You'll want to stay until the end of the video to see if it's your creation featured in today's video to get started if you want. to use the candles that I'm using today, these are, it's a four pack, you can find them at Costco 19.99, break them down, it's five dollars a candle, there's nothing better than these are nice two wick candles and they come with four. different aromas for this first DIY. I'm going to start with this thicker jute cord. You can get it at Walmart. You'll pay about four dollars for a two-pound package. I guess so, that's what we'll call it.

I'm going to wrap the jar with this jute cord using a little bit of hot glue just to keep the cord from slipping, keep it in place and for the lid I'll use a Dabber Sponge because you'll get a thick, full coverage on the first layer. and it will add a little texture, the color I'm using today, apple barrels, chocolate sprinkles, my new favorite Brown Dollar Tree, they have Scrabble tiles, amazing, you will receive one of each letter per package, so for this I decided I'm going with a Christmas word Noel. I'm going to stick them on some of that thicker Juke cord and this will hang from the candle like a garland, yes, it's a garland, not like it's a garland.

I wanted to add just a touch of color to this rustic candle I'm making, so I thought some red twine bows would be perfect at each end of the garland. I was thinking to myself. I feel like my rustic candle needs a bead hanger that I like. the look or the idea, so grabbing some of the square beads from Dollar Tree, I'm going to go ahead and cut them to the right size. I'm going to use the same string that the beads are strung on because it's a pretty Once it's the right size, I'm going to go ahead and just add some hot glue to the beads and just glue it to the cap, now you'll still have the ability to take the Lid on and off, you will just have to be a little careful with it,

easy

and quick, and look at the result of this candle for the next candle, no, actually, the next candles I will use a little of this caulk for all use.
You can get this at Dollar Tree. It's on Tool Bench, in the tools section. This is a trick that I've shown several times before on my channel on how you can make your own textured paint or puffy paint, so taking some of the caulk. I'm going to add just a little bit of paint, you can really add any color paint and even though the caulk is white it won't lighten or discolor your acrylic paint. Fun fact, right there, it will only thicken it and add that bubbly texture that I

love

when I apply my mixture to my jar.
I'm going to use a sponge because like I said before, you'll get a nice thick full coverage in one coat. I'm going to be generous. with the amount of paint and putty that I add because I want to add a little more texture to this jar because of the jar it's going to be now because there's putty in this one, it's going to take a little bit longer to dry than if you're just using regular acrylic paint because the caulk needs to dry so I recommend you use your favorite drying method and it helps speed up the process, and for the lid I added caulk to the chocolate chips because I really want it to have a good texture and I added a little more caulk to the paint than with the brown paint than with the white paint because spoiler alert.
I'll tell you what I'm doing. I'm making a s'more with this candle and the lid itself is supposed to be the melted chocolate bar, so I want to give the illusion that the chocolate is nice and thick and melted, so yeah, again you'll want to be generous with the amount you put on the lid. to give it that effect it already looks very cute but this is going to be cuter because our marshmallow needs a face, so I'm going to make it simple. I'm not going to think too much about it, don't be intimidated by doing this if you feel like it.
First I need to use a pencil to draw it. I say do it. This is a very basic face that I feel like you really can't go wrong with, so follow me as I do it when I add a face. features of pieces like this I like to use puff paint I feel like puff paint is easier than using a brush and not only is it easier but you will add texture, personality and dimension to this piece for the graham cracker part of my s plus my s'more candle, I'm using some planks from Dollar Trees Square, they are the perfect size for these candles and again I added some putty to the classic Apple barrel caramel, which seems to be the perfect brown for a graham cracker. with a little bit of Tim Holtz distressed ink in the color of that whole stain, yeah my absolute favorite medium to add some detail and distress so for my graham cracker I'm going to add a little bit of detail to make it look like a toasted graham cracker and I can easily do that with a distress ink.
I'm going to do that with the top graham cracker and the bottom graham cracker. Oh my God, I can't stand it. This is the cutest s'mores candle I think I've ever seen. For the next candle, you'll want to buy a quarter from Dollar Tree or look for one in your stash. This flannel one had the perfect style. I feel like for this the base of the jar, I went ahead and gave it a nice good coat of that puffy white paint that I did with the caulk on the lid. I'm going to wrap the lid with this red flannel Fat Quarter.
Now when you wrap the lid, you'll want to tape that fabric to the lid so that you still have the ability to put the lid on and off once you've wrapped it completely. I'm going to take some of that thicker jute cord and tie it on top there to make a hat, a hat for whatever. I'm going to be our snowman and again I'm going to go in with my puffy paint and add some fun facial features and really bring the snowman to life. It's cold outside. Frosty needs some rosy cheeks. I like to add those rosy cheeks using a pastel color and a brush, this is a pastel color you see right next to it, from Crayola, that I looked for in Ally's stash for Dollar Tree.
It has pastels from Artisan Square in the art section so I definitely say pick them up because it's an

easy

way to add them. Soft rosy cheeks, I guess one piece without using any paint and don't forget to add some puffy white paint and add some highlights because it will really bring your character to life for the next candle. I'm going to start again with that classic. apple barrel candy acrylic paint and it also mixes with the caulk so I'm going to give this jar a good coat adding just a little bit of that texture but not too much and for the lid of this candle I chose and applied a light coat with that textured chocolate chip face paint.
It couldn't be easier using my puffy paint. I'm just going to add a pair of eyes, I reached into my stash and pulled out a red pom pom. For the cute nose, I will use three chocolate brown pipe cleaners for the antlers of this reindeer, so by simply taking the three pipe cleaners, folding them in half and twisting them, I guess the wires together can form your antlers. look however you want them to look and with a little bit of hot glue I'll just stick them here on top and could you see how stinky and cute this reindeer candle is?
It's quick, easy and

adorable

. The next one you can really get creative with. and have fun, I'm going to stick with the rustic feel, so this jar is going to get a nice coat of some Waverly crimson and I added a little bit of putty just for texture and for the lid. with Waverly ink, this is where I decided to switch gears. To tell you the truth, I thought I was going to go one route with this lid or this DIY and I decided to go another route so that you don't really have to paint the lid if you don't.
I don't want to, I'd rather paint it because I'm going to wrap it with some burlap and the burlap is clear, so yeah, why not paint it and again, like I did with the snowman, I'm going to tie the top. some of the thicker jute cord now with this DIY I really wasn't sure which direction I was going, whether I was going the Santa toy bag route or just going the rustic Santa in a Christmas hat route. burlap. Don't know. It's up to you, but when I was done in the end I decided I wanted to add some of these wooden buttons and make a combination of both because why isn't that my DIY?
I'm getting creative, that's what I say about DIY. I'm just bringing you the idea of DIY. It's up to you to take what you like and leave what you don't, be creative and make it your own, this rustic Santa, rustic Santa or bag, yes, the choice is yours for this ultimate DIY candle. DIY I wanted to go the more traditional snowman route and with that I'm going to use some black Waverly ink and have a little bit of putty for texture. I wanted to put a little bit of a different face on it or show you a different face now this face is super easy it's really just kind of a backwards parenthesis for the eyes we all know how to do it right so don't think about it too much and if again you need to come in with a pencil and draw it.
First, you can do it easily, so if you make a mistake, you can erase it or just paint it until you get the face you like. Frosty has a top hat. You can easily do this using wooden boards from Dollar Trees that I am using. a combination of the rectangular planks and the square the rectangular this was one that I had in my God scraps. I don't know what I used it for but I knew it was the perfect size to put on top of the square. table to make the top hat. I'm going with the rustic route and for I guess the decorative fabric ribbon that goes on the top hat I'm using some burlap.
I'm just going to hot glue this piece all the way to the center. of this piece here, so yeah, let's look at that and yeah, it's going to go up here, it still gives us the ability to put the lid on and off. I felt like it was missing something, it was too simple, so Taking some of this greenery that I had left over from our decoration making the night here at the house, I thought I would stick some of it on Frosty's hat, add some berries and with That, there we go, we're done, so stinky and cute. pick up some candles and make them yourself to give as a gift this year, who is today's KB Creations Crafter of the Day, well it goes to Tracy Lynn who brings us her Recreation of my DIY Village stall, oh my goodness Tracy, I'm so stinky and excited to see it.
