I Tried The New Logitech Keyboard... (So You Don't Have To.)

May 18, 2024
Literally thousands of people

have

said this

keyboard

is terrible, except there's only one problem and that's that none of them

have

tried

it. Yes, that's what I'm here for. Hi, I'm a tech hippot and I

tried

the Logitech Pro x60, so don't do it. Not necessary, congratulations Logitech, you did your research well, you didn't have to do that. I don't like it when my keyword rings when I'm not typing it, but I know what they're thinking. Logitech is a great company. they have millions of dollars, there's no way they can make a bad

keyboard

, well let's just say I'm not just going to look at the keyboard, I'm also going to look at their stupid marketing claims because wow, all in the hopes of finding out if Logitech is a scam.

Players like whether this is just a cash grab they didn't do any research on or they just accidentally released a product from 2018. Stick around because it's a little bit of both. I hate the way you work, the way you talk. I hate the way you dress now, you're probably wondering, hippo, why have you gathered us all here today? Well the story starts with a very large out of touch corporation making a lot of very crazy marketing claims and it's actually very important to look at them before looking at the keyboard itself, oh did I mention there was a tweet and this tweet, Let's just say it blew up a little bit, but for completely the wrong reasons, hey Jamie, could we watch the clip please?

More Interesting Facts About,

i tried the new logitech keyboard so you don t have to...

Oh yeah, in this video they make a A couple claims that they say this board was designed with professionals, so please let's keep that in mind. They say it's designed to win, whatever that may be. That means I'm a little confused at the moment. Optical switches, oh no, why now? You're probably thinking, oh hippo, they're just making some marketing claims, everyone does that, but there's a press release and oh my god, we've got to get to that, don't worry about that incredibly disappointing promotion, the internet blew up, y'all they call them. clowns, they say it's too expensive, some people say it's clean and it cooks.

However, I'm not sure those people have tried a keyboard before, but the vast majority said rubbish, so I thought, well, it's a gaming keyboard, it may be expensive, but it may not be that expensive and then I saw this price of $179 for a gaming keyboard. Well, yeah, I mean it's actually not that expensive if you provide the right experience. I'm talking top quality metal chassis, well-lubricated switches, great software, great hardware, great support throughout. yards, but based on what other people say, I think the actual experience might be a little different, so I immediately had to go and add the cart and I'll see you in a moment.
i tried the new logitech keyboard so you don t have to
Oh yeah, you're probably thinking, "Okay, hippo." I'm going to look at the keyboard, but wait because among the keyboard images we will also reference the press release. Remember we talked about this earlier because Logitech's marketing people were working overtime to potentially polish some shit or maybe it's really good. I don't know, we'll talk about that soon, so now that we have the box, I have to look back and see what everyone else has said about this random thing. Frank P said it's basically a bunch of uh dookie r ROM Twitter Commenters said they're clowns for even releasing this thing and wait, that's a really nice carrying case guys.
Now I'm clearly questioning things because there is a really nice carrying case, the rest of this unboxing experience is going to be premium. and it includes a ton of accessories and for $179 that's exactly what I would expect now if you're new to keyboards and not really familiar with custom keyboards or anything like that. Number one, run away, please stay safe. Keyboards are too good, this will ruin everything for you, but number two custom keyboards have gotten so much better in the last few years, as if what was once considered a good value 3 years ago is now a total rip-off like this dongle that copies the wireless um no I just didn't have a good transition there but I'll talk more about that when it's relevant later with a wireless dongle and a single glow through the key cap oh can't forget the cable can't forget what to expect is that I like it like there's no key, lid switch, guys, there's nothing extra in the box, there's me, I didn't miss anything, wait, seriously, you're kidding right, there's no accessories like no other.
You've given me a cable, but I feel like that's the minimum, if this is professional then I'm going to want to customize it. I want a switch pull and a key pull. I mean the carrying case. A big step in the right direction, but you missed the easier things they researched. That's definitely a fluke and won't be the focus of this video, so let's take a look at the keyboard. I'm so excited this is probably really professional and holy crap it looks so cheap now that I know Logitech is a In fact the g502 lightspeed is probably the only mouse I'll ever use because of one thing: the scroll wheel infinite, so sometimes it's about that feature that can make a product for you, but when you think of Prof profal, you usually think of the best, like the pros, they are the best at games, they deserve the best and, what?
Why do they lack respect for this quality of construction? Professionals demand the best. team to improve your competitive game the 60% keyboard shape pack blah blah blah blah they are saying this is the best keyboard for professionals excuse me which professionals did they design this with and have they ever tried a keyboard before? It's crazy. He states that you could have said that we want high quality. I don't even know, but this is already crazy. They are already saying that it is the best for professional players. Now I know a lot of professional players and a lot of them don't.
They don't really care about their keyboards or their hardware as much as they just want something that works reliably, so maybe that's what they were doing, so the build quality here is about as disappointing as a plastic keyboard for $180 in 2024 it's legitimately unnecessary unless we're talking about solid polycarbonate material that no gamer would care about, but guys, this is no-compromise performance, you're not compromising anything here, which is why they went with cheap feeling buttons and a Basic plastic chassis, you know when you do something wrong. and your parents tell you H I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed, well I'm angry, what are you guys thinking?
But that's not all, because maybe the switches are redeemable, maybe the typing experience is great, maybe there's something else under the hood. I don't know about that, yeah, let's take Logitech at its word and go to their investor relations press release. Logitech, a leading innovator in gaming technologies and equipment, announced the lightning-fast Logitech G Pro X, a compact, professional-grade keyboard that frees up valuable space. to meet the changing needs of professional players. I mean, yeah, congratulations Logitech, you figured out what a 60% keyboard is, that's revolutionary, no one's done it before. Hey Logitech, you know you're not the first person to make a 60% keyboard like you.
He is not the first person to make a 60% keyboard. It's not revolutionary that you made the keyboard smaller now, you have to give it credit. They did use metal for the plate on this, which is where all the switches are located, except there's no credit for them. Its entire board is incredibly stiff like there is no play, there is no give, it is not soft, unlike the side volume knob, which you know at 10 points. I love these side volume knobs. 10 points, now you're probably wondering, hippo, they're already down. kicking them, stop kicking them, well no I'm going to keep kicking because these double shot PBT keycaps are incredibly cheap and you see the huge gap between them which means they are very thin, they also have crooked keycaps and a very glossy poor. which we'll go through later and you're probably wondering, hippo, why are you being so mean to this brand of games?
And part of that is because there's a lot of potential here for a big gaming brand to come in and just make a better keyboard like Asus has tried, Razer has tried, I guess, and Logitech has given us these switches, wait, right? Were they supposed to be tactile? They were supposed to be tactile, right, right, Jamie, can we get the clip of that one? Add to cart Add to cart add to cart now this board comes with two different switch options, a linear one and a tactile one. Now the touch ones are supposed to have a physical bump when you press them, although the bump on these doesn't really feel existing at all, think of the standard Cherry MX Brown, where you press it and get a hint of resistance and nothing more, but it's good because you can just take them out and replace them and it's no big deal and god no, Logitech didn't just go with an optical switch which to be fair is a really great style of switch.
They have opted for a completely closed ecosystem. You cannot replace these switches with your favorite Cherry MX style switch. You can't even replace these switches with your favorite iCal op style switch. This is the least professional. way to make a keyboard customizable, um, making it not customizable at all, in this case the only feature that makes this product not these switches. I'm not really sure why Logitech decided to go with optical switches, that's a bit complicated here, but it's not really doing them any service, if you want to use other switches with this you can't, it's the most unprofessional thing I've ever seen, unless we're talking Pro by Apple standards, because they really don't.
I don't like any form of integration, on top of that the switches also feel and sound terrible, but we'll talk about that later now as this is a gaming keyboard so we need to have RGB which unfortunately looks really terrible, like what I do now. I am a player. I love RGB and this RGB is quite disappointing. It's not very bright. It doesn't really do the job. All keys have just a shade to their brightness, especially these larger keys. It feels really cheap now as I reviewed the RGB. I also had to check out the Logitech software and wireless connection.
This keyboard is wireless, and I honestly have no complaints. I have been using Logitech software for my g502. BTW what's my favorite mouse let me know if you want a video on that over the last few years and I'm by no means a software power user but I've used it for Mac re-binding, key lighting control blah blah , blah, and me. I haven't had any software errors, so honestly, Logitech gets a software pass from me, especially since it's not like Chinese malware or something. Now one thing I would have preferred for their keyboards is for there to be more macro layers available because it looks like there are only three but maybe I missed something in my quick look at the software but overall it's excellent, well my first grain of hope It has been ruined.
These key caps are really terrible and the brightness actually hurts them because there are huge hot spots. every time they have the RGB working I seriously wonder if they did any work to make a keyboard to 2024 standards, oh yeah okay we woo, we woo, new problem, look how much this thing wobbles when I type and move. the keys there shouldn't be as wobbly, especially with box stems, which are typically the least wobbly stems on keyboard switches. Don't worry, we'll come back to that later, but you're probably wondering, hippo, what a gaming keyboard is like. Does it work for real games?
I used it for the last 7 days for gaming and it is a keyboard. They have that going for them, but let's do a quick summary if they were trying to be the best gaming keyboard you would have chosen. with a Hall switch like on the problematic keyboards, although those keyboards won't make everyone a better gamer, if there is someone who is trying to optimize every little use of their peripherals then Hall is really the only way you should go and if I would just like a really solid switch that the vast majority of people could use, there are literally thousands of different mechanical switches that would provide impeccable gaming performance and that would also provide wonderful gaming performance, because why would you want a game on a switch that you just feel?
I feel worse, especially if you play for huge amounts of hours that we don't need. I will not say. I won't do it. I don't look at my RuneScape hours. That will be bad for anyone. Okay, maybe I'm crazy. This thing will magically make me better at gaming because it's a professional gaming keyboard, right, ah, well, that's actually a really interesting new development. If you are someone who gets angry during games, this might be the worst keyboard for you because of how obscenely loud, it is due to the terrible tolerances of the switch and the keyboard cap, if you drop this keyboard it just starts pressing random buttons , ofdone oh mine just went out just from dropping it randomly so between the dropping issue and the noise issue i think.
There is a serious problem here with these switches and that is my experience here, I personally don't find any redeemable qualities in this keyboard that would make me recommend it to someone else, but maybe I'm too biased, maybe I'm too in my own element I need a second one opinion, so I made Josie sick. I need you to try this keyboard, okay? And then what do you think of it? I think I don't like it when my keyword makes sounds when I'm not typing in it. oh you notice the noise, yeah I don't like it, it looks really cool, I don't like the way it sounds but I like the base, I mean, It looks nice, there are some redeeming qualities, yes, but what if I told you the price? $79 us, here's the keyboard that's half the price, what would you say is higher quality?
Well, I mean, I love a good metal case, this one is really nice, I like the little symbol on it, yeah, like those that sound nice, so in typical Josie style, she. I proved that yes, there are redeeming qualities to this and yes, maybe I'm a little blinded by hate. There might be some aspects of this keyboard that you might personally like. However, I want to say that everything this keyboard does, another keyboard does better and cheaper. or much better and a little more expensive. I can't help but wonder why they call this Pro. What were they thinking now?
I know this is mostly preference, but I really hate how the case stops and gives you this floating key cap. style because when I play I really like to rest my pinky against this side of my board and ultimately this feels quite uncomfortable, comfortable for long periods of play, as this is totally preferred and some people may really like this style, but to me this feels amazing. cheap to write on Game On to exist, is it professional? However, none of this makes you a better gamer than any other keyboard. In fact, I'd probably play a lot better on a keyboard I liked a lot better, and I know you.
You're probably wondering hippo, what's it like on the inside, what's it like if I modify it and literally all I have to say is it's not worth it, whether this was $30 or $50 or not, only about $50, so I would say it's worth it, it's worth it. something but this is like a gk61 but almost worse because it had a great brand behind it. I'm seriously scratching my head trying to think of what the board meetings around this could have been like because a team did this and they We're real people who have real lives and real research and this feels like the least exciting thing. that I've seen emerge from gaming hardware.
It seems like they cared a lot 6 years ago and that was it, nothing more, nothing later, so they were all right. To get this right, none of this is professional, the only thing that is professional is that you would be a professional idiot if you chose this one over the hundreds of other keyboards that will do the exact same thing, but are cheaper or better. It's amazing how much Logitech missed the mark here, especially considering how good the keyboard market is in 2024. Now you're probably thinking Hippo, you're overreacting or Hippo, there are some redeeming features on this board and I've tested hundreds of keyboards. and I can't tell you anything: this keyboard works better than any other software of that time, maybe, but that's very subjective.
Logitech G60 Pro Logitech G60 no, now I know what some of you are thinking and it's that good, that keyboard is actually much better. than my keyboard for those people number one, I'm sorry I made you feel that way and number two, I'm giving away this keyboard for just a dollar and you'll also want to hear this because I'm also giving you all $5 to spend on my new keyboard marketplace.
