DIY FARMHOUSE | Kitchen Signs | Dollar Tree Wood Sign Makeover!

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by my channel today. I'm going to show you what I'm going to do with these Dollar Tree

sign

s and a couple other things from Dollar Tree so stick around these are the

s I got from Dollar Tree and I really liked the

wood

block part but no both the tops and I thought I could reuse them a little so I'm going to take the tops off and remove the

wood

en peg that's underneath and then I'm going to paint these now, the wooden peg on this one didn't come off as easily on the second one, so I had to grab my pliers and pull that thing out and it ended up breaking a little bit, but it's okay, I ended up standing up. now I'm going to take this light putty that I got from the Dollar Tree as well and I'm just going to fill in the hole at the top where I tried to remove the pin and I'm just going to even things out a little bit and this stuff.

It works very well and dries very quickly. I let the putty dry for about 30 minutes and then sanded it to smooth the top. I'm going to use my Waverly and white chalk paint and then the colored ink and paint around the sides. the sign and also the entire back of the sign, then I decided to paint the back with a different phrase so I could make these multipurpose, so they came to eat and this

kitchen

is for dancing. I used my Waverly chalk paint. in hazelnut for white and then white for black. I found this stencil brush at Dollar Tree and thought I would give it a try.

I've never used a stencil before but I have used a brush, but I'll be honest, that's how it was. Not my favorite in the end, it turned out okay, but I really like my foam brushes better. I used my cricket and just clear contact paper to cut out the templates for these signs and this always works great for me if you do this method. Be careful when you are painting not to lift the stencil and get under where the letters are. Once the paint has dried you can remove the stencil, just be very careful when doing so and make sure you remove all the little bits.
