update

to be fair, although for a hot minute my EDC was as fun as a vegan at a barbecue I had stalled a bit by changing some of my gear, trying new gear, the things I was

carry

ing were working pretty well so I carried the same thing for a while, which isn't very fun to do these upgrade videos.

I also go through periods where I go super minimalist and carry a Like a Knife wallet phone, that's it, and then I always don't have it when I need it, so I go back to full-blown EDC, 100 different items in each pocket. I have, I live in Florida, it's very hot here, so in the summer I tend to wear less in the

everyday

carry right now is probably leaning more towards the wide range of what my loads end up being, some of You guys will probably think why the hell do I want to carry so much stuff, while others will probably think my EDC is missing and wonder where my ankle pocket mess kit is. trauma kit and personal fire extinguisher, you can't make everyone happy but for me this is pretty much tailored to what I use regularly at the moment, but I also have a backpack that I carry a lot of EDC items in and I'm in the process of mark the EDC of my truck.

For those of you wondering what's up with the EDC truck series we started. Oh wow, it's about to reach a whole new level of crazy. My good friend Taylor from Best Damn EDC challenged me to see who could build the best Overland rig. year, so the series will transform from a simple truck EDC build to a full Overland platform Armageddon, mobile camp, off-road terrain, so the game on Taylor is afoot.

Alright, first thing this is like an honorable mention, not that you don't normally see people go over this when they talk about EDC, but these particular items are worth mentioning because without them my EDC wouldn't work as effectively. how he does it and they are these pants that I have talked about many times on the channel, which are the Delta Vertex LTS stretches.
It's hot in Florida so these are the lightest. You can also get the Delta stretches, which are the exact same pants but in a slightly heavier material. I have talked about it many times. I just love them. They have elasticity, so they are nice and comfortable. The knees are pleated so they don't bend at the crotch. pockets everywhere and most of the pockets are hidden, so it doesn't look like you're wearing cargo pants with 115 pockets like this pocket back here, it's like along the seams, you don't even notice it's there, but you can actually fit a full AR-15 magazine, there's one on each side, I actually use one for my phone and well, we'll see what I have in all these pockets later, my favorite pants.
None bar, lots of great pockets, they are comfortable. Stretch I simply cannot say enough about the Delta Stretch LTS, my favorite pants by far and my belt. I've talked about these before too, but I love these center belts. They are made of nice and resistant nylon. They have different buckles that you can choose from. Customize them to the length you want and they have the Click system, so they are completely adjustable. If you wear them, you will know that you need a little more flexibility and when you sit down you need a little more space. You can press this little button and they'll go loose when you sit down and when you stand up you can pull them back up and they're nice and stiff, so if you're wearing other things along your waist, a big, secure belt with a fan core.
The Delta Stretch LT Vertex Pants help tie everything together, okay, so let's start from the top and work our way down into a hat. I have a hat on like 90% like 8 95% of the time I prefer the old style mesh closure hats. It's hot in Florida, so wearing a mesh cap is a must to keep your head from getting hot. This one is from First Coast Firearms, a local gun store that I'm a big fan of. I love those guys, but anyone would do it. Me too. I wear a lot of hats, you will see me wearing many.
I can't make flat bills. I don't want to judge the kids who like that. I just look like a complete tool bag with that stuff on. I can't achieve it. I also don't like very high bills or dad hats. One of my favorites is the Richardson 862, if I'm not mistaken it's always safe to use. I also almost always wear dark colors. White hats last approx. 2 days before I look like I wipe my butt with them, they just get dirty too quickly with everything I do, they keep the sun off your face, the sweat out of your eyes, and an added bonus you don't have to do with your hair , so The hat that moves towards the arm of the watch, this is one of those items that rotates almost daily in my collection, the most worn watch is the one I have today.
My tutor, Black Bay, is an excellent mechanical watch. Nice long power reserve, like around 70 hours. comfortable, it bridges that gap where it doesn't look too stylish if you're just wearing jeans and a t-shirt which I wear most of the time, but it also looks great at the same time, everyone knows it's the guardian. good company, but like I said, depending on the day, I have an orus that I really like. I have a Rolex Sub that I wear occasionally, but I find that I wear my CIO gshock, my guardian, my orus, and some of my other watches, probably the most of the time, definitely, most of the days watches on the wrist, men's Keys, I hate Keys more than Biden, I hate steps before you get warped, that's not a political statement, the man just doesn't have a good track run with steps, so let's all agree. with that that's funny and he's bad with steps moving forward for years the keys were the black sheep of my diary carrying bulky noisy scratching other things in your pockets if you wear them on the outside they hang jingling and jingling and sound like a damn janitor Walking around the hallway finally a couple years ago when I bought my new truck I was able to get rid of all the keys.
I only have the remote control for the truck. I changed my garage door to one of those electric keypad workmen that took the keys out completely. equation I just have this nice little Pete's Pirate Life leather carabiner that my friend Pete gave me a few years ago and my keychain is a beautiful thing, simple and minimalist, it's my favorite key configuration I've ever had, and it's not I do not have keys. I have another keychain with keys that I occasionally need, like for my storage unit, a few other things, but I usually leave it at home and the few times I need it, I throw it away. my truck i keep it in my center console for when i need it the keyless entry setup in the first right side pocket this won't surprise any of you who have watched the channel for more than 5 minutes saivi, what can i say when i do it I find something that works.
I tend to stick with it, the saviv Chevalier, it's probably been in my pocket for over a year or at least a year. I know I sound like a broken record here as many times as I've talked about this, but just to get the stats for people who don't know this beautiful little bastard here 14c 28n 3 .5 in sheepsfoot blade about 4 and 1 /2 in my Carta handle reversible deep pocket clip well reversible for right or left handed people lean up and only carry it the way God intended so for all you heathens that lean down, you get ruined, great action.
I mean, I've said it a million times, you guys were probably tired of hearing me say it. Push button lock which has become one of my favorite locking mechanisms. It's just smooth. It is easy to operate with one hand. It is a great all-rounder. You're not afraid to use it because for around $70 you don't have to be precious with it. It's a VI. chevaliere in the same pocket I carry my knife in a lighter I always carry some type of lighter not only because I am a cigar smoker but because having a way to make a fire, generate a flame, is a good idea for everyone.
I carry a Zippo which always makes all the lighter boogers spit out their wine coolers when they see me light up a cigarette with it, which makes me laugh. I have always loved Zippos, even though they are just classics, they will last forever, they are just iconic I love the smell of them I love everything about a Zippo, but sometimes I just carry a cheap little Bick with a couple of wraps of duct tape around, you never know when a little duct tape is going to come in handy. as useful as a lighter, as maybe taping people's mouths shut, about the way I light my cigarettes, I'm just saying, moving towards the little zippered pocket that's on this side, right next to my others pocket airpods, nothing special here, these are just whatever. the newer version of the airpods is useful for listening to podcasts a lot of times I listen to audiobooks when I work, conference calls, all that typical jazz stuff.
I keep them in my fifth pocket or the zipper pocket of the Delta stretch pants because these little guys outsmart mommy's dick and you'll lose them in the blink of an eye, they'll slide right out of your pocket and be gone. my left pocket. Now this one has been hanging longer than perhaps any part of my EDC because I've carried an openc wallet pretty much exclusively for maybe, say, 3 or4 years old probably but the Open Sea leather hoby is pretty much wallet perfection in my opinion, it's nice, compact, minimal, still has enough room for all my cards and a few dollars in cash has a quick access pocket in The back for cards you use frequently Quality materials Natural leather Vegetable tan Handmade Veteran-owned business Gets better and better as it ages Has everything I need in a wallet No extras It's just a bad one Mom, I think my search for the perfect multi-tool may be over, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, but maybe the multi-tool is one of those things I've carried out on and off for years, but finding the right tool in a multi-tool is important. for me to justify the space and weight.
I would often carry one for a while. I wouldn't really use it much and end up taking it out of the rotation, but this new guy is the new draw of Leatherman the Leatherman Arc. I've really been enjoying this a lot. The Arc has been getting a lot of love from people right now since it came out, it has a great set of tools, it has a Magna main cutting blade which is pretty unheard of in the multi tool world, now of course you have your opponents who want to hate you. everything, for some reason or another, especially things at the higher end of the price scale because I think this is one of the most expensive Leathermans out there, but everyone I know who has bought this loves it so I What you have is for one hand only. operation so you can open it with one hand you have your normal Leatherman pliers you have your wire cutters easy to open Magna cutting blade very nice main blade each of the tools locks which is really nice typical bottle opener situation set of Leatherman bits where you can turn it in and out with different bits which is a really nice little saw which by the way I used it to cut through some branches the other day just to try and see I usually have a bigger silky one that I use to trim branches and things, but when I got out I tried this just to see that it actually works pretty well, it will fly through the branches, you know, that big or smaller hits go through them to the other side, we have scissors, this is Quite strange, something that not all multitools have, but it is one of my favorite things in a multitool.
There are many things that having a small pair of scissors is actually super handy. By far the best file I've ever had on a multi-tool because not only does it have a thickness like a metal file on this side to really dig things up, but on this side it has like a diamond blade or a diamond scale side as well that if your knife gets dull in the field, look, I'm not going to run around sharpening a ton of knives with this thing, but if you're in the field and you just need to touch one edge, it's great to have with you, then you have a flat head too or I use it as a lever bottle. opener and everything, and this is a cool little tool that I haven't had on any tool on any multi-tool before, but I really love it because when you need it, you're screwed if you don't have it, I wear sunglasses all the time.
When I don't have all my sunglasses on I also wear glasses when I don't have my contacts so I wear glasses frequently if you need a small micro screwdriver to tighten them because something falls out you're screwed. I have a small Phillips micro screwdriver on one side, flat head on the other, a very handy little one that I haven't seen much of. This particular toolset for me is all I really use. I'll report that I've only been carrying it for about a month or so. We'll report back when I've carried it for a few years and if it actually ends up staying in my pocket, but I think I might be able to pull it off.
I think he might be the one now. I feel like the next one is I'm going to separate the men from the boy, so to speak, your knife guys will totally agree, but I can already hear the pain of certain types of people. Why the hell do you carry so many knives? How dangerous is the area? live there, there's no need to carry that many knives, there's no need to have weapons strategically hidden all over the house or sleep with a 300 suppressed Blackout next to your bed, but I still do it. I recently added a fixed blade to my EDC.
There are some tasks that are done more easily and safely with a fixed sheet over a binder, but it's a tricky balance, too big, it's uncomfortable and you probably won't carry it too small and I don't know, I'm just not. I'm a big fan of really small knives in general, if I can't get a good grip on them I just don't feel it, that's what he said, that's what he said, that's what he said, well so I've been carrying this little one . gem here for a while this is the Blue Ridge Hunter knife from Winkler. I must say that I am a big fan.
He has a Full Tang 80 CR rv2 high carbon steel with a black oxide finish to help with rust and stuff. So because high carbon steels tend to be a little rusty. It has a maple handle with the test engravings on it, which I thought was a really cool little detail. It has an excellent leaf shape. I think they call it drop point, but I guess you. I'd call it a drop point, it's the closest EG I can think of, just a great general purpose blade shape, it's got a bit of a belly to it, which is good for cutting and stuff, even if you had to skin a bit. with it or something like that it could be for self defense.
I don't generally carry knives for self defense, but if you needed to flex it in that category, I feel like this knife would work great, you have what they call a nice built-in. finger guard I don't know if you'd call that a choil or whatever, but it's launched here by the blade and a nice thumb ramp with a really good tool on the back for hindering, which is nice and grippy, so which feels really good, you have a good grip on it in your hand and it wouldn't slip if you were doing some stabbing tasks, you wouldn't slip on the knife and cut yourself, it has a 4 inch blade, it measures 8 8 in total Enough big enough to feel like I have a fixed blade, but it's not so big that it's cumbersome.
I also love the cover. It's a leather case, but it has some sort of soft material on the inside and wedged in the middle. the leather and the material is like a kidex where not only does it hold pressure like a sheet of leather or you don't need to have a thumb loop something that actually holds there, it just has a really good retention with it. combination holster type, I guess that's what you'd call it. I haven't seen this type of sheath on many knives before, but I'm a big fan, it feels very sturdy and like it's there, but it's also leather.
So the parts that touch. your body is nice and soft, it looks good too, it has these discreet carry clips that you can clip on a belt or your pants and you can also twist it to carry it like a normal carry up and down, it will go to the side if you are doing like a scout or something where the clip moves like I have it on before you guys even realize I have it there, it goes up nice and high, so with your shirt unbuttoned you don't. I even see something of the knife. This is the first fixed blade I have carried in a long time.
I do not know, man. I think with this fixed blade and this Leatherman I might be getting close. I'm really quite focused. my carry now moves to the front of the belt line where I normally carry it, let's get ready to shoot some people even more. I carry a firearm at any time to leave my house. My favorite over the last few years has been the Sig p365 XL. I'm not going to go too deep into too many details because YouTube is not very bank friendly. I've been using this particular append platform for a while. This is the companion from a company called North Coast Tactical, big fans, big guys, they have some.
Great cases with all kinds of customizable options. I mean, look how sexy he is. I don't even know what kind of multicam it is, what pattern it is, but it's sexy. F and then they match the eyelets and nice flexible things, so it's comfortable to wear all day, just a great fan, that's all I'm going to say about this part, like I said, unfortunately, we have to be careful with the bank stuff, but If this is something that interests you and you want more details, let me know in the comments below and maybe I'll do a full video with the details on my second channel.
I have to live that life on the bench moving towards my back pocket and I don't like to keep a lot of things in my back pockets, it's bulky because then you sit on it and end up feeling side nerve pain and it's uncomfortable, not a big fan , but old Mighty Hank fits in there, just perfect. I've talked about these guys many times on the channel. This is, uh, going back to the broken record bill. These are cool because they have something like a magic cloth on one side. They are great for cleaning prescription glasses. Sunglasses I use this on my cambera lenses all the time this magic cloth really is magical how well it cleans any type of lens or glass you have tons of different designs and things you can get to match whatever you want it folds up goes right into your back pocket I don't even know it's there until you need it, good stuff and last but not least in my other pocket here, it's not actually my back pocket, it's this other pocket I was talking about with these pants, It's like next to the back pockets. right here, this pocket, right here, the one that also fits a full magazine, that's handy there, but I tend to carry my phone in that back pocket because it fits perfectly, keeps it out of my main pockets, but it just fits in there. and I'm not sitting on it, but in that pocket I have my phone, nothing special, just an iPhone 15 16.
I don't know what it is. I've only had it for like a year, so it's pretty recent, Pro Max, whatever the newer thing is. Shit, I used to be very fond of keeping up with all the phones, now I use them until they start to slow down and drive me crazy and then I buy a new one. Leather case, pretty standard stuff, not too particular, other than it's not an Android. Android guys are always in group chats, that's going to piss some people off. Jesus. I almost forgot my flashlight and that's how cool these pants are.
You forget the things that are even in them. I'm telling you, these pants are the next level, the Streamlight wedge. I think I made this I think it was like budget EDC or something. I mean, I'm not one of those guys who needs to carry a $500 flashlight. I like this one, it has a decent brightness and is plenty bright for what I need. uh, for EDC purposes, it's rechargeable, so I don't have to worry about batteries. I can load into my truck if it starts to run low or wherever it's flat, it's very similar. I said in the last video, it's crazy, the similarity to a Microtech.
I'm surprised they haven't reached a cease and desist or some kind of lawsuit with a similar appearance to this thing and because of this form factor it sits nice and flat and has a deep pocket clip so it fits in that pocket and I honestly forgot which is there until I need it, that's all I ever needed in a light and, uh, it served me well. I think we're actually done with the EDC

I'm going to think it won't be a positive year for Taylor, because I'm willing to scream his ass off like him. He owed me money.
