I'M BUYING A TESLA MODEL Y! FIRST TEST DRIVE

Jun 25, 2024
Alright guys, how are you doing? Well today I'm in this 2015 BMW I guess it's not officially, but it really is a company car. I'm not sure how I got to this, but yeah, every two or three months you change them and get an update. Yeah, when I think about it it doesn't make much sense, does it? But it's one of the many advantages of having me. like your brother, I guess my brother puts on quite a few miles now and is often the one who

drive

s us when we go to meetings and car shows and film all that kind of stuff, that means my gas bill my monthly fuel bill at my local gas station Well, the bills are huge and I'm slowly realizing that all that fuel money is okay, it's wasted money, I can't get it back.

I recently spoke to my accountant and he suggested

buying

an electric vehicle now at

first

. I actually wasn't that interested, but then I thought about giving an EV a moment as a carpool that my brother could use. It actually makes a lot of sense. I spoke to my brother about this and having experienced a fair amount of EVs on the channel. mainly new press cars, suggested Tesla, thought Tesla was the way to go and I agree to be honest, when you think about it, it makes sense that Tesla has been making EVs for longer, they have the best network, their network of superchargers seem to be the envy of everyone else.

More Interesting Facts About,

i m buying a tesla model y first test drive...

I just think they've hit the nail on the head with the electric vehicle market, that's their business

model

and it works. They were never a brand that made ice cars and they switched to electric vehicles like many others they started with. As an EV brand I also think they have great value now they used to make the

model

S which was my favorite but they don't make it in the UK anymore, they used to make the model X with those original doors, Falcon doors, like you call them They don't make that anymore, so my options were pretty limited: you have the model 3, which is that little saloy hatchback, or the model Y, which is a little more 3, starts at around 40K and the model Y starts at around 45 now.

I know it's a lot of money, I know it's a buck, but in the world of new EVs it's not that expensive, it's actually a great value. If you think about it, a top-spec F 500e will set you back $34k, for just £6,000. more you can get a Tesla, it's a no-brainer and as much as we argue and get angry, I couldn't really present him with a fat 500e, he wouldn't thank me at all, while the Tesla on the other hand is pretty cool, I think would appreciate it, so in today's video we head to Tesla Manchester, which is actually in Stockport, in the old chapel Nissan garage, we head there to

a model.

I'm really excited about this because I've never driven a Tesla, or any of the models. I have never driven a Tesla. I've never been in some Tesla taxis, but I've never been behind the wheel, so I'm pretty excited. I'm looking forward to seeing it, they recently brought out a new Tesla Model 3 and I've seen the photos and I'm not a big fan, the styling is good but there are no stems and I thought it would be a bit strange and difficult. It takes getting used to so I think the Y model is the one, it's also a slightly better value, it's a little more expensive but you still get more car before you go driving this big appliance.
I just want to say thank you very much. you to the sponsor of today's video today's video is sponsored by Carly. OK lets start. Now you've heard me mention Carly in previous videos, but it's a really useful tool and it's very easy to use. All you have to do is locate your OBD port which is usually located in the footwell area near the pedals, remove the small cover and plug in the Carly reader once it is plugged in all you have to do is turn on the engine of your vehicle, make sure the blue tw on your phone is on and then connect it to the Carly app that Carly allows you to. to diagnose and repair various car problems, but it is also useful when you are looking to buy a car because you can plug it in and make sure the mileage is genuine.
Sometimes people can time a car so the mileage looks nice and low on the odometer, but when you plug in the Carly reader, it will tell you the actual mileage. What I plan to do with this particular X3 because currently there are no problems. Use the Carly reader to customize various features, so let's run a diagnostic check on what this might take. A couple of minutes, Colie also lets you set reminders for maintenance tasks like oil changes, brake checks, that sort of thing, so for example on this X3 I'd like to address that start/stop function that my brother hates, like me, Carly. she allows us to customize the function of this car so that we can disable the start stop function easily, so let's go to the customization menu, find the start stop setting and disable it.
You can also use cabbage to unlock and customize certain functions in your car, for example when locking the car you can sometimes turn the beep on or off, you can make the mirrors fold, you can make the rev meters sweep when you start the car, all that kind of stuff. In addition, you can customize other functions, for example, you can turn off the Daya and running lights, you can adjust the volume of the parking assistant and much more, so Carly is a really useful tool that works on multiple brands, you can customize a car and diagnose it, this is the kind of thing you need.
You would have to pay the dealer hundreds of pounds for what is a really useful tool. The car is compatible with a wide range of car brands including BMW Mercedes Audi Volkswagen Toyota Ford and many more. It supports cars made after 2001 and even works with some older models with special adapters, so whether you have a car from a common brand or something more exclusive, Carly will probably have you covered if you want to try Carly for yourself, don't forget use my promo code alto pico 24 or alternatively. Click the link below in the video description with the car, you can take control of your car's diagnosis and customization, making the car truly yours, very happy driving directly to Tesla.
Well I got to Tesla and there are two cars to try the model 3 and the model and now the model Y is around £400 a month for the base model so they are good value for money. The showroom was also very nice, but there was no one there. It was like the Mary Celeste anyway, let's get this going. It's the

first

time I've driven a Tesla. I've been in a few Ubers as a passenger, but I've never driven one before. Here in the UK there are only two models available, you can no longer buy the x or the S.
Now the S was the nicer one in my opinion. You can only buy the small three, which I'm not a big fan of. Now I think the Y is based on all three, but it's a little higher. Basically, to get more cars, I've driven a lot of EVs now, so this isn't my first rodeo, let's say, but it's a little strange with Tesla. I'm still figuring this out. I'm not entirely sure how to disable this. The thing about the regenerative braking system because it's quite severe, I mean, yes, it's quite nice, really, the interior is a bit Volo, it's very minimalist, the seats are particularly comfortable, they're quite nice, what you have to get used to is that everything is controlled on this screen, so you don't have a traditional gauge cluster here, your speedometer and everything is up here.
I mean, I guess it's all pretty easy to live with and while I'm not a big fan of EVS, I think Tesla, well, they're the ones actually choosing the whole supercharging network seems to be better than the rest H. I could see myself driving one of these, actually, you know, if I bought one for myself, it would save me a lot of money. My finance payment for my Range Rover is quite expensive and consumes quite a bit of fuel, whereas with this all you have is a much cheaper finance payment and a much cheaper electricity cost.
I need to install a home charger, although I think it's worth mentioning at this point. The model I'm

test

ing today is the rear-wheel drive. They now have all-wheel drive, which is like a higher-performance dual-motor model. This is just the standard base model. Basically, I think it's not 60 times with something like that. 6.8 seconds, so it should still be fast enough. I think the AWD model got it down to 4 seconds, so it was a lot quicker. I know this whole car was to buy one for my brother, but I'm pretty tempted to do it myself. It would make a lot more sense, right?
I feel a little guilty about racing around in my 5L Range Rover. I just can't help but think it's a bit, it's a bit. Isn't it? It's a bit. A bit of virtue, I mean you see enough of them so I wouldn't be the only one. Anyway, from your point of view, this would make a lot more sense than the X3 because it would save me a lot of money on fuel and repairs. and whatever the service costs, many savings can be made. I've always thought of these cars as appliances, it's not something you buy with the heart, you buy it with the head, isn't that the case in this case? counter head so oh there are too many options so now for example I'm driving thinking well I'd like to have my heated seat how do I do that?
Someone knows? Someone knows? This is really distracting, actually there must be In a way, maybe I'm being silly. You see, there are almost no buttons in this interior, so even things like the glove box, if you want to open the glove box, you have to do it through this touch screen. I mean, I guess, I guess. I'd get used to it, wouldn't I, but I don't know if I really like it, where are the seat controls? How annoying is it, well this is annoying. I just realized I haven't looked at the road for about 6 minutes uh in terms. of what it's like to drive then it's very nice, but a lot of modern cars, especially EVS, are okay, okay.
I don't think I'll ever put my shoes on in the morning thinking, oh yeah, I have to do that. Spend an hour today in the Tesla. I can not wait. I don't think it's one of those cars. It's just Tob's job. Let's look hot. No, that's not there. How annoying is this. Many of you will know this, but I hate technology. To be honest this may not be the car for me, this is a boring video isn't it? What more can I tell you about it? Let's do a quick performance test, are you ready? Yeah, it's not fast, but it's pretty good, pretty good, really.
Where does it tell you what your scope is? So what is my R 90%? Oh, right, 90% or 219 miles, that's fine. So what's crazy is that you can't use your phone while driving, obviously, but you can still use it. this laptop ah right now we're cooking literally we can put the right seat right seat heated steering wheel heated seat now what I'm worried about is that I won't be able to ah right so I think it's like a shortcut, right? my seats my steering wheel is getting hot, excuse me guys, this is the first time I've been on something, although they've been around for I don't know a decade or something, they're a bit gimmicky, which is exactly what I thought they would be.
I hoped they were clever. Sure enough, this is with the squeaky cushions and all that kind of Toy Box nonsense. Let's take a look at the childish. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of this, regardless of my opinions on it I still think it makes sense from a business point of view, there are many advantages from a tax point of view, it would make my accountant very happy, it would make me very happy to my brother, um and it would also make me quite happy because I won't be paying for his big gas. Bill and his repair bill and his tire bill and his brake pad Bill Etc.
Makes sense. I'll be honest with you. I was going there today thinking I was going to cut my Rain Rover for one, that's what it was. thinking but having driven one I don't know if I would mind I think I would prefer although it would make sense I don't know I don't know is the honest answer what a healthy area how long have we been driving now 12 minutes and I just figured out how to put the radio on how bad are those 8 absolutes that will do no, the absolute 80s want headaches, that's what we want, we need a cherry, a Buffalo Stance, what's it like?
The sound system is pretty good, actually, okay, good. I think that's enough for me, let me take it to the showroom and see what I need to do to order one. I think I need to set it up online and then order it through the website. I have visited

tesla

.com and here. model and starts at $399 per month, so order now. To be honest, I'm a bit of a technophobe, so let's see how easy this is with rear-wheel drive. £44,990 now we want or he wants black which is an extra 300. What's wrong with the wheels? It's £2,100, no thanks.
I think the standard wheels are fine, so the rangeit decreases on the larger wheels, that's interesting, yeah we'll stick with the standard wheels and then they'll look decent. We don't need a trailer hitch now. interior Now if I was ordering one for myself I would go with this white interior because it looks really cool it makes the interior nice and light but I think I would play it safe and go black. Oh, it's included anyway, and now I might as well spend a There's a ton here on autopilot and you know about the self-driving capability, but to be honest, I don't want to spend that extra money.
£3400 for the upgraded autopilot seems like a lot of money, so we'll leave it, I think. You see the option here with full autonomous driving capability. I don't think some of those features are available in the UK yet, so it will work with auto steering on city streets. I don't think he'll correct me. if I'm bad I don't think it's available since you know various UK laws and stuff so I'm pretty sure you'd end up paying £6800 and well not being great value for money we need a connector wall, so I'll do it. add that to order, estimated delivery June-July 2024.
Well, that's available now. Review your order. Now we're doing this under a business name and we want some finances. Buy higher. Well I think that's it, so I'm not sure where I put my details to see if I pass Finance I think that's it, so everything due today £675, right, okay, price adjustments, uh, yeah There are, it's only valid for 7, even calculate that bit, calculate that bit, it's a strange world, isn't it? now you can order a new car like an iPhone or something nice, that's pretty easy, even I managed it. This is really strange because you know I spend quite a bit of time on various websites in the configurators with Porsche and Landrover. and all that sort of stuff and I thought with Tesla there would be a ton of options to tick but they all come pretty well specified so you can't really specify it, it's pretty basic all you have to do is choose the Choose the color of the wheels and choose the model you want, so it's quite limited, it's actually like

buying

an iPhone, you just choose the storage size and the way you see, even down to the colors, there aren't that many colors available, so which is white. it's standard so it's included or black it's £1300 in deep blue metallic it's quite a nice color in fact that's probably what I would have gone for the deep blue metallic with a white interior which would have looked quite nice, I don't really use the quick red and silver.
I think it's a bit boring. I saw one of those gray and silver Teslas at Tesla and thought it looked a little boring, a little flat. I don't think I would have bothered with those wheels and that's it. For the options, how strange. I'm so glad I went to the showroom to try one out because I was seriously thinking about ordering two, one for me and one for him, but after driving one, it's not for me. I'll stay. I'm still suffering with my Ranger's large fuel bills. I think that's right, let me have this and then I'll try to apply for funding.
I have a pretty decent credit score so I should be fine, but you never know. Doing this on behalf of a company, not me personally, so I'm not sure, and yeah, that's it I guess, but I'm kind of skeptical about EVs, so I might make more videos with this, like the whole process , so you already know. receiving it, putting it in the wall box, all that kind of stuff and then probably a full review as well, so if you'd like to see that kind of stuff, let me know down in the comments, so yeah, cheers, thanks guys, Thanks once again for watching, be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tik Tok.
