signs and the first of all you can do is remove the jute label from the back and take a heat gun and heat the heart to remove it and then heat the paper to remove the paper and then spray it with water to remove the rest, then you will take three of the boards and you will go ahead and mark them and divide them into pieces because these will be the supports for your door and a utility.

The knife works really well with these about six slices and they're going to break, so you're going to turn them over, four of them on the back which is going to be your door and we're going to go ahead and hold them down. with these three braces that you just cut, we're going to use wood glue on them and we're just going to join them together, just drag the groove of the wood in a zigzag shape and then smooth it out with paint. glue and then adhere it to the back and we're going to place three of these along the back, okay, and then you're just going to add a um on your gusset, you're going to have one closer to the edge of the top and one closer to the edge. . all the way to the edge to the bottom and then one in the center and after we have it all glued together, we're going to put some books on top and let it dry and it'll probably take a while, I would say. about 30 minutes to dry and then you can go ahead and flip it over and do the other side.

More Interesting Facts About,

diy dollar tree valentines decor farmhouse style...

Okay, now that it's dry, we're going to go ahead and turn it over to the front and we'll start attaching our wood. On the front so the barn door shows through, we'll take one at the top and measure two and a half inches down and mark that on both sides and that's where the top of our first bracket is. we're going to go, we're just going to line it up and then we're going to draw a line with a pencil so we know exactly where it is and then we're going to do the same thing all the way down, but this time forward. the bottom one we're going to go up two and a half inches from the bottom and that's where the bottom of our brace is going to be so mark it on both sides and mark the bottom of the brace on that line and then we're just going to draw a pencil through that to find out where our support is, after that we're going to bring in our two diagonals and we're going to attach the top of the piece of wood to the edge of the bottom. line at the top and we're going to go over and we're going to make it come down to the front of the center now these are going to overlap over those lines and that's where you're going to get your mark line so you can you can cut your diagonal, your diagonal is going to be on the same line that the pencil line of the bottom bracket that you just crossed so you can draw that diagonal there and then we'll do the same thing on the top and we'll just make sure that at the top the edge of that diagonal is in the corner of the bottom of the top line and then you'll go ahead and do the same for the other side. make sure that corner is on the bottom line of the top piece and then you're going to cut the line there, after we mark or score it, we're going to go over and cut those pieces with the knife and just make sure that when you're ready to paint them you know that the You are going to paint on the side with the mark to make sure both ears are opposite.
diy dollar tree valentines decor farmhouse style
I've done this before and I actually painted both pieces the same and I tried to put them together and it wasn't right and we're just going to mark them with our ruler probably about six times and you should be able to fit that together. half and then after we break it down we're going to go ahead and just clean up that edge with the knife, there's also going to be a little bit of excess on the edge and we're just going to clean that up and then We're going to go ahead and do that on the other three sides, cut all of our diagonals and clean up the edges so they line up with our top and bottom braces.

Okay, now that we've done it. We're going to go ahead and put tape over the middle of the lines that we drew and the reason we do that is because we just want to make sure that when we put down the wood glue and I put on the braces. Again, we actually have wood on wood and not wood on paint because it will make it hold up better and it will be permanent, it won't come off and we are going to do the same thing with our braces? to line them up from the bottom line to the top line of the bottom with the bottom line in and then we're going to draw them because we want to do the same thing, we want to have wood on wood, so let's To mask off those areas you're also going to want to make sure you do that because we also you'll want to use this for other projects.
We're using it for Valentine's Day, but you can use it for Easter. Put an Easter wreath on it. has a Christmas wreath, we want it to last, we're going to go ahead and just tape off those two areas and then we're going to get ready to paint and what we're going to do first is to paint our base coat, so all you have to do it's just applying it, it doesn't have to be perfect, we're using um annie sloane paris gray paint and this is just our base coat that we're going to get. everything there, paint the sides really well, get your braces right and then we'll use the wood grain tool, the wood grain tool we'll paint it white and we'll just place it there, it doesn't have to be like that. perfect because we're going to remove a lot, we're going to take our paint tool, our wood grain tool and we're going to swing it and drag it, you can walk away if you don't do it right.
The first time on this first line, you can go over it again, but you're literally rocking and crawling to get that grain line and we're going to continue doing that with all of them and I did these first two, they just sing singular by themselves. but then I found out that you can do two at a time with this wood grain tool and you get this tool on Amazon and I will give you a link in the description and it also comes with another little wood grain tool so you can do smaller jobs. , but the more you move and drag it, you'll see that the wood grain really stands out.
You can do many projects with this. I made an entire wall with this and it turned out really, really good. It didn't have to be perfect, you know, a barn door is never perfect, but we'll continue to do this with all the pieces of wood and then don't forget to do it with the braces as well. Get it real quick, you're probably already thinking of other projects you can use this for. If too much paint gets on the tool, just take a paper towel and wipe it off, then we'll go ahead and remove. our paint because I don't mean our tape because we don't want it to stick to our paint and then we had to remove some of the paint when we're done so we're going to go ahead and move our tape from time to time.
Paint your other braces well, we're going to let them dry and then we're going to come back and put the braces on, just line them up and then we're going to glue them on, just make sure you have it lined up because wood glue dries fast and it's permanent. Alright, now let's go ahead and do our hardware. We'll take a sheet of cork board and trace our pattern. It will have that pattern in the description, the link, you can cut four of those and I'm using these precision scissors, they're really good for fine tuning. I'm going to paint them with black paint and then I'm going to add some hardware, just some little nails and I'm just going to cut out the back of them and then we're going to glue them onto our hardware and then we're going to paint them black too after I get them. those painted ones and we're going to let them dry, we're going to go ahead and attach them to our barn door, we're just going to have an adhesive on them so remove the adhesive but just force it to make sure they're secure. go ahead and I put a little bit of hot glue on the back of them just to make sure I put one on the four dots and we're just going to glue them together and I got the dollar tree cork board.
It really is a very good cork board. Then we're going to take our heart that I bought at Hobby Lobby and the rest of our flowers that we got at Hobby Lobby and we're going to attach them to our wreath and we're just going to take each piece and we're going to wrap it with a piece of wire and then we're going to overlap the next flower over the wire. the first one and we'll go down to one side and add a little bit of heat. glue just to secure them, okay, after we're done with them, we're going to go ahead and add a bow to them, we're going to take our gray and white plaid ribbon again and put a bow on it.
We're going to tie a loop and then we're going to come back and we're going to make another loop and we're going to place it diagonally on that loop to make it a little bit fuller loop and then we're going to put a hook in the wood and we're going to put a wire on the back of our wreath so we can attach it to our wood, just screw a little hook in there and hang the wreath. You will start what you will need. Three of the dollar tree hearts will need to be wet and the covers removed.
Warm water works best and they will peel off and make the next layer and you can scrape them off with a scraper and then dry them. Give them a nice look when you're done, so what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and paint them with the gray paint, we're going to paint the top and the sides of all of them and place them. aside and let them dry very well then we're going to come back with the white paint and we're going to paint the sides and do the texture one at a time, we're just going to take the tool, the texture tool and we're going to drag it along the sides and we'll balance as we go, that way you'll get different grains in different areas, the more you move it, the more different the grain will be, then we'll do the opposite side like Well, if you drag the grain you'll get more for the holes in the grain, the wood like the knots in the wood and, just drag it around and play with it a little bit and you can see how it works, so you can go ahead and We paint the front, we're going to do it in three different sections because we're going to try to make it look like a piece of wood, so we'll drag the vein tool in three different sections over this and then Let's do this wholeheartedly.
If you make a mistake, you can go back over the grain pretty quickly while the paint is still wet and it will change its appearance, but just hold it, drag it and move it and you're done. How are you going to get that nice grain effect again? We're going to do this one in three sections because we're going to make it look like there are three separate pieces of wood glued together and we'll do it with the third one too there's a lot of room for error and you won't even see that you did it right, we'll let them dry really well, then We will take a ruler and draw the division lines. between where we come down, each in three sections, make sure you mark it where you can see it very, very well, then we can come back with a utility knife and we're going to cut slots on those lines and you'll get a utility.
You can get a knife at any of your local hardware stores and just drag it pretty hard so you can get a nice groove in there and go slow because you don't want to cut yourself just move it in there so it looks like it's separate pieces of wood so let's join it together our hearts and we're just going to use some dimensions and we're going to glue them on just to make sure that they stay and then In fact, we're going to glue them on the heart just to make sure that they're secure and we're going to do this with the three hearts , then we come back with some jute and we'll wrap it 12 times. and leave a little tail so you can tie a bow at the end so that end gets tied to another end, so just 12 wraps and you can use whatever thickness of jute you want.
I used a thinner, thinner one and I got that at michaels and then you're just going to make a bow and yeah, I also wanted to tell you that two of the hearts, um, because they have a ledge where they stand on their side, two of the hearts face up. the same way. one of the hearts is facing opposite so when I group them into three I can have two of the same one on each end and then the opposite one in the center and when you get them at Dollar Tree you'll see what I'm talking about and then we're just going to glue that bow so it stays and we'll do the same with the other two too, there you have three hearts that are really super cute, use them however you want, it's okay in this video.
This will be our p.s. I love you, vase with flowers and we are going to start painting our hearts with gray paint. Go ahead and give them two coats, paint a lot because we're going to use them in another project as well. It's fine for this project. We will need other items from the dollar tree. We will need a vase. We'll need some jute. We'll need some hearts. We're going to need some beads, I bought them at Michael's, we're going to need some ribbon, I also bought my ribbon at Michael's, we're going to need a whiteboard pen and one of those foam ones and the flowers, and first I got the flowers at the hobby lobby.
Everything, we're going to take our jute and we're going to fold it in half because we're going to pass it through this heart twice and you canJust hold it in front of your face and determine how long you want. your jute just make it double thickness we're going to run it through there and then we're going to tie it and then we're going to add our beads and the easiest way to do that is put a little bit of hot glue on the end and then twist it with your fingers it won't be very hot once it starts spinning and then they will thread through those beads very easily, so I'm just going to start threading those beads and putting them all in. there after we put them in we'll do a double knot at the end to secure them and then I added our heart at the end and that's what's going to secure it on our vase just tie it really tight and again.
I secured it with two knots, okay, so we're going to trim that jute and then we're going to add some ribbon to it and we're just going to take some plaid ribbon and we're just going to tie it. a bow and we're going to hot glue it to the front of that heart, then we're going to put it aside, we're going to start building our vase, we're going to run a ribbon through the front. we cut it out and we're going to fold the edge like we were hemming it, we're going to hem the top so there aren't any loose ends and we're going to glue it to our vase and then we're going to go down and put some glue in the middle and then we're going to finish off the end the same way, we're going to put it underneath and glue it all the way to the bottom, then we're going to add our heart and these are the hearts that we're going to get from another project and we're just going to bend and shape it until it's the shape of the vase and then we're just going to glue it on then we're going to add a ribbon to the front and the same ribbon, our plaid ribbon, we tie it in a bow and we're just going to attach it to the front with a little bit of hot glue and then we're going to take our vase and we're going to put our foam in it and the flowers that I bought at the hobby lobby I'm going to put them on either side of the foam, not inside the foam because they were very long and tall and I I wanted them to do it, I wanted to keep its height not too high so that it wouldn't overpower the roses that we're going to place there next and then next we'll just take them out and start placing our roses. just place them however you want randomly until you have them all there and those will go into the foam itself, then we'll take our hearts and write with a pencil and then and then I paint over those, I'm putting ps on one i and then love and then you on another and then we're just going to take our chalk pen and we're going to go over the letters and fill them in, then we're going to attach them to some sticks so we can stick them on our vase and we're just going to glue the sticks to the back with a little bit of hot glue and then we're going to take a little bit of ribbon and We're going to tie a ribbon to each of the hearts on the front, top, just a little bit of glue on the top and attach each of the ribbons.
Next, we are going to join our hearts in our vase and we are going to stagger them, one in front, one in the back, one in front, one in the back so that they will be easy to read when they are on the mantelpiece or wherever you are going to place them and After that we're just going to take our beads and put our hearts in the vase and then we're done. Well, what you're going to need for this one is you're going to need a heart sign. You will need some tape. some coffee filters some hearts on the dollar tree a paintbrush some wire some chalk paint a bottle full of warm water a bottle with water and chalk paint mixed together you will need a hot glue gun and a fountain heat the first thing we're going to do What we're going to do is cut our jute from there and then we're going to take the heat gun and we're going to heat it up to remove that love from there and then we're going to start peeling the paper and we're going to pour water on it. so the paper comes loose and then you can use a scraper to scrape it off, then we'll dry it, then we'll paint it, we'll just add chalk paint to it, we'll paint everything.
It doesn't have to be perfect and then we're going to take our ribbon and we're going to tie the hanger to it. I cut mine to 28 inches long, we're going to pass it through and tie it with two. knots on each side and you want to do this before putting the coffee filters in because you won't be able to remove them again. I'm going to go ahead and take our coffee filters and we're going to take them in the center and smooth them out. Take them out and we're going to cut them an inch at the bottom and you can put two at a time, it's very easy, go ahead and apply your hot glue gun to them and we're going to go ahead and go around the edges first and go around all the edges until you get at the end and then we'll start filling it in the center and you can do that, you can use about three of those at the same time. makes it go a lot faster, you do it, we'll shape it a little bit and then we'll start taking our paint, we put gray paint in a spray bottle and we're just simplifying the a little bit the color of the coffee filters.
I'm going to take our ribbon and we're going to measure it about four inches long and we're just going to wrap it around and keep making loops until we have about 10 loops and then we're going to cut it and then we're going to take it and fold it in half and then we're going to mark in half we're going to cut a third on this side and a third on this side and then we're going to attach our cable and then we're going to twist our cable on the back to make sure it's tied tight there and then we're going to cut it and then we're going to start rolling out our our ribbon until we have the shape we wanted, then we're going to take it and put it on our heart, just see where we want it to be a habit, spread it out and get your design idea, then we're going to take one of those hearts of wood and we're going to paint it gray because we're going to put it right in the middle of our tape and we're going to go ahead and hot glue the tape and then we're going to go ahead and put a little bit. under some of the loops just to hold it in place, then we're going to take our love sign and we're going to stick glue up to each letter and then we'll glue that down as well. and you can put them wherever you want, you can put your ribbon on top if you want and then we will add our heart, then our wreath will be ready, we can hang it for Valentine's Day, this is really easy. one this is the garland that we are going to make with some of the materials that we used in the previous videos we are going to use the hearts from our signs we are going to use the chalkboard hearts and then we are going to use the gray hearts that we made earlier, we will just alternate them in three, we will attach our silver heart with a mini clothespin and then we will attach our gray heart and our black heart with jute. then we're going to make a bunch of little checkered bows and attach them to the gray hearts and the black hearts.
If you want to know how long your garland should last, take the string to the fireplace and simply measure it. first and then start adding until you fill it up, if you like the video please like it, if you want to see future videos please subscribe and if you want to be notified when I have another video hit the bell, thanks for watching, I appreciate it .
