TOP 20 DIY DOLLAR TREE FALL HOME DECOR COMPILATION 2022 | HIGH END & NOT CHEESY FALL DECOR

Mar 08, 2024
I know it's a little early, but I've been really inspired by some of the things I've been seeing on the

dollar

tree

recently, so I wanted to give you my top 20

fall

dollar

tree

home

decor

projects that you should try. 10 new and 10 old with that said, let's start with the first project. We're going to make a faux eucalyptus wreath and to make it we're going to use these faux eucalyptus stems that the dollar tree has been carrying for

fall

this year. season, I think they seem to cost a lot more than a dollar and 25 cents and that will really be the base of our wreath, so I bought this wreath shape at the thrift store for only 25 cents, obviously you can use the ones that the tree dollar it sells, but this one is more affordable and I liked the fact that it was gold and a little sturdier, so basically I'm going to take six of these stems and I'm going to shape them around this wreath.

Shaped almost like a horseshoe when it comes to making wreaths, I personally like to use zip ties which you can also find at the dollar tree and I think it gives you a little more longevity with your projects. I can use this wire. wreath shape over and over again by simply cutting the zip ties and starting from scratch. I also think it works a lot faster and you can get exactly the position you want, and they stay put very well, so I think overall using zip ties adhesive is definitely the way to go after you get the first round that way. horseshoe.

I just cut off the excess and you can layer as many as you want and I also picked up this ribbon at the dollar tree and I only wanted one. A nice neutral color tied it in a simple loose bow and I think it looks so seasonal and pretty for next fall. I wanted to incorporate some copper into my seasonal fall

decor

, as well as some pumpkins, obviously, and this year the dollar tree really I think I upped the ante on their pumpkin game and I really loved this one that had kind of speckled print and I had these copper tubes that I was hoping to do a project with and I picked them up from hardware. store so all I do is remove the stem that's on top and this is basically made out of styrofoam and plastic so it comes off very easily and I'm just going to glue a copper tube on top . and all the way down I decided to just put some hot glue here instead of super glue just because it's going to be on a shelf, this is mostly shelf decor, no one's really going to touch it, but if it's something that people are accessing often I would definitely use a more substantial adhesive and after removing that stem there was already a hole there that was created so I filled it with some dried flowers for the next project.

I wanted to make this round pocket on the wall and basically this. It's something of a year-round decoration, but depending on what you fill it with can make it seem seasonal, so I grabbed one of the pleated chargers that the dollar tree carries, as well as one of these galvanized wall pockets , and I'm just going to Combine these two things using a super glue gel that you can also find at the dollar tree to give you a reference of how much I used. I practically used an entire tube of super glue gel and then four dabs of hot glue to form.

I just put it in place so the super glue gel had time to dry and everything stayed nice and secure and initially if you have this wall pocket on your dollar tree it comes with a little twine in the middle and I decided to cut it off. because that's a little too rustic for my personal aesthetic, so I needed to find something to put in those little holes so that those little push pins that the dollar tree sells you can just cut them to fit inside and I just super glue them. I gelled them right into those little holes just to make it feel a little fuller and after everything starts to dry and solidify, this is like the basic structure, but obviously we have so many different metals so I thought I'd give it all to you. a coat of gold spray paint and then you know I didn't like it very much so I went back to the drawing board and decided to make it all black because I have a lot of black in my house and just because you're decorating for the season you still want it to be in tune with the rest of your house so I decided to paint it black now to hang it on the wall, this is just what I have done in the past and I have never had any problems, it is just applying gel glue to this little bracket on the back of your stuff because obviously I can't put nails in here, but I want it to be nice and secure, so I wouldn't use hot glue.
I would definitely use it. super glue gel and for the summer I had this type of hanging greenery that I really loved and for the fall I was trying out some baby's breath but I think I can do better so if you have any recommendations on what you think would work look a little a little bit better, leave me a comment below for the next project. I wanted to make a contained taper candle holder and the dollar tree has these glass faces that I thought would be perfect, as well as these cinnamon scented pine cones that I needed to make a trip to the hardware store and picked up this plastic tube.
I decided to spray paint mine black so it would match the color of the candle and be a little more inconspicuous because that's what was holding the candle inside, so to begin with. I'm going to gently place my tall tapered candle in this little candle holder. I'm going to gel superglue the bottom and then gently press it towards the center. I will eventually have to cut that candle, but just to make sure the placement was correct, I decided to leave it long initially and while it dries, I'm just going to take one of the bunches that the dollar tree sells of cinnamon-scented pine cones and just one kind of cape.
It's at the bottom to hide that pipe just to give you a reference. I used a bunch for each glass vase and then after filling it completely, I simply cut the candle to the appropriate size using a serrated knife for the next project. I wanted to make a faux eucalyptus arrangement and to start I found this face on the dollar tree. I really liked this face because the shape reminds me a lot of what vintage crocodiles look like, although the color is definitely too off to give it a For a more autumnal or vintage look, I'm going to use this Krylon spray paint, it's shiny leather brown and I think brown for fall is very appropriate and I think it's very trendy right now just in

home

decor in general, but it's too bright so to take some of the shine off I'm going to apply this coat of wax on top and I'll link all the spray paints in the description box below and this is actually a very interesting spray paint because you spray it on and then you wipe it off just to give it a really nice texture and movement and then After finishing that part, I just sealed it with a clear matte sealer and now it's time to fill it in and like I said in At first I think these flowers specifically from the dollar tree are the best the dollar tree has ever had and just like reference to give you an idea of how many I used, I used three of the cream color and then four of the greenish one. red color and it really fills it out very well and I think for less than ten dollars you get a really pretty and complete faux flower arrangement for your next project.
I wanted to make a coat rack with antlers. I love using antlers, turkey feathers, things that come from, I guess. animals naturally this is not something harmful to them and I found this plaque in the craftsman square section and I'm just going to put these two things together, but before I do that I wanted to stain the wood a little bit darker and moodier. color and I'm going to use a minwax gel dye in the color brown which is a dye I've been loving recently you just want to wear gloves and the gel dye doesn't produce as much fumes which is another reason why I really like it love it, so after the stain set and dried, I just wanted to give it a fun way to hang it on the wall, so I had a leftover piece of leather strap, as well as a curtain hook, and I'm just going to stick it those pieces and then attach them to that wooden plaque and now it's time to add the antler, so I decided on this part just because I didn't know exactly what would hang here if it were. heavy so I decided to make super glue gel and then hold it until it was completely dry for the next project, something like the wall pocket.
I wanted to make a black raised tray, so this will again be something I can change with me. As the seasons change depending on what I put on top of here, so to start I found this floral plate in the gardening section of my dollar tree, as well as this mason jar and you guys have seen me make this and I'm sure of which many. of other youtubers do this a million times and I'm just going to connect these two pieces, just a couple of tips. I like to use gel super glue, especially when it comes to glass and metal, especially if it's going to be something that people touch all the time and you want to flip it over to make sure you place it exactly in the center and again like the wall pocket .
I wanted to keep it nice and consistent and paint it black and like me. I mentioned earlier in this video that Dollar Tree had really upped their game in terms of the pumpkins they've been selling, so when I saw these little fabric ones with the gold stem, I loved them and thought they would be perfect. on top of this little raised tray on my sideboard in my dining room and for only about five dollars I think I have some really cute and fun seasonal decor for the next project. I wanted to make a pillow and if you guys have been following my channel for you know I'm not a big fan of sayings or word signs but I like to incorporate different textures different colors that remind me of the season so when I came across these little rugs, they gave me a little bit of a southwestern vibe but also very similar to the Halloween colors: it has orange, black, white and a little bit of maroon, which I really loved and I feel like I have them Shown this many times, but just for those of you who don't know, you're going to take two pieces of fabric and line them up with the good sides facing each other so the bad sides are facing out and you just want to make sure you line things up pretty well. , especially.
If you have a lined pillow like this, you don't want the lines to be crooked and crooked, so after gluing the top and bottom, I like to glue one of my sides all the way down so you have both. the top, bottom and one of the sides completed and now you'll just want to turn it over and fill it with your pillow. I just had a pillow that I use constantly and it always changes with the season and I fill it up. There and then I tucked the fringe inside and glued that side down as well for the next project.
I wanted to make a paperback stack of books and I actually showed this, I think this time last year I was watching Sherry of Canterbury. cottage and she went to magnolia and she liked a hoax video that was really really special so I'll be sure to link it in the description box below but basically all you want to do is grab some books from Dollar Tree and then take them away . tie it up and then wrap it in twine or I had this suede ribbon and I think when it comes time to decorate for a different season, it's always good to lean towards styles that you really like but you don't have your entire house decorated in that style, so to For fall, I have definitely liked that type of rustic decoration and I am going to put a lot of that in my house during the fall every time I make that transition from summer to fall.
I noticed my house is starting to have a lot more layers so I wanted to layer a mat under my existing door mat for fall so I saw these utilitarian mats at the dollar tree so I grabbed three of them, they measure nine by 36. inches and then I also grabbed some masking tape and thought this might be the perfect layer and it's super simple, super easy and less than five dollars for the next project. I shared this project in my last dollar tree video where I did several different tricks. using the dollar tree spell leather fabric and wanted to make a faux leather pumpkin so all I did was place the fabric with the bad side facing out and took a wooden round that I had on hand and you could use. a dollar tree charger or a plate and I just traced around it and cut it out with the circle now in place, time to make little holes about a quarter of an inch inward and I made a hole about every quarter of an inch like Well, so I made several small holes, first I made marks and then I took a nail and a hammer that I had on hand and tapped them all over so that I would have small openings for the suede tape that I was going to attach.
Through it, after making the holes on all sides, I took some of that suede ribbon and wove it in and out so that that way it could be tied andbasically what you are making is a small bag with the cord wrapped completely woven in and out. I decided to fill mine with a little bit of rice just to give it a little weight and then taking each of the cords, I'm just going to tie them really tight. a knot so that that way none of that rice comes out and everything is nice and sturdy and I found this pumpkin stem left over from last year and I'm just going to apply super glue gel and hot glue to the top of this little faux leather . pumpkin and with that safe and instead I just removed that excess tape and I think it's a very economical way to get a faux leather pumpkin.
This is like a fall back to school DIY project, but I love using marble during the fall and a really easy way to get that material is to use a trophy base, so I just had a trophy base that my Husband let me use it for this project and I'm just going to use two of the dollar tree hurricane vases, one taller and one shorter, and I'm going to super glue those pieces together. I really like this DIY because I like to lean towards a more moody vibe for fall and I also think it can provide beautiful storage so on one side I can put some beautiful greenery and the other side I could put some pens or pencils and just put it on top of my desk and it always looks pretty and expensive, but there was another pattern that I love for the fall season, especially the plaid print and I showed you this one. in my last dollar tree video I used the faux leather fabric but this time instead of the brown I did black and white and we are going to make a vase so to start I made marks from left to right all over the inside of the white and Yeah.
I'm doing this in a robe and with my hair in a towel, which in my opinion is the best way to relax and craft, and I'm just using this piece of wood because I wanted everything to be nice and uniform and I could keep it nice and straight, for the black I made a mark again like the white from left to right and then each subsequent mark I made up and down just to point out that I'm making all those marks on the inside of the fabric and what I'm using. a pencil so you don't see any pencil marks on the outside of the finished product.
With all those markings completed, now I'm just going to take my fabric scissors and cut each white strip to weave. through the black fabric and for the black fabric I cut the strips up to the first line I made because I wanted the top piece of my vase to be nice and even and completely black and now it's time to weave them. White strips of fabric onto black strips of fabric with each row alternating to get that checkered print effect. To keep it's shape I did a combination of super glue gel and hot glue, especially on the edges and corners with the pattern completed, I simply removed the excess from one side and started wrapping it around the glass jar using a little bit of glue hot with the jar completely covered, I just trimmed off the excess and I think for two dollars and fifty cents it's really nice.
A way to try a trend without spending a lot of money and for the next project I wanted to remember, I think it was my first dollar tree fall video, which was when I made this pumpkin fall lighted garland that I really like and still I have it all. I had to do is change the batteries and I want to put this in my son's room for the fall. All you need is one of these dollar tree battery packs, as well as some zip ties, pumpkin picks, and the really affordable garland. way to get a lighted garland and it's obviously a smaller scale but I think it looks great just putting it on a dresser or something like that that's a smaller scale so to start I'm just tying the lights to the garland and then I'm going to throw some pumpkins in there just to liven it up a little bit and make it feel a little more festive if you wanted to add something like this to your stairs, um the only thing I would say is just make sure you tape the battery pack underneath. so you can't see it because it's pretty big and you just want to make sure you disguise it somehow, so that's why I like To put it back on the dresser, I can put it back there, but you don't have to see it all the time, so to add the pumpkins, I'm just going to hot glue them, not to the lights but to reality. garland and for only about five dollars I think it gives you some really nice ambient lighting during the fall season.
Another older project but still one of my favorites that I still have to this day is the faux leather repair tape vase and I think the hurricane base is probably the best face you can find at the dollar tree for the price, so if you ever see them on your dollar tree, I like to have a couple in my craft section so I always have them because there is always something you can do with them, so to do this project I grabbed this ribbon brown leather repair and simply wrapped it around the base of the hurricane making sure my first mark was as straight as possible so that each subsequent wrap would be straight as well. but the good thing about this is that no adhesive is required.
I'm not ruining the vase. I can literally take it all off and the vase is still like new. But I still love this project. I think it is very appropriate as I have done it before. I mentioned before, I love wearing leather during the fall and I think this project is so easy to wear. You can do it in less than five minutes and less than five dollars. Another older fall project that I really love was the calendar print wall art, wall art especially for The season can be quite expensive, but if you go to the dollar tree you can make it very affordable, so I grabbed one of the brown 11 by 14 frames as well as one of the mats, the mats are for an 11 by 14 photo. but they are cut to fit an 8x10 print, so if you get the dollar tree calendars you will want to just cut them out to the appropriate size and also to the appropriate season.
The great thing about this is that you can literally take them. a picture of each different season and change it up and it's a very affordable way to get artwork that can grow with you as the seasons can change and I know these calendars are old so it won't be exactly the same but I did it recently I looked at the calendars that the dollar tree sells and found a lot of comparables that would be great and very appropriate for this type of project and I think it's a really affordable way to change up your artwork seasonally, but on a budget for the next project is an older project, but a project that I still love and am really looking forward to is the sweater chandelier again using the dollar tree hurricane bases and an old sweater that I wasn't using.
I simply cut the sweater to the appropriate size and taking some hot glue wrapped the fabric around it and it is a very inexpensive way to get a cozy fall decor. Another fall project I've made in the past was this pumpkin topiary and I grabbed two of the foam pumpkins now since I haven't seen these exactly. pumpkins on the dollar tree still this year, but they had them last year and I think they will be arriving soon, so there is a substitute you could use if you don't find them exactly this year, but for now I'm sure I'll come and you can have them in your hands, so to start, all I did was remove that little stem at the top that comes off very easily.
Everything is made out of styrofoam so everything is really easy to use and I just made it using a box cutter just to cut that little hole in the center because I want all my flowers to be able to fit inside everything so I cut a hole in the top of one and in the bottom of another. and then right on top of the other one and I left the bottom of the second one full so my flowers could fit inside and feel nice and cohesive, but before I stacked the pumpkins on top of each other I just wanted to paint them.
This is very loud, it's very orange, so I wanted to make it a little creamier and more neutral and then I can have a lot more fun with my flowers that way, so I gave each pumpkin two solid layers and left them. to dry overnight and when I came back the next day I simply glued one directly on top of the other so that that way all the holes matched up nicely so my flowers could sit inside for the next project. This is actually something I made for Christmas, but I've since pulled out this home decor piece that I made during the fall because I think antlers and those types of materials always look good in the fall and transition well into Christmas so as you can see I have a collection of antlers that my stepdad has found for me over time so I like to use them in projects because they remind me of him and I think they look cool and when I look at decorating places for him

high

end home and they sell them for a small fortune, I know I can do it for a lot less so I just messed around with some of the different antlers and all I did was hot glue the two places that connected together, no However, I wanted to mention since that time one of the ends was coming loose so I decided to reinforce it with some super glue gel and then I filled it with a candle and I know Pottery Barn was selling this for 99 but this literally at that time it was a dollar tree.
I was only selling things for a dollar a piece, it cost me two dollars to make this which is really amazing and for the last dollar tree fall home decor project I wanted to share with you is when I made these metal wall hooks that now I could have used. the one that sells the dollar tree, but I actually prefer what I found at the thrift store for an even cheaper price for the hooks that we are going to attach to the real wood. There are so many great selections, but I really loved the modern. of these heavy duty magnetic clips sold at Dollar Tree are such good quality for only a dollar and 25 cents and I wanted to be able to hang things on them but also hold things inside the clip like pictures, notes and things like So, this wood recovered was 24 inches wide and each magnetic clip is two inches wide, so after doing some very simple calculations, I spaced each clip four inches apart from the previous one before attaching the metal clips.
I just wanted to secure that support. with a little extra hot glue so it would be nice and flush when I go to place it on the wall to attach each clip. I decided to use a combination of super glue and hot glue. If you ever combine adhesives, start with the one you need. more time to cure and finish with the one that is fast acting so I first glued all the clips and then one by one I applied hot glue and then attached it to the reclaimed wood piece and all in all this project cost me less six dollars, which compared to things I've seen online, it's real steel and I love that juxtaposition between the modern black clips and the really rustic wood and I think depending on how you style it, I'll put this little broom here which gives me like witchy vibes and then I have this black and white family photo with a black apron and I think it looks really complete and appropriate for the season and that's all I have for you today, thank you so much for checking out if you like I liked today's. video, be sure to give it a big thumbs up and tell me in the comments which fall dollar tree home decorating project was your favorite or which one you plan to try and I'll see you in the next one, bye.
