Apr 09, 2024
hello guys today I'm going to show you how to make these six

clean

and

simple

sympathy

cards

let's start with this one I'm making it in different colors because I'm making it for a special group of family of mine so let's start with this okay, This is all you need to make this card. I printed a very sorry feeling on my computer and I'm going to make the base card with this section. I'm going to grab my paper cutter, cut this to four and a quarter and at the same time I'm going to cut this. Now I want this sentiment to be about three-quarters of an inch below the actual card, so I'm going to cut. it's right there, so I'm literally going to line up that mark that I made here with my line and my paper cutter and I'm going to cut it, then I'm going to cut it at five and a half like this and the last cut is going to be What I'm going to do is get it from the width of this, which is one and three quarters or a little bit more than three quarters, so I'm going to take out my other paper cutter and I want it to start over here very close to this, so I'm sorry.

In fact, I'm going to cut it in two and tell you why, in case there's any excess, I can always cut it frequently, so this is all you need to make the card here. You also need a rounding tool, so let's leave the card here. so you'll see us do it again, so I'm going to fold this in half. I'm not going to bother marking and polishing today I can't even find my bone fold, okay there it is, there's my bone folder. I'm going to fold this in half, so what you're going to do with this one is round the corners of this and I'm going to do that right, so we want this card to look like this.

Now let's start building the card. I'm going to take my corner rounder around the side of this one and this will match it perfectly. Let's put some glue on the back and stick it on. You're lining it up at the bottom here at the top. and you're gluing it perfect so we're going to take this piece we're going to put a little bit of glue on the back I'm going to line it up right against this exactly against it and I'm going to glue it like this and then I'm going to take this thing that we just cut beautifully and I'm going to round the other side obviously and we are going to glue it remember that we left a little bit we left it a little bit to hang so Let's see how much hangs and how much we could.

We have to cut again, so it hangs a little bit here, so what I'm going to do is cut this with my paper cutter. I'm going to put it in my paper cutter. I'm going to cover it like four and a quarter. I'm going to open it up and fold that corner again and now it's perfectly rounded. Look at that, then, what I like about what I have. Here I can show you how you can use different colors coordinating colors to make the same card very beautifully, so now we're going to set this up, we're going to mock it up and I don't want it to be like that. it's going to be too long because it looks like it's too long, so I'm going to cut it at an angle down here, like this, and we're going to add it to make it look like it's coming from the sorry, so it looks like. good for me, um, I'm going to glue it on now, so to glue it on, I'm just going to put a few dots of glue on the leaves, just a couple of leaves, I'm going to line a little bit of glue here.

I'm going to grab my tweezers, I'm going to leave this first to make sure where it's coming from and then I'm going to stick some of these flowers here, it's flat and beautiful, the next card we're going to make is this one and let's um as always I'm going to leave it up here so you can see how I do it I'm going to cut this in half and the first thing we're going to decorate is the strip of vellum, I have three pieces of flowers here and basically I'm going to decorate them based on these flowers, so what I like do is simulate the flowers first cut them and then add different ones so let's make a mockup of these to see what they look like yeah that looks good so I'm just going to make a little mop on the top e bottom here and you don't want to put any glue on the back of the vellum because then I'll see the glue and since part of this has to be under the other section, I'm just going to put a little bit of blue glue here and then because we have all these beautiful leaves here.
I'm going to put a little bit of glue on the back of the leaves just because if you put it behind the vellum you're going to see the glue stain and that doesn't look very pretty and now I'm going to glue it along these lines. that I created here, make sure it's square and paste it. If you're like me, I make mistakes and stand out too much. Here I'm just going to open it up, take your scissors and cut off the part that's sticking out. Card um, so it's flush, you see, now we have kind of a perfect edge here and now we can install everything else, which I'll start all the way to the end of the card, however I want to put it. up top, I want to lift it up off the card a little bit and I don't want these to get in the way because they're already erased from the card, so I want to put my foam here and here so that my foam tape and I'm going to take this off and I'm going to look at this around , well, I'm not going to look, I'll probably put it around a little over half an inch and once you add it up here, It should be fine here, yeah, exactly, that's it and now we're just going to add some beads, okay, so you're going to make this card and we'll make it in this color.
I'm going to start by creating the flowers because I have to use these flowers for this card and another card so first I'm going to create the flowers to heat emboss the first thing I'm going to do is grab some baby powder that I don't have. a body embossing tool, so I'm just going to take some baby powder and I rub my paper with the baby powder just on a whole piece of fabric, then I'm going to take my first mark and my two beautiful floral stamps. to stick it on an acrylic block i will take some ink and press it lightly onto my paper, don't press too hard otherwise you will smudge your paper so you are done with your versamark and you are stamping. for now I'm going to take my embossing powder and pour it over my flowers.
I'm going to shake it a little so it can cover everything. I'll pour it back here. and then wherever I missed, I'm going to do it again and then I'm going to pour it back in here, look beautiful, and I'm going to flip my newspaper over, I'm literally going to get rid of all the excess, I just put it on the back. of the paper and what I'm going to do is heat emboss these amazing flowers. You see that detail in those flowers, so to heat emboss, you'll start by going in circles about four or five inches apart. your piece of paper, so I'll continue with your girls, you'll see it's starting to heat up.
The relief looks how incredible it is. See, so it's going to go from looking pale to bright white. So I'll turn this around. and do it on the back so that if the paper, so that people wouldn't walk, actually turn it over and run it again. I'm going to change where I'm holding it because wherever I was throwing it, I would. I don't heat etch properly because I don't want to burn my hands. If you don't take them, you can always use a tweezer, take the paper and heat etch using the tweezer, but I really want you to see what I am.
As I do that, I'm going to hold it and I'm used to holding my um my people properly anyway, so this is heat stamping very well. You see it turn bright white. Remember what you were looking at before it was white and shiny. Just make sure everything. of your embossing powder melts into the paper, so I think we're done. It looks incredible. I'm going to turn on my heat gun and die. I will cut these flowers to have these two dies that you have. to match so you can see how the dye fits perfectly on the flower. now this is the dye for this flower. to paste this.
I'm actually going to use some washi tape and then run it through my big machine. and this should have been cut out, let me see perfect, so that's a flower and I'm going to go ahead and die cut the rest of these flowers, so let's make this card that we have. I'm going to put the card here as usual. you can see what we're doing and we're going to go ahead and put this card in um, we're going to take this and our I already pre-recorded it, you're going to write down that one and a quarter and five and a half, it's just four lines.
I'm going to fold this first and finish, then I'm going to fold this to make sure it reaches, hold it down and polish well so we have our card here. The first thing I'm going to do is What I have to do is install this embossed piece like this and then I'm going to take my floral. I'm going to use this one, this one and this one. I'm going to put some glue on it. in the middle of them like this and I'm going to add some beads in the middle and now I'm going to install these three.
Now our flowers are obviously glued on this side of the card like this, so I'm going to install them about a quarter apart. inches apart, so I'm going to leave my measurement here and drop a little bit of glue. Remember with vellum you don't want to put glue here because you might see it, so I'm just going to put a drop. of glue on these things here and like I said, I want a quarter inch down, so imagine a quarter inch and then I stick it here. I want to make sure it doesn't go into this right, if you want, you can take a piece of paper and slide it here so you don't have to mess up the other one.
You want to grab this here like this, so I'm going to put it on top here and I'm going to put the dart glue back on now. We're going to do this card, so we're going to finish this card, we're going to move these things around and I'm going to write this down on the half, four and one quarter finish. You will take this piece and glue it like this the first time. We're going to install the square, so we're going to install a square, so to install this square, I'm going to take my T-shaped ruler and mark this.
I want it, let me leave my period up here and let me see. where I want it so I wanted about a quarter of an inch, three quarters of an inch up and a quarter of an inch wide so three quarters of an inch up maybe right here so I'm just going to leave it there and then a quarter of an inch wide, actually, wow, yeah, this. it's perfectly a quarter, so I'm going to bring my t-square ruler and bring it down and I want this to be perfect in these two corners, so I'm going to leave my t-square ruler here.
I'm going to Lift this up and I realize I want it at 1 and 1 8. Leave my T-square right there, put a little bit of glue on it, then I'm going to take this and basically slide it back in there, just lifting it up a little bit so I can get it in and not dragging it with the glue on the card floor, I should say and right, and my square ruler will help me make sure that it's installed perfectly and that's exactly where I want it, that it looks good and now we're going to actually build it the card, so the first thing you want to place is this floral piece here, this leaf feature.
I'm going to put some glue on the stem and put some glue on some of the leaves that I'm going to install. this from the bottom here on the right the next thing we're going to put is our flower and our flower is going to be right in the center of this square so it looks good here I'm just looking at it and I'm going to put it here stick it down we're going to have our butterfly I'm going to put this here to make it 3d and just fold it up now the butterfly is 3d I'm going to put some glue here and I'm going to put the butterfly right on top here, place this gem on my butterfly it looks really beautiful.
Now I'm going to round my sentiment up on the edges so that my sentiment is ready and then I'm going to put my sentiment here. I'm going to put a little bit of glue on this pencil, it's going to stick flat on the card, so okay, this is the card we're going to make now and I'm going to precut some of them, so I'm just going to show them. You know how I pre-cut it and I'm going to cut the last one so you can see how to cut it right. To cut this, I'm using a stitched rectangular die.
I'm going to square this on this card, like this. I'm going to measure it at 7 8 inches this way and 7 8 inches this way, about an inch so you see on each of these sides there's an inch from the end of the paper carriage to the inside. From the die cut, I like how it looks from top to bottom, so I'm not even going to touch it. I'm going to take some washi tape as usual and stick this on, so let's remove it here and we have a perfect rectangle cut out there that looks very, very pretty, it's the same on each side, so let's start making this card , we're going to build this face and then we're going to place it on whatever base for this base, I'm just going to Fold this because this paper is quite a bit lighter than the other paper that I was using that I had to mark with first, so I pull the paper in half and I have the base of my card here.
Now I'm going to build this section here. This section is here, so for these I took a piece of paper like where I took this one and then I took a die and cut it out. I would add all the rectangle sizes and paper sizes in the description box for you. Okay, so let's start building this card. The first thing we're going to do is turn it over and put something on it. Paste the aperture parameter here, what's wrong with the aperture and then we'll take this and square it here and then we'll turn it around and make sure it's perfect. , right, that's great.
I'm going to do the same thing with that, except I'll show you another way to do it. This time we're going to put the paper and glue on this one. I'm just showing you different ways toyou can put on the back of the other one, you can put it on the front of this one and take this and do this, you see what happened there with my glue, of course, I'm just going to wipe it off and it's not going to make a big difference because this glue it dries clear but I like to put it on the back because then you don't have that problem with the glue on so I did it on purpose so you could see what happens so of course now I'm I'm going to go back to the right way, which I considered the right way to do it, which is pretty hair on the back first and then perfect.
You see, all right, now I'm going to take this and I'm going to put a little bit of glue right on the end of the leaves, I think the leaves are very pretty, I don't necessarily like flowers for um with

sympathy

cards

, although she will use one vellum flower, it's white, it's a very

clean

flower, I'm sure it could be good, but I don't like 3d. very elegant flowers and flaws for sympathy cards I like to keep it very

simple

for sympathy cards because the person is grieving you don't want to give them anything too dramatic you know I'm so sorry that's perfect look now um I want this resurrected out of the card, so what I'm going to do is take my tape here and add tape to install this card.
If you liked me and you made something too close here, you could always just cut it off look, no, you can't see properly. I like to make mistakes on the screen and I'll tell you why because it shows you that everyone can make mistakes, even if you consider me a professional card maker. I make mistakes in everyone. The key moment is knowing how to fix your mistake so it doesn't look like a mistake at the end of the card, so let's install this. You've got the right way the card folds and I'm literally going to add the seat. face up because I know what part of the card I want to show and then I'm going to place it right now.
You can add a sentiment to this if you want something here to look beautiful. Look at that something down here or here. I'm not adding a sentiment because I think this card speaks for itself and I don't think you always need a sentiment, it's just my opinion and the card is so beautiful I don't think it needs one so this is all you need. I need this card and let's get started, so I'm not even going to write this down. I'm just going to fold this because this paper is nice, it's not as heavy as some of the other cardstock I use and we're recreating this card. remember this card so we use this die cut here to cut this here we're not going to waste this we're actually going to use this to build another card so if you look at it it's perfect it fits in there this one is perfect to see the hair and this is perfect for the hair, so it's really cool that you get two cards by using all those dies, so let's leave this like here and we'll use this amazing look on this paper.
This is amazing, right? so we're going to paste this right so we're going to paste this here it's nice and perfect square now we're going to build this so we're going to put this aside we're going to build this and we're going to start by adding this to this.
