SUPERMAN 2025 and GREEN LANTERN vs BRAINIAC

May 17, 2024
Welcome back everyone. I'm Charlie, James Gunn just revealed the first full official look at David Corenswet's new Superman suit for the Superman

2025

movie. So we'll break it all down. There is a lot going on in this image. It's much more than the soup itself, but obviously that's the most important thing. If you are new to the channel, be sure to subscribe to receive all the videos. It looks like it's going to reveal a lot more. So we may get a sneak peek before the end of the year. Previously, he said there was no way to show us what the suit actually looked like before next year.

Clearly that is not the case. My guess is that the reason he did that is because the suit itself was about to leak, like at some point an actual image was going to leak, or they were going to film outdoors with him in the suit. And that's why. The biggest takeaway is probably that trunks are back. Superman's trunks are back. A while ago, he actually did a survey. It turns out that he was actually just playing with us because he had already decided to bring the trunks long before doing this. The last time we saw a live-action Superman in a movie with the swimsuit wearing the Ralph Superman brand.

More Interesting Facts About,

superman 2025 and green lantern vs brainiac...

And he was actually meant to be canonically Christopher Reeve Superman. Actually, he is Christopher Reeve Superman. The last one to put on his trunks. The suit itself is intended to be a combination of the Kingdom Come suit with the logo, the Max Fleischer Superman cartoon suit with the yellow around the edge of the logo, and the new 52 suit with a collar. So it's meant to be an amalgamation of a bunch of different Superman suits from different eras. The suit itself could also have a backstory, like the one in My Adventures with Superman, where it is a Kryptonian suit.

It starts out being made by Kryptonians, but his mother ends up modifying it, and because of that it looks like it was something a human made on Earth, it looks much more low fi than Henry Cavill's Superman suit, which was made by Kryptonians and found in the Kryptonian ship. Notice that it's already super dirty. It almost looks like he's finishing up the day's superhero work as he takes off his boots. What did you have with this giant backdrop of a huge battle in the sky with a pair of giant sky bolts? There have been many jokes about this.

But I definitely think it must be someone like Brainiac, for example, or someone else. It looks a lot like the Brainiac energy he's giving off here. shooting Nathan Fillion, Guy Gardner, Green Lantern. I think it's the energy from his Green Lantern ring that's blocking the beam here in the background. So what's going on with Superman? He looks like he's in his apartment putting on his boots one at a time, but he just got out, saved the world recently, and hasn't had time to rest. So, many people were wondering: will he come home from work or will he go off to save the world again?
From the look on his face, it seems like he hasn't rested. And he's been continually going on missions and missions and missions. He just hasn't been able to fall asleep. That's why his suit is super dirty. The other really notable thing about the suit, like zooming in on the hands, is a lot of droopy parts, like pleats, like a normal human suit they would wear. instead of saying, like Henry Cavill's Superman suit, which seems welded to his skin. Now they could adjust this in post-production because James Gunn said they didn't do any actual post-production or Photoshop to retouch this photo.
He was captured in Canberra. What that means if you've never filmed anything or you've never been on a film set before, is that they were filming with the camera they're using. And this is just an image taken from that real one without any retouching, without any post-production on it. the weird depth of field happening in the background that you're probably picking up on, like a lot of people felt like it looked a little weird, like this looks like Photoshop in the background. What's going on here? It's probably because they're filming indoors using the volume for all these big things going on in the background with Green Lantern versus Brainiac or whoever.
He's actually fighting here. Matt Reeves uses volume a lot. When he was filming the Batman movie, he looked like this. It's basically like a lot of videos were. They use it all the time in Star Wars TV shows. So if you walk in and take a picture of Superman sitting in a chair, putting on his boots one at a time, like he's a regular old Joe in the background of this video. Well, that's what it would look like, and that's probably why this image looks like this. It's meant to be more of a behind-the-scenes image. Not like an official Photoshopped photo, as they usually publish.
We'll probably soon have a version of that so we like flying or doing something in broad daylight. Many people think the suit gives off some Guardians of the Galaxy vibes. I don't know, but it has a very homemade texture feel. I think part of the problem with this version of Superman, David Corenswet's Superman, is that James Gunn wanted it to feel much more like a real world, the kind of real person you would meet on the street who would actually help you. . if he needs them. And you were just a normal person. When he was talking about Superman a while ago, he actually made a comment like that when he was talking about Christopher Reeve.
Superman. like someone who would help a girl get her cat out of a tree. who captures that spirit. Which they don't talk much about. When they talk about Chris Reed, they talk about the purity of him, the hope of him, the goodness of him. They talk about, you know, how the way he plays Clark is very different from the way he plays Superman and how he can activate that in an instant. like Frisky now. But there's a joy to Superman, when he saves a cat, he has that wry smile. And that's one of the best parts of the movie, it's Superman's joy.
He enjoys what he is doing. He likes to help human beings. One of the big differences with Henry Cavill, Superman, is that Zack Snyder really intended to make it this epic myth, on the level of God, also many myths of Christianity, like you have all these crossovers with the concept. Background art during the Zack Snyder era of Superman, like the Snyder-verse or whatever you want to call it, the DCU, you had more of a Christ-type Superman. I think we can say that with this realm arrived, the real-world Superman figure, James Gunn is going in the opposite direction of that.
We haven't really seen any footage yet, so I can't comment on what the actual movie will feel like. But I think this is a good thing, simply because they want to differentiate him from all the previous versions of Superman, but also honor the things that came before. Only because there are so many Easter eggs baked into this version from the previous versions. but overall it seems like he's trying to lean more into a classic Superman feel that goes back to earlier versions of the character, like Christopher Reeve even going back to George Reeves, played by Ben Affleck in another film.
Everyone forgets that Ben Affleck briefly played a version of Superman. Now, it was a bit of a spicy backstory, because if you don't know the real story of George Reeves, it's kind of a tragedy. But you notice it. He also carried the trunks. The film is also supposedly inspired by All Star Superman, which is from Grant Morrison's run. Grant Morrison is one of the people who also talked about doing Superman. He's the character who had everyday problems, like a Superman who had God-level powers, but also had to deal with everyday things. So he's sitting in his chair here, like he's Superman in the Kingdom, putting on his boots one at a time, like a normal person going to work like a normal person.
One of the other fun things about this too, which we can say in retrospect, is that James Gunn actually teased this image a long time ago about making plans using the Kingdom Come Superman image with all the other characters. He was just trying to say that he was doing something really exciting, like, oh, you know, we have a lot of plans behind the scenes, but he was actually trying to joke about what Superman would look like, because he's also using the trunks here to. Now everyone will once again adopt each of the poses that James Gunn has done on the Superman movie.
What was he really revealing this time? Behind him, it looks like they're making Dragon Ball Super. I talked about Brainiac versus Guy Gardner. Green Lantern. He could be Brainiac. It could be another character, James Gunn. It is only said that Lex Luthor will be one of the main villains during the film. So, Green Lantern is fighting something that Lex Luthor invented. He is fighting Brainiac. He is fighting another character like the authority comics engineer, or he is fighting Pink Godzilla with his atomic breath. Side note DC actually saw the crossover with the Justice League fighting Godzilla in Godzilla Wrecked the hell out of them.
I also talked about this before, but Brandon Routh Superman literally wore the exact same suit during the Arrowverse crisis on Infinite Earths. The minor change is that the suit itself was made of a different material. It was softer than David Corenswet's new suit. And during most of the crises on Infinite Earths, he wore the royal kingdom come suit as if it was literally meant to be the version of the kingdom come suit. and yes, Superman's Brandon Routh during that was meant to be his version of Superman from his Superman movie. And in that Superman movie, like Superman Returns, he was canonically meant to be Christopher Reeve's version of Superman, just a jump forward in the timeline.
Technically it was Christopher Reeve, Superman dressed in the kingdom suit. The same basic history of suits in Silver Age stories going back a long way in the comics, Superman's suits were generally made by his mother, Martha Kent, when he acquired his powers and began using the name of Superman when he was twenty years old. as if she hadn't shown up on Earth in her module with ready-made Superman suits, ready for him to wear. Martha. Kent made the suit using the fabric and materials inside her Kryptonian capsule. So the suit itself was always super strong Kryptonian materials compared to Earth materials.
It was simply made from repurposed Kryptonian materials. After she grew up. They also got into the comedy behind this with Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman Run, which James Gunn also published. Just like in the official announcement, she used the art of All-Star Superman when he was talking about the new Superman movie. During that story, they explained that they used a diamond sewing device to create her suit because the suit's materials, Kryptonian fabric, were very strong. Putting on David Corenswet's new suit has a very homemade feel. They also did this during the Superman and Lois TV show during the first season, like at the beginning of the show, when he wears his original suit, he talks about how his mother basically made it for him, this new logo is also the same . one he uses in my adventures with Superman and that TV show during the movie.
It will have a classic version of The Fortress of Solitude, not as a Kryptonian ship, like in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, but an actual Fortress of Solitude. So there will be a lot of Kryptonian technology on Earth, and they will approach it during my adventures with Superman in a slightly different way. As if it were a bit of a different spin on that whole concept, it reminds me of the title of Christopher Reeve's most classic Superman movie. A lot of the cast, here are characters that were in that original Superman movie, giving it a kind of vintage vibe without us seeing images like there's Otis or Miss Tess Mucker, like so many things just evoke Christopher.
Reeve Superman movie. They've actually just started filming footage, but they're filming on sound stages. So I don't expect there to be a ton of big costume leagues or costume leagues for the other main characters. But we'll see about that, whatever they end up releasing. Of course, I'll make videos about it. The other major cast he recently revealed includes these characters. Probably the most important word. Nicholas Hoult will look like his daring Lex Luther, with the change being Jesse Eisenberg. Lex Luthor started out with a full head of hair, they explain in the DCU. He lost it when he was arrested and thrown into Arkham Asylum at the end of Batman v Superman.
Right now it seems like it's just based on the way they're talking about Lex Luthor, the way James Gunn talked about him to Michael Rosenbaum, is this the new Lex Luthor that Nicholas Hoult is playing? It'll feel a little more like character development in the relationship with Superman, at least as adults. that Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor had in the Smallville series. warning. He also says that his Lex is probably the best Lex there is. We'll see if Nicholas Hoult can talk about that in the new Superman movie, because obviously we're just talking about the first new movie and he's going to be the new Lex Luthor in all of these new DC movies. but all.
