This video shows the construction of a large LED

installation

using dimmable white LED strips. A total of 20 m of LED strips are used. The only tool needed is a screwdriver. The power supply is already connected to 230V. Due to the high power, the controller has 2 voltage inputs in parallel. This allows us to split the thick power supply cables into two thinner cables using WAGO terminals. s, a total power of 200 watts is obtained.

The power supply power should be much higher. Here we use a 240 watt power supply. The driver must also match the installation. The power of 200 watts divided by 24 volts gives a current of less than 9 amps. Our controller has 4 outputs of 5 amps each. We do not recommend more than 4 amps per outlet. So a total of 16 amps... This is well above the 9 amps needed here. Then the controller is suitable. Furthermore, we recommend not running more than 5

meter

s of LED strips in a row. Otherwise the LED strips will be overloaded. That's why it makes sense to connect the four 5 meter rolls to one output of the LED driver.

Let's start with that. First, insert the connecting wires of the LED strips into the output screw terminals and screw them together. Make sure the polarity is correct. Then pull out all the cables again and check that they are firmly seated. Once everything is connected, we can test the configuration. Just turn it on. The LEDs should now be at their maximum brightness. The next step is to learn how to connect the remote control. First, check that the batteries are inserted correctly and that any protective film has been removed. The dimmer has a small learn button to learn the remote control.

Press this briefly and then press any button on the remote control. The LEDs should flash briefly. This will connect the remote to the dimmer and you can control the brightness immediately. Our LED dimmers always remember the last setting. After turning off and on again, the LEDs will light up at the previously set brightness.
