What your Lamborghini Salesperson should have told you when buying an AVENTADOR SVJ!

Mar 20, 2024
Hey guys Heather Valentine, you may remember that I did a video in the past with an utakan spider and I said it was about

what

your

seller

should

have

told

you. Well, today we are making a new version and I'm going to tell you

what

. Your salesman

should

have

told

you

when

he bought a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. I'm heather Valentine, a sales specialist and entrepreneur. Follow me and enjoy the ride, so

when

I deliver a car to a customer I always like to start with the exterior. I'm going to the front. back and then i worked my way in so today we will focus on the

lamborghini

aventador

svj as many of you know the sbj has what is called the allah system so this means aerodynamica

lamborghini

ativa so in It actually has electronic actuators that are going to give you high downforce or low drag and in fact I have had svjs and also performants with the wing system on the track and if you drive it back to back with a car that doesn't have it, actually It is a great benefit on the court.
what your lamborghini salesperson should have told you when buying an aventador svj
Especially if you drive aggressively at speeds of, say, 270 to 300 kilometers, it can really make a difference, so this is something that obviously people who like to track, are focused, like this, this is a benefit. to buy a svj or a perfomante, so I'm going to go to the driver's door, I'm going to open the door here and right below, if you were sitting where

your

left ankle would be, there's a trunk opening, so it's a big lever that you can not. I missed it and you probably heard it. I just dropped my trunk, we're going to go to the front and there's a lever here that you press and it'll pop up easily, so once we're in the trunk a lot of things happen.

More Interesting Facts About,

what your lamborghini salesperson should have told you when buying an aventador svj...

Of the things that come with SVJ, you'll notice right away, this is where the brake fluid would be, this is the windshield washer fluid if you need to top it off, for example if you drive in the winter because in Canada we drive all year round. round with Lamborghinis, so you can certainly top that off if need be. One of the most important things I always make sure customers know when I deliver a car is how to use the auxiliary battery, so on a v10 we connect directly to the battery, but on a v12 the 12 volts are actually enough and your dealer probably gave you an offer.
what your lamborghini salesperson should have told you when buying an aventador svj
We have the offer to deliver it new. This car just came off lease. It's got the label here for the stock number, but basically this just plugs in very easily to the clip here and it's like that, so you always want to do it when you deliver the car, plug it into the wall first and then the car, if you don't do it in In that order, the tenders will enter a trial phase and will not actually charge again. go to the wall first and then to the car, but that's how you would deliver the car if you were going to say go on vacation, maybe you know you're going out of the country for a while and you're not going to be driving for at least two weeks, so you just plug it in and I always leave the trunk slightly up so the cable can go down, it doesn't damage your car, it keeps the battery charged and ready so everything is fine, so let's get back to the other accessories in the car. you'll see this big bag here your manuals are here and there's also an air compressor for your tires there's white gloves if you want to get dirty most of the time with new cars we have roadside assistance so people don't really get into that but yeah Ever need it, I have used the tire compressor, it works great, we will get to this shortly, this is for your wheels for the center lock, this is a car cover that should come with your new car so you can also have it in the trunk and there are a lot of accessories in here, seat covers and steering wheel covers, some cars have that, some don't, it depends on the dealer if they order those things for you and then here is a welcome package for new cars.
what your lamborghini salesperson should have told you when buying an aventador svj
So this customer kept it in the car, which is great for the next owner. Sometimes when people buy a new car they don't always keep this stuff with it so this one is in very good condition like I said it just came off the lease and it's been kept immaculate so you'll see here there's a lot accessories that come when you buy the new car there's a USB adapter there's a microfiber to clean the screen here's a pair of gloves a towel and a nice leather bag here's okay, again You may or may not have been given this in the time of delivery, but there is one that practically covers what is in our trunk in Canada.
We require a front license plate depending on where you live. You may or may not see here. We have a special bracket that a designer had designed to act as a skid plate under the car, but it allows the plate to be removable, so let's say you're at a show or something and you don't want the plate to be seen, you can just open it easily. It turns off, but then when you're ready to drive, it turns on. It has a little clip so it's very easy to remove and they can be purchased through our parts department, like I said depending on where you live it may or may not be necessary. for a front plate but at least this way it doesn't get in the way of the classroom system and you don't have to drill the bumper to put the front plate on so let's keep moving around the car, let's check the wheels Okay guys, let's talk a little about this wheel.
I'm sure you've seen on other models the 5 bolts, this is the central locking, so there's a little tool that you can use to remove this cover. It's important to have this tool first, you would use this right to remove it, do whatever you need to do to change the tire, whatever you're doing and then you'd tighten it and then it's very important to use this, it slides in. here and this will lock it, so for security, that's a very important step, so again you don't want to lose this tool. Now let's talk about torque wrenches. This is pretty interesting, okay, this torque wrench would be in your five normal wrenches. bolt to tighten the lugs but with this car it takes 450 lb ft so you're dealing with this it's pretty important brake wise obviously with the sbj you have carbon ceramic these things are amazing they'll practically outlive you , the only. you may have to deal with their pads and that's if you keep them on for quite a while and you ride a lot, you know, tracking a lot, but even with our regular track days here, I've never seen a need for that, but we've only had them replaced. the tires because, you know, they moved aggressively all summer, so previously behind the driver's seat there was a release and you could easily open the engine hood, but with SVJ it is very beautiful, in fact, they took this of the centenary when I delivered that car.
I saw it during the first time you have two sets of keys that open the back here and this whole piece lifts up now it's very light you'll see the carbon so it's not heavy to take it off but it's a little bit cumbersome and I always suggest if you have a second person that you know will help you lift it up because that way you don't have to worry about damaging it or breaking it, but you do have to unlock it, lift it up and then you can access your beautiful naturally aspirated v12, i have my coworker Mark helping me so we're lucky to have this amazing position here in service but if you're at home you might want to build something or set something up or maybe you have some kind of flat platform they can sit on that's right as the hood is removed, well guys, now we can see the naturally aspirated 6.5 liter v12, of course, that's the beauty of Lamborghini at the moment, we can still enjoy it without the hood.
You'll notice this is where the coolant goes, this is the power steering, that's your oil and let me walk around and show you a couple things quickly, this is where you would power the car if you ever had a problem and this is the manual gas cap . release so if you ever need to know those things they are here so the gas cap is here like I said in my previous video you just want to make sure the car is off and unlocked all you need to do is press it and it will. open up um people always ask me if they have to have racing gas or something like that.
No, you only use the highest octane available at the pump, so again, whatever is premium, whatever is supreme, whatever they call it at the pump you go to, is absolutely fine. Put this hood back on and start with the interior, okay guys now we're on the inside. Normally, I would sit here on the side while the client sits here and give them kind of a lay of the land, but um. I'm going to go ahead and sit in the comfortable seat. Okay, so on the door you will see the master locks. You will also see the mirror adjusting the defrost and completely down will give you the possibility to fold it. the mirrors in, so you happen to have a tight garage and your parking lot, which I have to do when I bring the cars home, you can toggle down to the bottom center and that will force the mirrors shut tight and up will be your defrost . there's a strap on the door that's going to be the way you close the door and ironically you'd be surprised how many people ask me how do I get out so you'll see this silver lever here your finger slides in you're going to pick it up and just hit it a light tug on the door and it will open, so we certainly don't want you to get trapped in your new svj, that's how you're going to get out okay, so let's look at the direction here, one thing people. always ask me at night how do I know if my lights are on so you have the car here on the far left if you see this let me start the car if you see this lit up then you're fine your lights are on if I wanted to manually adjust the rest of the lighting that you will see here, you have the option to do that and this button here that is closer to the steering wheel will allow you to dim and brighten your dashboard, okay, let's say it's late at night and you want to quickly adjust it to be brighter, there is where you would access those options, okay so the steering wheel adjustment you have to reach for, it's manual, obviously they want to remove as many motors as possible to keep it light, but it's telescoping so you can get in and out. step back, do whatever you need to do once you have that set, push it back.
It's okay the paddles are nice and big, they obviously don't turn with the wheel which I prefer that you always know where they are so it's great if it says it wants to get to a start and accelerate your car you can pull both paddles to put it in in neutral and then obviously the right one will be for putting it into gear the left one will be for your downshift and you'll love the sound of the downshifts in the svj naturally aspirated v12 that's why we buy lambos okay so in the steering wheel you'll see the modes are here so this will adjust on your dashboard above the modes you can scroll and the volume can be adjusted here so you don't have to get close while you're driving and the voice command is here which I'm a big fan, it's always easier, you can tell the car what you need and what you want and again, you're not messing with the center console as you drive here by your right knee you'll see a CD player.
Yes, they still have CD players and you'll have SD cards here that can go in, so you can basically put more in. music that you could listen to on these two little SD cards if you wanted and keep it in the car and then you have all these buttons with the center console, which I'm happy to go over, but let's quickly look at the rear view. mirror here you'll see now it actually has a compass one of my clients my client was really excited about it so you can press it here to turn auto dimming on and off depending on whether you like that feature or not also in the center something that I always turn on when delivering a car seems silly but you'd be surprised how many people don't know the center button if you press uh if you're having dinner or whatever at night and you open the doors the lights will come on automatically so it's good to hold them down.
Obviously you can also manually adjust the lights on the other side and this will be for your home link. My assistant and I have scheduled thousands of workshops with the manual. will give you step by step instructions on how to do this. Definitely if you are

buying

a used car like this you want to remove any old codes or factory codes if it was never set and then you can press. and hold it down until it flashes, it's a pretty easy process, you get in front of the driver's headlight with the garage opener, you hold it down until the headlight flashes, the only time it gets a little tricky is if you have a rolling code and we have come across that quite often, in that case I would suggest having one person with the car and one person at the garage engine so they can activate it at the right time again.
It explains everything in its manual. I know, depending on your dealer and where you are located, I'm sure your

salesperson

will be happy to come and help you or a technician if he needs it. I know I've made thousands of them pretty normal whenreturn button and pair your new device, okay, so all that is in settings, now let's go to the radio, then the radio on the top right you will see the band that will give you the option between fm am and sirius, so yes you want to set your serious, you can go there. The presets are great, you can store them, I think there are like 50 places in here, there are a lot of them and you can jump between fm am and sirius. and sirius for your presets, so this one is nice and clean.
Nothing has been set up so that whoever buys this car can start from scratch. There's an old school tuner if you want to do that and then the sound is down here so you can adjust the treble and the bass. You can activate your gala equalizer and configure your volume settings. Okay, the media, so the media is here and if you look at the top right button, it's going to be your source button, so you'll see at the top there's a jukebox and then there's the SD that you saw earlier where I put the SD cards, uh DVD and ami, so if you wanted to plug in a device right here, you'll see and you could put your phone in there, that would appear here under ami, okay and again it'll hit you. sound to set the name right so once you plug in your phone and enter all your contacts you'll have a directory here so you can toggle if you ever need it and then there's a speed dial to call and then there's a memory button to your directory is not complete right now because I don't have a phone connected, but once you do, your directory will be completed and speaking of that phone, it is here, so this is where you will pair your phone and once you connect your cell phone, like I said, the whole directory will be populated with the name as well so you know that Apple Carplay is an option in the SVG, but you have to plug it in with an Apple cable.
Okay, so it doesn't work automatically, you have to plug it in, but once it's plugged in you can access the app and if you need help with Apple Carplay, I have a separate video where I focus on that with an Aventador, so I'll link to that. that in the description below so you can access that if you need to accept so we've talked about the return button and here at the bottom this is very important is your handbrake so unlike the v10s the Aventador does not have a parking mode. It's a single clutch car some people like to put the car in neutral and then set the handbrake.
I usually leave it first, it's whatever you prefer. I like to leave it first. Anyway, the car will automatically start in neutral later and then I'll put it in. your handbrake it is very important to set this handbrake the r is reverse this is here on your left and then on the right is the manual button so when you put a car in drive believe it or not, I always like to drive

aventador

s in manual I prefer to have control and shift myself, but there are people who like to drive automatics now, if you are one of those people who still have to pull the paddle to put the car in first, they will tell you, but I am driving in automatic mode, why do I have to pull the paddle?
But you always have to pull the paddle to put the car first. So if you want to drive in automatic, you can do it. This m button will allow you to enter and exit automatic mode. This actually holds. for manual so once you are in first you may see a little a indicating that you are a car and you don't have to shift with the paddles but if you want to be in manual you can just start paddling however the car it can still override your shifts, so if you want to explore the higher revs, you know, getting it closer to the redline, I would recommend pressing this button and putting it in a fully manual mode where you have full control and the car won't. override it unless you are getting close to danger then of course the car will protect itself but this is how you put the car into drive and then depending on the a or m displayed on the dash you will know if It was on automatic. or manual and remember that when you park you should put it in first or neutral, but put this handbrake on, especially if you are in neutral because the car can roll like an old school manual.
Alright guys, I just wanted to show you one. The last thing before you get out of the car again is that there's a release mechanism here for the seat right under the headrest, so if you had, for example, a roadster, this is a coupe that we're in, but you can pull the seat up. go ahead and that's where you would access your roofs okay so that would be the way you would free up the seat so I'm going to open this up for you guys it's a little secret that your

salesperson

may or may not have shown you but you can . remove this and if you ever can't get into your car because the battery in your key is dead, this opens up and you can access it right here, so your car should come with three keys that I just showed you in case you need to get in when the remote is dead if that ever happens but I will also show you how to start the car with these in case they are dead there is a way and it will even work with this fake key this can also be taken out and used like I showed you to get into the car, okay, and this will also start the car, so let me show you that now, so I'll show you with the wide shot first and then we'll do a close up. but basically you have a slot here, it's basically where your right knee would be under the steering and I always use the Lamborghini logo facing up, you literally just slide the remote in and it will start the car if your remote is dead, okay, so that's just a nice little secret that you need to know so quickly before we wrap up guys, I just want to address these two buttons.
You will see the one below. If they were going to tow the car and it was locked, they would need to disable or activate it. I'm sorry. You will see that it is now illuminated, so this will ensure that if you are towing the car it does not think that it is being stolen, also the one above if you ever left someone in the car and activated it. You would know that again you are not being robbed, so you can use them as needed. There is obviously more information about them in the manual if you want to read more.
Lastly, I just want to mention that the car should come in once a year for a service that doesn't matter if you've driven it or not, it should come in once a year, meaning you don't want old gas in the car, old oil, that kind of thing and if you drive at least 5,000 kilometers a year. So it's always good to service it if you store it in winter. I would recommend that you do the first maintenance in early spring, once you have taken it out of storage, that is always the best time. Alright guys, thank you so much for watching my video, I'm really glad to be able to provide you with this detailed walkthrough and delivery experience of the aventador svj as always.
