Apr 22, 2024
Wow, it's such a simple but powerful idea, isn't it really lovely? We thought we'd give it a try. We have two

photographs

of key moments in each of our

lives

, so Kelly, do you want to go first and tell us what it is? What will happen here will be this year, at the end of this year it will be 20 years since I won Athens, which is yes, but this particular race is quite significant because since I was 14 I wanted to become an Olympic champion and I saw Sebastian Co win the 1500 meters. I had already won the 800 uh in this circumstance and my 1500 meters was the last one and winning that was obviously more than a dream come true because it's what people don't see behind the victory and the Olympic athlete, you know, the years of the years. of pain, tears, set

back

s, all to chase this kind of dream you think you have.

I was also the oldest woman at 34 to win 34, so it was significant, obviously, I think more so because it was 20 years of dreaming and 12 years. of trying and then crossing that line and it's a moment that you can't put into words because people say well, how it felt, but when you do it after so much hope and trying, you almost can't believe it. So when I won the 800 meters, I still to this day can't believe I won the 800 meters at the Olympic championships. You know, I saw it a million times. I have it. I'm not going to give it

back

, but you know? and yes, that was something that one cannot even imagine, you see, but behind that we have another photograph that is a little more personal.

I think so, there you have it, so this, the lady on the left, is my PE teacher Debie Page and the three girls are my best friends from the first day at school and they remain my best friends to the today, but the thing is that with my physical education teacher I don't think I would have become an Olympic champion without her because of what she gave. For me it was a feeling of hope and self-confidence as a child, Debbie, yeah, and you know, because I wasn't academic at all in school and the only reason I went to school was for sports, P.E. and my best friends. because we were kind of like the Misfits at school and um well, I think what I'm most proud of is keeping those long-term friendships, but also they all came in my homecoming parade when I came back from the Olympics and was the first person I called when I got back to Britain to say thank you, so yeah, they mean a lot to me, so love is fantastic right?

I have pictures of me with Jake, me with Kira, me with Shane, but when they said, 'Do you have a picture of you and your kids?', it took me a long time.

I have a lot of family photos with everyone in it and then I found this photo and I thought it melted my heart because it summed up us, you know, like Shane getting mad at me, Jake pretending to laugh hysterically like Denise's comical laugh that you do, and Kira sitting there saying, please get. these guys and this woman away from me and um and you know because they're the kind of reason for me everything I do I oh it's so cheesy and please get sick if you want um but everything I do I do for them you know and they You have kept me in everything you know, sweetheart, take everything and it is always my children who have helped me get ahead and all the family problems that I have had, you know, with illnesses and things like that, they are the ones who keep me go ahead, so yeah, it's beautiful, but the next image, um, which is a disgusting image, but it's, um, when in the first few months or the first year I was in this WOW 2005, um, it first appeared in 99 and then in 2005, yeah, I was kind of a full-time

I'll be grateful, but I had had some parties the night before. Anyway, I felt a bit hungover when I walked in and they said, "well, obviously, as this is a new lead in the series, we don't want another Jordie because we've got Robson Green and Rosie arguing, so I changed my accent and said, I'm from Wigan and my friend from Wigan was outside Rose and I completely sold a whole identity, I said I'm from Wigan in bold like that and poor Rose would never be able to go get a job because I had completely stolen her identity and then. , of course, Robson and Jerome had the big hit and then I did the "you don't have to say you love me" single straight at 23 and straight away the following week, but I had a single on the charts, the next photo I think. which is from my dear late mother, Annie, and the reason I want to show this
