Blanket Fort Camping

at a real campground. I wasn't expecting so much snow, but this video was planned in advance, so I'm doing it. Anyway, I'm not going to wait for the snow to melt. I have to go get some

blanket

s from a thrift store. uh 48.64 perfect colors. I found a good place. I paid for the good time to go

camping

. I found the perfect place to camp. The trees are right where I want them to be. It would be setting up this blanket

fort

, but on the other side of that log there is a walking trail and people were literally walking past it, which will be a good 10 feet from where the front of my store is and I don't want to. scare people, there's a fine line between this creepy and whimsical look and I want it to look like I'm here having fun and not setting up camp, so without further ado, let's figure out where this Ridge line is going and what I guess is probably a height so because I'm using clean queen size sheets and if they come down at a good angle they should work to safeguard the tree.

I'm using hammock straps around it and then we'll do it. ratchet strap nice and tight between these trees and hang it right here, that sounds good to me, oh great, no good, so keep all the blankets nice and clean to start with, we'll hang my favorite, this one has all the nice canoes and everything It's really aggressive clamps, like using them for the clothesline if you live in a tornado zone, oh yeah, and this blanket I find exudes a beautiful forest green. Now I'm not using them as bedding, it's strictly a shelter, but if it were, I'd be washing this because it has that thrift store smell that, you know, some people may like, but it's always good practice wash these things after buying them.

I can't believe this is true, but I've slept in worse conditions, let's see if I can. put a wall here, yeah, the looks from the serious campers here are starting to get. Hasn't anyone seen a grown man sleeping in a blanket fort before? Hello, everyone was outside the store, thank you. I will do that. I'll leave this. The open sleeping bag is a nice flat, it definitely looks cozy in here, it's nice and quiet, plus it blocks out noise from the neighbors. I like this luxury air mattress tonight, my hip was destroyed after the last camping trip so I deserve a nice relaxing night.

On The Gourmet self-inflating air mattress, I'll put the door in the front here, before I go to bed, for sure, because the trail is right there and this is a great little house. Greetings to all. All you need is a pair of ratchets. straps, some blankets and some really aggressive clothespins, you got a makeshift tent right there, there are normal, healthy campers there with fancy gear and campers and to show you how close I am to the hiking trail, that's all here and we are. I'm going to walk along it because it goes to the beach, but yeah, we're on the walking trail and if someone walks by, that's what they see, well, I don't have to be sneaky here, foreigner.

I can see how you can spend hours going. a long walk on the beach but it's not going to clear the snow off the picnic table eventually I have to get ready for dinner and daylight is a good time to do it I leave things in the dark thanks I had to ruin a bit of noise white because the people at the other camp are playing copyrighted music and, uh, there's a fire and they go out and we can go back to the relaxing sounds of the ocean next to us, they've turned the music down so it's cool.

I'm still talking a little loudly, but I don't care that I found my flashlights before it gets too dark. Garlic bread because I'm having salad tonight. The ingredients are in the car so they don't freeze. I have lettuce. and cucumbers, whatever is supposed to go in a salad, it's almost freezing, so zero degrees Celsius, 32 degrees Fahrenheit, walk in the park guys, it's actually really hot or feels warmer because of the wind in here and I'll get another part in the front cut out. I arrived here for a relatively short time, but until bedtime, I like to see the fire there more than this.

I never thought I'd ironically be dicing shallots just making a simple halibut salad with white wine cream sauce, of course, not quite camping with Steve. unless you're deglazing your fried halibut, man, a little bit of Pinot Grigio shallots, white wine vinegar, that one's still unopened and still foreign, we let it reduce. I'm going to let this cool before I pour a bunch of cream in here. this spring mix with spinach, um, it's only half frozen so it's pretty good, oh I don't know what any of this is, well that's what I'm dealing with. I'm going to include some more familiar friends, uh, you know. that's what I'm going to make myself eat tonight these leaves look like something I'd be plucking from the garden but they don't taste bad the fish is delicious pretty successful night uh eight healthy which is something new and I'm going to try Pin the front of this carp here, oh, I got my thumb there a little bit, yeah, the blanket tent is incredibly cozy, right outside the door, there's a fire there and, uh, Forest blankets, blankets everywhere, really cozy.

I wish I had done this 35 years ago, um, this is amazing. almost like blackout curtains. I won't know exactly what time it is in the morning, but when I get up we'll start the day and see what happens. Thanks for follow me. I'm going to turn off this light here and press. hay see you in the morning good morning from now on I'll be camping in blanket forts this is amazing it's enough insulation it keeps you pretty warm keeps the sound to a minimum you still get that feeling of fresh air and freshness uh this is totally fun and yes, you don't need much to go camping, just some blankets, a ratchet strap, and some clothing containers.

I wouldn't really do it in mosquito territory or if it's raining, but it was great, it looks like there's some snow. starting to fall and I'm going to make a quick breakfast here. I was going to make a quick brunch and then pack up, but I think I'll stay another night. The blanket fort held up very well and I have nothing to do today, so why not? make it two nights instead of one as usual and that gives me a chance to go through and organize the car because it's so full of camping gear you wouldn't believe, oh, just the energy I need to take on the day at the lake . when the syrup gets on the eggs, it gets weird and, uh, you can assume the car is empty, no my friends, the car is not empty, there's still more stuff in the car, but let's condense that I have all this camouflage. net and it's not folded, it's just stuffed into a bag that will get smaller of course, some random tent that I haven't used yet a small folding stool, a hammock, a propane pizza oven, um, everything This is stuck in my car, I got this hunt. blind that I hope to use in a stealth camping video is, you know, super stealthy if I need just a little bit of camel if I'm somewhere almost obvious this could be good thanks other things in the car and another mattress uh and all the other kitchen utensils, so where did it start?

All this piled up here, if folded correctly, is this size, so it will clear up some space. It's been an absolutely lazy day. It's actually quite relaxing. The camp is not there. Pretty deserted uh, I'm not the only one dumb enough to be here in this weather, however, other people have proper motorhomes and RVs and things like that, so with all those pieces of camouflage fabric I think I'm going to have to give me compression. bag for them because they are so wrinkled they aren't going to fold properly and I'm going out next week after another video I have planned and I'm really going to go through and organize the caravan trying to fix things by installing a new reversing camera so I can reverse easily with one person, it's a little tricky to back up a small trailer like that, especially when you don't know what you're doing, which I don't. so a little practice and a camera should make it easier.

A heavy snow warning was issued this afternoon. I've been keeping an eye on the radar and it doesn't look too bad, but they're saying there could be 15. or more inches of snow that could be in the neighborhood of five or six inches at worst and I'm not seeing it on radar yet. I have some C-clamps and other things that I can use to reinforce the Fortress tent if the time comes. I'll tough it out, I think I can do this. It may require a lot of crouching, but we'll see what happens with the weather. So far, so good, the wind doesn't seem so bad.

I'm waiting to light the fire for tonight. I'm just going to cook some hot dogs tonight. A pleasant, relaxing, ordinary night, where nothing goes wrong. I've been in this blanket fort for two days and it's holding up much better than a lot. of homemade structures that I made before good morning, it seems like a beautiful day and I think it's time to get back to reality. I can only hide my blanket fort for so long. I haven't seen a blanket with snow like this. In a fortnight, I guess it's time to take down the fort general.

How easy will it be to take him down? What could be easier than this? So, of course, a shout out to the people who have donated to the general fund. I appreciate it very much, yes, yes. I really like this blanket, yes it got quite wet, but it's okay, going to the laundry and that was to be expected, it doesn't surprise me and yes, I will keep this one because it has a lot of things from nature. Both the black bears and the grizzly bears are here, as well as, you know, the canoes, the leaves on the trees, all the time, it's actually really a surprise that there was such an appropriate blanket there at the thrift store and yes, the other will be re-donated. but this will be good for the camper and a nice souvenir from my blanket fort.

Adventure. The nice thing about wet blankets is that they pack up smaller and are long enough to stay overnight. I don't see anything easier. There is a room here. Yes it was. great adventure I wanted to do this for 40 years so I'm glad I finally did it and please try it yourselves it was great and you don't need much to go camping as long as it's not raining and there are no mosquitoes. everywhere no snakes or anything like that, but they are absolutely perfect.
