You know, these teams can use some really cool stuff. tools, they can even use power tools like these, look at this, you know what it is, this is a wood router, oh, this is amazing, right here, this piece actually spins very, very, very fast and they slid along the edge of the wood and they actually make really cool shapes on the sides, it's amazing and they can use power drills.

Oh yeah, they have all kinds of different fasteners to attach the two of them together, so you can use this. That's great. Oh, and they can even use power saws like this one. they have big sheets of plywood that they have to cut, look at all those sharp teeth, oh that's cool, and you know they can use some cool hand tools too. I like this one, it's a hammer, you know, this is my favorite tool I can't wait to see this in action and of course you have to have correct measuring tapes. Oh yes, we have to make sure everything is measured accurately so it fits correctly.

Oh, and check out this amazing hand tool. This, do you know what it is? Actually, it is a wood planer. You hold it in your hand like this and at the bottom you will see a very sharp blade. What we do is we slide it across the wood and it actually removes a very thin layer of wood which makes it really precise. Oh, that's amazing. There are some really awesome tools here. You know, I can't wait to see these tools in action building all these amazing wooden boats. I know these things are really exciting. start building, did you know they have really important guidelines and plans to follow, like these here?

Check it out. Each team receives a set of plans that tells them the dimensions and all the numbers for how big and how small they need. to build things on their boat, oh, that's great, you know, they have four hours, only four hours to build their boats and they have a limited amount of supplies like this here, we have all this wood here. I hope it's the right tool and I have these sheets of plywood here, oh that's great, and they only have three tubes of sealants. It may be a little complicated, but I'm sure these teams can do a great job.

Well, oh look, oh look, this is coastal, oh yeah, look, cozy. It comes from the Coast Guard, even the Coast Guard is here, how are you, Coastal? Are you okay today? It's been great watching the teams build their boats. You know, I also had to build a boat, but not with wood or cardboard. good competition, look, I even have some of my material here, let's go to the

hop and get started, we're doing well, we go back to the workshop, we have some amazing material to build this cardboard boat, we have some cardboard tubes. that will come in handy soon oh yeah I hope it's easy let's get some cardboard oh I've got it I've got it I've got it I've got it it's a lot of cardboard but if you notice this thing called corrugated cardboard it's pretty strong but it's like the cardboard that we use for the boxes, oh come here, some of the other materials that we're going to use, we have some construction glue and a lot of it, we have some duct tape, we have a lot of that too. and some sweet orange latex paint, so let's set up our boat, let's get started, let's get some cardboard here now, the rules are actually very simple, right?

You can only use cardboard construction glue and tape, so we have to make it pretty thick so it doesn't. I think I certainly don't want to sink in that water, so let's set up our boat, look, here we go. I think it should be a good size, but let's shape it. We need a measuring stick and a pencil, so this will be the front part. from our boat, let's see here, we have to get to the center here, let's see 33 and a half, yeah. Okay, great, that's going to be here 16 and three quarters and then we'll go down about 15 inches on this side and 15 inches. on the side team there and we'll mark it here at the end, so we just need to connect the lines here, one at the top on the side, and this will actually mark the front of our boat, oh yeah.
