welcome to Crimson Qatar, welcome to MF Kick Bill,

taking

on a big bass drum

guitar

. I know because we built it here and made it amazing. I hope it is. I am tremendously excited about this build. I'm really enjoying it and if you're watching this in July 2018 you can win this

guitar

. You may very well have to pry it from my cold dead hands because I'm allowed to participate in the competition anyway. I'm at this stage with a finely sanded front. Can you imagine if I dropped the back? The shape of the plate has changed. I haven't made backplates yet, but I have something else planned for this episode.

From day one I haven't been sure what I was going to do on the front here. As for the color, now it looks a bit anemic, the silver look a bit aluminum II maybe because it is and I need everything to stand out and for that to stand out it needs to have a darker background and something interesting and the same goes for the circuit board lines if we have a stain on the wood that will allow that to look pretty impressive and the problem is I don't want to just take one or two colors and say okay here we go stain denim blue and you have a blue guitar with some interesting parts." I want to take two or three stains, probably including lemon denim blue, so basically we have crimson guitars, we have our own range of stains and finishes and all kinds of parts, guitar fishing oil will be the finish that We use a combination of oils penetrating and high thickness.

More Interesting Facts About,

ep 12 taking a great kit guitar and making it awesome...

I'm going to use alcohol based dyes because we also have a variety of water based dyes. I say this because somehow while I'm talking and I'm not moving. I'm actually thinking about my son, I think I got to the bank at one point, but anyway the plan is that I wanted to have a light gray wash or an alcohol stain on the maple, plus I wanted to have a possibly possibly a something dull, some blues, some reds and some purples, maybe even a small pinkish scratch that may not be a bit big. I don't know, we'll do a test and see, and then I'll drink some. of the stunning crimson shots that are the intensely concentrated stains and I will use a 200 year old drawing instrument to add various circles and lines and scribing marks and things superimposed on the circuit board layout and on the guitar and we have two possibilities, the possibility of First, it looks amazing and I'm even less likely to want to give this guitar away.

By the time I go down and have to sand it all down, at that point I'll probably have to redo some of the inlay too because I would have sanded quite a bit and I want to avoid that if possible and as a result I have a piece of maple but it frames my face perfectly , so the flamed maple I sanded finely on both sides and now I'm going to experiment. whatever the finish, whatever color you want to do, whatever, try it on a piece of wood before you leave and you're 100% sure of what you're doing, always experiment and that's what the video is about today, to play with color, okay?

I have my wood in place, what I don't have yet are gloves, wait, don't move, stay there, most of the stains are fine, the cherry red looks for several days as if you have been, you go violent, no , I do not do it. It's not like that, sir, just the only habit now what I want to do is to have the black spirit from base to stone as a base in this half here in this start with that and immediately we have an incredible ending and of course I can see where not I've sounded absolutely perfect, so what I've done there is I've got the spot on that side.
I have a cleaner section right away. I rub off any excess to help reduce blooming and artifacts we don't do. I don't especially want to now that they have it I also love the fallow blue and I'm thinking it might work even better as a base for the blue, but I also wanted to see how it looks over the black now that we have it. We're building a cyberpunk guitar and when you think of technology and all that, you think of blues, blues, Silver's and neon. Do you know how neon works? Neon colors take on their normal color, for example, they will reflect more blue light. than anything else and that is blue, neon blue has blue, but it takes UV color and then transfers the UV light to visible light and makes the blue twice as visible.
You didn't need to know that, but I like it anyway, it already looks like a I finished that, yeah, from black to blue and we didn't do any more experiments, let's go home. Greetings, okay. I'm not sure. We have multiple different options here, so here's the guitar you could make. I could try and have a traditional sunburst where I have a sort of black burst around the edge that turns blue in the middle and I particularly like this burst from black to blue. I'm thinking of adding a little purple over the black at this end, another option could be We've faded a lot like that piece of wood where it goes from black to blue at the top and then I'll do something to continue the fade on the pegbox.
I've done a similar finish before in the construction opening of another kick. but it's still pretty traditional, something else could be and everything else on this guitar is pretty unique. It could have black in the middle potentially fading to blue at the edges or vice versa and then you have a stripe of one color on the back. Did you see the guitar strap? There we go professional that's me, that's going to be an amazing pink, let's see, I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone. I want something particularly interesting now, if you've seen me, it was surprisingly difficult for Terran, huh? there we go so pink on black and finish with a purple so you can see the unique stain, the gray Atlas is actually relatively boring once you go with it with another color, so for example we went pink there and just for interest. sake too and that's erasing some of the blue and transposing it as it becomes more purplish blue.
I prefer that, but I want to use that bright blue somewhere, but yeah, the purple and black work pretty well, always shake them before you do it. play now the other idea what's the idea at least if you've seen the nebula guitar that we have it's a very very interesting build that it's based on it's got the top facility that's cool distract me okay so that's yellow the top of the nebula that I'm sure is on your screen right now is poplar and it's given us a particularly interesting palate to play with and what I did was create a sort of galaxy style starscape finish and that was relatively easy because It was all kinds of pearls.
I'm wondering if I can do the same thing here and we potentially have the basic pop, although the more I talk, the more I talk, the less I like the idea and that's why we're now experimenting with red, for example, if you go. to France my syringes I don't know I don't know I started looking at Missy from black to blue with the pink on the black it's actually just stunning we're done so you can see how the blue I put it on the the black fades in In a way, we can make a convincing sunburst that way, yeah, I like it, it's pretty simple, pretty straightforward, I prefer that, okay, but it's just the beginning now that I have this, which is a cool tool, so I do it. that we have Here's an

awesome

pair of dividers that come off both legs and one turns into a pencil, believe it or not, and the other a dividing head, but this head is a scribing tool and the two little blades have a little screw that adjusts how it's open or closed and the two little blades pick up ink or in this case, pick up some of our

awesome

stone shots.
This one is actually a little too thick. Now I need them, well they're all A little bit, do you think I actually need to thin them out, but this one is closer to the top, so the two sheets hold the ink between them and then you can use it as a compass or describe lines. There was a nail there. there or something like that and it creates a very interesting effect, doesn't it? Yeah, it's really fun, it's really just amazing, this is the blue, what's the blue, actually, this is our royal blue and it's the one I've already settled on.
So you see, that's already too thick. Can you even see it? You can see? It's actually pretty cool. Now this one has a beveled edge and if I have the bevel down and it follows the edge like this, then we won't get it. any crossover, so we have a big drip there, which is problematic mainly because when you apply the finish later, it will dissolve. I really want fine lines, in fact I'm still worried about whether or not this will dissolve later on. Anyway, there's the blue one, make sure we don't have too much on and then it's a case of so I'm not being too precise right now, I'm just playing around, just look at that so we can straighten it out just as easily. to go out like that and do something crazy, I mean, it's an interesting tool, what I'm thinking is that kind of effect, although much more geometric and precise, so, for example, we go three-quarters of the way through that circle and we make a pac-man basically and then you have some lines that go from the center to the edges, some of them go on, you can't let it dry.
I think the idea I have is valid and will work, but for this guitar it may not be correct. I just started thinking about pyrography. This feels a bit like pyrography. I like to play. I like to do things that other people don't usually do with guitars. I think I want some of these shapes on this instrument. It's been the plan from day one. but not to that point. One day I'm going to make a guitar where all the sunburst is built from lines like this and circles and bits and pieces and then we'll start playing with geometry and stay that way for now through this transition from Black and Blue and purple is where I go.
I'm going to let this cure and then see what happens when I put an oil on it in a couple of days because that's part of the experiment, but for now I'm going to approve this bench offer and let's stain the actual guitar. I really shouldn't go all over the guitar, no I shouldn't because I haven't done the back plates and the back plates will be stained to match the guitar, surely you can stain them later right? Why yes, kind sir, of course I can? Okay, thanks for talking about that, who needs to be smart, think about the future, no, no, me. cough, cry, okay, fresh tissue down, I don't see any stains on the mat below, so nothing has transferred.
Now I'm going to apply the stain, I'm going to polish it and do some limited experimentation. I made it before that and buffed enough of the tint from the silver to really make it shine and pop. Some of the aluminum foil will need to be replaced in the hexagonal sound holes. I was hoping that during the sanding mom would make that decision during the sanding. In the process, what we're going to do is hit this with some sandpaper off camera and I'm not going to call it a racing stripe, but I want to make a burst that I haven't seen on a guitar and I'm going to make it happen. from blue to purple with the blue stripe in the center of the bomb and then the purple bursting into a straight stripe and I think it will look different enough but at the same time traditional enough, so yeah, okay, that's how it will be. interesting or it's going to fail fortunately but I think it will look I think it will look good I think it's good can you tell I'm nervous?
There are some parts of this build that I'm excited about. I can grab a chisel. and just cut it out and I'm really okay with that, it's not a problem. I would do so well, that's what I do, stay outside my comfort zone, which is really strange because it's pretty simple and straightforward, but I'm nervous, so the other consideration is that I have this bezel here and I don't know what do about it. Not really. I might leave the maple bit. I could stain the maple bit and leave it mahogany, which would be a struggle. I could leave the piece of maple completely clean and I have a strip of clean maple there that could look pretty good.
I could tint that blue and have a ruler that actually sounds pretty cool, so the bezel could be blue, the outline will be black and then we'll have the blue. in the middle again and then I'll have to do something interesting with them, the mahogany or possibly a stain, all the mahogany, everything gets a layer of blue and then we just have certain smaller dots that have a black color. You think you think it doesn't matter because I'm asking you after having done it I still don't know what I'm going to do and here we have it all done no, not done in the least okay stop and think stop and think always stop and think how about Maybe you can think of something even better What I'm going to do This may surprise you I'm not choosing the easy path The path I've chosen is long and difficult and it may not work I should have been a preacher, okay Brimstone and fire, okay , as they just described to me about 30 seconds ago.
I'm going to have a blue stripe in the middle that fades to purple at the edges. Okay, a very quick test on some mahogany with the blue, the blue partner. This is the first time I've seen a thinner blue that looks like dog food, it's not attractive. The easiest way would be to just make a whole guitar part generously blue and then make the pieces purpleon the edges and everything is fine. well and it's purple or blue and stuff, when we're done, it's easy. I have these fantastic bevels around the edge, we have a calf and then we have a hard edge in the corner that goes to a chamfer and goes to a hard edge. then going to the edge of the guitar and the same around the champions lend themselves very well to precision staining, except for the fact that here and on the cutaway I have a visible body wood, but this is not going to deter me from what What I want to do is very carefully apply blue to the fake fur where the two halves of the body meet to delineate between those two things.
Then I'll probably cover it with shellac or something to make it black. the stain doesn't get in there or just be very, very, very careful, see stressful, okay, so I'm going to very carefully stain the hard edges of the champions with more blue, okay, doing my best to avoid staining the mahogany what is it. in that same line of shampoo it's going to be relatively easy here as long as I don't bleed and if I don't have too much on my paper I should be fine, I'll be fine, I'm fine, it's all good. I'm not fine anyway so that's the plan, if all goes well we will have blue lines shooting through bright blue lines that will go through and around the entire guitar within another burst that will come out of it and we will have the blue and the purple and like that I look amazing if I don't do it right, we're back to thinking about the dogs and dinner again, aren't we?
What do we want from dogs? Naughty myths When do we want them? Now put that on a t-shirt. It's okay, it's going to be okay. It's going to be good It's going to be the dogs hanging It's going to be nice and I'm not doing it today I'm going to reflect on this and reflect on this over the weekend and then I'll start filming again like I need something else to stress about. okay, thanks for watching, thanks for being totally awesome, thanks for supporting this video, this series, if you're watching this and you haven't seen our other thousands of videos, go back and watch some of the previous ones for a laugh because things have changed .
