Welcome to the fourth part of the LEGO moon base. Finally today we start with the underground base itself. So far we have built many landscape modules that I just put back together here and today we finally have them. Let's cut to the chase, we're starting here in the front area with the base. First of all I will start with the basic design, what comes here is the first door of the lock, it is a kind of sliding door, I will do it. I show you exactly the mechanism and in the front area there is this lock where you can go through two doors.

The base comes in, it was a little hard to be satisfied that I had the crossfade here. I simply installed those diagonal white stripes. Note that you don't necessarily have to stop there. I installed some valves in the wall, vents, among other things, because that's where they are. Air must be pumped out when you are in the airlock after there is no atmosphere in it. lunar surface and then in the research lab I have prepared some studs, otherwise most of it is paved as usual with some white markings around where the individual research modules are located.

Come in, so to speak, this is the first investigation. capsule and it is being tested under what conditions you can create artificial atmospheres on the lunar surface and then grow plants there and grow food, of course that is the long-term goal and maybe even internally so a small biotope under the surface of the moon. and that's exactly what's happening here in this research lab inside the base, I'll just use the old astronauts, that's what you wanted, and then the newer, more realistic astronauts will be outside in the back. In this remaining large box there is a slightly larger biotope, so I am currently priming it with green.

I'm going to put very dense plants there. You can also see everything separated there again. another glass door and a large window that you can also look out of because that is of course the goal, it stays open and now I have prepared below how I want to make this exact piece of the moon removable. First of all, of course. , now I have to remove all the knobs in the area where I then take out the piece of moon can, so to speak, it will be very, very satisfying if you can actually lift it up like that and then see the entire moon base.

I built a little extra room in the corner that you can see, I'll show you at the end this is how it turned out. Due to the shape of this square there is still a little space left and now I can just continue. modeling the lunar surface on this platform and of course I have to make sure I don't install all the transitions inside this module. I already know from normal city updates, I always really like to build something between modules, which in this case of course had to be strictly avoided, yes, whether it worked or not you will see at the end, but I think you can already Guessing from my reaction that it didn't work so well in the front area, so I had to rebuild everything a bit because of course there is a second door for the lock.

On the moon there is no atmosphere outside for a very short time, that means you have to have two doors in this intermediate area that you can then go to. Then air is introduced, an artificial atmosphere is created, and then only the actual research

atory can be entered. Of course, the door I'm currently building still wobbles pretty hard without me having the guide rails, but that's easy. It's solved by simply placing two blocks of six next to each other with a space of two and then we have the guide rails for the door, the simplest mechanism ever but it works and I'm very happy with it because in a normal house I would do it.

Of course it's too thick, this construction is now a three stud wide wall. I can hide her so well in my mouth that it was the most perfect building technique for her. In a normal home, there are other construction techniques for sliding doors, but here it was. I thought this is absolutely perfect in this entrance area. Now I just need two more lights to make this area a little more noticeable and recognizable as an entrance area, so you can see that there is a little bit of landscaping. today as an exception I have it built very quickly here for you in 30 seconds, again the absolutely cheapest colors installed underneath with these 16 and 12 bricks and so on.

I haven't put a crater near it. underground lunar base yet, it will only work on the next module turned off, I think you can already see it down there anyway and all the craters are in a dark blue spray as they currently are in contrast to the light blue spray of the rest of the surface of Moon. Now I've tried some other things. Example, what if you had these little glass boxes outside where you could try to grow plants using natural sunlight, of course, to keep the temperature there and what not? I don't know, it's not that energy efficient, but it would just bring a little bit of contrast on the surface of the moon.

Now you have to tell me if this is a sensible thing to do and I'll definitely leave it at that but I'll probably even go back to building something a little bigger like that so I'll have to build the dish myself and now that I have a room that hasn't been shown yet , I'll just take the piece of moon above. the base and you will remember the transitions of modules that I did not want to rebuild, well, it only worked mediocre well, well, now I have admitted that I am in favor of that. The video was a little stupid. but I improved it so now it is the finished function.

Now you can just take out such a wonderful piece of moon and then you can look inside and see the room in the corner that I haven't told you about yet. I'll come back to this mouthpiece here very briefly because I wanted to show you something else. The reason I left this border here with two studs wide on the outside is because from the side when you remove the thing there are these different plates and some history. It could have been seen from the side, that's not the case here and it just looks nicer and softer like this and with that I would say we can take out the moon piece again.

I think that's just the best you can get. The back of this corner I hadn't shown you yet, this is now our water supply for the entire plantation and in general for this research base here. This just came about because the easiest way I built was to take a square piece of the moon. and then I had this corner left over. I thought it would still be a great idea to use it for this purpose. My thinking with these different biotopes here at the research station was that the researchers would just do a little testing of what the exact conditions are.

The plants needed to grow things. By the way, things here can also open up, which means that's another cool feature because you can change the plants if you want and that was actually the main point of this station that I looked into as well. The design is that everything works, so we imagine that we are a minifigure that comes from outside. Outside the base, that is, on the surface of the moon, there is practically no atmosphere, which means that first we have to enter the first lock, then the thing opens. , we go to the space where this red one is inside and then the lock behind her returns to now.

All of these vents come into play because now there's no air pressure there or there's no atmosphere. Now the lock here ensures that the. When the necessary oxygen comes in, the astronaut can take off his clothes and then when that happens, so can you. The important thing even before that is that there is already an atmosphere here, so this airlock opens and then he can enter here. It is very important that. There is not a single door because otherwise the research station will not work if you watch some sci-fi movies. If I've seen movies here from the side, none of this is a problem yet, so you can easily see all the details.

But if I take our piece of the moon again, I will do so very briefly. I think that's how it works. It's just going to be put here and now be careful if this is pressed firmly here, but it's a problem everywhere and it's. It's definitely too dark to see all the beautiful details in the background, which means I have the lighting set up too. I have already prepared a lot and unfortunately I have to remove it again, but it falls beautifully, that is, the wall. back lighting here, wall lighting again, that's what I already have in the houses there, I would really like to do it so that the thing is illuminated, so that you can see my cable and you can still remove it and above all yes.

If you remove it, the lighting can't hang from the ceiling, that's the point here. I've also prepared something for the outside area that my brother will probably do at some point when the time comes. I suspect that by summer, so you can expect it, I had already experimented with whether I would like to have such roads on the surface of the moon. I just outlined it here, so to speak, of course. Now it would be the case that this would be the case. You don't see studs, of course, it will have tiles, there will be nice stairs there, etc., but that's my question for you: do you want to have paths like that or tell you, but you can actually move on the surface of the moon, there it is where it is, then it's a bit unnecessary if you're completely honest, my thinking behind this maybe I can tell you again very briefly that Don't carry all the moon dust with you permanently, but it's a bit elevated from the rest, that's why.
