Mar 09, 2024
Hey guys Minnie G, welcome back to my channel. I wanted to take a quick look at

everything

I

made

in the month of December, and in fact, I think

everything

I'm showing you I sewed in a matter of five days. um and that's because I had a lot of limited time and I was traveling and I wanted new clothes for my trip so I decided I was going to sew everything I could for five days and this is everything that came out of those days so I

made

this shirt really adorable and I made matching pants.

I like super, super, monochromatic looks or all the same prints, like that's my problem right now, that's what I feel like, so I've been doing a lot of that, but I made this top here and I don't actually have any photos , but I have my little Ig reels so you can see me with my style and wearing it and I will try to post it for each of the looks. here is this one. I loved the elastic and I will list all the patterns for you in my blog post so in the description box below there is a link and in that blog post you will be able to find the patterns I used for Most of this is just there one thing I still have to look up the pattern for because I don't remember what it is but when you see this and go to the blog it will be there so this was the first shirt.

More Interesting Facts About,

everything i made in december...

This is actually a new pattern from Simplicity that came out not too long ago and I love the little collar and elastic sleeve. It's like a cute, perfect button-down shirt and this adorable mushroom fabric I bought. I think it was Joanne's, honestly. I think that's where I found it and I bought enough to make matching pants, so these are super flowy wide leg pants that I made, they're actually um, I think it's like an old Vogue pattern, honestly, I think it's out of stock, but I will make it if it's out of stock. I'll have it linked or photos of the pattern or maybe as a substitute pattern that you could use in the blog post.

The only change I made to it was that I added elastic to the back. I just find that it makes my pants more comfortable to wear, especially if they are high waisted pants, so I add elastic in the back, which means I just cut my band and my pants a little bigger in the back to being able to insert the elastic and create kind of this little snapback so that was one and then um challenge that no one talks to you right and this shirt I've made twice before you can see them here and here um and they both have the same pattern only one different view different style this fabric is probably one of my favorites it is a fabric that I have in my fabric store melanatedfabrics.com and I love this fabric it is so amazing it feels fantastic and I love the neutral brown tones I just don't know the vibe.

I was feeling it and it has buttons on the shoulder so it's a little bit off the shoulder and then it has buttons all the way down and then of course I added my label so I made the shirt and then I have a matching pair of pants and these actually they don't there's no pattern Sorry this was actually taken from a pair of pants I found at a thrift store like two years ago and I loved how big and baggy I don't know that's not conscious . but just tell me how balloony it was and it's high waisted they're super big and flowy and I love these pants and I wear those second hand pants all the time so I just rubbed them on and created a pattern and then made them obviously match my shirt and of course they have pockets and on the inside I put a drawstring so they are elastic, but that center row has a drawstring so I loved this look, then I pulled out one of my old ones. and true patterns that I designed with Simplicity many years ago, I actually think it's out of stock so I plan to bring back a new jumpsuit pattern for fall 2023, so if you have this amazing pattern, if you don't it's available . print like I said, but you might still be able to find it sometimes like in the drawers at Joann's or maybe even on Etsy, so this is my pattern.
I think the number is 80 60. All of this information will be like I said in the blog post, but it's probably one of my favorite patterns I've designed. I love a great boiler suit, um, and this one is really amazing, it has this front zipper fly, pockets, it has a drawstring waist, it has pockets, just a bunch of stuff and then of course I add my tag to the pocket . I love that jumpsuit or jumpsuit and that fabric is actually melanated fabrics too, so I don't know if we still have some in stock, but if we do, I'll link to them. in that blog post um and then I hacked another one of my patterns, I think last fall, maybe the fall before, I can't remember, I released a sweatshirt pattern with a matching ribbed wrap skirt, kind of um, I don't HE. like a more updated loungewear look where you don't necessarily want to wear sweatpants but you still want to wear something casual and comfortable but still be cute, that pattern was a big hit so that's what this sweatshirt is , except I made some modifications because I trimmed it down so that was really the only thing I changed is I trimmed the length of my actual pattern and again I always wear my little tags and then of course I made matching joggings.
I love them, this is probably one of the things I like the most. that I love to wear are like high waist wide leg joggers so these are a modification also I think it's a Vogue pattern or maybe one from Simplicity again on the blog post that pattern was super basic and not exactly what I wanted, so I just used it as a basis for what I wanted. I raised the waist so I could make it high. I made the leg more flared. I added the pleat to the front of the legs, which I think is actually fine for both of them. front and back I love pinning a jogger.
I made the waistband wider and made a big thick elastic and then I also made a drawstring and of course they had pockets. So I did. I also made this dress before. I made this dress which is really great, easy to wear. I made it with a heavy ribbed fabric that I don't know where I got it from, but where I got it the fabric is amazing, it feels great and has a heavier feel. a ribbed fabric and you know, even though the dress is pretty basic, I added elastic to the waist and I also took away the skirt part a little bit because the dress is meant to be a little more flowy at the bottom and I wanted more . of tight skirt, so I took a little bit off and because it's a knit fabric, I worked with a significant amount of negative ease and on the front it's okay, it's cute, you know, like the shape of the sleeve and everything. and the waist and the elastic, but it's the back that I really love because it's low, it's kind of sexy, so I really loved wearing this, I wore it with my Docs and then the last thing I did in the month of December, which actually probably took the most time was Nikki's pattern from Nomi's patterns, if you're not familiar, I launched a new line of patterns, uh, with the big four, now we're the big five and it's the patterns from Nomi and the entire line is designed by designers. or creators in the community, so I basically license all these amazing creators and give them the opportunity to have their own pattern lines that we released in the fall, in October, and it's been so amazing that the next release should be very soon , probably looking early.
February for their early spring patterns, so stay tuned, but this is me 2001, this is Nikki's pattern, um, and it's this amazing coat. I love this coat. I made it with gray wool that we have at melanated Fabrics. I'll link to it if I still have it. What I loved about Nikki's um pattern is that she has this super exaggerated collar and lapel. She has this wide band that I actually made a little wider on the sleeve. Obviously she has pockets, belt loops and a belt. but no button closure so it's super easy to make and wear and then I fully lined it with this beautiful silky fabric I bought at Joann's.
I added my little Loop here because sometimes I like to hang my jacket so I always add a little Loop um. and it's beautiful, now it's super long. Normally I would have cut the pattern, made it a little shorter because I'm only 5'4 um, but I really liked how the pattern almost reached my ankle, so I left it. That lens saw me, it's super long. On Nikki it goes to mid-calf, so depending on your height you may want to adjust the pattern, but like I said, I loved how long it was and the weight of it.
This yarn is not very heavy, so it doesn't feel very heavy. Me and I wore it the entire time I was away and I love this coat. I plan to do it again, so I think that's all I did in the month of December.
