From small town life to stardom: Luke Bryan on overcoming tragedy and his success

Nine years ago we started in Claxton, Georgia, it was our first farm. and his wife caroline at their home in nashville married for almost 11 years they are raising their two children along with their nephew and two nieces whom they took in after

's sister, kelly, passed away in 2007 and then her husband passed away in 2014. and now we have three children who have lost their parents, so now our new focus becomes trying to navigate them and guide them through this

life

, just guide me through of that journey of taking children and raising them, and we never thought twice about it, we just did it.

in albany georgia all sports all outdoor activities we were a fun family we were a close family it was just a big, loud, crazy, fun family he would grow up to be two-time cma artist of the year an honor he's been nominated for again this year it's still a pinching moment i know you've won it twice but he's still adored every time by country music fans around the world luke has seen its share of ups and downs just before I moved to Nashville, my brother died in a car accident, which completely derailed and postponed my Nashville plans.

My father noticed that I had one foot in the door and one foot out the door. He was really very inflexible. I was only pursuing my dreams because of what my brother and I had faced, we had seen how fragile

life

was, so arriving in Nashville was quite liberating. I was on Music Row every day writing songs, people in Capital kept listening to them and the next thing you know I'm getting a record deal with Capitol Records. It was April 6, 2007 and I got to play the Grand Ole Opry for the first time that night. I didn't know that my sister and I would be our last photo together.

She passed away a month ago, how have you been able to be so resilient and deal so well with such a big loss? You move on and try to overcome as much positive as you can and try to appreciate Luke's new

every day, what makes you country, yet another tribute to country music fans everywhere, we want people to be celebrated for all forms of what they are, but in country we want to celebrate you for being country, so what makes you country, I would say what makes me country is just the way I was. I grew up in a

with parents who when I wasn't acting right they would catch me again and it was just that everyone knew everyone and it was a magical life in a

The last decade has been a whirlwind for Luke and his family from that first hit all my friends say what all my friends say ten years ago the first song what about the next ten? You know, my wife and I talked about how we were, we were rocking on the porch and we thought, It's no wonder what can happen in 10 years of your life, the good things, the bad things, the changes. I have dedicated these 10 years to music and I think that in the next 10 years you will see that but you will also notice it.
