Mar 28, 2024
Crazy things have been happening, yes, since I last saw you all. I mean, it breaks my heart that we're starting once again with this kind of topic, the latest mass

shooting

in the United States on Saturday night in Colorado at an

lgbtq

plus

nightclub

where five people were. killed and at least 25

injured

no motive has been revealed, but happy and other activists are pointing fingers at the rise of anti-

lgbtq

rhetoric and political policies and other people are saying, you know, once again, an AR-style rifle -15 was a weapon of choice and you know, I know what I want to say is key, you know, this is what rhetoric brings, words matter, words matter and people like Lauren Bovard, who you know has been at the forefront to criticize lgbtq plus people. now you say your prayers and thoughts go to the families, well they don't really need your prayers and thoughts, they may need your votes, that's what they needed, yes they know it, and this is not to belittle prayer, but They already know what's happening.

Here I mean, I see and I know that you hate when these things happen because we're pointing fingers at people, but this is crazy, well, it's heartbreaking, it's horrendous, it's unacceptable. It also caught my attention that it is as if every time the lgbtq community takes a step forward. It feels like five steps backwards, so last week we were all celebrating the codification of marriage equality in the Senate and I was glad that some Republicans came, but it was a lot fewer than it should have been, it should have been a hundred senators, um, and instead, I see something like this happening and the increase in crime and attacks against the lgbtq community have increased so much.

More Interesting Facts About,

Yeah, I mean I think this is the vocal minority in the country that is hateful and intolerant is the minority when I look. Given the fact that 84 of the young people in this country support that marriage requires quality, that means we are moving in the right direction, but it is the small group that needs to be denounced and called out because words have consequences. I tend to think it's the politicians um and not so much maybe the rhetoric and and and that kind of thing because yes, it was advanced in the Senate, right, uh, the marriage equality bill. 37 Republicans voted against, we had at least 12 who defended civil rights. but if you look around the country this year, there have been over 300 bills introduced to restrict lgbtq rights in 20 and 23 states in the nations and it is the largest lgbtq advocacy organization in the country, The Human Rights Campaign is terrified of it, so yes, maybe we have some kind of protection so you can marry the person you love, but what about these 300 bills in 25 states and I keep wondering if you don't want to go to a gay club because you don't like it?

Gay people don't go to the club, yeah, why do you have to shoot yourself in the pub? If you don't know, you want to be a person married to a gay person, then just don't marry a gay person, but I think so. It goes far beyond DC and politicians. I think we are living in a time where people have taken a moralistic banner in their way of living and slammed it over the heads of people as someone who was raised in the church. It breaks my heart. that people use religion as a weapon in the way that they are doing it because self-righteousness, which can seem a little elusive when you look at it, is the division of people, is looking at another person and focusing on their differences and being better than them there.

There are millions of quotes in the Bible about how wrong that is. I was raised to love your neighbor and we are not judges. There is a power that has that power. There's a place for that, but we're here to be inclusive and you've never found a more inclusive place than a gay bar. I've spent a lot of time with them, they're super friendly and super fun and the part that really gets me is that they're the reason gay people have always had queer people. they have had stigma they have always faced it themselves personally in their own lives in the outside world it increases as time goes on they were in a safe place when this happened they were in a place that accepts them for who they were and someone came to that place, I don't know if they hide behind religion because I said this on this show once before Jesus was the Grand Marshal in the gay pride parade.
I'm not talking about gays, I'm talking about every argument we have, but here's your weapon. religion but it is wrong if you are so afraid why do you go there? Yeah, if they scare you that much, leave them alone when things scare me. I leave it alone if I don't want to be bothered. I'm not going there. that's the problem, you don't want to just have your feelings, you want everyone else to join you and you know what you can, you can scream, you can curse, you can do all the things you say, but you know what gays are here.
You're not going anywhere, there's nothing you can do, you know, you can scream and scream, but you know, like the Lord, like everyone was talking about, you know, made in the image of God, yeah, made in the image of God, no there is, except there is nothing of. Not that, keep that in mind when trying to determine where you stand as a human being, much less as a Christian.
