Mar 17, 2024
The

pack

you see here is just one of the best

pack

s that I like, in my opinion, it's not too light, but it's the

assault

pack from the USMC pack, uh, item number, there's a big line there, basically, after that they went back to Philby or the ilb, whatever it is, this was the

assault

pack, it was redesigned, it has proper padding, it's not amazing, it's not the latest or greatest, it's not everly stock or anything like that the style, but it was an add-on to the main pack which actually was It's good because this is considered a patrol pack where the other pack is considered a patrol base pack, okay or uh if you're on a remote or something like that like that forward operating base you would have all your gear there and then this is what you would go patrol so it was redesigned which is good because it had the old Ilb backpack uh and that thing was gross because it was basically some sheet and some trash on the side, it was just terrible, but this one is pretty. well it comes in coyote, you can still find them.
usmc filbe assault pack 72 hour emergency bug out bag
I'll see if I can find them on Amazon. It has Molly straps on the side and it has extra bags that if you want to buy, you can put them on the side and it would bring. the bags outside, sorry, take the pack size out a little bit more and along one side, so how you can pack this bag up here is more of an admin bag again that was part of the pack that was an extra. okay it doesn't come it just comes with this bottom piece here and it comes with this one here really nice zippers they have sealable zippers or water I don't want to say waterproof but I mean watertight It has this nice rubber seam on the top and what it does is it Allows water to drip and not seep into your equipment.

More Interesting Facts About,

usmc filbe assault pack 72 hour emergency bug out bag...

It has two sides for a water bladder that I'm using here or if you need it as a radial bag, you can use that and put the antenna through the top webbing bags on the side one, two, three, four, there's four and then if necessary you can clip something on the bottom, okay this is a basic starter pack. right, it works great, it has a waist strap, nothing fancy, there's no padding or anything, you just buckle it up, right now, this is an addition to my Minuteman gear, okay, and I'll talk about that in a minute, uh, my Minuteman gear won't be in my vehicle, it'll be somewhere safe, so if I need it, I take this pack as my sustainment bag and then I have my war gear, it's that simple, okay, They added a little. more padding and this is for your spine, uh, so it doesn't get ruined when you're fucking with this backpack, this backpack right now, as it's loaded, it weighs about 40 pounds, okay, it's not light, I'd like to lower it to around 25 however it's winter or winter it's fall and winter is coming so there's a lot more winter gear here than would normally be okay so if you took some of the winter cure with your gear outside, it would be a lot lighter, but you know what they say pack slightly frozen at night exactly, so I just wanted to have a little more comfort or winter kit items inside this bag in case I have to grab it and leave, I know I won't freeze.

Fuck my ass, okay, so what I'm going to do is now that you guys see the package, what I'm going to do is take everything out, put it on a nice table here so you can see it and we. I'll go through the whole kit, okay guys, I was able to get everything out of the package like I said. Believe me, this isn't one of those videos where I add extra junk and while I'm off screen, off screen or something, it's actually I took everything out and one thing I want to mention is that if it doesn't fit in the backpack , it doesn't fit in the backpack.
usmc filbe assault pack 72 hour emergency bug out bag
I see a lot of videos where people put extra bags on the side and then Obviously you've never been in the military, you've never gone camping or hiking, anything outside of that backpack that can get snagged, so you'll have the bag on the outside completely empty or completely buttoned that's fine so if you want an extra bag that's fine make sure the bag is made for the bag and make sure it's securely fastened because if you hang loose things on the bag it will swing around , it will make noise, it will get stuck. It's bullshit, so please don't do that.
That's not really smart, that's not tactical, that's not the way you move silently if you're trying to be covert, okay, so let's talk a little bit about my shelter now, like I said. I'll be inside most of the vehicle most of the time, so I probably won't need half the stuff. If you already watch my videos on preparing my vehicle, then you know that I have a lot of this stuff in there if I get it. separate or I have to leave my vehicle behind, that's why I have these things already packed again like I said, each climate will depend on what you are going to pack if you are in a cold environment like the one I live in. in the northeast it's cold or if you live in Florida it's never cold you probably won't need half of these things, okay, same thing, desert jungle, all that kind of stuff depending on where you live, so I like this. comfortable pack, okay, this is a comfortable jungle pack, it's a fully insulated blanket, it's more of a mummy bag, it's very small, it's compact, it's more of a jungle, it's more of a jungle blanket, okay , you can also pack and what I used to pack.
Is it the ranger roll or the woobie uh, it's about the same material. What I like about this is that it's a bag so it'll keep you a little bit warmer than the whoopee because you know in the middle of the night when I'm shooting that kind of stuff I also added a bivy sack that goes with this to keep all the moisture and rain away, as well as giving me a little more comfort and a little more r-value. I also added this tarp now this tarp is super waterproof and I'll put the name below but it's a camo tarp you don't need to get a camo tarp but some kind of thick thick tarp okay I see a lot of guys that they use those painter's tarps or the blue tarps and I'm not saying they're terrible because they will work, but in a torrential downpour or if you're in a very humid environment, those tarps usually don't last very long.
Okay, they'll just keep raining through you, you'll get a big load of snow, that kind of thing will just hit you, okay, it won't last long and besides, if you're trying to hide and not be seen, maybe a tarp. Blue isn't really the way to go, so I went with this camo, a really good one. I'll put the name below. I also carry some bungees there. I think it's important to set up your shelter well and the bungees really do that. Quick, that being said, this is a very sturdy tarp, okay, so understand that you're going to have to pump that weight which is part of the 40 pounds right there, so I've got my shelter, I've got my system for getting a good night's sleep, I've also got some black. bags these are really cool black trash bags uh for any type of survival situation have your black trash bags right.
You could make a sleeping bag out of black garbage bags and you wouldn't need half of this stuff if you really want to go ultra. ultra ultralight again I live in the northeast when it's six degrees I want the most comfort possible and this is just to see the summit I see the summit bag this is waterproof it has the airtight fold and that's because I carry extra socks and extra clothes some people do What some people do not only depends if I need to walk a long distance if I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere and don't know where I'm going or if it's an

emergency

situation with the grid out, whatever the case may be, my house blew up and I happen to be at work.
I have a pair of socks here, some shorts and a t-shirt, okay, just something to clean or change. After a while, what will happen is that your skin will start to rot. It's okay, if you can't maintain proper hygiene, your skin will rot. It's like anything else, you don't clean it, you don't wash it. it rots the same with your skin so this goes inside the waterproof bag along with some additional items that I have here which is my Carhartt Scully which keeps it warm and then I have my insulated leather gloves as you can see they are very used, well used, I like them.
These because they are insulated and you know I've gotten out of a lot of trouble with these, but make sure you get some type of leather gloves. I know a lot of people like those studded gloves, those studded gloves are great for what they do. re for um, if you're doing a little, I don't know, insertion or whatever, you're a trade guy, I get it, okay, they're cool military, but in the long run you're going to need to pick up some hot items or maybe start a fire and you want something that protects your hands and doesn't melt, okay so, a warm hat, warm gloves, I also have a shine, I never go anywhere without a shine, I think it's important, okay, can?
Use it for medical devices, you can wrap your head in it, you can do all kinds of cool things. Well, this is my navigation kit. Now it doesn't have to be as extensive in navigation, but I like to have everything in one place. I have my rand uh mcnalls I have my maps of new jersey national park which shouldn't even be a map anymore because I hate new jersey no offense no offense I'm kidding I have my markers all my maps uh I have my military style Really You don't need this if you don't have a topo map, but I've been planning on getting the top.
I have two suntone compasses, so I have this one, which is actually really good. this is the mc2 it also comes with a mirror a couple of different things it has measurements on the side it also has a magnifying glass more like a survival compass of course you can do dead reckoning around here and you can also use the mirror for signal if you want you need this is the backup solar trailer it just gives me a wrist compass a little more now i have a gps i use it for hunting i use it when i'm camping etc. uh, but I thought instead of By doing that, chances are that if I get stuck somewhere, it'll be somewhere outside my car.
I have GPS in my car so I could use one of those, so I was just trying to duplicate the compasses. Also in here I have my path, my miniature path atlas, I have wilderness areas to survive now, these are all edible wilderness survival impervious mushrooms, medicinal plants, edible plants, okay, these are inserts that you can buy on Amazon and I'll leave the links. Below are just reference cards. I think it's important that if you're lost somewhere, whether it's in a city environment or on the highway or whatever, that you have a little bit of material to maybe get over that limit. again to each his own this is my kit this is the way I choose to run it uh if you have a different style that's cool I'd love to know but that's my navigation kit it fits inside this nice code uh coyote um uh, case for laptop, so that's cool, string, lots of string, this is one of those spool tools, it also has a lighter and a cutter, I think when you make any type, if I were to do something like I said, something crazy happens and I am traveling somewhere.
I like to have enough rope. I have a firefighting team right here. I have these cubes that are trioxin. I also have a candle. I have lighter waterproof matches and this is one of those. Dual fire lighters. You already know. Okay, I don't like these, I like the fire stick better, but it's small enough that I can stick it in there again. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm not trying to put up the best fire starter ever. I only have several. multiple ways to start fire again multiple ways of lighting in here I have chemical lights, they are very cheap I recommend getting different colors if you have to ask for help I have a headlamp and I have a really cheap flashlight here these are one of those cree flashlights, they are fine, they work and the reason I chose this is because it requires a double battery.
It's okay, you don't need one, two, three batteries. Now I know they are very popular and you can get batteries anywhere. with a dual battery it does what it was supposed to do which is illuminate what I'm trying to illuminate and then turn it off, no big deal now like EDC I have my own special tactical flashlights so I go above and beyond. mile with it again this is in my bag that will be stored in a vehicle somewhere for a while I just don't care if it gets burned or lost or broken or stolen that kind of thing so you have to write keep that in the equation, okay, so again, cheap Gerber multitool.
I know a lot of people like Gerber. I'm sorry, but as a daily ritual I usually wear a leatherman. This is just an extra one. I think Gerber makes decent products. It's the diesel, if you're interested, it comes with the bag. I always leave it in the bag and the reason I do that is because if I'm in a bad situation where I need to get rid of some of this stuff, I can always just attach it. this on my belt is fine simple simple is fine goes along with tools laplander buckle nothing fancy it is very simple does the things I needed to do if I need to build any type ofshelter instead of swinging an ax or a machete I could just get over this with this it's quiet it's easy to carry it's very, very light now I'm not against carrying the machete you guys see if you liked what I said if you watched the video of the contents of my vehicle I have a machete and an ax in there with the idea that you know to have those extra tools if I need themNow you know that I am a knife maker, however, I believe that no kit is complete without a fixed blade knife.
Usually I'll carry a folding knife or one of my knives anyway that's fine but I only have this whole kit to be complete you should have a knife a fixed knife now I recommend this one it's not that expensive this is the one which has more knives, this one is made in Sweden, obviously carbon steel, this one is carbon steel, what I liked about this one, it's a little thicker than the classic ones, it doesn't have to be a darkened blade, but it has a nice rubber handle that's good for wet and snow, that kind of thing and I think they call this one the bush crafter or something like that.
It has a fire resistant steel and a sharpening stone. I'm not a big fan of the way this sheath is because I think it sticks there well enough but I don't know how strong it is okay it doesn't feel very strong but for a loading knife or something maybe Whether you're going to use it once or twice or maybe you need it to survive, it's adequate, it's extremely adequate, it's not necessary. buy a thousand dollar knife, um, just to get out of a bad situation right now, if you want a good knife, a thousand dollar knife, go to three riverblades.com, I'll sell you whatever you need, okay, so there Well, let's talk a little. about first aid now first aid is not going to be trauma okay if so if you are trying to escape from somewhere or you are stranded or there is a major hurricane or whatever the case may be yes there could be some trauma issues and I recommend carrying a trauma kit with this kit.
What I'm trying to do is have enough of a first aid kit or items in here that are small enough to carry, that aren't overdrawn or that aren't overdone and be able to use the items that are. Here, that's the most necessary thing and the most necessary thing you're going to encounter is mostly pain, so you're going to pay because you've been walking miles, so you might have to take care of your feet. some tylenol maybe some bandages something to help maybe you have bad diarrhea that kind of thing or what's here is fine you should always carry a tourniquet with you maybe a small quick clot and of course carry some type of bandage to trauma, but again that's edc, okay, this is not edc, so what I'm talking about here is very simple, okay, just a very simple kit, okay, there's not a lot of stuff in there, I have some sunscreen, little trauma scissors, moleskin, okay, so if you spent any time in the military, you know exactly what that is, I have a five by nine, I have an Ace bandage, some gloves, I have some imodium tablets, okay, I have some bandaids, some gauze and I think that's it, so this.
This is more of a booboo ouch kit, it's not made for any type of trauma, but I think with the painting aids here, you're ahead in terms of pain management, that's fine and like I said, if you take the to be. you're carrying it and you're not in shape or whatever the case may be, you'll probably need some kind of paint to help you, okay, that's what this first aid kit is all about, nothing fancy, nothing too crazy, okay, uh As far as the water, I have my mini sawyer. I leave the straw there. You can also attach this to a camel back.
You can also use the filter in the water or you can also connect it to a bottle to get this right. I think this one, I forget how many uses, like 100,000 uses, but it's a straw, it's a survival straw, okay, I wouldn't necessarily use it long term, just use it for what you need it for if you're stranded or you're stuck or you're solving your problem, whatever it is, you have something that can purify the water. I also have purification tablets in this kit. I also have a genetic bottle here that is stainless steel that I can boil water in.
Speaking of water, I usually just drink a canteen cup, no matter the size. Some people like the bigger ones. I recommend the stainless steel ones. I don't like aluminum cans. It leaves a strange taste in my mouth. I don't like. haha, that's funny right, uh and um, I just prefer stainless steel. I don't know if it's true what they say about aluminum, if you cook with aluminum or drink from it, then the inside here is empty, except for this, these are like my. napkins uh they're just basic tissues you can also put a survival tissue if you want and these are my eating utensils so I have this which is a fish hook but I also have my titanium fork or I light my fire so you can use any from the sides.
And I have it again, this is also good for cleaning if you need to clean up afterward, but what it is is a fish spreader. I know you guys are probably familiar with this but if I need to boil water I could just hook it up like this and then it boils my water and then I don't have to worry because I have a little 550 cord, keep it on low heat and then you should be good to go on When it comes to food, you guys are looking at Mrs. I. I've been eating these for, I don't know, and it was over 10 years.
I ate them sometimes, I ate them every day for six months and it's brutal on the stomach. They're high in calories, high in calories, okay, so you could probably get away with it. with one a day, maybe even half of one a day depending on how far you go, but these have a shelf life. I know a lot of people say you can get the travel bars or the sos bars. I don't recommend them. uh I've used them before uh the problem is it's just one flavor okay so it's a lemon cookie and if you're in a survival situation you eat whatever you need to eat to survive but with this I get a lot of more calories, so you'll get a lot more calories.
They are prepackaged. It comes with a water heater inside that is chemically activated so you can heat up your food and sometimes that little warm comfort. chow or that little hot food goes a long way so in my opinion this is chili mac one of the best ever made by the lady and then I have shredded veggies and taco style pasta and sauce so that will probably give you a lot tosomeone. of heartburn, that's fine, but again make sure you check the boxes on these. Remember that when you receive a box of mres for the year you buy them, they are already three years old, so don't think you are going to put this in. in a bug out bag and you know let it sit inside your vehicle and you live in Arizona okay if you do that the mres will go bad faster okay its supposed to be cool and dry not a thousand degrees inside your vehicle with the windows rolled up alternately. what you can do is take out all the contents and repackage it, we used to call it field strip, what makes this package big is there's a lot of cardboard in there, a lot of extra lint that you don't need.
I just leave it alone, I don't care, like I said, I'm not in the military anymore, I don't have to worry about it if you want to throw a whole box of Mres in your vehicle, like I said, whenever you can. uh, keep that temperature, you should be fine, I also have some toiletries. Now many people don't add toiletries in their travel bags. 72

hour

bag. I recommend you do all I have here is some camping foam. You can buy smaller bottles, this is a net fluid ounce, uh, eight, sorry, eight fluid ounces, okay, it's concentrated, so you only need a little bit, you get your tissue, you can wash your pots, your pans, you Let it be what you can bathe with.
You can wash your hair with it, so it's a soap for almost everything. Toothbrush. Toothpaste. Very simple. You don't have to buy it. You can get the small travel kit. It doesn't matter and of course wet wipes or whatever. brand you use the reason is like I said before if you don't cleanse your body and you do it day after day you are going to develop rashes those rashes are going to turn into cuts and sores those sores when dirt falls If it turns into an infection you end up getting sick so that you have to take care of your body when you are on the move, okay, that is based on a complete experience and if you want, you can look for it yourself, hygiene is a necessity, okay? especially if you're going to move around a lot you're going to sweat you're going to get dehydrated you don't want to get an infection and get sick you're just not well uh last but not least this is my survival kit this is my individual survival kit uh I have a couple of things here that I'm not going to go over I just know I'll do it in a separate uh separate video this is cool because I forgot what they call it I'll put the link down below but you can put a belt over here and then you could use it on your belt so everything you haven't seen here will probably be here, so I have a little extra water bottle, some tablets, uh. another button compass, you know, I have a little flashlight there.
I have the bags that you use to get extra water and stuff and the reason I like this is because the little cans and that kind of stuff are cool, those little survival kits that they are. Okay, and fine, but this is your survival kit. Well I could literally take this out and give it to someone else and have them survive with me if I have this whole kit and vice versa obviously I won't have mres but that's why there are two. That's right, what this does is a force multiplier that allows me to have an extra kit inside my 72

hour

bag to give to someone else if they need it.
Well, I have a silicone key there. I know someone is going to ask. I for those Silcock keys, if you live in the city environment, what the Silcock key does is that it allows you to go to corporate buildings, it doesn't have a rotating nozzle, it has like a small block, and you can buy them at a very, very low. Amazon or anywhere else, okay, and what that does is you can turn on the tap and fill all your stuff with water and still, speaking of water, as you saw, I had a camel, okay, so the camel is inside the back, okay, guys, that's nice.
