winter activities for cub scouts
Okay, so the point is, guys, it's really cold. of parks at this time, but we are not going to stop camping. Cub Scouts don't stop going out just because it's cold, we're necessarily going to talk about that today. We have an outdoor

winter

activity for Cub Scouts. Natalie is the outdoor chair in Tennessee, she knows all about it, she's taking the Cub Scouts outdoors. We were talking a second ago about the different climates she's taking some Cub Scouts into, so today we're going to talk for the next 30 minutes about the do's and don'ts. uh what to know about taking Cub Scouts outdoors, obviously we want to be safe, obviously we want it to be a positive experience suitable for some of our first-time campers, but the bottom line is just because it's cold doesn't mean it's cold. you necessarily have to do it. everything inside anyone have any questions for Natalie now is your chance we asked the expert this is your chance here to help us get started Natalie but why don't you give us maybe an overview of outdoor camping our Winter camp, excuse me for the Cub Scouts?

More Interesting Facts About,

winter activities for cub scouts...

Do you know what we are talking about? What are some basic descriptions of what people need to know? Know? The general rule of thumb for camping is: keep it simple and fun, but you know for us adults we'll do it smart too. In this section we're going to talk about what we want to bring with us when camping, maybe some things to avoid that are currently being touted to us as great camping gear, but maybe we want to rethink the idea of thinking about, you know, not only in snowy climates. but if you're in a wetter, muddier climate as well, what you need to think about if you're out and camping, but just two, getting out and having fun thinking about our general things that we love to do, hiking, what we need to think about. while we're out on the trails in

winter

weather, but also maybe think outside the store for those outdoor

activities

, so consider what's around you as a resource in your area and what can get the kids outside and have a lot of fun, but Before we start, I have a joke for you, oh my goodness, yes, our guests are ready today.
winter activities for cub scouts
I love Natalie, yeah let's start with a joke of course okay so what kind of jacket should you wear on a hike? What kind of jacket should you wear on a hike Natalie I don't know how good a Trailblazer of course ah yes yes yes I love it I love it so much uh for more jokes visit scoutlife.org by the way uh and again we would love to hear from you guys about what you do in the winter. We have a lot of Cub Scout leaders watching from all over the country, really from all over the world, they would love to hear your opinions on what they do during the winter and again if I have any questions for Natalie, we have her for half an hour or so, already that Natalie just told us that we're going to talk about a few different topics today and I think the first one, Natalie, has never come prepared guys that she's given us. little talking points here it's all about that gear yeah what do you mean yeah tell us about that Natalie okay my favorite thing to tell our campers before every family and spring camp.

I want you to think about what you are bringing with you when you go camping, more than anything, how comfortable your family feels will define what the experience you will have at the event will be, so my number one rule for all camping trips is that no sleeping bags with cartoon characters. I know the kids love them. I know they're selling them in stores with really cute dinosaurs and Disney characters and all that, but here's the thing guys, the most important thing when thinking about sleeping outside at night is to make sure you have a nice warm sleeping bag and sacks. about sleeping.
They are rated for different temperatures now, what you are willing to camp in Wisconsin may be totally different than what you are willing to camp in Texas. We just returned from a big event at our Council called Scout Fest that happens every three years. and we were sleeping outside in 35 degree weather at night, well the first thing I wanted to make sure was that I had sleeping bags for my kids that at least went up to 28. The thing is understanding how sleeping bags are rated. for 28, that means you also need to bring padding to put under the sleeping bag to get it to that temperature, so that's something that's very important to keep in mind, you're going to have a lot of popsicle kids at night and definitely not No I want that during winter nights, absolutely, yes, very quickly, Natalie Rob, one of our loyal viewers, recommends stocking up on warm hands.
I think those are those little things that you put inside your glove. Bruce, say hello to Bruce, who says hello to you from pack 396 in Brownsburg Indiana um Heather has a little more general question Natalie but I think it's a good question uh Heather comes from us from Hillsboro Oregon How do you get Scouts to camp if their parents Don't you camp or don't want to camp in Cub? Scouts, we have many first-time campers. I handled this like a Stout puppy leader. I'm sure you guys have faced this too, especially when it comes to them, you might be thinking, oh, winter camp, you know, I don't want to do it.
Do this I'm curious, what is your experience? What do you say to scout parents who haven't been before? Yeah, it's an intimidating prospect, especially if you have to think about the team and maybe for the first time you're thinking, oh. Many people don't know about sleeping bags. Hey, they have temperatures they are rated for. Oh, there are better tints that will help keep us a little better insulated during the winter months. One thing we found is that if we get the kids excited about going, but then we combine it with

activities

that the adults will enjoy, one of the things we always do when we camp is at our camps, we are big on promoting that food.
We'll teach you how to prepare and go a little deeper into some of the ways that we've been thrown at people by taking on maybe some outdoor cooking, it doesn't have to be as scary as it was at first. -Campers think it might be that we attract them with that we do activities we emphasize points like you will never have a better and clearer night to look at the stars scars that a winter camp with beautiful views you will be able to see things that I normally don't see and another great point to us and I have to say this is for some of our friends who are on the Lexington Council in the Bluegrass blue council is that we have Cumberland Falls, they have a moon arch.
There are only two places in the world where you can regularly see a moonbow over a waterfall, but if you camp in that area, guess what you can see a moonbow. I've never heard of it, it's like a rainbow, but I guess it's the moon. Yes and it comes out during the full moons over the walls and it's one of the only places where it does it regularly every month and winter is the best time to go out, that's amazing, yes there are a lot of advantages to camping. in the winter, uh, and like Natalie just said, uh, yeah, emphasize the fun part, great for people who are nervous, um, okay, so Natalie went back to the top.
You were talking about sleeping bags. I love the idea. You know, there are a lot of sleeping bags. It is an easy error to understand. Your kids may have brought a sleeping bag to a friend's house for a sleepover where they sleep indoors with climate control. That sleeping bag might not work when you go camping in November or December, even if you know that in some of our warm climate places the bag is made for indoor use? It probably says that on the label and it's not the type of sleeping bag you want to bring with you.
Outdoors you mentioned a sleeping pad. a little bit of insulation, I think both comfort and warmth, and also makes it a little bit softer, what else about the equipment do we need to know? Natalie, yes, warm hands, hot water bottles, that's a great suggestion, things that will make your life so much better. It's easier to make sure you have warm hats when you're in your sleeping bag. A lot of them have them where you can put it on your head. Make sure you wear hats on your head at night because it helps keep you safe. warmth and good socks, we talk a lot about socks when we talk about camping, good wool socks during the winter will also help you a lot and if you have been active during the day, you should make sure that you take off and put on clothes from the dryer that have wick, which will help keep you warmer during the nights too and will help your kids feel comfortable too.
Yes, that's a thing that comes back depending on where you are, but I would do it. imagine this happens a lot in Tennessee, it might be warm and comfortable during the day and if you move around playing, have fun, you might sweat a little early tonight, you want to get that, you want to dry off a little at night, um, get some clean clothes, love that tip, quick shout out to the DJ saying Hey guys, glad to have caught us live today DJ, we're glad to have you there. Todd signs up from Boy Scout or Scouts BSA Troop 601 in Farmingdale.
New York I bet he's cold up there in the winter. Todd would love to know what you guys do at winter camps. Speaking of places with chili, we have a lot of international viewers. Natalie Norway Norway, what do you do in the winter? I'd love to. I know about that, um, Rob chimes in on one of the benefits of winter, it's true, right, I mean, I can't believe it, yeah, yeah, thanks Rob, that's so true, definitely, I'm sure it's true in Tennessee, it's definitely true in Texas, he was dating. Now in my backyard it's a big relief, I don't have to worry about bugs.
Yeah, I agree with that and if you're in South Carolina, somewhere like near Congaree National Park, you won't have to deal with those mosquitoes on all those trails. During this time of year, perfect, perfect, yes, Rob also recommends adding a sleeping bag liner. 100 agree with that. Natalie mentioned sleeping bag ratings that are rated for certain temperatures. um, you know, that's a little subjective. I think it's true what feels warm to some. People may not feel warm, but on the other hand, a sleeping bag liner is a great way to complement that. Rob also suggests flea socks, not cotton socks, for sleeping in 100 um deals.
DJ says he even wears lightweight house shoes in his sleeping bag to keep his feet warm. Hey, whatever it takes, whatever, you know, whatever it takes to keep you warm, we're behind it 100 percent, Natalie, Before we continue with anything else we have to say about equipment, yes, I want you to think about the shoes and clothes you wear. You're also wearing yourself out in winter. It's great whether you are in a cold or warm climate. Have clothing that is waterproof during times when we might see more precipitation in the winter months. Dry boots that will help you feel. much better during the day and making sure they're slip resistant so in the winter we want a little more grip on our boots to make sure they hold up but even if you're in an area that doesn't have you know there's a lot of snow in my part of the forest, we have a lot of leaves on the trails and they get wet, it gets slippery and unfortunately I have seen even on easy trails adults who spill because they were only wearing tennis shoes in general. a trail, so that's a very important point to consider for the gear you carry with you this time of year.
That's a great point about shoes. I think again, we especially mentioned families that maybe haven't camped much. You don't necessarily realize that the tissues you use at home or even in your office or neighborhood may not be appropriate enough for, yeah, slippery wetness doesn't have to be ice, right? Just a wet ground, wet leaves, like you said, definitely look. in those shoes, okay, great, we've covered our first topic, team, let's move on to topic number two, which Natalie calls. I like this, embrace the seasons, embrace seasoned friends, there are things you can do in the winter or that are more comfortable in the winter and You might find it strange to think about it if you love warm winter and you'll wonder, How can I be comfortable?
When do we gather around the fire? Our ancestors. When did they do it? They did it in the winter months. So when we think about things. like a campfire, plus making hot chocolate, cooking, 'tis the season to do that, in fact I keep my Cub Scouts from cooking and meeting the cast iron requirements, uh, we wait until winter to do it because you know what en For some reason it's a lot more comfortable in Tennessee, sometimes we have falls, but we like to skip the falls and we go from 80 degrees to 30 degrees. It's not that fun to be around a campfire in 80 degree weather, but you know, when it feels really cool, we find each other. in the evenings with our pack, well it's dark now at 6 p.m. m.
Guess when it's cool to have a fire when it's dark we work on skits during the winter to make sure we have fun and cook now for some of you. If you're new to Cub Scouting, sometimes you think that cooking with cast iron can be a little intimidating. If you haven't had some of that training before it starts for our veterans, you might be thinking, "Give me an apple pie right now." ". I'm ready to go, we'll do it, we'll make cast iron pizza, we'll have a great time, but if you're not as comfortable cooking, you can always start with simple smores.
It's a good time to make s'mores you can do very simple cooking exercises like take a banana some marshmallows some graham crackers wrap it in aluminum foil put it on the fire even make s'mores or make hot chocolate bars with different types of uh , marshmallows are candy that goes into it or even s'mores bars, whether you make treats like that, it gives the season a little something extra and makes it fun and it's at a time when we also want a little more warmth in our lives. and when it falls naturally darker anyway, so if we can be around the campfire, it's a good time to take advantage of it, yeah, that guy, that's a great point, uh, you and I are sure we both build on a warm climate for camping and making campfires.
They're great all year round, but boy, when the temperature gets cold at night is when the campfire comes on. That's where it is. S'mores are on a campfire in Chile if you're looking to attract someone who's nervous like a new family who's never been. camping, just tell them how nice the campfire is on the nights of a nice winter camp in cold weather and I would say that, you know, hot food is cooked around and tamped, it tastes better when it's cold outside 100, that's another advantage of the cold. Weather Camp Out, we have a couple of people in the comments who are tagging some of their friends, which is a great opportunity for me to say tag your friends in this discussion.
We're halfway through talking about winter camping with our friend Natalie, who is the Cub Scout Outdoor Chair for the Great Smoky Mountain Council has a few more questions we're going to address, we have a few more suggestions, our readers and viewers, excuse me. , Natalie is very good at sharing tips with each other, so Friends, if you are not checking the commons, do it right now. DJ just commented that if they open just one package of Fritos, they put some chili and garnishes in the bag. I'm hungry and I want to go camping right now. That's all.
Sounds great DJ, I really appreciate it. I know Rob is heading to winter camp. I think this weekend or early next week he said that he's going through his checklist right now. Hopefully we can give you some ideas here. Rob, boy, yeah, so light a fire. He knows all that, I'm just going to say that he knows better in winter than in winter, he knows better. You know campfires are cool, but true. Winter camping, nothing like a winter campfire, nothing like a winter campfire and you know it too if you want. Add a little pizzazz if you have awards or awards ceremonies coming up.
Those bonfires really add an extra element when you're gathered around them and make them part of the ceremony, something I love to do. our campfires and we do it every spring and fall. The family camp has a tradition of taking some of the ash from the previous campfire and throwing it on the next one and the children become very quiet when they think about how we are sharing the passion of the campfire when our embers begin to go out. I go and take some of that powder and we'll throw it at the next one and they love the ceremony of being around the campfire with each other.
Another one, what a great idea, I hadn't actually heard that, Natalie, that's brilliant, I love that idea, amazing, very, very cool, okay, accepting the season, have we touched on everything we need to touch on this topic ? Just some other things to think about, you know? winter is our traditional time, it's a little early for us right now, but it happens on the winter blue and gold Pinewood Derbies. You can really think about incorporating the outdoors into that, we also have fireworks and you know how outdoor fireworks are done without Actually, we're blowing that we got some Diet Coke bottles and cements and we took it outside and just we have a Celebration blast so you can have all kinds of fun, we don't have to stop you from being a part of this too. and the pinewood derby, yes we have race day, but we also have workshops during the winter.
It's a great time for explorers to get out, to work on things, to get actively excited about the things involved in the winter season. It starts for us with their kits they bring in at our Christmas party that we have in the winter as well, so we start getting them excited during the winter months looking forward to that big event that's coming up, that's awesome, yeah, very, very cool, um we have a couple of the people who comment that there may be burn bans when they are camping obviously they prohibit burning campfires something to keep in mind a fellow commenter points out that you know you can cook over a propane stove, yes a propane campfire, that could be allowed even during a burn ban, uh As always, our commenters have many, many good ideas.
I want to quickly return to our friend from Norway. Camping in negative. Okay, negative 25 degrees Celsius. I don't know what that would be in Fahrenheit. uh foreigner. I will trust you. that sounds good, it's cold, that's what I'll say, but you know, not much, we're talking about this before, depending on where you live, you know, we have friends in Minnesota, you know, and we talk about winter. camping, I mean winter camping for them can be six months a year if they stay inside during the winter, we're never going out so obviously you have to adapt it, it seems like our friend in Norway or Norway is the same.
I love the idea of just embracing the season, yeah, and a few points about that too, so one thing I know we've done before with winter camping: snow is an insulation in itself, so having fun building almost like igloos and sore. That snow around you will provide extra warmth and fun for the kids, they love doing that and I wanted to mention this with a burn ban because I know we don't usually have to deal with that as much. As for seeing, like you do in the west, but in fall camp around 2019 we had a burn ban so we had a contest called campfire without fire, so each group and you could do this at the level of advice if they have camps.
If you have a pack level, maybe a den, we brought in Christmas spaces with all kinds of fun things to give the illusion of fire, but we also added tools that would help provide more heat while we were at it, so think about a campfire without fire, sometimes there is even the illusion of fire two can give us a little more happiness and also more activity, which will make the experience fun, amazing, great advice Natalie, I really appreciate it. For those of you keeping track at home, we're halfway there. through our discussion on winter activities for Cub Scouts, you can always when this video ends, you can always go back and watch it, so if you're just joining us, welcome, you can always come back, we talked about gear a second ago. and we just finished talking about this idea of embracing the season, which is a great way to put it, topic number three that Natalie has given us today, she calls it taking a hike, does that mean what we think it means? are? literally taking a hawk winter is actually my favorite time to pawn and I know it sounds crazy but if maybe you're not up for sleeping outside you can still go out and explore the outdoors.
We are lucky here in East Tennessee. We are about an hour away from the Great Smoky Mountains, where I live. Some members of our Council literally live in the Great Smoky Mountains, but we are actually five minutes from another National Park called the Great Smoky, I mean the so-called Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. and we have tons of trails and we sent these photos here, you could actually see a picture of my kids on a winter hike in December, another one of those pictures that you see looking towards a lake that was a hike from the first January we had here, so with In our pack we have a walking program established in a place where no matter how many miles you travel 5 10 15 we recognize a prize for the Cubs when they reach those milestones and the winner we love to walk in winter now November is not winter but it is getting colder We use Thanksgiving for our Gobble Wobble Hawk, take the leftovers from our Thanksgiving meals, pack them up, take a nice one to two hour hike and then find ourselves at our national park, one of their beautiful park areas, and we eat together. we have a good time burning those calories having fun getting outdoors January 1 many state and national parks have first date what they call first day hikes and you can look for them in your areas.
They often hand out stickers or patches to people who show up for those hikes and a lot of times if there are fees associated that time of year, they don't actually apply for those first day hikes, now it's one of my favorite things I've ever seen do and a shout out to the Cascade Pacific Council. in the west it's okay during 2020. During the heart of Covid they did something called Scout Quest and they used an app called Goose Chase and they gave us a lot of activities that we got points for if we went out and did and one of the things we loved was We had to leave big footprints in the snow, so we took cardboard like you see in the picture here and made footprints outside in the snow.
Some people had to make theirs in the mud, but were able to find it and take their pictures, but the winner is also a good time to look for animal tracks, especially if you are near a body of water, you will see lots of wildlife tracks, It's fun to get them thinking about hunting. bigfoot while they're out there too and another thing I love about the winter is that it's much easier to geocache in the winter than any other time because a lot of times those geocaches that are hidden there can be located in a nice Brushy area that is It's more Difficult to access in the summer months, there may be more vegetation, you are more likely to find ticks and other pests, but during the winter that becomes much less difficult, so our family does quite a bit of geocaching in the winter and we find it fun.
Our Webelos maintain a geocache within our local area, teaching children how to find their way, how to get out of geocaching if you're not familiar with it, it's like a global treasure hunt, no matter where you are, whether in the northern USA. southeast west there is a geocache near you, a discovery that has just been made and once you tell your Scouts that there is treasure to be found there, they are there, yeah boy, more, tremendous advice, take a hike in a climate cold. like everything else, we've talked about so many advantages to doing that, not the least of which, you know, depending on how far you're going to walk, you can get a pretty good performance, you know, you can get your metabolism going pretty well if you walk a few few miles some of the Webelos are a light requirement it's a few mile walk five miles I don't remember exactly the three miles three miles okay, that's a decent walk uh, to do that I mean, I'd rather do it than when it's cold, The old saying goes that it's so much easier to add layers that there are only so many layers you can take off during the summer.
It's a lot easier to add layers when you combine it with food, like Natalie said, that will keep you warm, that fuel, that engine, your body keeps you nice and warm, great tip. I love the idea of going on a hike. You should really consider hiking at any campground, but you're probably going to hike at a winter campsite. You mentioned the footprints, oh God. Oh my goodness, yes, even if you're in an area where it doesn't snow too much here in Texas, but even during the winter, like you mentioned, areas around the water in Texas and when it rains a lot and the vegetation has a lot of leaves. fallen down you can see the ground a lotlighter is the perfect time to look for animal tracks or maybe even make your own like you said right there.
I love all those tips. I love Natalie. I love her. We have a few more. people in the discussion talking about the benefits of propane fire pits, we encourage everyone again, our commenters are always very helpful to each other, sharing tips, sharing their personal stories, um, okay, anything else we need to say about making one hike, uh, uh, Natalie, yeah, one thing. I want to add, particularly during the colder, winter months, that sometimes people think, "Well, it's not that hot outside, the sun isn't beating down. You may not need as much water, just keep in mind that when you go to a higher elevation in a colder climate.
In reality, at high temperatures you are more likely to become dehydrated at this time, so always make sure you have plenty of water, even if you think you won't be as hot as usual, because you still need those fluids. Yes, yes, absolutely good advice. I appreciate it very much, friends, we have already reached our last topic. We have just a few more minutes with Natalie. Ask any questions about camping and winter camping specifically. We talked about the team earlier. We talked about just embracing the season. the cold, we just finished talking about taking a hike, our last topic of the day.
We have a few people in the comments mentioning the use of the word cabin, which is interesting because the theme of this last point is thinking outside the tent, Natalie. What do we mean by thinking outside the store? Well, you may think that's okay. I'm not really cut out for tent camping. Did you know that there are a lot of activities you can do outdoors thanks to organizations like museums, non-profits, zoos, national parks, which, because winter is the least busy season, offer really great opportunities for groups to come and maybe they have some unique camping opportunities, so the most important thing is that we do it as a pack every year and it helps us recharge.
We're all in the middle of it, our winter camp for the last two. years has been at a wonderful place called WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge they do specific Cub Scout camps we go at 6 p.m. We bring our equipment we have the whole building to ourselves and they are really focused on the steam and steam activities we do their work Of course they have upstairs, we climb Rockwell, we do science experiments and then we go to bed in their big upside down house for the night. Our local zoos do the same. They will let us take the opportunity to camp outside near animal enclosures or have indoor spaces. enclosures during the winter months that are willing to let us into our local Ripley's Aquarium, they have a place to sleep under the shark tanks that you can do if you really don't feel like getting into an outdoor tent. there are still camping opportunities and here is an important one to think about if you have a cave or cave system near you, some offer open air cave camping and the Cave Hawks are also particularly good during the winter because if you are familiar with caves, the caves actually maintain a constant temperature. all year round in the winter if you go in the summer our Cumberland Gap national park offers cave tours you will find several caves that offer cave tours and some like I said some cave systems also offer camping inside their caves so That's something you may also want to think of as just a fun activity and usually, too, if you have local colleges near you, you may find that they offer swimming opportunities.
You may think that swimming as a swimmer is just a summer activity; Guess what you'll probably be up to. a better position for pool activities, pool parties, make arrangements with your local organizations to have your lifeguards come and be a part of it and give some Scouts some special activities to keep them active and keep doing the things they still They are doing. physical things, but maybe they're doing things you don't normally think of doing a lot of people think about summer in the pool and New Year's hey two, we've done a luau, we cooked a little, we made some volcanoes with apples, we shot them I had a lot of things tropical look and we had a little bit of us outside and the kids were having a great time and that's the most important part.
Yes, absolutely brilliant. I love it. I love it. I love it. Civ. Natalie says they slept. a cave with her cubs, that's a great point about the temperature in the caves, a lot of them are 72 degrees or something all year round which feels nice and warm, during the winter you go in and it's nice and warm, that's a brilliant idea um Rusty wants to comment to let everyone know that taking care of your feet uh very very very critical we mentioned before wearing the right shoes not only if it's wet or snowy uh it becomes even more important to keep those feet warm socks the socks would go In addition to Wear the right shoes, make sure you have waterproof socks or wool socks or just an extra clean pair of socks to change into if your socks get wet.
We were talking earlier, not just about what winter is like. It can mean different things depending on where you live or live. Pamela comes to us from Florida and says that winter is the best time of year to camp. Low temperatures are in the 40s, but it is still warm during the day. That's what I think, yes, yes, I wish. Been there right now DJ Foster recommends Sorry DJ recommends Inner Space Caverns Been there before that's in Texas been there before DJ very good recommendations we have a lot of good advice again flowing in our comments We encourage everyone to check it out.
As always, this episode will remain on this Facebook page wherever you're watching it now. You can go back and see it. You can come back. Maybe you'll find other episodes we've done. That's interesting for you too, we talked a little bit earlier about s'mores, actually Natalie, we did an episode a few months ago all about s'mores and the different types of s'mores you can make, be sure to check it out . We're almost out of time, Natalie, before we let you go. Anything else we need to tell our people about camping. Outdoor. Take the children outdoors in winter.
Yes, I have a question for you. Yes that's fine. I love it. What didn't your Scouts say? After implementing a fun winter program, what won't my Scouts say? I don't know what my Scouts won't say. It's not fun. I love when we have guests who come prepared with jokes, that's what I like to do the most. I love it. Cindy says she loves s'mores. Cindy, that's literally why I was a Cub Scout leader. Well, I mean, of course, I love being around kids, but for me it was all about the s'mores. 100. Rob says Carlsbad Caverns is his Tuesday stop. going to Carlsbad Caverns next week, that will be amazing Rob, I had a great time there, I appreciate it, yeah, uh, Civ.
Natalie says Lana, Lana, Lana and more lana, yeah, she has a bad reputation because it stings a little, but it will keep you warm. In the winter I support a nice wool sweater, a wool jacket. I have to tell you that the local Scout stores have these red wool coats. I bought one for the wooden badge and you know, I saw people wearing it and I thought. well, they've always had it, it's much warmer than my Columbia gear, anything else, those red wool coats and not only do they look great, but they're practical, they'll keep you warm, they're very good, yes, exactly, what a great discussion, natalyze.
I really appreciate this. I think the general theme of this correct me if I'm wrong. Hey, there's no reason to just pack everything up in the winter. You can go outside very safely. Natalie, close any final thoughts on winter camping. Keep safe. It's simple, have fun, very good advice, thanks everyone for watching. I appreciate that we hope everyone enjoys their weekend wherever you live now, no matter the temperature, have fun, it's winter camping season, like Natalie said, winter may not have officially started yet. but it's here in a few places, so enjoy your weekend Natalie, thank you so much for joining us anytime today, thank you all so much for watching, we appreciate it.
By the way, we're leaving next week, so I want to take this moment to say Happy Thanksgiving. Everyone right now, see you in a couple of weeks for the next episode of Cub Chat Live, bye everyone, bye.
