wednesday morning worship
We're continuing this and just to remind you of where we've been and today I've titled today's lesson and message enthusiasm for personal holiness and I know that's an old-fashioned word. Perhaps for the American church, but it is still in use. fashion in heaven and so we're going to look at that today and again just to remind you where we've been, we're coming to the end of this great part of Paul's teaching, where you know, we look briefly at the first two areas remembering our position. and reconciling our suffering, but what Paul is again doing is that he is in the midst of restoring a broken Church, a steady diet of false teachings and false teachers had damaged the faith of the Corinthians up to this point.

More Interesting Facts About,

wednesday morning worship...

Paul had been differentiating himself in his ministry from the false teachers and influential people who opposed his ministry. He had also been clarifying the true gospel. If you look at his teachings, what he's doing, he's trying to show what it looks like to be authentic. teacher of the Gospel preacher of the Gospel proclaimer of Truth and then what is this gospel that We Proclaim and that is what he has been doing every time he has been restoring his faith up to this point? Now Paul begins a change and what he is doing now is calling on the Corinthian believers to begin to distinguish themselves from those false teachers and influencers who brought so much corruption to the church and, as we get into this, we will see that the main distinguishing mark that separates to the true believer from a false believer is the pursuit of Holiness is really intriguing and today when we look at this, if you have an outline, does everyone have one?
wednesday morning worship
By the way, I think it's great, you write this as a truth that we are going to see and you simply say this through the indwelling Holy Spirit, every true believer is obligated to pursue holiness. The Holy Spirit that indwells you as a believer will compel you to live a life and Holiness means separate, it means being set apart, that he will compel us. to be set apart for God and him alone, that is what the Holy Spirit does. When someone says that he calls himself a believer and yet sees himself no different than the world, I'm not saying that he's automatically lost, but I am.
wednesday morning worship
I'm telling you it's a telltale sign of lost people and lost people in the church. You're going to find this. In fact, this is what the apostle Paul appeals to from the beginning. Now let me tell you every time I say what I just said. um Kathy and I on our first mission trip that we did uh we went when we were working at a university we went to East St Louis Illinois now you have St Louis and then across the river you have East St Louis and it's still pretty bad, but at the time It was horrible, it was at the time the seventh poorest city in America and there was a missionary there named Chet Cantrell and he had a mission, in fact the last time I visited he was still there but he had a mission in the center of the city and it was for the children and to bring them to a place where, as he said, they could come into a safe place and be children because when they came out the doors they couldn't.
In fact, one of those kids would make sure they got home before dark because of the amount of gunshots going on around them, that was a very normal thing. I remember every time we were there there were all these kids who were just everywhere, you know. five six years up to about 17 somewhere there would have some older ones there, but um and we had this time where the university students who were with us because we took a group from the University I was working where I was working they were They gathered them into circular groups and they were trying to talk about how good God is to us and there was a kid that lived there in East St.
Louis that was sitting there and he had on one of these coats, these jackets and it was really one of those cool jackets that has like one of the NFL or NBA teams or something like that. I mean, it's a really nice jacket and, like this college student told us later while I was sitting there with him and he was talking about how good God has been and he just looked at this guy and said, for example, man, look how good has been God to you, you know someone got you this jacket and says, man, I stole this jacket that was East St.
Louis and, but this. It's what Chet taught me, David said, now let me tell you where they are and where they've grown when you're saved, he said, you'll probably hear after you're saved, you'll probably still hear it. some really bad words and he says I don't correct them because I found out that after two or three weeks the indwelling Holy Spirit will start to change their language, that's what the indwelling Holy Spirit does, he's the one who purifies our life and So, as we get into this, Paul is going to deal with a few things because what he is dealing with here is the fact that the disorder that is occurring in the church has not been the enemy without but the enemy within and there is where he says the problem comes so let's look at it the first thing he tells them and he tells us I think what we have to look at is separating from and I just called it here unbelieving believers I call them believers I could have said members of the church because they are not saved , but they think they are, they will be, I mean, they will argue with you that they are, and here in this Paul just comes out and says some things that I want us to read and then we will try to open it up for us, he says this starting in verse 14 until the first part of verse 16.
He says do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for society has justice with iniquity or fellowship with light. Darkness what agreement Christ has with Belial or what portion a believer shares with an unbeliever what agreement the temple of God has with idols now let me begin and say this, this may be one of the most misunderstood passages in the New Testament um how Many times I have heard people use this in reference to a saved person should never marry a lost person or use this when you know that a saved person should never do business with lost people, that kind of thing is not what Paul is talking about.
Now that may be wisdom, but that's not what Paul is talking about here. Paul is dealing with the lost people that are in the church, I mean, he had dealt with it even before Jesus dealt, he says, you can't escape, you know? We are in the world we simply do not need to be of the world. In fact, how do we share with the world the truth of God's goodness and the good news of the Gospel without being close to them? You can't do it any other way. and in the first century, the early church is there, they meet if they say they can't be around lost people, well, they would have starved because they couldn't have gone to the market in each area. of the businesses that they dealt with, they couldn't be around any of them because they were fine, so that's not what you're talking about here now again, let me go over as we go through this, this is what I told you last time.
The week was this is this section from chapter 1 verse 12 to chapter 7 verse 16. and we have been looking, we are in that second, the last one, I don't even know if you can see it there, but it is a desire for personal holiness and then we will continue from there in the last part of this section on Godly expressions of grief and as we get to this, we know that there are still unbelievers in influential positions in the church, it is one of the hardest things about being a pastor is How do you do the best you can?
I don't know if they're saved or not, that's not mine, you know, I'm not there, I'm not the police on that, but I can tell you the evidence and we'll show you some here as you start to see the evidence. I can tell you that every time I see the evidence I don't want you to be life group leaders. I definitely don't want them to be. Deacons, I don't want you to be in any spiritual position, especially I own the staff, I just don't want you to be there as best you can, and as we look at this, he says in this passage about not being unequally yoked now.
What does that mean? Well, what does this mean to be poorly or poorly matched in a partnership not to be matched to be poorly or poorly matched in other words don't be around those types of people don't hang out with those types of people in church now obviously it should be something similar outside of the church, but I have met many Christians who do not have lost people that they even have acquaintances with and that is not the healthy place to be in the church, that is how We influence, we do influence them and you do not want them as your Closest Associates, so as he says here, he says some things that really give.
I think I have five things down on this one, five or six and something like that, so we. I'm just going to go over what he says and I'm going to try we're going to try to look at it and you could have said this. I actually wrote this 10 different ways and this was the least annoying. In a way, he gives five things that I would simply call signs of believing believers. What about that? Since you are in a life group. Since you are in a small group. look the first thing and I just said it this way is to live according to the word of God let me tell you I will show you why I said that but to live according to the word of God now he says this in the first in this part of uh chapter 14 he says why society has justice and it says anarchy anarchy is refusing to follow the law and in this it refers to the laws of God and it says justice of what kind but it uses this word and here is the key to each one.
Of these five is the word that he uses with them and here he uses the word association, that's why I say it, what does he mean by association, does he have justice with anarchy, association? The word used there literally means a relationship that involves sharing. purposes and activity is a partnership is sharing activity and righteousness cannot be in association with lawlessness in other words, the Holy Spirit that indwells a believer will not go and do things contrary to the laws of God's ways, etc. . a person who is a genuine believer is not going to say, well, you know, that's what they did in the first century, that's not applicable today, well, I know it says that, but you know you know God. grace of God you can know in that kind of garbage and I'm not talking about some kind of rituals and religious standards, you know, I'm talking about the Holiness of God separated in every area of your life and therefore the first thing is to live according to the word of God a believer who has the righteousness of God dwelling in us as a believer has become the righteousness of God that person is going to live that does not mean listening I am not talking about sinless perfection I am just talking about the Holy Spirit brings a divine conviction and as we spend time in the word of God, God teaches us through hisword, you know how to say yes to godliness and no to ungodliness, okay, the second thing that a person who is a believing believer will have in his life and I just said it this way, I just call it exposing our expositions, yeah you want to say it, the Acts of Darkness and he says it like this and in this passage in the chapter in verse 14 again he says or what fellowship and here is the key word, his fellowship has light with darkness and that's why the reason why What I have called exposing the facts of darkness is the word fellowship, what does it do?
This is the Greek word and what it means is a partnership that involves close mutual relationships or a close association and what he's saying is that light cannot be in close association with darkness, right? It cannot be in a close relationship with and just as we are believers and and Jesus calls us the light of the world the light of his kingdom dwells within us what happens is not that because we have his light we can still continue in the Works of Darkness we can that the Holy Spirit indwelling us will expose those areas, literally turn on the oh, he's going to turn on the light switch Colossians chapter 1 verse 13 has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son and then in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 11 he says don't engage in the unfruitful works of darkness, but expose them and I don't think he's necessarily saying expose them, you know automatically in other people's lives, well let me show you that right there sin in your life you can do that.
I guess if you feel the Holy Spirit leading me, but I tell you what I found is that's what he does to me because I spend time in the word of God, the light of the spirit of God, he just goes and shows me Aries and David says. This is an area of your life where darkness lives, you need, I'm exposing it, you need to expel it, you need to eliminate it, okay, and that's another thing that you will find in a believer, you will find that. in them there is this reality that happens, the next one is in fact, we just sing about the next one and I just call it this opposition to the kingdom of Satan in the first part of verse 15.
It says this with what a chord Christ has. Bilal and Bilal is another name for Satan or literally or the Antichrist, so it's that and there again, if you noticed I'm walking through these, we look at partnership, then Fellowship, now use the word um, the word Agreement, and what does that mean? The word means to come to an agreement, it often involves a type of joint decision and that is why he said that a genuine believer will not enter, as I will put it this way, making a truce with Satan, they simply will not accept the spirit of God that dwells in us It's not going to go there now, we can stumble over it, we can have a journey and fall into it sometimes, but the Holy Spirit that indwells a genuine believer will rise up against the kingdom of darkness and I'm not talking about, you know, in the Some of the ways I'm talking about in life you will recognize it, I mean it's a work of Satan, it's not that you know it and then you will object, that's what you know, you know this is Believers, you may have children or grandchildren. you can see the darkness at work in their lives and then in your prayers the indwelling Holy Spirit says you need to face the enemy here and that's what you do, that's what a genuine believer does, they're not trying to get into some guy. contract with Satan, which is amazing to me, how many people profess to be believers that will do that and you know we see it around us again Ephesians 6 11 says this, put on the whole armor of God so that he can stand firm. against the machinations of the devil that is holy that is what a believer does Jesus said it this way in Matthew 20 verse 30. he says if you want to see the difference between a genuine believer and an unbelieving member of a church one of the things you can see is in Matthew 12 30 he says he who is not with me is against me and he who does not join with me scatters he says look and in there I have taught this before there are three groups of people that he talks about that those who are not with him in others words and against him, but also those who are with him but do not work with him.
I always think about it in the mentality of a baseball team that you have, you know one team has a jersey on another team. another color shirt and if you're not with me, that would be the other team with their shirt, you're against me, but then he says, but if you're not meeting, in other words, you're not willing to go out. in the game you're just scattering, you're not helping at all, you're not part of what God wants to do and we see that a lot, so let me go to the fourth um. And this was one that I had to work through to try to see what this word used here said, but I literally wrote it this way: A genuine believer is living his faith before a fallen world, living his faith before a world fallen and he says it the way he says it in this passage in verse 15, he says or what portion and that's the key word here that a believer shares with an unbeliever and that word portion literally means part or portion uh is what the Greek word that you use there with the possible implication of a significant division or distinction and what he is saying is that he says that the two, a believer and an unbeliever, there is a distinction between the two, they have no where They are simply indistinguishable, there is a distinctive mark on a believer and that's why in this I just said that as we live our faith in this fallen world, people can tell, they know they can tell by the way you live your life, you know the people in the world. job.
I can say I'm not saying you know you're running with you know I love the Jesus sticker on your shirt or anything like that, but it's the way you live your life that they know there's something different. I know I've probably told you this. in the first or second century it's the early church um man and we don't know for sure who he is, but he wrote what was called an apology and that's what they called it back then basically a defense of the gospel and it was I think it was called an apology. , I think it was Diogenes, but there he talks about the believers and I, and again, I'm kind of paraphrasing, but I only remember the part that caught my attention, he said in terms of their the way they dress, there is no distinction with respect to the rest, you know, the way they work and stuff, there is no distinction and then he says, yet the whole tenor of his life is truly extraordinary, in other words, if you look at a believer, you can't say that they are not believers because we dress differently.
And yet, when you look at the life of a believer there is an extraordinary reality that distinguishes it from that of unbelievers. That makes sense? That's what Paul I believes saying here he says this in First Peter chapter 2 verse 12 he says this be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors then if they accuse you of doing wrong they will see your honorable behavior and give honor to God when he judges the world they are going to say you know you were right I saw the distinction that I did not give to them but I saw the difference and then I just called this this one I said this fifth is set apart for the presence of God and we are going to look at this a little bit more second but it says who says it this way what agreement does the temple of God have with idols now he is about to tell us that you are you are the temple of God but but in this what is he saying well for those who were there knew that of course the Greeks knew that their temples had their gods all in them and they knew that you know the Temple of God that was in Jerusalem in That time there were none of those idols in them, so he was talking about the difference between the two and he says: you know, the Temple of God is in no way in agreement.
I think that's the word he used there, yeah, with those idols in others. words, we don't bring those idols into the temple of God now that word agreement literally this is what it means to come to a joint agreement to agree to arrange together joint agreement joint agreement mutual agreement that's what the Greek word means there, what is it saying? and then what I did was say that there is no agreement in the Temple of God with idols to the point that you and I will have idols in our hearts apart from God. That makes sense?
So let's look at this a little bit. Kinda, those are some of the distinguishing marks that I guess you would see in a believing believer, so if you're not seeing some of these things, in other words, people who are absolutely okay with having other idols in their heart, in other words. They are chasing money without worrying about the things of God that would be an idol in their hearts. You know they're not pulling away like that. I do not say again that it is not perfection without sin. It just means that the holy spirit in them is going to say hey, that's wrong, that's not right, you know, let's switch to that, okay.
The second thing when we start to look at this is, uh, not only differentiate yourself, but the second is to see yourself as the temple of God in the pursuit of holiness you must be very careful with the people who profess to be believers with whom you you go now I know we can even say well, hey, you know, so let me back up and say this in church. Because the church is open to everyone, we are always going to have unbelievers in the church, but what happens is that people who claim to be saved but continue to live in the world, continue to have that mentality, but man.
Do you know that they are a great financial advisor and that is why we put them in charge of the finances? What are they going to start doing? They are going to start making unspiritual decisions about the church's finances. They're going to start infiltrating and. They don't even know what they are doing, they will think they are believers and yet they are living in a way that is contrary to the pursuit of holiness and this is a danger, but now he says, let's go ahead and see ourselves as the temple. of God so this is what it says in the last part of verse 16. 3 18 He says this because we are the Temple of the Living God as God said I will make my dwelling among them and I will walk among them and I will be their God and they will be my people , therefore, come out from among them and be separate from them, says the Lord, and do not touch anything unclean, then I will receive you and will be a father to you and you will be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty now.
We know that the Bible tells us that we are the temple of God in fact before in First Corinthians he said this in chapter 6 verse 19 and 20 it says or you do not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you whom you have from God you are not yours because you were bought with a price so glorify God with your body now this is what I found with many people in the church we know those things intellectually but are we practicing those things daily? Are we walking in that life? You know, I've said it this way in America and it just breaks.
I mean, I can feel the anger every time I say it from people, it's that when you gave your life to Christ, you don't do it. You no longer have a vote you lost your right to vote I'm not talking about voting for an election I'm telling you that you gave your life to Christ you belong to him you don't have the option to say yes but I want to do this I've decided I know that's what you can want let me live this holy life but you know what I feel like I was born a certain way and that's why I should be able to live that's the LIE see what?
I'm saying, do you think this mentality is pervasive in the church in America? You better believe it. I'm telling you it's destroying the church in America. This lie says that I can live however I want. In the same way it is to see oneself as a temple of the Holy Spirit as a temple of God. Here you tell us a couple of things that we should know first and here is what I had briefly referred to before, but first you. carry the presence of God the holy spirit of God dwells in you you have been born again as a temple of God you have the presence of God dwelling in you again which in verse 16 here it says because we are the Temple of the Living God as God said I will make my home among them and I will walk among them I will be their God and they will be my people a person who has given their life to Christ literally the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in US as the temple in us as we are the Temple of his presence, so that is one of the incredible benefits, one of the incredible realities as a temple of God and then the second thing we have here that I feel I need to say is that you enjoy God's provision. you enjoy the provision or provisions of God then he says this therefore come out from their midst and separate yourself from them says the Lord and touch nothing unclean look he says then I will welcome you and then look at what he says next and I will be a father to you and you will be sons and daughters to me.
What does a father do for his sons and daughters? He provides care for the disciples, disciplines, assumes responsibility and as a believer when we come to the reality that we are the temples. of God that says when I am walking in this and as a result I am separating myself from the loss of the unbelieving Believers that are in the church and focusing on walking in the Holiness that God has for me. Whatever happens is his, he is going to begin to provide for me in all my needs, you know that my God will provide all your needs according to his riches in his glory.
God says he is going to do that for us, that is the Godthe one we serve and let me bring you. to the third again while we are watching this just to remind you to separate yourself from unbelieving believers, see yourself as the temple of God, but then the third says that this in our pursuit of personal holiness is surrendering to the cleansing of the spirit , give yourself away. for the cleansing of the spirit if you are the Holy Spirit who dwells in you, he is anxious for your personal holiness and that is why he will help you separate yourself from the unbelieving members of the church to understand that you are a temple of God and then he will say , so we go to work, we go to work every day and I can tell you that it is interesting for me.
I've seen this happen and I know you have to do it, you know, we talk about, you know, oh, the terrible thing about our schools and all this is that there are all these clicks, you know, there are all these, what a click is is that people like-minded people end up coming together. Did you know the same thing happens in church if you have a little? complaining inside you guess who will be around you complainers this is going to happen and they are going to have and listen if you have a complainer around you I promise you they are having a profound effect on you you know, I told you before Proverbs where it talks about that and talks about what God hates and one of them is sowing seeds of Discord in the body and now I tell you, I have said it before, there is no need to criticize but the truth is this, if you have that in you, I am telling you that the enemy he'll say well hey let's get you here and the next thing you know you're with them you know I don't like the way they're doing it you know I don't and the next thing you know you've got a little pool and then What you think is that that's what everyone thinks, it happens everywhere, it happens all the time and, when it comes down to it, we must learn that what God tells us we must stay. away from those types of people, you also need to see yourself as a temple of God, that the focus of your life is the inner presence of God and that there is nothing impure that prevents him from being able to fully manifest in you. your life but how do we do that surrender to the cleansing of the spirit?
Verse 1 says this since we have these promises the promise of his presence is provision beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of body and spirit bringing Holiness to its fulfillment and the fear of God, so when we look at this there are a couple of things here which I just want to share with you first. It is a daily cleaning. I would ask you to raise your hand, but I'm not going to ask you how many of you have had. a shower, you know, or a bath, I remember, I'm sure it was like that, I'm too old to remember, but when my kids were around it was usually in high school, and ask him, you have to go ask him, did you take? a shower well, yeah, yesterday I don't know why I need to take one again there on Monday.
I did it, why do I need that kind of thing again? And then you know, you know, if they did it, then you have to say: did you do it? use soap they just wander around there I guess I don't know look what it says since we have these promises beloved, let's cleanse ourselves from all contamination of the body and spirit bringing Holiness to its fullness in the fear of God that will allow us to cleanse ourselves and I'm just going to tell you this is the word that is used there, it is in What is called the active subjunctive?
The subjunctive verb means this. I told you this before that in Greek there are verbs that are called indicative verbs and then you have the subjunctive Bourbon and when it is subjunctive it means that it is something that is a possibility, it is something that you should do, it does not say that you are doing it or you did it or else that says you should do it in this and then then it is active in the sense that it has within it a continuous active reality in your life, so it is something that you must do and it must be a continuous and continuous activity in your life, that makes sense?
So every time he says, let's get clean, that's it. why I said it is something we do daily it is something we must come daily for the Holy Spirit to cleanse us it should be a daily activity Luke 9 23 says this and he told everyone if anyone wanted to come after me, let them. he denies himself and then notice how he says it here in Luke 9 and he takes up his cross daily and follows me. I found it in my own heart. I will take the cross from him on Sunday, sometimes on Monday. I really don't want to, in fact.
I have found that every time I have been to a place where God has used me spiritually, I am exhausted in it and my natural inclination is to go. I'm just too tired. I don't want to do it today or something. and man, that's why whenever I talk about reading your Bible every day I hope you know when I say I'm not trying to force some kind of legalistic idea, I'm telling you that it's a necessity. I told you this. that I can feel it when I don't spend time with God in his word I can feel it in my spirit there is just a I don't even know how to explain it it's just a difference I'm not there I can feel the difference and then it's not only a daily cleansing but We also see here that it is a total cleansing, it is a total cleansing again, it says this since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves, look at this from all contamination. of the body and the spirit, then they are all the impurities, but they are not only those that we know in the body, they are also the impurities of the spirit, we have to say, you know what I want God to work within me, a total cleansing .
I have found in my life that the most difficult cleansing that the Holy Spirit has to do to bring Holiness in me is not to prevent me from drinking and smoking, it does not prevent me from, you know, cursing, but it does have to deal with pride, arrogance, has to do it. deal with false, maybe false, teachings that I have had, that I had accepted or had and that allowed me to think a little bit and he has to deal with those and those are difficult, those are the most difficult, you say, brother David, right ? proud, of course, and you too, we all have that in America, but I tell you, when it shows up in me is when you know I may be doing pretty well and then someone says something that makes me angry and, uh, it just gets up. , I don't know how to say it, I have a little anger inside me because God has to kill, so I just discovered the way the Holy Spirit does it, he just brings me, I don't know how.
Call it anything other than angry situations, I don't know what to call it, you already know, and I've told you before. I know some of you are probably scared to death to drive around me because I tell stories about my driving, but uh, I think there are a lot of guys that I don't know how many women have that, but it's just, you know, probably the biggest annoyance I've had this

morning

is when someone is first in line at a traffic light and decides this. It's a good time to go and text all my friends and I'm already in sixth place, the light turns green and I'm looking at it thinking, are they waiting for the pole to turn green?
I don't know what they're waiting for. not the shade of green, they have decided to go ahead and of course they are going to go and they go right out there, the second one is running to get out, the third one is running, the red light gets a ticket and here I will have to sit again and you can tell he does what he does in there again so honestly I had to do it today I mean today I had to do this I had to start praying for that first person in other words I was praying for a blessing, not to bless them.
I was praying for a blessing to possess them and, but this is what I found, that is what the Holy Spirit wants to deal with. That's where he'll go with me. I don't have the problem of driving next to liquor. tent and wanting to enter and he says don't do it, but I have problems in my heart that want to break because he wants Holiness in my life first Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 23-24 now that the God of Peace that means Shalom. not only do you know that we have talked about this before May the God of Peace Himself sanctify you completely and may your Holy Spirit and soul and body be cut off blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ whoever calls you is faithful, he will certainly do so as we surrender to the work of the spirit of God bringing Holiness within me he will do it Spirit soul and body he wants me ready for that day he wants me to walk that way Hebrews chapter 12. verse 14 says this effort for peace with everyone and look at this and for the Holiness without which no one will see the Lord again.
I know some people may say that Holiness is out of fashion. Holiness is optional or maybe even Holiness is not attainable, but if you look at the chapter of Hebrews. 12 14 the way the prayer is structured we're supposed to be in this he's telling us to strive for two things strive for peace with everyone and strive for holiness that's how it's written grammatically and then you know what i I tell you every day that I have to start Ephesians 4 22-24 put off your old self, which belongs to your old way of life and is corrupted by deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind and to put on the new appearance of the self. in this created in the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness, so as Paul speaks to you here, he is preparing them, he is trying to reestablish the church, it had been ruined by false teachers and false teachings by influential people who were ungodly. and they had entered the church, in other words, they were members of the church but they were not members of the Kingdom of God and they were poisoning the flock and in fact they poisoned the flock to keep them away from the pollen, which is what I have discovered that most Fake people in churches do everything they can to attract people, which of course is usually the case, and this is what I've seen, not everyone who doesn't like the preacher is lost, okay?
I'm not saying don't go there. Many people don't like the preacher who is saved and maybe it is the preacher who is a problem, but I have found in my life and in my ministry that there have been people who have done it. I don't know what I'll say. I'm going to be careful outside, but that means they're going to sneak in like the New Testament says and poison the flock and what happens is people don't even know why they don't like me, they just think you know maybe it's time to go. to another church and hopefully when they go to the other one, they will intervene and continue to grow in the Lord, but if they go to the other one.
They don't need that person who influenced them to poison them, go to them, that's the worst thing that can happen and I've seen that happen in churches and I've seen it happen with people and what he's telling you here is he's saying: I'm getting ready to come and we have to restore your faith and that's why he's been telling you what faith needs to be restored, what kind of leader you should look for and then he says okay it's time for you to do something. ask the Lord who is around me who is a member of the church but does not yet know Jesus I need to get away from them because they are a danger to me and the spirit of God in me and then I need to see in myself personally that I am the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
I am the temple of God. I don't need to let in any old garbage. I don't need to be putting idols in the temple. of God and then third I need to literally daily and totally surrender myself to the cleansing work of the holy spirit. Amen, okay, let's pray together, so Lord, we thank you for your word, we thank you Lord that you desire holiness in us first of all because, like our father, you are holy second because of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us and is here for the purpose of separating us, purifying us and preparing us for an eternity in a holy heaven now, Lord, we all know we still have.
Sinful natures, we are all still prone to sin, we have what I have, what we all have, but Lord, I also know that we cannot use that as an excuse to live ungodly, so Lord, I pray for all of us, Holy Spirit, I pray for than you even in our lives and I don't know anyone who does that, but if there is someone in our lives who claims to be a Christian and yet follows these ungodly paths, I pray that you would simply prick our hearts for the purpose of protecting us. We parted ways, but I pray that we would all see ourselves, not just people on the way to heaven, but temples of God dwelling in the USA, and as a result, Lord, we would just surrender to you, so Lord, I pray for the blessings of your kingdom upon us the rest of this week and into the weekend and beyond and father, we pray all this in the name of Jesus, amen foreigner foreigner foreigner
