Hundreds of rare JDM cars in storage waiting for export at a Top Rank secret warehouse!

Mar 09, 2024
Thank you, we are in an undisclosed location in Japan, for obvious reasons we cannot say where we are, but we can say that this is a top-notch

warehouse

, indeed it is and it is full. I think there is plenty of room left for you. who doesn't know, Top Rank is an importer, they actually import Japanese vehicles all over the world, but they import a lot to the US, they legalize, they do a lot of things right, so I bought my red H3 1990 R32 GTR from above. Rank, as well as many other YouTubers, as you know, Dustin Williams is one of them.

That being said, I have never had a chance to see the source of these vehicles, yes, so this is the Japanese side of the operation and the

storage

of the The Japanese side of the operation is a great operation and these guys do it very well As you will see, there are a lot of

cars

here. I think most of them are obviously here for

storage

waiting

for 25 years to come, yeah it's overwhelming. It's really especially for two big GTR nerds like me and you know, I mean this is just a row, you know, forget about the fact that we literally walked outside through rows and rows of s-15s, r34 evos, everything what you can imagine.

More Interesting Facts About,

hundreds of rare jdm cars in storage waiting for export at a top rank secret warehouse...

Any dream car you can think of is here, it's a JDM dream car, so I guess they gather them all over Japan with auctions, private sellers, yes, private sellers too, because you can tell they're really looking for the good stuff, as we saw a couple. of uh S15 spe

cars

with original wheels and original correct height, you just don't see that these days, you know unless you really know specifically where to go look for them so they definitely know where to go and find the good stuff, yeah, because there is a place for modified vehicles you have someone like Andy Gray in motor vehicles who specifically cares about those that are tastefully modified and will be driven hard, many of these will become collector cars because many of them are original and the fact They have original wheels, so many original wheels, so many original interiors, all of that there are some modified, but this is the cream of the crop, this is as crazy as possible in terms of GTR.

Honey, this is the line that blows my mind, Dino, yeah. I'm going straight to the midnight purple three yeah okay tell us about this so yeah the midnight purple 3 was a very limited edition color that was offered in the reversal of the cookie to the zenky sorry the Zinky to the cookie. Rather, it's a slightly lighter purple color, so it turns out better. The reflections can be seen as it just turns so naturally and comes with lighter colored original wheels and then that color also matches on the spoiler blade so it is normal. The original wheel is this kind of gray, right, yeah, and then, and then the spoiler would be and the spoiler would be this, but I love that we're glossing over, like, look at all of these, what's the color called? ? uh Millennium uh money Jade.
hundreds of rare jdm cars in storage waiting for export at a top rank secret warehouse
Millennium Jade, we have three of them here, they cost about half a million dollars each, now the nurse, yeah, yeah, and this is probably even more because there were only 300 of these. I don't know, it depends on the market. I'm not really informed, but I'm sure it's going to be a lot higher than the regular 34 just because of the color and how

rare

it is, and what I really like about this one is that it hasn't been changed, right? It has the original wheels, it doesn't even have spacers or anything completely stuck on except for an exhaust and a smile you know minor things but yeah you might see a midnight purple three but they are usually with different wheels.
I think most owners probably will. Keep them in the garage somewhere and just throw in some spares for those people wondering why there aren't a million three-car stackers here. Very, very simple. This is a question I asked. The answer is: we are in Japan. even while we were here we felt a lot of earthquakes that I don't even know well in Fukushima yeah yesterday we felt a pretty interesting one and I mean you see people using stackers but you know it's an added risk and when you're storing this kind of car value is a risk that most people are willing to take and I'm sure in terms of insurance it would cause problems so go for size.
Gone are the days when you could find an affordable R32, R33 and R34 GTR. I remember you were telling me just a couple of years ago that you could get one for about $10 000 for R32, it would probably be 12 or 13 years ago, as I remember, I had a lot of friends in the army back then and you know, in the late 2000s we were buying 32's for like 10 15 grand and yeah those days are gone yeah and also for those of you wondering why Dino knows so much about the GTR, well he's one of the few left in the one owner world R34 GTR 1999 Unfortunately I'm going to do it anyway Bayside Blue and it's been through so many different transformations right now it's green it's wrapped green it's wrapped I would never paint it yeah but it's something you know it was more or less My first experience with the R34 coming to Japan.
I think over 10 years ago, Dino took me and we filmed a lot during that trip, but it was interesting to experience Japanese car culture to the fullest in the best way and now after. All these years these things have become almost unattainable. The whole thing about the GTR before the 35 came along is that it was the affordable Supercar, the affordable car, you know, the one that people could work hard on and you know they could eventually afford it, but the 35 brought higher prices than they kept going up and then you know the T spec that we're driving today is like you know 140 Grand and it's not really what the GTR was originally supposed to be so these cars are practically ten times bigger than what it is. today yes, we have been driving essentially in what is the latest version of the R35 GTR, the best version known as t-spec in Millennium Jade and the crazy thing is that it is a high-end vehicle, 140 Grand, most of these vehicles in This many are worth as much, or double or triple, which is crazy that I hope I ignore, that would be half a million now.
The crazy thing too is that I remember just a couple of years ago you were writing articles about rising prices and I think it was like a groundbreaking story when something like this was going for 200, yeah, yeah, you know, and it never stopped, ha been working, keeps going up and up and up and up. I'm so impressed just being able to look at this, I mean we can probably spend time counting the cars that are here, but again, like I said, this isn't all, it's just a fraction of what's around this facility and, ya You know, the craziest fact is that there are only three. of these are left for sale, they are all already sold and they are all

waiting

to be

export

ed waiting for the 25 year mark, they are all going to leave Japan and, in fact, another thing I wanted to talk to you about.
Is there some kind of backlash with the Japanese selling them and leaving Japan, yes or no? I mean, you run into GTR owners who are kind of upset because you know these cars are leaving Japan, they only made 12,000 or 34 GTRs to start with, production-wise, few of you knew about the three of the second-generation GTR , so seeing so many, I mean, all the cars here will be out of the country, it's almost sad to think about it, but I don't think anyone expected it. the value will increase and many people are not prepared to keep such valuable cars and especially in terms of maintenance the cost has increased so much that even maintaining these cars is almost too much for some people.
Honestly, I blame Gran Turismo and you know. just that generation of showing the world how special these vehicles really are and what everyone else was missing out on because they were so far away from becoming legal or becoming a reality, especially in the US, has been like keeping the price stable. for so long. They have been turning 25 for many years now, that's when they are really coming out and once they become federally legal they will be even more expensive, just a casual Evo any other time there is an EK, not our Civic Type R uk -9 o Any time there is an Evo 5 anywhere I would be absolutely impressed, but when we are here they just blend in and this car in particular, we have been seeing how many you have seen in the last few days. a scrambled summit at Andy's so this is the 260 RS it's basically this estate version of an r33 GTR same engine running here so these cars were pretty affordable up until a few years ago but then you know when they started to become quite prohibitively, you know, expensive people started to look for these and, here's two more coming out of the country, yeah, and the interesting thing is what I see often is when people really turn the front of this into our third floor for Yes, and in fact, just outside we saw that there was one that was already converted underneath.
It's essentially an r33 GTR through and through in every way, including the river steering and all the component dampers. Wow, if I didn't know any better just by looking at it. here i would think it's uh r33 connect your cars yeah the same engine basically looks exactly the same wow 32. obviously this part looks like an R34 the way it lines up here there are a lot of modifications you have to do to put the front of the R34 on this, I'm not too sure, I mean I'm sure you have to modify quite a bit, but it seems like it's such a common thing that you know it's probably going to be more bolted on than most. people would imagine that because they're still kind of similar at heart in the US, especially I think we have very good reflections in the US, especially I think we'll see a lot more of these, you know.
This is interesting because its

export

has been legal for many years, but now its price is rising even more. Yeah, I mean, there are a lot of these cars in the United States, and most like this one, they're not the real deal. they are like you know a 2000 GT oh my god you have to cancel this is the real one this is the real one this is a s20 this is a s20 engine this is a s20 because I looked inside and it said 2000 GT There is not GTR, this is a real GTR and the reason we know it's also a real GTR, so yeah, I mean, these are the original Fender Flare, so yeah, it came with just the original fenders flared at the rear, yeah, and then the big difference is the s20 of course, so a two liter straight six that was shared with the beautiful lady 432.
This is interesting because maybe when they were replacing some of the interior they couldn't find the GTR parts and they put 2000 GT stuff or maybe you say 2000 like I'm not very familiar with these cars, but yeah, you know you can see a lot of them, even a daikoku, and you know they're all GTR badged, but they're not so much, on this one condition, this is almost It was like a daily driver or barn find condition with just a couple hours of effort cleaning this up. This would look like a completely new car. I mean, it's not working very well right now, but you know, with a little TLC, you can get it.
I assume these are not original wheels, but no, these are the ones in our business or at least seen. Wheels, look how cool, it says the firing order here, yeah, right, so 432 and to see one with the original air box, four valves and three. carburetors two cams exactly twin cam twin cam so, you know, back in the day, in the same generation you would have had the L Series, so it was a single cam, so having a twin cam in '69, when it came out, was a Big thing, I'm glad it has a Mr Strong Mr Strong battery, this is cool, look at the headers.
I guess those are the original headers so yeah for those people that don't know you have to press that button to lower the hood otherwise you would destroy it yeah I'm not going to touch cars like this yeah but look at this original air filter, absolutely amazing, so good, so good, oh my god, this is number 344. But since we are still talking about older models. cars let's look at this one because oh yeah so this is a short nose taco right so yeah this one has the coolest interior this one is so Japanese lace this is um I think it's closed but if you can open it later, maybe you'll get a whiff of those 70's mats, that's what we call them mats in the US, but lace, yeah, they love their lace, especially in the cabs, uh, yeah, the cabs or anyone over 70 will have that on their cars and it's crazy, like you can still do it. buy it as a Lexus LS and if you check the options list you'll get the fitment package for your seats and all that.
I like this look it says halogen oh that was cool love I love it I love it I love it I love this color um but also the fact that it's short nose this is the second short nose I've I've seen and there's another interesting thing down here, we're talking about original wheels before and you know I'm one of those who really regrets selling my original 34 wheels, yeah. before people make fun of you for selling your original wheels this is what we do this is what I do with each of my cars once I got my A90 Supra those wheels were just fortransport the vehicle and be able to change them.
You know, otherwise, that's just how things are. Don't know. I mean, you get an original vehicle and you want to modify it right away and that's what you've done, but now this is what happened when the car came. these wheels, the ride was bad, it just didn't look right, like the first thing you want to do is get rid of them and that's what I did. I put the c28 ends raised at 19 inches so I went up an inch and I actually sold my wheels to Andy and he used them for drifting so god knows where they are now Andy Andy Andy but this is cool I have R34 GTR wheels super um Honda P9 or dc2 yes, ek9 dc2 32 32 but not GTR, it looks like S15 wheels.
I think this was an optional wheel maybe for the 32 or 33. Yeah, the old Tech Japan ah 33 Wheels, so you know? that these wheels were made by BBS Japan oh I had no idea oh those are our 33 wheels, yes 34. I'm not sure about the 32, yes these are 32, but they are not the GTR ones, yes I think if you look going back maybe there's a BDS stamp somewhere or maybe not, but look at this right behind you. I haven't even looked at this row yet. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Do you know if. I couldn't even guess.
Could not. I even guess how much everything is worth, but like you said, you know what I'm really happy about the fact that while many of these vehicles were loved here in Japan and I'm sure they were used for daily driver use or on any track . use, these are people's dream cars, you know the fact that people finally after all these years can get their dream car, well they still have to wait for many of them, yes two years more, so I include myself, you know, while I have an R32 I already have many nice vehicles that were my dream cars.
I'm very lucky to have the 34 S15. You know, it's just the JDM. All you JDM Legends would definitely love to have one someday and these are it. all of them are owned except three except three except three maybe we'll see them after we're done filming, but I just wanted to thank you for taking us and playing your part and keeping car culture alive so where can people follow us? so you can follow me on speedhunters.com or on my Instagram Dino underline underline carbonate I apologize for the long name but I'm Italian but where they should really follow you is your YouTube channel and yes, I recently restarted an old YouTube channel that I started many years ago, many years, it's through white lenses, so I think I'll try to do what you're doing, but yeah, here in Japan, so I hope I can be as good as you and show car culture through my eyes.
Yes, if you want to follow Dino and want to learn more about Japanese car culture, I know he recently took a tour of the Nissan Omari factory, right at the Nismo or Mario factory, and yes, it's a little bit more in-depth compared to just reading an article and it's much easier to consume that type of content, so definitely check out Dino's YouTube channel through the white glasses. Yeah, if you want to see more of this stuff, definitely check out Dino's YouTube channel and maybe in the future I don't know, we'll do some more collaborations, well, I hope you enjoyed this tour.
I don't know what else to talk about, but we will walk if there is something else, we will show it. We have to finish it with a good GTR, right? Oh yes, yes, yes, we need me.
