David Gertz. Thank you. Foreign ER told me to be short and concise, so I will. The best thing I did with James Mulligan told me I had 10 to 15 minutes. Some of you know Dave Gertz can spin a thread, so I'll do my best if you had asked my teachers in 1992 if Dave could thank them. I'm sorry. I'm honored enough to be in front of you and you're an important day, but first of all, if you could make all the veterans bear it as much as they deserve, thank you, thank you. I would like to thank the administration, Mr.
Hall, thank you for inviting me tancy Mulligan, thank you for inviting me. I guess we have to ask ourselves what exactly is ahouse and settle down here and I want my boy to be a rebel and I really just wanted to hang out with Jason Applegate and meet up with Dylan Hall once in a while and catch a cold if I could, so that's my story, but what I want That you, young people, learn from this is the people. I volunteered to give it to you, so don't take it, you have to earn it, you have a chance, a chance at what we call God's gift, so don't waste it, and if you're on the fence, I wasn't drafted, I am.
On the list that wanted to do the job, there are people here who didn't, but they did it anyway because they called them when we were there and I'll close it here because I'm sure you guys are tired of my stories. I remember thinking there are no blacks, there are no whites, there are no Hispanics, there are no Asians, there are no Indians, everyone there carried the same flag and when you saw it they were known as brother and if you called someone your brother, you meant it. When I came home I thought that today we had problems with race wars and there is no race war because everyone bled the same color and everyone was willing to give theirs for someone else, so in a nutshell what we have today is Let them look at these people.
There are people who were willing to go above and beyond for you, so dare I say it again, if you don't mind, please give these people a round of applause because they deserve it. I'll complete it by saying daha, Dylan Hall, uh, it's been a couple of years since I've been here and I just want to say first of all, this was when Mr. Nelson called me. I always have this equipment. I want to have the opportunity to come here and make the song I'm about to make. You and the young people, what the Lord says is correct.
I was never in the service. My father was a Korean veteran. I lost my father five years ago. He had an entire Military Rights Department. You've never been to one of those for grandparents. Your parents. Just enough. It was quite an emotional moment, great show, as it is every year, so yeah, Lee Greenwood, well, God bless the USA, it's a song I never get tired of doing. I actually knew the version by the band Gaithers, so here we go, this is for all of you. Thank you foreigner. Thank my lucky stars that he lives here today, how is that flag that still represents freedom and I can't take it off?
At least I know that I am free and I will not forget those men who died and who gave me that right. proudly though kind to you and yet they have been wounded today another day come down to the sea hills across the plains of Texas everything from the sea to the shine and the sea from Detroit to my time and do it too early well there is pride in every American Heart and it's time for us to stand up and say I'm proud to be in America where at least I know that one, three, one, free walls, forgive those men who died and who gave that right next to you, you still They hurt today because there is no doubt that this land God bless the USA And I am proud to be the United States that was in At least I know that I am free and I will not forget those foreign men, thank you foreigners, okay, foreigners, foreign.
I would like to thank everyone who helped put this program together. I would also like to thank those who participated today. I would like to close with a few quotes Dan Lipinski, a former US Representative, stated on this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans and renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much to apologize to me. that we can live free Eleanor Roosevelt reminds us that freedom is an enormous requirement for every human being and that freedom comes with a responsibility that we have an enormous responsibility to uphold for our veterans.
Each of us is responsible for doing everything we can to ensure that Our Nation remains the greatest country in the world, while only one day of the year is dedicated solely to honoring our veterans. Americans must never forget the sacrifices that many of our fellow Americans, men and women, made and continue to make for our freedom. When you see a veteran or soldier in uniform, don't forget to thank them for their service and remember to keep your promise and do your part. Thank you all for coming today and celebrating with us and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Thank you foreigners.
