CBT and the program that we use to do

CBT is our program called SilverCloud, so we're going to tell you a little bit about that program, how it works and

what

online CBT is. and how reviews of that program actually work.

Well, I'll start and tell us a little about the program itself. First of all, I guess Silver Cloud is an online psychoeducational program that is based on the principles of

cognitive

behavioral

therapy

and if you want to

know

more about this, specific type of

therapy

and how it works, watch our video about it. I guess a positive aspect of online therapy is that it is quite independent, it teaches you to be your own therapist and Silver Cloud gives you the tools to be able to do that. do that, that's a very positive thing now, the way it would work if you wanted to do Silver Cloud is that you would get a link to log into this program, you would click on this link, you would create your account and this would make the program that you registered is available so we have programs available for different common mental health difficulties such as anxiety, low mood and panic so when you register there will be several modules for you to work on and each of these modules.

It's quite interactive, it involves a lot of different things, so some information about the problem, some tools and techniques so you can work while you're in the program, potentially some videos and then various things to learn and put into practice on your day. -Life today and I cannot emphasize enough the importance of this. Really most of the benefit of this program will come from how much you take these tools away and use them in your life. Now these modules vary as you progress. through the program, so the first two are pretty introductory. The first one will explain the program how it works, how it works, then there will be a couple of modules that are quite descriptive and will give you an understanding of the main problem and then, um, there.

There will be some modules focused on behavior change, so how can that improvement be achieved? Each of these modules lasts approximately 50 minutes each and can be worked on in a variety of ways, making it quite flexible. You could do these 50 minutes all at once. or you can log in every day, the program always saves your progress and you can always refer to things when necessary, so it is very interactive and can be adapted so that you find the way to use it that suits you best. Great, really very helpful, Veronica, thank you. I guess a question arises and you've already discussed it a bit.

Why should you choose online CBT over other treatment? Sure, that's a very common question and one that we receive very well. I often guess mainly because when people have heard of or access therapy, this may not fit their expectations, but it is actually an evidence-based program that has been shown to be just as effective as the other forms. of therapy we offer. If it is a therapy that fits your lifestyle, we recommend that you now consider what types of lifestyles this form of therapy is best for. I guess it's very, very good if you're a fairly busy person and you find it quite difficult to divide some time into your day, so 90 minutes for our group or something like that in the day.
As I said, the program can be developed very flexibly. You could do it for about 15 minutes every day, when you have some free time. You could do this outside of working hours, which is something we cannot accommodate other forms of support. It's really something that fits pretty well into busy lifestyles, it's really useful, thank you and one thing about Silver Cloud is that once we offer it, we put our customers on a waiting list, so you might They have to spend a couple of weeks reviewing the program without our support and then what we do is we take them off that waiting list and then we book those reviews with them, but some people ask questions like: what if they manage to finish the whole program before What are they assigned to? supporter to help them get through this so I guess in summary that shouldn't really be a situation that you ever find yourself in and the reason is that our wait list is usually two to three weeks long so you will be chosen one.
Within that time, this may seem like quite a long time initially, however, we recommend that you work through the program at a pace of one module per week, therefore, at the end of these three weeks, you will likely only have a maximum of three modules into the program that wouldn't be anywhere near the end now this might seem quite slow at first I guess, especially if you're eager to make a change and are really looking to get started, it might be tempting to work through the program. faster, but as I said at the beginning, the benefit of the program comes from practicing these modules, so giving each module a full week means that you can read the content and then really think about how to put the techniques into practice, for Therefore, we would do it.
I don't recommend working at a pace where you'll finish in those three weeks. Great, that's really helpful. Thank you, so in the next part we want to talk about Veronica mentioned that you

how to configure CBT or SilverCloud, those different modules that are in those. programs, so the way it works, as we mentioned, is that you get on a waiting list once you've been offered the treatment, but we set you up on that program right away once you get to the top of the waiting list for the supporter, which as Veronica mentioned will be maybe two to three weeks, we will call you and offer what we call a review call, which means every two weeks for between four and six reviews we will give you a review either over the phone or by phone. the program and it will be us reviewing your progress we will be able to see everything that you have chosen to share with us we will be able to see how far you have come with the different modules how often you have been able to log into the program and any messages you would like to leave us so that we can give you very good feedback on it and very good guidance on where to practice again or how to progress with it so I mentioned there are short phone reviews or online reviews.
Phone reviews are about a 15 minute conversation where we actually check in on how you did in the program that week and go over the modules with you so you really don't get much out of it. of a written review of that, but it would be more of a verbal review that you would receive over the phone. Online reviews do not

need

to be actually available when we upload them, but you will receive a notification once we have uploaded them. review and that's a written review of everything you've done so instead of doing it over the phone it's done on the show which means it's a little bit more flexible like veronica said if you're busy if you can't fit in on a date between nine and five, so yeah, that's how we offer Silver Cloud reviews, thanks for that, Sean, that's really very helpful.
I just have a couple of frequently asked questions that my patients have asked. and the first is that some people are doing these reviews and they want phone reviews so they can explore their concerns in more depth or just have a respective space to talk, so I'm wondering if you think a review would be appropriate for that. Yes, we offer phone reviews like I said, but they are short conversations because most of the treatment in our online program happens in that program, so you will work with those tools and techniques and our job is to really help you with that for problem resolution, Of course, we'll check in, we'll check in on how you're doing, what your weeks have been like, but it's more of a space to be able to think about the tools, how they worked, what went well and what was.
It is difficult instead to talk about concerns or feelings in greater depth. Really safe, so it sounds like a pretty structured space. Thanks for that. I guess another question that arises is that when people start they are not very sure. what to expect and what if they start with one type of revision and it doesn't work for them and they want to change to a different type. Would there be room for that? Yes, of course, very often that is the case, people don't do it. We're really sure what they want to do, so we might agree to do the first few reviews over the phone and then we'll move on to online or vice versa.
We will always do the final review over the phone and the reason we do this is because we want to discuss the next steps with you, whether you are finished with treatment or you would like further support, which we talk about in our video on the model. stepped care, so yes, it's okay to switch if you think another way would be better for you. Fantastic. thanks and finally I'm wondering if people have a busy schedule and don't feel like they can complete a full module each week and they might feel like they can't log in some weeks right?
It would be nice for them to go at their own pace, so I assume you know that the silver lining is flexible, it allows people to go at different paces, however, what we know about therapy is that it works best when we do it regularly, since which we know is CBT. You come in little and often and it's all based on the previous week, so you won't get the same benefit if you do it in the moment, or every month or every two weeks, instead of being able to log in constantly. That's why we offer you the review every two weeks, of course, you know that some weeks it may be a little busier or things come up and we are more than willing to discuss that with you, but we would ask that you do at least. about one module per week and to get the most out of the treatment and so that we can give you feedback about it, so if that's the case, it doesn't seem like the right time for you to participate in a treatment which is a conversation we can have with you , we can try to resolve the issue with you at that time, that's great, thank you shauna and thank you all for watching our video on
