from a turbocharged engine and this is for a reason because we have to think of any engine in our car as a glorified air pump, the air enters the engine, it is compressed, it is ignited and then ignition and compression make you have power and then air.

It is expelled from the engine through the exhaust so depending on how well we can get air into the engine, compress it and then get air out of the engine will determine how much horsepower we have and an engineering term that is used is called volumetric efficiency, so the higher the volumetric efficiency of your engine, the more horsepower you will have and you will usually have better fuel efficiency as well, so the first thing I will recommend if you are trying to modify your car and It's probably the easiest thing that you've probably already heard of and it's called a cold air intake and what it does is it replaces the stock air box, which is the tube that goes from the air coming into the engine. it goes through the pipe and then eventually into your engine with something that will run a little more efficiently than the stock components, so if you get a good cold air intake system it will increase the volumetric efficiency of your engine and then Increase the power, but my advice to you is not to spend too much on the cold air intake.

If you really want to get it right, opt for a cold air intake that is covered and has a very visible flow path from where the air enters the engine. The bay goes through the air filter and then into the engine and if you don't have that really good, well designed cover, your air intake will go from being a cold air intake to a warmer air intake and it will probably go away. be detrimental to your horsepower than it will be to improve it, the number two thing on my list is to get an exhaust system, so with a freer flowing exhaust you will have plenty of air coming out of the engine. more efficiently and then increase its volumetric efficiency and with a stock exhaust to reduce the amount of sound that is generated, the exhaust has to go through many restrictions and that restriction reduces its power, so if you decide to go for an exhaust no original, it will. you will notice an increase in noise but you will also notice an increase in horsepower and if you choose a reputable company they will specify how much horsepower you will expect to see from your modification and that is something you really need to keep in mind with any type . modification because you want to have a company that will back up their claims and give you the results that you want to see at the end of the day, modification number three is going to be the catalytic converter system modification and let's just take a step back and we can talk about this before make recommendations that may be illegal and you can modify your exhaust system and catalytic converters and replace them with a freer-flowing catalytic converter while maintaining the same emissions control systems as your The car came from the factory and you would have to consult the local laws and regulations to determine if the modification is legal, but swapping out your stock converter for something that is a freer-flowing catalytic converter will definitely set you up big. horsepower at the end of the day and there are companies that make them that are very good systems so my number four recommendation to increase horsepower is going to be a remapping of the ECU and what the ECU is is the control unit. of the engine and basically what it does is it takes all the sensors that your car has, whether it be the map sensor, the MAF sensors or the O2 sensors, and then it controls and runs your engine by controlling the amount of fuel that goes in to your motor and also controls your coil. packages and subsequently your spark plugs, so what our ECU remapping does is it takes all of those tuning parameters, it takes all the inputs from the sensors and then modifies the original tuning that came straight from the factory and there are many companies that do this.
