and I'm not. I know if there's a clear answer, it's that we've all come together as people who play scary games, but one of the most common refrains we hear from people who watch our streams is that horror games are, ironically, the most comfortable and cozy. games to see because they don't have to play them and we can guide them through them and we all tend to be cut from the same cloth, so to speak, so I think if you watch one of us you'll get a good idea. of what we are and everyone you meet tends to be the same type and I think it's a kind of comfort with familiarity, so to speak, yeah, I think one thing for sure too is that with uh it's so opposite to the way that you would normally play horror games, unlike many other games, you also go very fast, you know, a lot of these games like where you are supposed to hide from enemies. and go really slow and be scared, so it's always interesting to see, well, what the game would look like if you ran it as fast as possible and it almost didn't eliminate the horror, but it somehow reveals more things about the game that you wouldn't have seen before and I think a lot of people who play or watch drag racing enjoy that part too.

Now I'm going to answer a social media question that we received at pagan0 and This is directed at both of you, so there you have the same question for both runners. I can read any parts of the race that could be problematic and whether there are any preparations that can be made to minimize any risk from those parts. I really like this question because it just talks about the preparations for the marathon so we'll start with the shark for sure so it's funny that we have this drawing of tumbar here from outlast so in his area there is an out of bounds that makes that, we can do it and if you don't do it fast enough it's no big deal, you just can't do it because it's a bit on a timer, the thing is if you get the first part and screw up the second part, you can actually block softly and get stuck and then you have to reload and do a long trick to get back there.

It takes a minute or two to get back, so it's one of those things I'll probably go to. try it once, if I block softly, I probably won't try again, but I just have to be a little careful and you know, we'll see what happens, but I think it'll be fine, it's great that Shark referenced this. wonderful drawing here because next to the doctor there is a twin victim and there is a room in Silent Hill four where there are six of those things and they start running towards you once the time comes and you get close.

I was once in a gdq review. speed runs from the crypt hosted by ecdysis, it was the first time it happened in a marathon environment and it kind of put the fear of god in me so to speak, so that's the room where in the last week or so both in my stream Practice and practice outside the stream, I've really been focusing because that's the room that could possibly create the most problems and to mitigate I would have to have an extra melee weapon to take out Eileen's enemies , which is the woman that We're walking through the game and what we call the hallway of the twin victims where six of those things are waiting is definitely that space for me now, like I get out of that question a little bit but change the direction a little bit.

Just a little bit, is there a favorite trick or favorite segment of the race that you like? I don't know, you'll be more excited on stage. Let's start with the riddle. Well, it may not be a trick, but it is. just a special part of the race and I have one of my twitch emotes dedicated to it. There is a room in the hospital that is the middle part of the game. There are 22 rooms in this hallway. They are random every time. There is no manipulation. there is no pattern there is nothing to discoverwhat you will get here the video game version of a box of chocolates we have to find the room that eileen is locked in we have to find a key and in my opinion Although that room can drive you crazy sometimes when you run at full speed to achieve the best times, which I do in Silent Hill Four, it's still pretty entertaining for everyone and I love getting everyone excited because in some alternate universe my mom always told people.

That when I was a kid I told people I wanted to be a game show host so I could come in and say if it's an L1, it's an R1 and really get people involved in that and it's a lot of fun. Even when it doesn't go well, it's a lot of fun for everyone, so I'm looking forward to it, yeah, I think one of the things I'm most looking forward to again related to this character here is everything. The mail room level is one of the craziest levels in the entire walkthrough, it's full of collectibles and really difficult tricks, so before the trick I was talking about, we actually do a very long extended jump that skip four integers.

A few minutes cutscene with him normally, but it's really crazy because we'll talk more about it as we go along, but there's a lot of glitches in shrinking your hitbox and making it so small that you fit through this like it's absolutely tiny. gap, but you have to get the hitbox much earlier, so you have to go up all these stairs, dodge a bunch of obstacles without losing it and it's kind of crazy, if you screw it up, you have to do everything. thing once again, um, so it's a pretty exciting part of the race. I have one last question for you two and I have to go back to a fierce question here because you're both good friends, but I have to ask it if both games traded off if you're doing Outlast and you're doing Silent Hill, who's going to do it better and why does it have to? be for a shark by default?
