Behold a White Horse - Session 2 - Chuck Missler

Mar 29, 2024
Well, welcome to the second

session

of our exploration of

behold

a

white

horse

. Interestingly, this is probably one of the most dangerous mistaken identities we will ever encounter. We talked a lot about last time, but let's keep that in front of us. It's dangerous to be wrong about the question: who is he and why is he so dangerous and the other question that will lurk is is he alive today and just to give you that answer up front, I think he is, but it's got a footnote. We'll get into it and how we know and that's what we're going to cover here.

Session 1, of course, featured the whole

white

horse

thing, the masquerade involved, and a recap of his career that we covered last time. In this

session

we will focus on his identity. He is called the seed of the serpent. Because? Are there any prerequisites for his appearance? That's another thing we'll deal with. Now we can't cover everything that has been written about it because it turns out that it is one of the most prolific topics in all of Scripture, but we have an appendix that we are going to talk about that will list the different expectations that different groups have.

More Interesting Facts About,

behold a white horse session 2 chuck missler...

We'll talk a little about that. Well, let's start by reminding ourselves that There are 4 disciples who came to Jesus for a briefing on the end of times. 4 of them ask about his return. Peter James and John and Peter's brother Andrew and receive a private briefing. It happened to be night on the Mount of Olives, so call it the Mount of Olives Discourse, it's recorded in Matthew 24 and 25, not Luke 21, the way many people are confused by it, it's also practically a duplicate in Mark 13, so any of them will work and the key that Jesus points out to you in that report is a 4 verse prophecy that is probably the centerpiece of all eschatology called the 70 weeks that Gabriel gave to Daniel and It's in 4 verses, verse 24 is the scope, then there are 69 of those weeks that are detailed in what I think is the most notable. verse in the entire Bible Then there is a strange interval and then there is a final week that the last week of years is separated there is an intern between 69 and 70 we will touch on that but the 70th week is the climax of events that simply proceeds that the Lord interrupts with his return.

So let's first take a quick look at the scope to understand what we are dealing with here. Gabriel says in Daniel 70 seven seven are decided upon your people upon your holy city to finish transgressions to make an end of sins to make reconciliation for iniquity to bring eternal justice to seal the vision of prophecy and to anoint the most holy place Now there are 70 sevens in the Hebrew calendar you can have 7 days 7 weeks 7 months or 7 years that is all commonly used here we are talking about 7 years and they are determined about Israel, this is not about the church.
behold a white horse session 2 chuck missler
In fact, the church is in an interval, as we will note, the focus here is Israel and the city of Jerusalem and the extent of this can be spoken of. about some of the details that are clearly not complete, but we haven't put an end to the sins and so on, so the visions haven't been sealed, so this is a broad scope of everything eschalogically, but then they are highlighted in Daniel 9:25 69. weeks and it is a mathematical prophecy Gabriel tells Daniel to know, therefore, and understand that from the departure of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem until Mashiach Nagid the Messiah, the King will be sixty, it will be 7 weeks more sixty 2 weeks and the streets will be built again and the wall, even in difficult times, keep in mind that it is not about the temple, it is about the city of Jerusalem and the Holy Spirit to make sure it is not lost, that puts that little clause at the end, but the main point is -- there is a distance between two events, one is the going out of the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem, keep in mind that Daniel was a slave in Babylon at that time and the 70s, the 70 years of captivity that he knows are about to end, probably 67 have passed, and he is getting ready for the climax, but from that commandment until Mashiach Nagid there will be a specific period of time from the commandment to restore Jerusalem until the Messiah the king will be 7 weeks and we are indebted to Sir Robert Anderson who actually discovered the fact that God uses 360 days in both Genesis and Revelation, so 69 times 7 times 360 turns out to be 173,880 days.
Well, we know when it started, we can trace it back in history. It was the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus on March 14, 445 that gave them the authority to rebuild the city of Jerusalem. Do not confuse it so much with the temple, there are actually 4 different decrees, that is the one for the city of Jerusalem. The question is when the Messiah was allowed to be presented as King and when it is studied. In your gospels you realize that he did not allow it except on one day when he arranged it well, that turns out to be what we call the triumphal entry of April 6.
Now what makes this provocative is and incidentally note that all this was part of the Old Man The Testament was translated into Greek 3 centuries before the ministry of Christ, so for perspective, this was part of what is documented in the translation of the Septuagint into Greek that was done in 285 BC. C. Well, it turns out that when you review the arithmetic, the 445-32 and you go through the difference in days and let's make the correction for leap years the surprising discovery is that it is equivalent to 173,880 days in other words what was the zero margin of error of Gabriel is telling Daniel the exact day 300 years in advance that Jesus would appear as a king.
Now the amazing thing is that Jesus held him responsible for it, let's look at what happened in Luke 19, talking about Jesus riding that donkey. , says: "When he was near, he saw the city" and what Jesus does. He wept over her and Jesus. says: "If you had known at least in this your day the things that belong to your peace, but are now hidden from your eyes", it is at that moment that he declares blindness over the nation, they ruined it and therefore We will be blinded in a certain sense and we'll see that in this day that quotes Psalm 118, which we generally use: "Rejoice in this day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it," you can apply that anywhere except it actually refers to this particular event. , but now they are hidden from your eyes.
Go, but not forever because Paul will tell us in Romans 11:25 that they are partially blinded until the church is complete, the fullness of the Gentiles come in. Anyway, okay, so Jesus goes ahead and makes a prediction here. He tells them why he is riding that donkey. "For the days will come upon you when your enemies will show you, they will surround you with a trench, they will surround you, they will keep you on all sides and they will put you on a level with the earth and your children within you, and they will leave no stone in you stone" That is the triumphal entry and 38 years after he said Titus Vespasian had the 5th, 10th, 12th and 14th Roman legions besiege the city in 143 days 600,000 Jews would die more from famine and everything else too .
They believe that more than 1.5 million men, women and children died from the siege in the famine that followed. Now the question is why Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD, you can think of several. There are several ways to rationalize it, but let's look at what Jesus said. We finish verse 44, he says "For you did not know the time of your visitation," that verse is amazing in the implications of it. Jesus held them accountable to know the 70 week prophecy that you knew. This is not the time for your visit. He held them responsible, that's worrying. Well, it's 69 weeks.
Okay, week 70 will be verse 27, but I want you to notice that there is a verse between 25 and 27. You and I would assume that they are contiguous, but. It's not because of that verse, okay, what happens in verse 26, let's take a look? He says that after that there are 7 weeks and the 3 and 2 weeks after the 3 and 2 weeks, the Messiah will be Karat executed for a capital crime. but not for Himself "And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and its end will be with a flood and until the end of the war the desolations are determined" cut the word is karat in Hebrew it is actually the Old Testament which tells you that Gabriel is telling Daniel that the Messiah is going to be executed, that is a surprise in many ways, but not to him but to all of us included apparently in an interval after 69 before the week has begun 70 and the prince who will come that is one of the titles that we are going to explore of the Antichrist will come to destroy the city and the sanctuary and in fact they did it well, just to diagram this verse 25 has the 7 plus 62 weeks, the 69 if you do. you want, verse 27 has the last one. week But between that is an interval what happens in that interval the cross 4 days after Jesus said he was on that cross the temple is destroyed those things took 38 years in total, we have discovered that that interval has lasted a greater part of 2000 years Okay, so what we have in that interval is the church, it is included within that, what I call interval here when I say church, I am using the term in its mystical sense, it is an uncomfortable word because we tend to think of the church As a piece of real estate we are talking about the mystical church the ecclesia so to speak.
Well, now that interval is defined from Luke 9:42 to Romans 11:25 the fullness of the Gentiles is the period of the church is an age that is maintained The secret in the Old Testament Matthew 13 is about Ephesians 3. Paul identifies that It was his privilege to reveal that secret. The church was born on Pentecost. There are many scriptures that you can search for in your notes. The prerequisites for the church to be made the atonement. It made no sense until the atonement was completed and the resurrection had to be completed. See, these are all preconditions and the ascensions, the church didn't begin until He came out so the Holy Spirit could come.
That makes sense, are we together? Let me tell you something interesting, we saw that Daniel 9:26 is an interval in the 70 weeks, there is another in Psalm 34, another in Psalm 118 and we can review others, you will discover that that interval is implicit throughout the Old Testament. I won't accept you, except that it turns out that when you count them, there are 24. Now, from my point of view, that architecture of the Scriptures itself tells you volumes that were deliberately designed so that the Holy Spirit would oversee all those books and preserve them. the fact that that interval appears 24 times, not 23 or 36, not 24, why 24, look at me, that's amazing.
When you think about it, it seems like nothing at first until you think about it, impressive and we've seen the first one. check out the last one before we go through 24 intervals in the Scriptures and of course they were identified last time, remember you can remember them in Revelation 5 "And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book and open its seals for you were slain and you have redeemed us for God with your blood, from every kindred, language, people and nation, and you have made us kings and priests for our God, and we will reign on the earth" kings and priests, the only groups, the only ones people who are the kings and priests are Jesus himself Melchizedek and the 24 elders, that is the key, he has redeemed us, made us and we will reign, so the 24 elders are sitting here in this room, they are in the compound.
Well, notice that the sequence of this is a critical part because there is a lot of controversy about what I am going to tell you: the 24 elders are in heaven worshiping the Lamb before he receives the scroll with the 7 seals. They are worshiping it before receiving the book. It turns out that it is the Lamb who has the sole Right to even look at the book and open its seals and it is the opening of those seals that begins the great tribulation. That's huge, there are many good scholars who fail to grasp the fact that the church is not going to endure the great tribulation.
Jesus tells him that in Revelation 3:20 but that is another story okay then we have the 7th sealed book the first is the white horse the second is the red horse the third is the black horse the fourth is the livid or green Chloros horse Okay, We also noticed when we started studying this that there are always 6, then a parenthesis before the 7 and while these 4 are in chapter 6, chapter 7 is a change of topic, this is paused and we have the maximum limit of 12,000 of each of the 12 tribes of Israel that heptadic structure 6 with a parenthesis before the 7 and we have the same thing - then the seventh turns out to be 7 trumpets we have 6 of those trumpets and then again a parenthesis chapters 10, 11, 12 and 14 there are a handful of chapters that are inserted before we get to deal with the 7th trumpet, that 7th trumpet then involves 8 bowls of wrath and even as it goes through the 8 bowls of wrath in chapter 15, there is a little hidden verse that changes the subject. for a verse before that structure is clearly preserved, it's quite interesting, at least, it tells you that it is designed with all the precision of a symphony, okay, the four horsemen, that's our approach, that's our approach for this setting up to date.
Why a white horse is the question? Look, this horseman is not Jesus Christ, I'm surprised how many commenters stumble over that. They miss that this, this rider, is called by one of the cherubs. That is not appropriate if it were Christ, for the cherubs to tell Christ what to do totalk. but there is so much talk about this, so much is said about this guy that it has been difficult for me to even summarize here in our 2 sessions. But let's go back, let's take a look at that 70th week of Daniel, everyone calls it 7 years. tribulation that is an error What they mean is the 70th week because the tribulation is the last half of that week let's get in here talking about the Antichrist "he will confirm the covenant with many for a week in the middle of that week he will cause the sacrifice and the oblation and by the spread of the abominations he will devastate it until the consummation and what is determined will be poured out on the desolate" He is talking about the Antichrist he is talking about this white horseman he will confirm the covenant with the many he will enforce a covenant no He does not sign a treaty, he could sign a treaty that is not what it says it should enforce;
He apparently is powerful enough to enforce a covenant with Israel. Many are an idiom for Israel here, that's one of the reasons I believe the Holy Spirit used it deliberately. a bow as an identity the bow was the identity of the first world dictator Nimrod and he uses it as an identity of the last, especially since that pact was made and its violation is one of the most significant identities we will see about him. He will confirm the covenant but in the middle of the week he will cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease. Now that also tells us that that covenant includes, it may not be limited to, but it includes a return to temple worship which is part of the implications of that covenant and it is in the middle of that week that he breaks his word he breaks that covenant he made a covenant for a week of years in the middle violates it repeals it now that is probably the most documented period of time in the entire Bible is called in one place time times and half time strange linguistics here times is dual it is in Aramaic but then it is eliminated from Aramaic but it was dual in those days then it was lost, so it is singular tense times two 1 plus 2 and 1/2 sounds strange to our ears but a classic way of saying 3 1/2 times and a half times so we don't let's confuse the angel will explain to Daniel in chapter 12 it is 3 1/2 years that is pretty simple in other places it is twice called 42 months the same period of time Then it is called 1260 days and by the way each of these idioms is use in each of the halves each half is called 42 months each half is called 1260 days if you keep track of them all down and that, of course, here is in Daniel 9:27, is called half a week, which is fair enough .
The Holy Spirit did everything but put it into nanoseconds for you and caused the sacrifice and oblation to cease, which tells you the topic includes. It may not be limited to temple worship, but it includes it, that is how we know that the temple will be rebuilt near the end because Jesus, Paul and John make reference to it in the end times, we will notice in a few verses that They are about to come. for the excessive spread of abominations, this is the very event, the abomination of desolation, to which Jesus draws the attention of his disciples.
The word abomination is a term used throughout the Bible for idol worship. The abomination is worshiping anything other than God. The abomination of desolation is the maximum. extreme of that which is not just worshiping an idol but worshiping it in the most holy place on planet earth in the temple in fact in the most holy place how do we know that because it happened and Jesus refers to the historical event that we'll get to that, let's go back to Revelation 6 "I saw and beheld a white horse and a bow that was carried on it." You might be wondering why I'm making such a big deal about that arc.
I don't think it's incidental, I think it's a deliberate pun by the Holy Spirit It's not a sword, the Hebrew is keh'-sheth, the Greek is toxon, it's not necessarily an archery tool, it's the first mention of the bow is a sign of a covenant, God himself uses that phrase, so there is a law of first mention that we talked about last time the word love first appears in Genesis 22 man is made in the creation of God, the first place where the word appears in the Bible turns out that by observation we noticed that it is very significant and the arch is the sign of a covenant there in Genesis 9 and I believe that it is the intention of the holy spirit to use it here.
Amos 2:15 says: "He who wields the bow will not stand, and he who is fleet of foot will not be saved, nor will he who rides the horse surrender himself." Interesting allusion to the bow, the bow It seems to symbolize both the first world leader, Nimrod, and the last world leader who I like to call Nimrod II. Now, you may remember that in Matthew we were talking about Matthew 24, Revelation 6 has these 4 horsemen that we've been talking about. Then we will discover that the fifth seal will be the martyrs and the sixth seal will be world chaos. When we look at Matthew 24 we find the same pattern, there are the false Christs in Matthew 24:4. 5 which deals with wars and rumors of wars and then famines and then death, they are all in the same order and what Matthew calls the beginning of sorrows or the beginning of birth pangs, then the martyrs, then throughout the world , is the same pattern in both places is a coincidence, I don't think so.
In fact, something else may be a coincidence, but I think it's curious, it's interesting that the same color of horses, white, red, black and green, are on the flags of Muslim nations. I don't think that's why they're still there, who knows. He left it up to you, but in Matthew 24 it says "You will hear of wars" and rumors of wars and all that "and be careful that you are not troubled by anything." "These things must happen, but the end is not yet" to me, I would call them no signs, yes, they are going to happen, but they are not significant markers, they are what I call no signs, why, because the end is not yet is. when they occur, they don't tell you that the end is there, in contrast to what Jesus is going to point out when he gets to verse 15.
When he gets to verse 15 in Matthew 24, Jesus says, "When you see the abomination of desolation of the one that the prophet Daniel spoke, standing in the holy place, whoever reads, whoever understands the interesting verse, is the key verse in the olive tree speech, in my opinion, it is not optional. By the way, did you notice that little one. phrase that the reader puts at the end? Let him understand that it is an annotation from Matthew. I don't know, but the Holy Spirit put it there. How many of you read that you just received a task with me?
The prophecy of the 70 weeks is not an option that you need. study until they have that is yours, but there is another technology statement here. I like to keep an eye on these technology statements "When you therefore see the abomination of desolation" now, the abomination of desolation that we know from history is when Antiochus Epiphanes erected an idol to Zeus in the sacred place. Holy of Holies because Jesus is going to reference that 160 years after it happened, it is a historical event at the time that Jesus is speaking, it is a historical event, but it is going to happen again, so Jesus is using that as an example for what is coming, but what is coming is an idol erected in the most holy place, he says to those who are in Judea in the mountains, when, therefore, you will see it.
Now wait a minute, how can you see something that is happening in a chamber that only the high priest can enter and only once a year, after great ceremonial preparation, no one, no Jew, except the high priest, has been there, but hopes everyone can see what's happening. How will they do that on BBC CNN? It will have television coverage, which is quite interesting. a statement of technology we take for granted, but be careful because then He says "then those who are in Judea" can apparently see this "flee to the mountains, let not he who is on the roof come down to take anything from his house "Let him who is in the field not take his clothes again and woe to those who are pregnant and those who give birth in those days and pray that their flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath!" he speaks to her. a Jewish audience, he is not speaking to Gentiles, you and I would not care if it is the Sabbath or not, because then there will be a great tribulation such as was not from the beginning of the world until this time, including the Nazi Holocaust, nor it never will be. it's going to be worse not on the Sabbath great tribulation notice that Jesus labels the last half of that covenant week as the great tribulation that's his label it's 3 1/2 years not 7 He goes on to say "unless those days are shortened "No flesh will be spared but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened." Again it's a technology statement, okay, that's a technology statement that wouldn't have... that doesn't make sense with muskets and bayonets that implies a technology that would allow men to totally eliminate all humanity and that technology is available today, that cloud hangs over all the geopolitical decisions that are made today on planet Earth "If anyone says to you: here is Christ or there "Do not believe it because false Christs will arise." and the false prophets do great signs and wonders, great signs they will do" were the same terms used to describe the miracles of Jesus "so much so that if it were possible for them to deceive the very elect" false Christs will arise, even one riding a white horse but it is interesting that he is not a military leader "through his politics he will also prosper art in his hand and become great in his heart and for peace he will destroy many" that is an interesting phrase for peace he will destroy for many, he He is a peacemaker, he becomes very powerful and from that he acquires military skill, he will face the prince of princes, but he will be broken without a hand, so his career begins as a peacemaker and with the covenant of Israel, it is okay Now in the Old.
Testament, of course, we have all kinds of labels for it, in fact it might bore you in the Old Testament in the ancient text in the Old Testament we have 33 of them the serpent's seed we will explore that one the shepherd idol we will take a look at that one the little horn of Daniel 7 little horn of Daniel 8 we will not take time with those the prince who will come we have already talked about that one the willful king let's take a look at him in a minute the New Testament has 13 of these, the beast, the first beast from Revelation 13 is well known, the second beast that we tend to call the false prophet, the Antichrist is not something he uses, but all of us who write books use it wrong. in it the Antichrist Antichrist is a term that John uses in a different context, but John in writing the Revelation does not use that label, but he is still called the wicked one in the writings of Paul and the man of sin in the writings of Paul and Jesus himself says that he is the one who comes in his own name so righteous the son of perdition is something else than Paul there are three different titles that Paul used only in one letter we know that he is an intellectual genius we know that he is a persuasive speaker we know that he will be a very astute politician a financial genius a forceful military leader a powerful organizer all of this can be found simply that's what makes it difficult to summarize there is so much visibility in the text about his career but his physical description is only in one place that I can find and that is in Zechariah 11:17 "woe to the idol shepherd who leaves the flock, the sword will be on his arm and on his right eye his arm will be cleansed and his right eye will be completely darkened" there are some of us who infer - we don't know - infer that this could be a vestige of his head wound which we know we see throughout the Scriptures mentioning his head wound Revelation 13:3 "I saw one of his heads as if wounded in death and his wound mortal was healed and everyone marveled at the beast" his mortal wound was healed Again in chapter 13 he exercised all the power speaking of the second type "he exercised all the power of the first beast before him caused the earth and those in it she dwells to worship the first beast whose deadly wound was healed" which is used again as the identity of him "does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven to the earth in the sight of men" and goes In this doer of miracles there is a so-called false prophet who is making everyone worship the first beast, but the first type is identified by his head wound: "He deceives those who live on the earth through those miracles that he performed ". the power to do before the eyes of the beast" He is a miracle worker, they were not ready for that saying to the inhabitants of the earth that they should make an image to the beast that had the sword wound and dwelt there again The head wound is an element of identity of that first leader, what must be recognized here is that there are two: a political leader, the first beast, and the false prophet who forces the worship of the first beast, okay. , okay.
Now, is he a Jew or a Gentile? There are kinds of arguments that some believe he will be a Jew, that's Ezekiel 21 and 28 because it alludes to circumcision and there are several other places in John, when Jesus himself. in his comment it is in Greek in his text and the Greek and another will come in his own name the word other in Greek is allos not heteros in Greek you have two different ones too if you want allos which means one exactly the same type if you want one that is similar but not exactly the same, you use straights if I ask I want another pencil in Greek could you say if I wanted one exactly the same as the one I just had or what a different different colorsomething if I say all I want one exactly the same if I want something I wanted a pencil but a different type one that doesn't have a broken tip or whatever I will use heterosWell, Jesus is using in John 5:43 he uses allos or the text does and that implies that he would be Jewish and will also be received by Israel, that is another argument that advances that he is probably Jewish.
There are others who argue that he. I'll be gentle because he appears to be a Roman prince of some sort in Daniel 9:26,27, but hey look, all those arguments are empty for another reason, there are two types, not one. How does that fit in? Different scholars have different speculations but let's get to the bottom of this here too another of its titles is the seed of the serpent in Genesis 3:15 God declares war on Satan and he says I will put enmity between (speaking to Satan) I will put enmity between you and the woman between your seed and her seed and she will bruise your head and you will bruise her heel.
From this verse we learn a lot. The word seed, by the way, is Zera, which is like sowing. offspring manly semen refers to imply descendants posterity children that is what we use that term to mean and from this verse then the seed of the woman becomes a title of the Messiah one of his titles is the seed of the woman and that is how it is used in the Bible in several places and that is well understood. I think most of you have already encountered that in your studies, but what is often overlooked is that another seed is mentioned, the serpent seed.
Wow, does that mean this guy is just a man of Satan or is there a genealogist? link of some kind I don't know, but that's what would be implied, okay? Now there's an interesting passage in Revelation 12, one of these wonderful summary passages that covers a broad spectrum of what's happening here in Revelation 12 and it says, "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of 12 stars and when she was pregnant she cried with labor pains and pain to give birth" and will give birth to a male child.
Now there are people who try to make the woman the church, and if she It is the woman, she is in trouble because she is pregnant, okay, she is going to give birth, the church did not give birth to the man child that Israel did give birth to. The woman is Israel in the sense that she began with Eve and. We don't have to speculate about this woman who is dressed with the sun, the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of 12 stars, there are all kinds of people who like to speculate that Matt Sir Rolfe, what have you done, Wait a minute, wait a minute?
No need, none other than Jacob himself explains it to us in Genesis 37. He recognizes that the idioms here refer to him and Israel, him, his mother and her. offspring He interprets that for you, so there is no need to speculate, the text is about that itself. Then she suffers labor pains to be delivered and continues: "And another wonder appeared in heaven:

behold

, a great red dragon having 7 heads, 10 horns and 7 crowns." on their heads" you don't have to guess about this because in verse 9 he tells you he's talking about Satan "and his tail attracted a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth" and by the way That also solved a mystery for me.
I've been really worried because I found these verses that say that all the stars in the sky fall to the earth. If you know anything about the stars, that just doesn't work. No, the stars in the sky are idioms for angels. It is an idiom for angels, it is clear "...his tail attracted a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be handed over to devour her son so as soon as he was born" and you can do a study of your Bible to notice how Satan is able to focus his attack.
When he first starts from Genesis 3 on, he picks on Abel and Cane and all that when God starts to make it clear that will work through Abraham Satan can aim his targets at Abraham, since God makes it clear that it will be through David, he can focus his attack on David. You can study your Bible in terms of how much information Satan has by then and how he uses it. against the target, the more God reveals, the more focused Satan's attack becomes and we can continue with that, we can talk more about that as we go.
We come to verse 5 talking about the woman who gave birth to a man child who would rule all nations with a rod of iron which tells you who we are talking about, that is an identity used in none other than Jesus Christ. Throughout the Scriptures that were used over and over again, She gave birth to a man child who would rule all nations with a rod of iron. Iron the fog rises we understand what she is saying and his son was caught up to God and his throne. Great, most of us jump to the conclusion and it's not wrong that that reverses the ascension.
Well, Israel gave birth to the Messiah and the day comes when he was caught up by God, okay, I think it was G. H. Pember who first suggested the possibility that it could mean more than that. He caught the word snatched there, by the way, in Greek it's harpazo, what does it mean to grab to carry away? strength to seize one's claim with enthusiasm, that is what the word harpazo is about and of course we use it in several other passages. I think it was G.H. Pember the first to suggest the possibility that this man is the body of Christ raptured to God. and his throne idiomatically which could include not only Jesus in the sense of the ascension, but as a figure of speech it can be included in the rapture and, if so, it fits perfectly into the next verse that talks about the tribulation and all that it means .
By the way, between verse 5 and verse 6 is one of the 24 intervals we listed above. In fact, it's number 24 on the list I gave you. So you can play with it on your own, but this brings us now to another topic and that. It is this peculiar chapter called Daniel 11. It is a very interesting chapter that narrates 150 years of war between the Ptolemies and the Seleucids. It is so precise in its description of those 150 years of history that critics have had to insist that Daniel could not have written it. So it had to be added later. It's that precise.
They have a problem with that view because, as part of the translation of the Septuagint that occurred in 285 BC. C., but also from all this we are going to meet a character called Antiochus. Epiphanes Jesus will refer to it, but most people do not realize that it is possible; It is not certain, but it is possible that Titus Vespasian was a descendant of Antiochus Epiphanes and there may be descendants of him today genealogically, we will delve into this a little. A little bit, the summary in Daniel 11 concatenates the series of kings that are surprising, it is an amazing study in itself.
Alexander the Great, during his 13-year rule, conquered most of the known world, his empire reaching as far north as the Danube River and including Asia Minor. Phenicia Egypt, Syria the great empire of Persia and reaching as far east as India incredible incredible achievement of this man Daniel 7, 8 and 11 describe his career and his successors so vividly that it is one of the most notable prophecies in the Bible its four gen --when he dies-- his four generals Lysimachus, Cassander, Ptolemy and Seleucus divide the empire. Now Ptolemy takes the south which includes Egypt and Seleucus takes Syria and all that, so between those two Egypt is caught between two warring generals who abuse it for 150 years.
It is caught between two later tensions Ptolemy to the south and Seleucus to the north the The accuracy of that description is amazing. It was frustrating to have to leave it aside for this presentation because of its colorful people, wives murdering their husbands. The details in it are amazing, but let's move on here. You see, verses 1 and 2 were to summarize the Persian empire, verses 3 and 4, the Greek empire, which is straight from verses 5-35, that's this period of Seleucid rivalry with Ptolemy, okay. Now, from verses 5-20 they are historical Those verses are so precise that they are amazing They are called... we always talk about the silent years between the two testaments many people like to talk there is a story there that is not the Bible that is because they didn't They didn't do their homework, it's in the Bible beforehand.
Those 400 years are detailed in Daniel itself, Daniel 11:5ff. Now, from verses 36-45 in Daniel 11, it is clearly future, what is clearly described has not yet happened between the verses. 21 and 35 is a bit complicated because they seem to have elements of both. So 5 to 20 is historical, 36 to 45 is clearly future and you have a gray area here, which is less sharp and less clear than when you get to 36. -39 is the Willing King and 40-45 the Armageddon scenario, all presented in Daniel 11 and then culminated in Daniel 12, pretty fabulous. In these, in the first 35 verses of Daniel 11, 135 specific prophetic statements have been identified.
So you can go into the comment if you really want to delve into it, it is one of the most fascinating studies you will come across. Well, let's pick up a bit of the history of Gaius Popilius's Roman fleet Lenas sailed from Cyprus to Egypt after an impressive Roman victory over Perseus in Macedonia, near Pydna, south of Thessalonica, the intimidation of the Romans made Antiochus IV, the reigning Seleucid, returned humiliated to Syria. So he's looking for someone to mess with and he's focused on oppressing the Jews and boy, when you look, you'll find that Antiochus III is called Antiochus the Great for reasons that aren't important to us, clearly because our interest is so focused on this character, Antiochus IV, but he is on his way home and the intended humiliation by Rome He is looking for someone to mess with, he actually decides to upset the Jews and it is under his reign that the abomination of desolation takes place.
Jesus will refer to that historically, which is why it is so important to us and you can find the documents for this in second Maccabees and also in Josephus two centuries later, Jesus will predict that this will happen; what happened then will happen again and will require a temple and that is why it is so relevant to our interests Antiochus IV called Epiphanes, which was a popular label in those days his detractors called him Epimanes, which means "the madman" by changing a consonant changes its meaning. What did you do well? He made reading the Torah punishable by death.
He imagines a Jewish culture if you get caught with the Torah. Under the death sentence that he made, he sacrificed a cow on the altar, you can imagine how that happened to a Jew, it went further. He erected an idol to Zeus, the Greek god, in the holy of holies and that was so shocking, it infuriated them. so much so that he precipitated a rebellion. Judas Maccabeus and his five sons were the heroes of that and surprisingly managed to throw off the yoke of the Greek empire. It took them three years, but they actually achieved what is called the Maccabean revolt and ended up re-dedicating the temple on the 25th of Kislev 165 BC.
C., what happened, which happens to be the anniversary of the installation of his idol in the holy of holies, which he did on his birthday. I forgot to mention when he installed the idol, that was the way. he celebrated his birthday Now, when you read your Bible, you come to John 10, there's a little phrase there that you tend to skip because it says "And there was in Jerusalem the feast of dedication and it was winter. Now, if you're a Bible reader normal and well-adjusted reader you would continue reading. If you have attended one of my Bible studies, you are no longer a normal and well-adjusted Bible reader, but I was incredulous because you will wonder why the Holy Spirit wanted you to do it.
I know it was. in Jerusalem on the Feast of the Dedication and it was winter, so you decide to pull out your resources and dig into it. What dedication are we talking about? The Feast of the Dedication means they're dedicating the temple. Okay, that's fair enough. .What holiday? Are we talking about Solomon's temple? No, it turns out that in 1 Kings 8 it was dedicated in the fall, not in winter. Well, you're splitting hairs here. Zerubbabel that was dedicated in spring? I have the verses. There you can consult me when you have the opportunity to do that. What do you discover?
This was winter. There is only one time they dedicated the temple in winter and that was what they celebrated on Hanukkah. Hanukkah is authorized in the Bible. Say well, why? that had to do with anything the Holy Spirit this was his way of drawing your attention to this whole matter of the Maccabean reformation was successful because of the dedication of this what they are talking about here in verse 22 is what the Jews enjoy This day what they call Hanukkah is to celebrate the rededication of the temple as a result of the success of the Maccabean revolt on the 25th of Kislev and if you notice, they are immortalizing the birthday of Antiochus Epiphanes, that is what he did 3 years earlier.
It took him three years to achieve it and so on Let's go back to the time of Christ Vespasian and his son Titus the two subdued Galilee they are very successful they are preparing to attack Jerusalem after the death of Nero Galba was called to become emperor, but he was killed quite quickly after Galba Ortho was made emperor and committed suicide. There is turbulence in Rome after the revolution and political instability. The general command of the Roman-Israeli expedition was called in to restore order. Titus Vespasian it's time to play his cards,He returned to Rome and took power.
He then becomes emperor. General Vespasian is the father of the captain in charge of the gathering troops of the four legions that are preparing to attack Jerusalem and so on. He is the one who remains in charge and once Vespasian takes over and prepares, he tells Titus to finish the job and that is what leads to 70 AD. and all of this happens just a few days before and so it becomes when he is crowned emperor, which makes Titus a prince, by the way, so he is the prince. that will come. We could talk more about all that leads to the abomination of desolation.
I think it's pretty simple. Let's talk a little about something else which is what I call the advent of hybrids. This will take you to Genesis 6. Numbers 13 and Revelation 9, if you're going to delve into this, let's back up a little bit and take a look at Genesis 6, where we're told "it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth , earth and daughters are born to them the sons of God saw the daughters of men who were beautiful and took wives for them from among all those they chose." I want you to notice something that everyone misses the two verses are a single phrase They turn out to be divided into two verses in its King James translation, but it is one prayer.
When men begin to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters are born to them, daughters of all kinds, but the children of God, the Bene HaElohim, that is the term for angels. the daughters of men who were righteous and took rather strange wives from all of whom they chose the sons of God Bene HaElohim and the daughters of men were Benoth Adam daughters of Adam not Seth Adam Well, that's a term for angels, they used like this all over the world. Scriptures and we could spend a lot of time on that, but it goes on in verse 4 and says there were fallen Nephilim.
Nephal is a verb for falling to the earth in those days and also after that, when the sons of God entered into the daughters of men who bore them children, they themselves became the mighty men HaGibborim, that is, those who They were old men of Nephilim renown, this gets into this whole issue of these hybrids, the results of this mischief on the part of the fallen angels and not just there before. Noah, they are the cause of Noah's flood, but he also has a little phrase in there and after that we discover it again in Numbers 13 for various reasons, so Nephilim means the fallen and comes from the Hebrew word nephal for to be. fall be knocked down fall or abandon the leader those who are born are also called the powerful Hercules Atlas these were what in the Greek world would be in the Hebrew word called ha gibborim the powerful or the Nephilim and now, when you translate that into Greek, the word It's gigantis, which sounds like giants, but that's not what it really means, it means earth-born, earth-giga, earth-born, so there's a whole background here that I'm going to touch on. quickly because we want to go to a particular place in fact Noah these are the generations of Noah that is his family tree he was a righteous and perfect man in his generations the word perfect in Hebrew is tamyim it is about a physical defect like a spotless imperfection , intact, Noah had an intact genealogy.
He may have been the only one, but he and his people are untainted by these angelic antics and we even have references to Oiketerion, the abode of the spirit, only twice in the Bible. It is what the angels had undressed in Jude 6 and this alludes to the heavenly body to which we aspire in 2 Corinthians 5:2 In Jude we have this strange confirmation of Genesis, our vision of Genesis 6 is confirmed 3 times in the New Testament, this is one of them, the angels who did not keep their first state but left their own habitation, have reserved it in eternal chains under darkness until the judgment of that great day, even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities in the same way were They gave themselves over to fornication and left. after strange meats they are given as an example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire which is an allusion to the punishment of the angels who were dedicated to this evil and the term Okieterion used again and the same term that Paul uses of what we aspire to "To know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved we have a building of God a house not made of eternal hands in the heavens for this reason we groan fervently wishing to be closed with our house that is from Heaven" the same word oiketerion is used anyway.
So, Let's talk about the post-flood Nephilim, we know that not only did they exist before Noah's flood, there are 4 tribes that Joshua was told to eliminate all men, women and children, and Arba, Anak and their 7 sons who Anakim found in Canaan. Og the king of Bashan Goliath and his four brothers were Anakim but let's cut to the chase when we study Daniel 2 and 7 and all that, we come to this issue of iron mixed with clay and as Daniel explains that vision, he deals directly with this. peculiar idiom of iron mixed with clay in verse 43 of Daniel 2 Daniel says "And while you saw the iron mixed with clay clay" from the vision images, he changes to a personal pronoun "They will be mixed with the seed of men" Note the change in pronoun they will mix with the seed of men now that is a problem both grammatically and biologically because for 'they' it has to be something more than the seed of men or they cannot mix with the seed of men -- only grammatically that implies that they are distinct "And they won't join together, just as iron doesn't mix with clay, so the question is what the heck is on display here with iron mixed with clay.
Dan says they will mix them." themselves with the seed of men, so whatever they are, they are not the seed of men. Well, in our world today that gives us quite a few interesting options. Are they hybrids? Are they nephilim according to Noah's flood? Jesus said that in the days of Noah it will be like this. The coming of the son of man could have included possibly being nephilim or aliens of some kind other than the Vatican and you may be surprised to find that they have trained and knowledgeable astronomical experts running the most sophisticated facilities.
Among the most sophisticated facilities in the field of astronomy in southeastern Arizona, Mount Graham and the Vatican are openly preparing to welcome aliens. And because? Well, we'll let them tell their story. Alright. Now the question is to return to our target. rider, are there prerequisites for its appearance? Well, we get some interesting clues in 2 Thessalonians 2 the 2nd letter to the Thessalonians is probably one of the most important eschatological epistles in the New Testament "We beseech you, brothers, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our reunion with Him, that "Do not be shaken in mind nor be troubled either by spirit or by word or by letter as if they came from us, since the day of Christ is at hand." One of the strange things about the second letter of Thessalonians is Paul's response to a forgery, something was circulating that they thought was from him and he's putting it out there that he's making amends for the confusion caused by that, that's one of the reasons he wrote the letter in the first place and apparently it's a sensible forgery, he says: " Do not let man deceive you in any way because on that day the day of the Lord the day of Christ will not come without the apostasy coming first and that man of sin being revealed, the son of perdition who opposes and exalts himself above all. who is called God or who is worshiped in such a way that like God he sits in the temple of God showing himself as God” Now verse 4 there is an amazing rag or claim or what you have of the white horseman who opposes and exalts himself above everything what is it. called God that includes everything that includes the law that includes fill the blank with whatever you want he is above all of that everything that is above is called God or that is worshiped so that he as God sits in the temple of God showing himself to be God, that's as far as you can go, amazing, that's a great verse, but go on to explain here that the mystery of iniquity already works, only the one who now hinders will enter your old King James version, already you have the term. let is an Old English term meaning to restrict or hinder.
He who hinders will hinder until he is removed from the way and then the wicked will be revealed whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming. In other words, ultimately, of course, the Lord of the Lord Jesus will overcome him, but he... when the obstacles are removed from the way, that is a precondition for the evil one to be revealed. Now, ultimately, it will obviously be dealt with. "Even he who after the work of Satan with all power does signs" and continues, now this is what you have to do here, your challenge: do a very careful exegesis of 2 Thessalonians 2 and because there is a lot of confusion about this, you want to really lean on people who really understand your greek the day of the lord when it will come is a concern the day of the lord or the day of christ that day should not come unless an apostasy comes first so one of the conditions above is Apostasy Now, some experts will tell you that could refer to the rapture, but understand that we are not building our case on that, we don't have to.
There is a clearer answer: clearer. Will there be an apostasy? Absolutely, that's what the letter to Laodicea says. It is about and the 7 letters to the 7 church there is an apostasy first "and he who now restrains himself will stop until he is taken out of the way" and by the grammar and by the details, that is clearly the Holy Spirit in the sense of that resides. in the church the one who restrains it—the one who restrains it will be removed and then that with that—that is a precondition for the man of sin to be revealed critically subtly in the Greek that really helps us unravel that that of the preconditions is for the man for the man of sin that is revealed is so that the one who restrains him can be eliminated, so that enters into a complete study of Who is the one who restrains him?
Is it restricting sin? There is only one thing that has ever restrained sin and that is the Holy Spirit, not the angels, not Michael, they are all there. types of conjectures are not true, they are not true, so that is an area that I recommend that you study carefully. Well, now we've looked at a lot of material here. We have had to summarize Revelation 4, 5 and 6, which we did. We had a deal. at least in part with some of the key parts of Matthew 24, the linchpin of this, of course, is the 70 week prophecy of Daniel 9. We touch on Daniel 11.
Now 2 Thessalonians 2 and we even touch on Genesis 6. Clearly, not It was possible in the time we had to try to make a complete one, you could spend more than an hour on each of them to extract what we have extracted. So I'm assuming that was a review for you or that with your notes you can go back and dig into it, but that leaves another thing we want to talk about a little bit. What will you discover? There are different people who have different expectations about what the white horse is going to deal with Islam. Islam is possible.
Walid Shoebat points out that. in the text of 666 it may be written in Arabic and refer to Islam and it is an interesting possibility, all of Islamic eschatology is an area worthy of study. The Vatican, as I mentioned, are preparing to welcome an alien, their perceptions are astonishing when you get into it, there are the trans humanists who have, they have an agenda that they believe they can achieve immortality in a couple of years, not decades. , in a few years, their agendas and plans are really amazing and the Freemasons, who have their scenario, it's more like, we discovered everything. of Obama's appearances and schedule are being orchestrated by the Freemasons why what is happening there well, fortunately we don't have time for all that, but we did.
We published a collection of 6 different studies on the different expectations of the Antichrist and so that you can consider that as a sequel to this is an addendum, so I suggest that your first step would be to go back to the references that we made to satisfy your understanding of that, but one of the other things you might want to do is take a look at the expectations of these different groups because they're very different in some ways and they're surprisingly similar in others and I'll leave that for your own study. Should we be worried if he is alive today?
Absolutely If you asked me that a hundred years ago, is he alive? Today I would say absolutely because I have this conviction it does not mean that I am right I have this conviction that the entire scenario the entire eschatological scenario has a variable the moment of the Harpazo and I believe that the strategy is to catch Satan by surprise and he does not know when the gun will be fired He's out and he has a short period of time to accomplish whatever he's going to do and I think that's part of the drama that's going on, but the good news is that he's her man.
I must say that he cannot make his appearance until the Harpazo and that is designed to take Satan by surprise and that is why he has a problem for 2000 years, he has had to be prepared for the Harpazo and when it happens he has a window of opportunity, he believes that I Suppose you've always had to have your man backstage and every time he... there's a counter, every timethat someone trusts in the Lord, that accountant is wrong by one, finally arrives at a number that is called the fullness of the Gentiles. When complete, Fr. He will tell the Son to go get him, even the Son doesn't do it all the time, by the way, in Mark 13:32 we all know the verse from Matthew "No one knows the day or the hour, but the angels in heaven." but only the father" the verse from Mark from the same verse has a difference no one knows the day or the hour or the angels in heaven or the Son but the Father only a very strange verse There will come a day when the Father will tell the Son go look for him and that is what he longs for.
It baffles me to think that the Lord Jesus has an unsatisfied longing and longing if he does, he mentions it in John 17, his longing is to have us with him and he is waiting for the Father to tell him go look for him in which they have the Harpazo which is a precondition according to 2 Thessalonians that now opens the door for Satan to achieve whatever he is trying to achieve and he has a strategy he believes he can thwart God's plan by persecuting the believing Jews, not the Jews in. general, to the Jews who are messianic, so they will be objective but they will be sealed and there is a whole series of studies behind that you can go into in case we are worried at all because the Harpazo has not done it until the occurs.
Harpazo, this rider of the white horse will not appear, he does not appear. until Jesus opens the first seal of the seventh sealed book, he cannot open the seventh sealed book until he receives the book and receives the book after being worshiped by the 24 elders, the identity of those 24 elders is fundamental to all of us . We can take comfort in knowing that the good news is that we have more time to repair our report cards, we don't have to worry about the identity of the Antichrist, others will, but we won't, because we will see it from the beginning. mezzanine and with that let us bow our hearts for a word of prayer Father, we thank you for what you are, we are astonished to recognize the lengths to which you have gone to enlighten us about what pleases you and what you want us to do.
I ask you, Father, that with the Holy Spirit and your word you illuminate more and more clearly what you want from us in the days to come so that we can grow in the grace and knowledge of our coming king so that we can be more and more effective and pleasing to his eyes as we surrender ourselves into your hands in his most holy name. Amen.
