We will need two stemless wine glasses from the Dollar Tree. Now we're going to take these wine glasses, clean them, and then give them a couple coats of this Krylon Satin White Spray Paint. Now, once those dry, here are your stimulus cups and what? What we're going to do is simply add that same coordinating ribbon around the glass. Now once you cut a piece that wraps around it with a little bit of overlap, what we're going to do is burn one of the edges of the ribbon we want to

make

sure it doesn't fray so go ahead and burn one edge to

make

sure it's nice and secure and then we just want to wrap the ribbon tightly around your stemless wine glass or vase and then we're going to hot glue it into place once it's nice and centered in the middle of your little container and here's one all covered and nice and clean and then just repeat this for the second little vase and here they are both nice and covered ready to go. so I wanted to add that distressing finish to the top of these jars.

I love this technique. I think it gives it a little more character, so I'm going to add it to the top of these little jars and I'm going to do after the first one, just do the second one and let them dry completely and this is what they'll look like. I love how they look, so now that they are ready, all you have to do is

decor

ate. I have some. jute twine with eight little beads tied on each end that I'm going to

decor

ate with, you can make these and then I'll add some 97 cent boxwood from Walmart and put this all together and here you are, this is a super simple but elegant arrangement that anyone can do.

Now you can add your own choice of greenery to give it your own style or even just use the cups for makeup brushes or other decorations. Now this project is a two tier barrel planter. We're going to need two of these half barrel planters from Dollar Tree and we're also going to need a plunger from Dollar Tree and we're going to need a couple of pieces of these wooden planks and these are from Dollar Tree or you can use some small pieces of wood so first thing What we're going to do is work on our plunger, so go ahead and remove that rubber part and we're going to cut this down to the right size to be our support. our pot, so I'm going to go ahead and take my ruler and I chose about an 11 inch measurement that I wanted for my center support, so I'm marking it by cutting off that round end and then cutting off 11 inches.

We've marked them here and we also want to remove that sticker in the middle, so we're going to sit on the side and we're also going to grab our wooden planks and what am I going to do with these wooden planks. Now I'm going to measure them and divide them in half. I think the half point of these is about seven inches, maybe a little less than that, but I'm going to divide them in half for now because I want to finish. I'll have four squares at the end, now the corners will need to be trimmed, so what I'm doing is taking the bottom of our Barrel piece and I want the square to fit inside that Indented Circle, so what I'm doing is I'm putting that square on top of that circle and I take my pencil and make a mark where I want to cut those corners so that it fits inside that circle and the bottom is flush, so this is what it looks like.
I'll call it my stop sign cut for now, but this is what the four pieces of your squares would look like when you cut them out, so after taking them to my saw I cut my 11 inch piece of the toilet plunger handle. and these are just the two extras left over and here's my little stop sign piece. Once I cut those squares out, I taped them together and then I trimmed those corners as well and this is what they look like, so now I'm going to take it all out and give it a couple coats of flat black spray paint.
Now here are all my pieces, all nice, spray painted and dried, and ready to start assembling our overseas project, so let's grab our half barrels. at first and then we're going to remove all the stickers on the bottom and what we want to do is start by drilling a hole in the center of the bottom of our plant barrels. Now before we do that, we're just going to go ahead and glue on our little stop sign squares because we're also going to drill a hole in the center of these and we want to make sure that that hole is the same on each piece and tape them down. it helps them stay in place so Now what I'm going to do is start by drilling a hole in the bottom of the barrel.
Now I'm going to use my 7 64 drive bit and I want to drill right in the center. Now hold it. Note that if you plan on placing real plants in this, this will be a good time to drill some additional holes in the bottom for drainage for your real plants. Now you definitely want to drill a hole in both and this will help feed our rod. through both bottoms of our barrel pieces, so now what I'm doing is taking that stack of my little stop sign wood pieces, keeping them right in the center, flipping them over where the barrel sits on top and that way that hole will be left. centered and drill back through the bottom of the barrel through the hole we just drew and dumped that stack of wood pieces in and now you'll notice the hole is right in the center.
You may want to stop by again a couple of times just to make sure. It goes through the entire stack, but will now be centered right in the middle of the hole at the bottom of the barrel. Now we're going to take our support rod and we definitely want to drill a pilot hole through this as well because I don't want it to split when we attach it to our support so I'm taking my Sharpie and putting a dot in the center of each side to knowing where to start drilling my pilot hole and then I'm going to take that same drill bit and I'm going to drill directly into the center of that rod until I get to at least three inches to secure my bracket to my barrels.
I'm definitely going to use a long screw, so I'm using some three inch number eight wood screws for this project, so now we're going to start putting everything together, so what I'm going to do is first grab two of those pieces. of stop signs, now the purpose of these is to provide additional support and first I'm going to put them on the barrel with some E6000, so I'm going to put some E6000 on the bottom of the barrel, around where the screw hole doesn't It covers it, but it puts it there. and then I follow up with a little hot wood glue right on top for that instant grip.
Now, once you add some of that hot glue in there, you're going to grab one of your little pieces of stop sign wood. I'm going to stick a little skewer through it so I can line up the holes in the bottom of the barrel with the hole in my stop sign piece and then once they're lined up, press it down and secure it and then you can remove it. your skewer because your holes are nice and lined up now here's everything in place you want to flip it over and you're going to do the exact same thing on the inside adding some strong adhesive and glue and once you add that there we're just going to add that right on the inside using the skewer method the same way, now adding these pieces of wood at the top and bottom sandwiches the barrel piece in the middle and gives it a significant amount of stability. way it is not supported by the plastic of the barrel, it is also supported by wood on both sides.
Now we are going to repeat this process for your other barrel and now you have wood inside and out to hold our barrel stand, so now we are going to select the piece that we want for the bottom of our pot stand, so what what we're going to do is turn it over and we're going to start inserting our screw through the bottom of our barrel and whatever you want. What you have to do is start screwing it in until it sticks out about a half inch on the other side. Now, once it sticks out about a half inch, this is where you're going to grab the support rod and what you're going to do.
Are you going to line up the end of that screw with your pilot hole and you just want to start turning it on that screw into place to get it working and then once you can hold it by that rod, just go? go ahead and screw that three inch screw through the barrel into that rod and now you can see that screw is nice and flush and the rod is nice and secured in the center of your barrel so now we're going to work on the side top of the barrel and as you can see all you have to do is attach it to the top of the rod so what I'm going to do is take that top barrel that we're going to put on top and this time we're going to add the screw from the inside of the Canyon.
Now we want to screw it in until about a half inch is sticking out the other side and then once you get that part out, you're going to align it. That screw with a pilot hole in the top of your rod, you're just going to put it in there and then turn it until it works and it's nice and secure, and then you can take your drill and drill. the rest of the screw until it's nice and flush on the inside and here's the two piece half barrel holder everything is really super secure thanks to those wooden planks and now all you have to do is decorate and here you are .
Guys, this is a super easy but amazing piece to decorate. I placed some fake eucalyptus bundles from Walmart inside and I love how pretty it made it look. Now these would be amazing with flowers or even real plants too, just remember to do it. Drain those holes in the bottom of your barrels now. I bet they would also look amazing with some long Vine Greenery and here's a version with some Ikea Greenery too for a different look. I mean there are so many options, this project is wood and a decorative mesh basket we are going to need some tower blocks from Dollar Tree.
I want some craft sticks from Lowe's for 98 cents. Now we're also going to need a metal trash basket from Dollar Tree or you can use this plastic gutter. protective mesh from Lowe's now we're going to get started on our falling tower blocks, go ahead grab your Carpenter's square and the first set of blocks we're going to put together are three pieces now I'm going to use some hot wood glue for my project, but I definitely recommend wood glue to make it super sturdy, so I'm using my hot wood glue to put it together real quick for you guys and I'm just going to put the three blocks together making sure you clean up any glue that's oozing out of the seam now once you have the three pieces, we're going to repeat this to make a total of eight sets and here they are all ready to go, so we're going to use the next set of blocks.
To join are rows of five, now we are going to join them in the same way we did for our sets of three blocks. Now this is what it looks like and we're going to repeat this until we have a total of four. Now the last one. The small blocks that we are going to join are sets of two. Now here's a set of two pieces joined together and we're going to repeat this until we have a total of four foreign pieces, so now it's time to put together our basket, so I'm taking. two of the three-piece sets for the sides and two of the two-piece sets and sandwiching them between the three-piece sets, so I'm going to start adding my adhesive to the end pieces of those two sets of blocks, making sure that those two The set of blocks always stays sandwiched between the two sets of three blocks and then we'll close that top end by adding our final two block set in there and then when you add it in there, you'll definitely want to squeeze, squeeze, squeeze and do.
Make sure everything is nice and tight until we form this little square here and now we're just going to repeat it until we have two of these squares, so the second piece we're going to make are the sides of our little basket. So again the three sets of blocks will be the sides and we are going to place Nestlé between two of the five sets of blocks. Now we're going to put this together exactly the same way we did for the smaller sets and this is what one looks like. repeat this until you have a total of two, now you want to wait until they are completely ready and dry and then we are going to go ahead andpaint them now.
I'm going to use my white chalk paint to paint these pieces now. I'm going to add a couple of layers to the front of the basket, so I'll start by adding one of the layers to the front and making sure I get the inside and outside edges of the piece. Now here's one. painted and you want to repeat this until they are all nice and painted and once they are all painted let it dry completely now once the top is dry to the touch go ahead and turn them over and this will be the inside of your basket. piece and then I'm just going to add a coat of chalk paint on these pieces on this side and then once it's painted, I'm going to let it dry completely.
Now all of our pieces are finally dry and we can continue adding our mesh inserts, so as I mentioned at the beginning, you can use the metal trash cans from Dollar Tree. You can cut them with wire cutters or a sharp pair of scissors to cut out the shapes and fill in the wire mesh, but I found it much easier to work with the gutter guard mesh that you can get at your local

home

improvement store and costs only about four or five

dollar

s and you get 20 feet of it, so it lasts a long time for many projects.
So what I'm going to do is take one of the side pieces of my basket. I'm going to put that gutter guard mesh right on top. Now how you want this to fit is you want the mesh to go halfway up the block. one side of the block is exposed, so what I'm doing is taking my little chalk marker and outlining my cut line so it fits perfectly on the piece. Now, once that's done, I'm just going to go in with a pair of scissors and cut out the shape. This is actually very easy to cut with foreign scissors and then I'm going to double check the fit and this is perfect.
This is exactly how we want them to fit now since we have two of the side panels. I'm going to use this piece as a template and I'm going to cut another piece the exact same size and I'm just going to trace the outline with my marker again and then I'm going to cut that out as well. , so now I have my two side panel mesh pieces. I'm going to repeat this same process for my end pieces making sure they fit the same way, so now that all of our pieces are cut we can start applying the mesh to the inside of our basket. now I'm just going to take my hot wood glue and I'm going to run a bead on one side of the inside of the basket and I'm going to place the end of my mesh piece right on top of that glue now to help. stays in place you could definitely use some Dollar Tree clips this really helps during application now once it dries a little we'll add a bead of glue to the top and bottom inside edge and then attach the rest of the mesh. on that glue and let it dry and then finally we can add the glue at the end to seal the end now after all of this dries I'm going to go ahead with my staple gun and I'm just going to add just a few staples to your around now.
I didn't want to add too many staples at first because they are blocks that are attached to each other and I didn't want to compromise the structure, but once it's dry it looks great and now we just repeat it for the rest in the same way and now we can start attaching our box and build it, so I'm taking one of the short ends and adding it to the inside edge of one of the long ends, just add a bead. of your glue of choice and then place the end piece right on the edge making sure the top and bottom are lined up now, once you're ready add another drop of glue to the inside edge, this just adds a little More reinforcement since I'm going together. painted surfaces and I didn't want them to come apart so I'm going to repeat this on the other side the same way adding that line of glue pressing the side into place and then once it's cured add the glue strip. that seam for that piece and now we can finally add the top piece so after that's done it'll be nice and dry and oops I forgot to paint on the side but we'll touch it up so now our box is nice and solid so that we are.
I'm going to turn it right side down and we're going to work on the bottom of our box to cover it. I'm going to use these craft sticks. I love using these craft sticks from Lowe's, they're 98 cents right now so grab them while you can and now I'm going to place them in the bottom opening to adhere them. I'm just going to add a little bit of wood glue or hot wood glue along that bottom edge and just leave enough glue there to adhere one stick at a time. If you make a long line and start adding bars your glue will dry too quickly and you won't have secure connections, but you just want to add all of these bars until your opening is completely covered as shown here, so now I'll just lay down my mat of cutting and I'll take my utility blade and I'll run it along the edge of those sticks a couple of times and they'll come right out, giving you a nice clean edge on the bottom edge of your basket, we're going to repeat this for the other side and now everyone the edges are nice and trimmed and now we're going to go ahead and paint the bottom of the basket along with That edge we forgot to paint before and I'm going to use my chalk paint now.
When painting the interior, you should definitely be careful not to get paint on the mesh. You just want to make sure you go around the edges first. and then it covers the entire bottom of the basket and then once that's done you turn it over and you paint the bottom and here it is all nice and painted and you let it sit to dry completely and now the basket has sat for a a while. It's nice and dry and I love it, it looks wonderful and I can't wait to decorate it and how amazing this pretty basket is.
I love how it turned out. I added some Greenery packs from Ikea but you can use this for bathroom organization or even in the kitchen now the mesh panel accent is really nice and if you don't want black it can easily be painted any color you want to match your taste and style, everyone should let me know where you would wear this. cute basket in your

home

decor now this project is a two tier square tray we are going to need an eight inch box frame art piece from the Dollar Tree we are also going to need 1 6 inch box frame art piece From the Dollar Tree I now have one for the fall, but they have them all year round in different designs and Halloween is now available.
We are also going to need a 1 by 2 piece. This is the leftover piece and I have cut about seven of it. at eight inches tall for my tray okay we're going to start with those box art pieces and what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and remove the outer wrapping if there is any and we want to remove that hanger piece if I have a hanging block inside there and I just used my utility knife to get it out very easily for the other piece. If you have that metal hook there, you can take it out using a screwdriver and remove the tags. one too now, if your piece has any kind of embellishment like ribbons or glitter, we're going to remove it for the artwork on the big box, that was fine, but we're going to sand the glitter off the little one and here it is. sanded and ready to go, so the next thing we need to do is define the center of both pieces.
Now traditionally you can take your ruler and measure both sides and find the center that way, but what I love to use is my little trick here. where I take a piece of craft paper and I'm going to place it in the box and then I'm just going to press an indentation of the shape into that craft paper all around now once you have that indentation you realize. you have this perfect little square and all you have to do now is cut it out with a pair of foreign scissors, now here is that piece, very nice and cut out, you just want to make sure it's the right shape and if so, take a look at it glance. go ahead and fold it in half making sure all the ends are lined up and then fold it in half again so you have it in quarters now once you have that little dot in the center there you're going to take your scissors and what you're going to do What's there What to do is simply cut that small point in the center.
Now when you open it again, there will be a hole that will represent the exact center, so place it on top of your box art and now you will know where the center of that box art is. and then you could just mark this with a pencil, so once you do this for your large piece, we're just going to repeat it for your smaller piece with the same steps every way, just marking the shape and then folding into quarters and then marking the center so that now our two pieces have their centers clearly marked. Now what we're going to do is drill those holes, so I'm taking a drill bit, this is a 5 64 inch drill bit and I'm We're just going to drill a hole in the center where we've marked our outside holes.
We are also going to drill a hole in each side of our piece of wood and use the same drill bit on each side, so now we need to join. our pieces together and I'm going to use screws so I decided to use a two inch number eight wood screw for this project so I'm just going to install my screwdriver bit and then I like to hand thread my drill bit into the first part. bottom or screw the bottom first and then start screwing the wood board now, once it's threaded a bit I'll do the rest with the drill, just securing it nice and flush in place now when you flip it over on its post. it's nice and secure in the center and now all we have to do is add our top piece back.
This time we'll add our screw through the bottom of the little piece of wood and then place it on top of our post there and then drill. that down and making sure it's drilled all the way down and secured where the top doesn't twist or move or anything now once it's secured all the way down this piece is nice and solid so now what we're going to do do is I'm going to embellish our pieces a little now I'm going to use these half beads that I bought on Amazon. They are very comfortable to use and I love them.
I have cut wooden beads myself in the past, it is very easy. I'll link the demo in the top right corner of this video and also in the description box in case you're interested. What I did was put some beads along the sides spacing them evenly and now I chose seven beads. I'm going to attach them with my hot wood glue and just make sure they're even and equally spaced along the side of that tray. Now once all seven are in place, this is what they look like and you want to repeat this across the bottom tray until you have seven beads on each side and now we're going to make the top tray.
Now for this one we're just going to use five of those half beads now once we secure them. Here you see everything around the tray, all nice and evenly spaced, so now what we're going to do is paint it, so I love using my sensor primer one, two, three, this covers the entire artwork really well . I'm going to give it two nice coats of zinser and then follow up with my final coat with some Krylon Matte White Spray Paint Now of course if you don't want to use spray paint for your project, you can always use chalk paint or acrylic paint in any color you choose.
Here is my piece after it has been painted and completely dry and ready to use. Now all you have to do is decorate this beautiful piece and here you all are. adorned with a fall decor, now I added some candles and Festival Greenery for this version and I love this warm and cozy combination of all the colors now of course this is a year round decor piece so what also I decided to do was to give it a farmhouse look too. Now, by adding these sweet little DIY houses, some beads, and accessories, these are the perfect little farmhouse display for your home.
This is so cute and adorable but you can also decorate it for the holidays and I just did. which by adding some ornaments and decor that I just bought from the Dollar Tree, I now love using their ornaments as tray decorations and I just had to get some from SSC because she is so crafty. Now you definitely have to let me know what you think about this project in the comments below. Now this project is a decorative wall piece with a flower pot. We will need three packages of five-gallon paint stir sticks for 98 cents from Lowe's.
We'll need some quart craft sticks, also 98 cents. At Lowe's we will need a two-pack of these popcorn containers from the Dollar Tree and some optional twine hearts from the Dollar Tree. Now we're going to start working on our popcorn container, so go ahead and take them out of their packaging now, I plan. cutting these containers in half, so go ahead and grab a cutting mat and I'll grab my ruler so I know my cuts are going to be nice and straight. Now I'm going to measure the middle and it generally lines up with that center line on the popcorn design, so justI'm going to draw a line right under that mark on both of my containers now, once that line is drawn I'm just going to grab my knife, you can get this at Dollar Tree. or at any hardware store and I'm going to follow that line carefully and slowly.
You can also use a hot knife or an X-Acto knife if you have one, so here's a side cut and I'm just going to repeat. this on the other side now for the bottom I'm going to draw my line again with my marker and I'm just going to carefully cut along the bottom now here it's all cut out and now I have two halves and what I'm What I'm going to do with these is this on one side and cut the other one as well and now I have four pieces so we're going to go ahead and I'm going to clean them with isopropyl alcohol making sure to remove that marker that you put it in there and then you take it out and give it a couple of coats of this Krylon Satin White Spray Paint or you can use acrylic or chalk paint if you want.
Now, while they are dry, we will start working on our paint mixture. sticks so go ahead and unpack them and you should have a total of nine and grab about eight of those quart craft sticks and we're going to dye today with my favorite Jacobian dye from Minwax. Now I'm going to start with those. five gallon paint stirring rods and we want to apply a layer of stain on the side without the measurements you want to make sure you get the bottom and the top and the sides now there is no need to stain the back, that is completely optional, but I'm not dyeing the back of my project today, so here it is and we're going to go ahead and dye them all the same, now that they're done.
Let's work on those cork sticks. Now I'm going to dye both sides of this. It's completely optional, but this gives me the option to choose which side I like

best

on my project, so here's what it looks like, stain and that's it. Go ahead and stain the rest of them and now that everything is nice and stained just let them dry for an hour or two okay so now that our sticks are nice and dry we can start putting together our hanging board so I'm going to Place my paint sticks so that the handles are opposite each other in each row, we'll just rotate them to make sure they're nice and even, and this is what all the sticks will look like.
Go ahead and place them. Turn them upside down because we're going to work on the back to put them together and you can use your carpenter's square and they also have them at Dollar Tree to help make sure everything lines up so I had three one gallon loose paint stores. There are sticks to attach them to, but you can use any type of wood pieces of your choice to attach them to the back and I'm just going to add a little bit of hot wood stick glue along the back and then attach all the sticks together. parts. together you just want to make sure that they're all tied together and held firmly together now to reinforce that connection.
I'm just going to take my staple gun and I'm going to put a staple on each of the sticks along the first second and third pieces as shown here and you can see all the staples are there and this shelf is really strong and secure and this is what it looks like on the front, okay, so we'll flip it to the back. and now we're going to add our hangers to hang this. I'm just using some jute twine from the Dollar Tree. This is the nautical rope in the floral section and now I will add two loops to the back of my wooden piece. once I cut them out I'm just going to roll them up and when I do them you just want to make sure that the loop doesn't go over the top edge of the hanging piece so I'm going to put in a couple of heat stitches. glue there and I'm putting the ends of the rope into that hot glue to secure them in place.
Now you want to make sure you put in two loops so that your shelf is nice and stable and not wobbly and then I'm I'm going to go in with my staple gun and put two staples at the end of each piece of that rope on each side just to make sure that Be super confident now to cover those ends. I cut some pieces of craft paper and I'm just going to hot glue this over the ends of the rope. I think it just finishes off the look and makes it look nice and clean, so I'm just going to add that to all the ends and hot glue them into place. and this is what it looks like now all of our containers are nice and dry and all that popcorn paint is covered so now what we're going to do is grab those craft sticks that we dyed and let's go I'm going to trim the top edge of our containers.
Now this comes with a scalloped edge, but I wanted to cover it up and give it a finished look. I think it looks much more professional with a wooden edge, so I'm just going to cut the wooden sticks and add them over the scallops where the scallops don't show in the front, so when I cut a piece off, I'll just add it to the front and then I'm going to place that piece upside down just to make sure that the front edge of that cut piece is nice and even with the front of the container and I'm going to do this on both sides.
Now you'll notice that I cut them longer because I'm going to trim it at the end and it's a good idea to do that to make sure that you now get the perfect fit for the front of the container. I'm going to place the front of the container on one of the boats. sticks Mark the outline of the front and then all you have to do is trim it with a pair of scissors for a perfect fit and simply place it on the front of the container, add hot glue in there and spit it into place making sure to cover those scalloped edges and now you have the perfect top edge.
Now just trim those two back wings on the side and now this is what the edge of your box will look like and you want to repeat this and here are all your containers. with all those embellishments on the top edge so I wanted to give my containers a little bit of a worn rustic look so I'm going to use my travel craft sticks where I just dip them in some acrylic paint and drag the edge of the craft stick along the edges of the box and I think this gives the perfect amount of distress, not too much not too little, and it's so easy, it works perfect and highlights all those little bits and pieces of your container and really makes it look which are metal now, don't forget the bottom two, the bottom edges would also wear a little bit and you'll want to let them dry, so now that they're dry, grab your piece of wood and we.
I'm going to take the four containers and I'm going to line them up along the bottom. You just want to make sure they're evenly spaced about an inch from the bottom and then I'll take a pencil and I'm lightly outlining each of the containers so I know where to apply my adhesive. Now I'm using my hot wood glue for this. I'm going to go ahead and outline the container shape that I traced and also add some hot glue. glue the inside of the container along the edge as well and then carefully place it on top of the glue placing it making sure to press it nice and gently so that it sticks and you want to do this for all of your containers and then Once this is done I'll continue by adding a drop of hot glue along the inside edge and this is just going to secure them all in place and I'm going to make sure that it's not going to be easy to separate them from the board and as I can, Look, I'm lifting it up the bin and they're not going anywhere, so now it's time to decorate, so I'm just picking out some eucalyptus fragments.
Now I bought this at Walmart, you can use any type of greenery you want. and I'm just putting some fragments of that eucalyptus inside all my containers, now this is what it looks like with that greenery in there. I think it's super cute. Now I have these twine hearts left over. These are a Valentine's find so I'm just going to add these to the containers but I wanted them to be removable so what I did was take some ribbon that I had on hand and I'm just going to roll it up and hot glue it on at the top of the tape. in place so Loop is safe.
Now I'm going to stick this tape inside the container for as long as I put those hearts on, but I'm using a strip of this that's actually white duct tape and I'm going to stick that inside, that duct tape will hold anything and it's removable as well. and it will hold the edge of that hanging heart on each of the containers, so I'm going to repeat this until all of those hearts are applied and there you have it, this is definitely an option that you can use for Valentine's Day or any type of farmhouse decor and now all you have to do is choose your favorite place to display it in your home.
Now, guys, I'm really excited about how this turned out. I think it is such a beautiful display piece with so many decoration options. One thing I really love is that the hearts are removable so you can replace them with anything you like. Now, of course, there is an option to enjoy. them without any additional hanging decoration if you wish and that is what is shown here. Foreign design. You can also use it for organization or even put letters or labels on the front as you like. Now everyone has to let me know what they do. Think about this project in the comments below.
Now this project is a hexagonal wooden lantern. We'll need two of these hex frame pieces from Dollar Tree and I'll need three of these 35-inch wooden stakes that I bought from Dollar General. and I got these 50 cents on clearance but you can get them at any store with a gardening section so I'm going to start with my steaks and I took the three steaks and cut six 15 inch pieces now you can. Make any height for your lantern, but I chose 15 inches, so once that's done, I'll take my hex pieces and the first thing I'll do is remove the beaded handle.
We won't need this for this project, but definitely. Save these items for future projects now, once you remove the handle, remove those staples from the back as well. Now I'm going to add my fillets. You can definitely use wood glue, but I prefer to use hot wood glue for a quick bond because I will continue with screws for this project to make it super sturdy, so I will add a generous amount of hot wood glue all the way and press it where it is. the corner of the steak on the corner of that hexagon and I'm going to repeat this around that shape adding that glue and pressing it and holding it for about five seconds until the glue comes together.
Now here are all my stakes, all attached on one side of that hexagon and now I'm just going to adhere the other end with the back of that shape on the other side matching up those corners, so here's the completed piece after sit for a few minutes after putting it together and you can see it's already very strong now I like to go ahead and secure my projects to make sure they don't fall apart on you so I'm going to use screws as a finishing touch. Now I'm going to use quarter inch wood screws and add. these on each of the wooden stakes and I have information about this box in my description box under my favorite tools, so what I'm going to do now is take my drill and I'm just going to drill a pilot hole in each of those wooden stakes through that hexagonal piece.
I'm going to do this on both sides of my flashlight, this will give you the

best

stability on your project, guys, if you can't avoid it, definitely don't skip it. In this step now I'm going to go ahead and just do a little quick house cleaning because you made a big mess and now I'm going to take my screws and I'm going to screw each one of them in. In that corner now you just want to screw them in until they stay flush without tightening them too much. This is what it looks like. We're going to repeat this on this side and then flip it over and do the other side as well.
Here are both sides with all those screws in place guys everything is good and safe now that you have those screws there you can throw it out and flip it over it's not going anywhere and it will last you a long time so now I'm. I'm just going to sit on the side and what I'm also going to use is one of these wooden finials. I love using these wood finials. I buy them at Lowe's, you can find them where they

sell

their wooden furniture legs. I'm also going to use one of these little plastic Ramekin cups that I bought at Dollar Tree in a three-pack as a base.
Now I originally wanted the little hexagonal boxes and couldn't find them, so this will have to do, so what are we going to do? What I do is I take the screw off the bottom of that little finial and I'm going to adhere it to the top of that Ramekin piece right in the center and you just want to press it and hold it until it's nice and adhered, now that's what it's going to be like. added to the top of our Lantern we're going to keep ours separate but we'll have this piece to decorate with all season long so now what I'm going to do is take it out and give it a couple of coats of this flat black.
Krylon spray paint and you can definitely use acrylic paint too, so after a couple coats, this is what your flashlight looks like. If you missed some points, you can definitely go out and touch it up, but this is what thebasic cover. on your entire Lantern piece and here is our final little piece all pretty and painted now to decorate it, it's very simple. I have one of these crowns that Clarence gave me a couple of years ago. They are Dollar Tree candle holders and battery operated LED candles. fun to use, you can also use any type of Christmas

tree

s with greenery, whatever you want, this is the fun part and here you are.
I placed my finial right on top and added the candles and greenery inside. I love this now, I love the This flashlight is a large size and you can put taller things inside which is a plus. Now I wanted my finial to be removable, but you can definitely glue it on and this is a piece that you could definitely use year-round in your decor. It's the full view of that lantern, how beautiful this new hexagonal shape is. Now there's a reason for the removable finial. You can add more decorations on top. Look at these

tree

s. I added just as an extra touch.
That is why the finial is completely removable. I hope you too will recreate this project to display throughout the year. This project is a frosted Globe Lantern. We'll need one of these stemless wine glasses from the Dollar Tree. I'm going to need one of these battery powered LED lights from the Dollar Tree in any color we're going to need one of these little glass bowls and these come in a four pack from the Dollar Tree. Okay, we're going to take that little glass bowl and we're also going to take our little LED light. Go ahead and screw in the bulb and then gently push out the interior lighting component and all the LED lights and set them aside for now, we're going to remove the label and I'm also going to remove that little hanger piece.
Turn on our small LED light. Now for these two pieces, we're going to clean them up and then we're going to take them out and give them a couple coats of this satin black spray paint. Now for the stemless wine glass, I'm going to remove it. and give it three or four coats of this Rust-Oleum Frosted Glass Spray, so here's our top LED light piece and here's our little bowl, all nice and painted and dry, and here's our stimulus wine glass with that frosted look. Let's go ahead and also grab our lighting assembly pieces, now to put the lantern together, all we're going to do is turn that container upside down as shown here and apply it to the bottom of your frosted wine glass.
Now I'm just going to use my high temperature hot wood glue for this, but use E6000 or Gorilla Glue if you want a more permanent fix, it's just going to stick them together and hold them until they're together now, once those two pieces are joined together. What we're going to do is reassemble the top of the LED light, just put those lights back through the hole and then put that little assembly back in place, it should snap back in there and then put those back in lights into the bulb and screw them in. Returning to its place is very easy now to cover the white part.
I decided to cut some foam circle. You can also use felt and I'm going to put it on top. Now I'm going to paste it, I'm not going to paste it on top. the whole mechanism, I'm just going to put a dot on the top of the battery compartment, this way you could still access the battery compartment and the on/off switch, so you're just going to press and hold until the foam secures to that top cap and then you just place it on top of the entire flashlight assembly and lo and behold, now you have the cutest little flashlight.
If you want to turn on the lights, just turn on that little piece of foam, turn on the light and you're done. to access and here is the little lantern with frosted glass. It's super adorable. Now you can place them almost anywhere in your house and the fact that it runs on batteries makes it super convenient. Now I love this style, but I'll just show you how to bring a little more life to your space. Now here we have the three components that we started with and we're going to start embellishing this frosted glass jar. Now you can put any type of design. on it, but I decided to make a diamond pattern now, to do this I'm going to use some of this black permanent vinyl that you can get at the Dollar Tree in Crafter Square now, if you can't find it, you can make that too.
I used the electrical tape in the hardware section and I have used it in the past and cut it into strips to use the same way now to cut this vinyl or to cut your electrical tape. I like to apply it to a cut. Mat, use a ruler and your blade to cut all the lines. An easier way to do this is if you have a paper cutter, you can also pop it into one of these paper cutters and cut it into strips now for this project. cut my strips into a quarter inch size and here are all my little quarter inch cut strips ready for the overseas project and grab our glass and we're going to start with that diamond pattern but first before we start to apply it.
We're going to have to mark the top of our section, so I'm going to put five dots around the top and this will make six sections, so I'm just going to take my little chalk marker here and I'm going around and I'm looking at this face between them, but if you want more precise spacing, definitely use a tape measure and make sure they are equally spaced for the best result. Now, once you have marked the entire top edge, go ahead and remove the vinyl. one of your strips and we're going to start applying it to the jar now when we start applying it to this container we're going to go down at an angle now this is going to set the pattern for the rest of all your strips just go ahead and cut it out where it overlaps the top and bottom and then where it ends at the bottom will be your first mark on the bottom and we're also going to mark five equal points there, now we can cut it out. that top edge of that piece, so we're going to take our second strip, now we're going to start applying this to take that second strip and just follow the pattern on the first piece to the next point at the bottom. and we're going to continue this all the way around, so now we have the five strips around the frosted glass.
Now you need to rub it with your fingers to make sure they are nice and secure completely. so now what we're going to do is go in the other direction to make our diamond pattern. We're still going to use those five marks starting and stopping the same way we did, so I'm just going to start applying it at one of those marks and finish at the mark at the bottom the same way, crossing over the pieces we finished to do again, we're going to trim it where it goes across the bottom where you can't see it. the outside of the project, then we'll continue adding our strips until we get to the next spot, making sure the spacing is even on all sides and this is what it looks like when it's all done guys.
I love this pattern, so now we can go ahead and put together our lantern. We will put it together in the same way. I'm going to use some hot wood glue for my project and just apply that primer onto the glass. and then once it's adhered all we have to do is place the ornament on top and that's it, there you have it guys, a beautiful update to this Lantern piece. Now I love this diamond pattern and it really makes it pop. Now it's more expensive. I hope you try this really cute and easy flashlight, but if you can't find the LED light, don't worry, you can use this piece without it, all you have to do is add just a couple of small lights. battery candles like I did and you can still enjoy this piece now this project is a great decorative bead decoration.
I'm going to need some ping pong balls and you can get them at Dollar Tree you could even use the little pom poms or a bunny butt uh bunny butt tails for this project you'll also need some fabric of your choice and I bought this little plaid fabric from Joann's, so I'm going to start with one fabric and what I did was I cut a strip the width of the fabric, which is about 23 inches, and it's going to be a five and a half inch strip. You will simply place it and fold the good side over each other. and make sure those ends match.
What you want to do is use a fabric glue that you want to sew or adhere The Edge along the entire length of the strip. Now what I'm going to do is take it to my machine and just run it. through Quick Stitch down the side to keep everything nice and secure, so all you have to do now is turn the right side out. Now you can take a long safety pin to do this or you can maneuver it with your hands. To use this little Bodkin tool that I have in my sewing room, I'm just going to go through it and just twist it, twist this whole tube out and I just want to make sure everything comes out nice and even right.
Now our tube is turned outwards and we can start working on our decor piece, so now I'm just going to grab my ping pong balls for this project. I actually bought a huge bag of them a while ago on Amazon so I'm I'll use them too and I'll link to them um. I'll link them in the description box too in case you're interested in a larger bag, so I want to take one end of my tube and I'm just going to go ahead and put a clip on it so that when I start adding my balls of ping pong to the tube don't fall out the other end, so I'm going to add a total of 12 balls, so that would be two

dollar

s.
Tree sized bundles of these and I'm going to start working on my project adding 12 of them so all 12 are inside my tube right now so now you can start adding the little gap now to separate them it's really easy. I'm going to use some thread and I bought it from the Dollar Tree a while ago so I had some black thread. You can use any type of thread or any method you choose to use to make these a split piece. so I'm going to cut some pieces, probably about 10 inches each, and for the end of my piece, what I'm going to do is I'm going to wrap that thread three or four times really tight and I'm going to tie it off. a triple knot in that thread now, once that's done, all you have to do is cut another piece, you're going to pull the fabric really tight at the bottom under that first ball, wrap it three or four times and tie another knot triple now this. is the process that I'm going to use for all the balls in my tube now here are the first four six this is what it looks like so I'm going to continue with the last six now here are 12 of the All the balls are tied in place and This measures about 18 inches now, since I had some extra space I added six more balls for a total of 18 balls in my 23 inch long tube, so all I'm doing now is moving on. and just trim the ends to give it a decorative touch and then trim all the threads that are tied between each of the balls and this is what my thread looks like, so simple and easy now I love decorating with beads but I think this It would be super cute for a farmhouse decor or any decor you like.
Now you could even use it as part of a wreath decoration if you add this to a wreath frame. I think it would be adorable and then you can decorate it. For All Seasons there are many uses for this little piece, but for me I am just going to use it as a decorative piece on my table and there you have it guys, how easy was it that now this piece is so fun to make and can be used in many ways ways in your decor now this project is a set of light sconces now here is my inspiration for this project today now I wanted something similar in my home decor that was battery powered and more affordable at one hundred thousand twenty nine dollars so I used this design as inspiration to create my own version and grabbed some supplies from the Dollar Tree and cheap wood to make it all come to life.
Now for this project, we will need two of these scalloped containers. from Dollar Tree, some craft sticks from Dollar Tree, so small cuts of 1 by 4 and you can get an eight foot piece of this wood for about 379 at Home Depot and I'm also going to use one of these wooden stakes. which are a dollar from the garden section at Dollar General Foreign times four and we're going to cut five inch pieces of that and then I'm going to take that garden stake and I'm going to cut four pieces of that Garden State Now two of the pieces are They will be cut to two inches and two of the pieces will be cut to two and three-quarter inches.
Now, if you don't want to get the wooden pieces, you can always build all of this. With the falling tower blocks, you can make a flat piece for the five inch piece and then stack them to make these pieces and then cut them to the proper size. You just want to be sure to use wood glue when assembling this way if you decide to do so. Use the falling tower blocks, so I'm going to gather all my wood pieces and place them now. We're going to start with the small pieces of the wooden stake and I'm going to form them into this.
L shaped, as shown here, now you can use wood glue or gluehot wood glue and I'm going to use hot wood glue for my project since I'll be sticking with screws. Now I'm going to attach this first L bracket and I'm going to repeat it to make a total of two of them. Now I'm going to drill a pilot hole in the bottom corner of that L and I'm going to use a 3 32 inch drill bit to do this. I'm going to grow straight down, right at that corner joint, and then I'm going to take some screws.
I'm going to take two one and a quarter inch number six wood screws. I'm going to start threading them by hand. and then I'm going to apply it all the way down the piece until it's nice and flush. Now you're going to repeat this for the second one and now I'm going to grab two thumbtacks. Now I take these thumbtacks because I wanted to. to cover the screw heads, so I'm cutting off the little pointy end until I have just the flat part of these thumb tacks. Now I'm going to apply them over the screw heads and this is really going to look like a little accent on the piece, so I'm just going to add a little bit of hot glue and then I'm going to pre-position that little thumbtack head right over the screw head to cover it, so now we're going to work on the back plates of our piece, as you can see.
The bracket will mount to the top of the backplate and we're going to go ahead and center it near the top and trace it now. I have it about an inch down from the top right in the center of that backplate now once To trace both squares on the backplate, what we're going to do is drill a hole through the black backplate, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and grab my drill. Same three thirty second inch drill bits and I'm going to drill a hole right in the center of the square that I just traced on that back plate.
Now you are going to do this for both pieces. Now we want to apply this. L bracket right at the top, so to secure that first I'm going to add a little more of that hot wood glue and apply it right on that square making sure it's perfectly centered. Now this is just a temporary hold. pieces in place, so I'm going to go ahead and turn them over and I'm going to take my drill again, so we're going to go back through the same pilot hole that we drilled through the back plate. this time going all the way to the bottom of our L-bracket and once the pilot hole is drilled through that L-bracket, we'll take two more screws to secure it in place and this time we'll use one and the other. half inch wood screws in a size number six so we can hand thread them through the hole and then we're just going to screw them all the way in to make sure it goes into the L bracket and voila, it's nice and secure. repeat it for the second one and you will notice that this is nice and solid, okay let's get to work. about putting some hooks on the back now I love these D rings.
I bought them on Amazon. I'll link them in the description box below and they come with their own little individual screws so I'll apply them right above the top. Edge right above that screw and to make them stay in place while I work on them, I like to just put DOTA hot glue on just to hold the D ring in place and then screw it in by hand with those little screws that you don't really need no pilot hole, it really goes in very easily and now we have our two hooks on the back so now that we have our mounting plates ready, we're going to go ahead and grab them and also some craft sticks and I'm going to count about 20.
Now let's get ready to paint this and I'm going to paint all of my pieces with this black acrylic paint, so I'm going to apply paint all over the outside. edges and the front of all my mounting brackets for my light and this is what one looks strange this to the other and here they are, you want to let them dry and we can start working on those craft sticks now for these

crafts

. sticks I'm going to paint both sides of the craft sticks, even around the edge, and here they are all and then once that dries we can go in and paint the tips that we were holding on to now, just let all of this dry while this it's drying out, go ahead and grab your containers of scallops, we're going to take all the labels off of them and then we're going to wipe them down with some isopropyl alcohol now that they're nice and clean, go ahead and grab your craft sticks that are dry. some black electrical tape and we're going to start putting our layout together so I want to start with the electrical tape and I'm going to go and add the electrical tape along the seams of the container so it has all four sides so I'm cutting a piece long enough to cover all those seams, just making sure it goes right down the center.
Now once they're all there, I'm going to go secure them in place and press them down, just to make sure that they're nice and secure and overlap that seam and then you can take all the excess over the top and bottom of the container and just trim it and fold it down you know you can trim it with a pair of scissors or a utility. Now, this is what it looks like with the four seams and they look like the corner support brackets of a lamp. Now, of course, you can take your electrical tape and cross the top and bottom, but the scalloped edge will show, so this is Why I chose to make craft sticks?
So I'm going to take my craft stick and place it on the top and bottom and cut out my piece with these painted craft sticks now of course when you apply them. you definitely want to overlap those scallops make sure they're not showing from the front outline the edges with a pencil and then go ahead and cut them out now after doing a quick test fit you can apply them in place and I'm just going to use one drop of glue on the bottom, you just want to make sure that when you apply it you don't want to make sure you wipe off any excess and just go ahead and apply it in place making sure it's okay. nice and even now we are going to do the two long sides first the front and the back and then we are going to apply sticks to the two sides now the two sides will overlap and as you can see the bottom is trimmed.
We can repeat this for the top edge, now the whole top and bottom are nice and cut out for our container, so now what we want to do is drill a small hole in the top. You could definitely use a knife or a hot blade for this, but I'm going to use my drill, but carefully run the drill into the hole because let me tell you, if you press too hard it will definitely break, so let the drill bit do the work, do not apply. Press now to cover the top, you can paint it and cover it with electrical tape, but since I had some of this vinyl from Dollar Tree, this will be the perfect cover for this, so you don't necessarily have to have a cutting machine to use it.
Vinyl is useful for a lot of projects so I'm going to peel it off and apply it to the top of my container and then press it into place and then I'm going to go around with the blade of my utility belt. and then just remove all the excess that overlaps the edges. Now what I'm going to do is take two of those craft sticks, I'm going to cut them in half and what I want to do is hot. stick them to the inside of the container all the way to the bottom now, I actually should have done this before drilling but decided to do it after.
I just wanted a little more reinforcement and as you can see I could put three or four sticks on the bottom and they just reinforce the top of the container and now I'm going to take my mounting bracket and I need to drill a hole in the bottom of the L bracket that will attach to my light fixture so I'm going to take that 3 32 inch drill bit and I'm going to drill down to the L part of the bracket and then I'm going to take a one inch wood screw to apply it, but first I'm going to a Drill again through that hole at the top to go through those wooden sticks and I want to use one of these washers that I had on hand.
You just want a nice big round washer. The size doesn't really matter. I'll put the size. in the description box, but you can go ahead and put the screw through that little washer and this will prevent the screw from going through the top of your flashlight and provides a little reinforcement, so I'm just going to apply this by hand screwing. from the inside, where this screw sticks out of the top, now where that hole you drilled in the mounting bracket, this is where you're going to hand screw it into that mounting bracket, just hold both pieces in place, like you should screw it in with quite easily into place and there you have it, your lighting fixture part is attached to your mounting bracket.
Now you're just going to repeat the whole process for your other container and you now have a nice pair of your Mac mounting brackets now. Note that there are still some raw cut edges, but we'll save them until the end to touch up all of that after placing the lights inside. Now for the lights you can choose some faucet lights, these are really cheap faucet lights. Dollar Tree has their version of these or for me I'm going to use these bulb fixtures here now they come with a little bib and these are LED pendant lights that I bought from the lighting section at Dollar Tree now these little bibs around the top and I'm going to remove a little support and show you how to do it.
Now it is very easy to place them. You can use velcro squares or you can even use magnetic buttons. Both will work perfectly for this project. my light bulb fixtures I'm going to go ahead and remove all the labels and remove that little ring hanging at the top. Now I'm testing the lights of course to make sure everything works before I start my work and to remove it I'm using my hot knife now this is very handy if you don't have one of these in your crafting arsenal you definitely need one . There are only about 14 on Amazon, so as you can see, once it's nice and warmed up, just cut this plastic off. like butter and you just want to cut until the entire bib separates from the main bulb piece.
Now to remove it just unscrew the bulb part you can remove the bib and then you can put the wiring back into the bulbs and now. you have one fixed light bulb now you're just going to repeat this for the second one until they're both nice and trimmed and ready to go now that you notice the top is silver, but instead of painting I'm just going to go around. this with more electrical tape just to cover it and make sure it blends well with my project. Now I'll put a round around the top and then I'll put another round around the bottom silver part.
Now here it is all covered. Now the only exposed area is just that little ring there and we'll touch it up with paint later, but for now we're just going to cover that second one and now they're both ready to go, so now on to it. What we need to do is work on our accessories, so I decided to use the magnetic buttons since they are smaller. Now these magnetic buttons come in pairs, so let's stack a pair on top of each other now. I'm just going to place this right above the battery compartment where it won't get in the way of opening the battery compartment or turning it on so it's the perfect size, so what I'm going to do is hot glue it, dot hot glue it. just on the top of the battery compartment and then put that button, put the magnetic button right on top.
You also want to do that for the second one, so now that our buttons are connected, I'm going to go ahead and touch up that little one. paint around that ring and then let it dry. You want to make sure you do this for both and you may need to do two coats and here it is all nice and covered now that I have that paint. To go ahead and just touch up those cut edges like I mentioned before, you just want to touch up everything around the body of your Flashlight wherever those cuts appear, so what I'm doing now is I'm taking my hot glue and I'm turning the screw mechanism over. of the washer right above there.
I just want to make a flat, even surface. Once the hot glue dries on top of the washer you put inside, add a DOOT of hot glue to the top of the button. Place the magnetic. button placed on the bottom of the light and then carefully place it on the hot glue base you just made there, what you need to do is press it firmly into place and hold it for five to ten seconds until it starts to stick now since it's binding you basically want to rotate the fixture and make sure it's even across all the windows where it's going to be displayed and in about 20 seconds this light fixture will be nice and secure or the buttons will be nice and secure inside and then I'm going to repeat that for the second one and here is the lighting device with the light inside.
I love how they lookNow as you can see these bulbs are easy to remove, just grab them because there is a button attached to a magnet. button, you just put the other end on the other side of the magnet and it's easy to turn on and off and then that magnet basically snaps it back into place. It's a great idea to make it removable and here are all the lights hanging. on display and I really love how they turned out now, all the little details on this piece really make it look expensive and no one will know that it will only cost you about six dollars to make the pair now.
I love the little ones. They look like light bulbs, but you can also change them for faucet lights. Now, by simply removing the bulb from the magnet, you can flip a switch and turn them off very easily. Let me know what you think of this super easy project in the comments below. The project is an interchangeable hanging shovel. Decorative piece. Now we're going to need two of these pet food scoops from Dollar Tree for this project, so we're going to take our two scoops, remove those labels, and clean them really well. and then we'll take them out and give them a couple of coats of zinser123 primer to cover that color and then once the primer dries, we'll go over with our final coat, which is this Krylon matte white.
You can also use satin white, use your Waverly chalk paint or regular acrylic paint if you want Now after they have dried, here are my two balls completely painted on the front and back. Now the first thing we're going to do is go ahead, drill a hole in the bottom center, we're going to flip it to the back and you'll see exactly where I'm going to drill this hole. You could have drilled it before painting, but I was so eager to paint, I did this afterward and we'll just do some minor touch-ups, so to drill the hole, I'm just going to choose a large drill bit.
I'm choosing a drill bit that will fit at least one stem of greenery inside, so I chose a really big one from my kit. The size is up to you now. If you don't have a drill you can also cut the hole with a very sharp blade or you can use a hot knife just be very careful when using these items so from the back of the shovel I'm going to start carefully drilling my hole and make sure it is in the center back, behind the handle. Now we want to start drilling them very slowly. Let the tool do its job, don't apply hardly any pressure and you'll see.
It will form the perfect hole that opens right at the bottom of the blade. Now if you have any little slivers of plastic or anything you can go ahead and trim them off and remove them we're just going to repeat this for our other scoop so here are two scoops with our holes at the bottom all drilled nicely now before make any decoration. I'm going to go ahead and add the hangers to the back now to do this I'm going to use some of this jute twine and I bought it from the Dollar Tree at Crafter Square.
I'm going to cut two pieces about four four and a half inches because I'm going to form two loops with the jute twine. Now I'm going to take one of those loops and apply it to the back as shown here. Now location is key to getting it to hang. This is where you want to place your Loop. This is where I've found that it will hang better even if I apply a lot of that hot glue or I'm using wood glue on there and then I'm going to scrape it off. a little bit of that paint on each side of that glue to place a little piece of craft paper on it.
Now I wanted some of that glue to come into contact with the actual plastic and not just the paint, so I just scraped it off. a little bit there, but it will be covered by that little piece there and this looks very professional when you finish it this way, so I'm going to do this for my two scoops and now they have both hanging pieces. Instead I now decided to add some angst to my piece and my camera was turned off for the first one before the second. I'm going to show you what I did. I grabbed a craft stick and some black acrylic paint.
I'm just going to dip my craft stick in and then I'm going to drag that craft stick along the edge of my paddle. I love using my craft stick method for making distress. I think it gives it the perfect amount of angst, not too much. a lot, not too little, just a perfect amount and I love how it looks chunky and uneven so it has a more natural look. You just want to scoop out the handle and you can add as little or as much as you like. Now once that's done, I'm going to take some of my white acrylic paint and just do some minor touch ups during this process.
You may have chipped or scraped the blade and also where you drilled those holes. The paint may have come off so I'm going to touch them up with a little bit of white acrylic paint all over and let them dry and here they are all dry and ready to go so now let's start embellishing. I'm grabbing a couple of these fall picks from the Dollar Tree and also some of these green sprigs from a package I bought at the Dollar Tree. I'm also going to grab some leaves and these have little berries on them that you can add any combination you want and I chose some really bright festive colors for my bundles so I'm going to group one of each in a little cluster there until I'm happy with how they look and then I'll gather those stems. and stick them all in that hole you drilled and they'll just slide in there perfectly.
You just pop them out from the back and then make adjustments inside the scoop to make sure everything fits the way you want, so here's my group everything inside the scoop, looking really cute right now, as you can see, those stems will be delivered. Now we'll hide behind the handle of the shovel to add some embellishments. I'm going to add a little bow around the top. of that handle as shown here, so this will not only provide embellishment but will also keep the stems from sticking out if they move, so I'm just going to glue on some of this grosgrain ribbon and then hot glue it on top Of her self.
Not actually on the actual upper and then turn the seam back. This will provide the perfect base to apply one of these ribbons that I also tied with that grosgrain ribbon and if you don't like bows, that's okay, you can leave this on. from your project, but I wanted to add it just to give a little more farmhouse accent to my project, so I'm just going to hot glue it on top of that strip that I wrapped around the base to give it a little bit of an accent now I'm going Let's repeat this also for my other scoop, now to put the ribbon there and tie it, it's very simple, I'm just going to fold it in half as shown here and have a little tail.
I'm going to grab the back and wrap it around and then I'm going to go up through that loop at the back, really simple and easy little bun. I am by no means a bun professional. I just moved it away and made a little bow tie. here and that's what I use to make this little bow to go to the bottom of my paddle so I cut it out and then added it to my paddle project and that's it guys that's all you have to do to make These really cute fall decor pieces and here are your complete hanging decor set for fall.
