we will share 10

tips

and tricks that you can apply today. Hey guys Sean, here with Pink Media, we bring you the best

tips

and tools. for developing your influence with online videos and we are here in Las Vegas. I'm with some vloggers from Las Vegas that Kyle and McKenna got and today we're

shooting

some video clips and I want to share some tips so we can I'm actually using a Canon t7 I and this video was brought to you by Canon, very excited to partner with them for this project , but we'll share all these tips that you could really use with any DSLR to get better images. cool effects so let's dive into them right now so tip number one is we're going to start by choosing our frame rate and we're actually

shooting

with a t7 eye here so we can do 30 frames per second but I want to do 60. frames per second because that will allow us to do slow motion later, so whatever you want to do before you start filming, if you want that film look, you can film in 24 frames per second, some people like that, but again for us, slow motion, so let's go with 59.94 or 60 frames per second so we can do it slowly.

The second tip is to get the setup right now. If you're just getting started with DSLR video, you can shoot in automatic mode and get great results, but for us we. We're going to shoot in manual mode, we've clicked on the camera to go into video mode and we're going to configure our settings so that we get the smoothest video possible, we're going to check that out once you've set your camera to manual mode. What you want to do to get smooth images is double the frame rate with your shutter speed, so if you're shooting at 30 frames per second you'll want your shutter speed to be 60, but since we're shooting in slow motion 60 frames per second, we're actually going to want to bet that the shutter speed is going to be one hundred and twenty-five, which is the closest we can get to double, so our aperture we're going to be as white as possible since we're shooting in the shadow here and then for ISO will either set it as low as possible or it's also great to just put ISO on auto and then the camera can figure out the rest of the perfect exposure settings so that you not only get smooth motion but also provide direct lighting, okay, like this that we have our shutter speed calculated, we have our manual settings, tip number three is to just decide what your white balance is going to be now, a lot of times when we shoot with Canon cameras that we just use. auto white balance because it's usually very accurate and we'll do that for much of this session, but there's also a way to capture a custom white balance even with things in your environment, so let's set it up real quick just using a little bit of the white on this wall, so to set the custom white balance, I'm just going to go to photo mode.

I'll turn on live view so you can see it. I'm going to take a photo of the wall here and then when we go to the menu, we can set our custom white balance according to this image and then when we go back to our camera settings, here we can go to our balance settings custom white balance and now these colors are displayed according to the white balance on this exactly. the lighting here though, again if you're just starting out the auto white balance is great, in fact that's what we're going to shoot with. The next tip is to choose the autofocus mode.

I love dual pixel autofocus on Canon cameras because it's very good in video mode, you really always get very sharp focus, it's great for motion tracking and a lot of what we're using is face tracking so we can capture their faces, but now we will change it to a flexible zone mode. which will allow me to not only autofocus on objects that aren't faces, like inanimate objects, but I'll also use it to tap the screen and take a photo from McKenna's ring to McKenna's face and because I don't want it to be following Solo I will have full control of your face thanks to the Flex, so in automatic mode, the next tip is to use stabilization.

Now there are a couple of different ways to do this, number one, even if you just lock your elbows against your body when you're recording a video and add. with a couple of points of contact you can stabilize the shot a bit. The good thing is that there is image stabilization built into this lens which helps a little bit, but if you can add more stabilization even better, I also love using the strap because now Basically, you have four points of contact, you have both arms and these two straps on each side which can really eliminate shaking when you do some movements and then of course using a tripod or even a simple monopod can really help you get a stable ER shot, but I still introduce some movement so now I'm shooting over Kyle's shoulder and catching McKenna, but you can see I'm using handheld pretty fluidly because maybe I have decently stable arms, but a monopod or some other stabilization could really help me here, so let's look at the difference because this is just handheld okay and now I'm on the monopod and I also have the strap on my neck so I'm combining some of these stabilization methods and I'm talking here which might add a little bit of vibration because it's on my neck, but you can see how much vibration has been eliminated by using a little stabilization, that's definitely the goal.
You know, one of the reasons I love the monopod is because if you're like photographing a wedding or you add an event and you want to get some movement. You need some haste, maybe running in front of the partner or running in front of the subject. You can do it, put your leg on the ground real quick and then. Find out who set it up. The next tip is to use the rule of thirds. The good thing is that you can enter the camera here in the menu. It activates the 3x3 grid display and basically cuts the screen into three parts.
We're going to pull up an audio clip right now of McKenna and she might be centered and that might look pretty good, but the rule of thirds puts her to the side and the goal is to get the grid of black bars to go basically right between her . Eyes out for a nice dynamic shot juxtaposed against this wall here, so the next tip is to use an external microphone for better audio every time you shoot video with your DSLR. Well, first of all, let's listen to how it sounds, what is the microphone on the camera. Now you're listening to the camera microphone, so I had been talking to a recruiter and thought I should learn how to do some things for myself.
I was going to join the military, so I looked up how to march and actually found Kyle's video. So that was the camera microphone, but now we have one of the video microphones mounted that comes with the t7 that I think or kit and let's see what difference it makes for the audio and now you're hearing the audio from an external microphone. So, believe it or not, Kyle and I met through YouTube and got married nine days after we first met. For the next tip, let's get that blurred background that everyone wants right now with their kit lens on their camera, it can be a little challenging because the aperture is not very fast, but the way you want to do it is to zoom in as much as possible on your lens and then lower the aperture as much as possible on your lens, in this case with full zoom We are at 55, the aperture is 5.6 now, that has some pretty good results, however, I recommend that if you really want to get that blurry background, choose the Canon nifty 50, an affordable and very good budget lens that has an aperture of 1.8.
Check out some of the images of this lens in 1.8 to get that nice creamy blurred background, so I hope those tips were valuable and in fact if you want to check out Kyle and McKenna's vlog channel we'll make it up to you in the description. below and also if you want to see any of the equipment we used in this video, we'll put a list in the YouTube description question of the day.
