tree lid as well, so the first thing I'm going to do here is I'm going to go ahead and glue this to the bottom of one of these baskets and now I'm just using a little bit of hot glue on the bottom of that lid.

If you wanted, you could even make a gold version. I think it would look great depending on your decorating style, but what I wanted to do was go ahead and paint this matte black and I'm using this Krylon spray paint and one thing that we really liked in today's video, these pieces can really go together. with a lot of different center styles depending on how you decorate them and the rest of the decor, so what I'm doing here is using this book ring as a handle and then I'm going to wrap it in this polished hemp to give it a modern boho filling, I guess you could say and I think this lantern would be great with boho, maybe industrial, very modern, I even think if you had a modern farmhouse.

I think this would work really well on that too, so to wrap it I'm just going to stick it in one place and then go ahead and wrap it completely. I didn't paste it anywhere else until I went back to where I started and then I'll go ahead and paste it back there to finish it. All you really need to do is make sure you keep it wrapped tightly and then when you get to where you started, just stick it on the next part, you don't necessarily have to do that, but I think it adds a little bit more character to it, um and then it'll hold these pieces together, so if you really don't mind that you don't have to do this part, but I think it looks cool.

It basically acts as a little hinge here on the back, so it will hold your flashlight in place in its entirety and one piece will allow you to open it. Pick it up and place your candle inside and it also adds a nice little touch on the back here, but you don't necessarily have to have that here and that's really all there is to this project. We are painting these two baskets with the craft. box lid and then we'll add the book ring on top and then the polishing tamper there and then also on the baskets as a little hinge and then you can put a candle inside here that one's a little small so I'm done .

Using a little bit larger one, as you can see here, this project is a ceramic barn dupe that I saw on their website for a hundred dollars and I thought, yeah, no, I'm going to dupe it for less than two dollars, so I grabbed this. Succulent pot from Dollar Tree and then this cardboard box from Dollar Tree as well and I'll just use it on the lid. I put some hot glue around the lid and then placed the succulent pot on top to make sure it was in the center. and then this is all you need to do the porch and I painted it all with this Krylon matte black spray paint.
When I spray painted it I noticed that the spray paint didn't stick very well to the cardboard lid so I just went in with some spray paint that I had on hand and then once I did that and let it dry , I went in with another coat of spray paint and it covered everything very, very well instead of putting succulents in, which you can do, I decided. to put a candle in and then just this bead garland that we have on hand for this project, we're going to use this tall gift box that we received over the holidays and we never ended up using it for any projects during that time and I thought it would be fun to create a very modern planter simple and minimalist here and I just sprayed it with that matte black spray paint once again.
Now these are some dollar tree plants that you can use and then these are some that we got from Michael's. This usually comes with a big long stem and I think it was originally like 14 but we got it for 70 off so there are a couple of options here you can definitely use the dollar tree one but we I like it whenever we can find good deals. Better greenery will simply take your dollar tree projects to the next level. The dollar tree came out with the cutest faces, they are somewhat asymmetrical, they look handmade, which I love and I am trying this new technique I have. seen everywhere on Tiktok and on Instagram so what I'm doing is having this white paint but I wanted more of a cream color so I added a little bit of brown to it so this is the actual technique I'm adding to the bake. powder, I've seen some people make baking soda and you'll just add it to your paint and give it a really cool texture.
Mine made it a little thicker, almost chalky pink, and it gave it this really cool texture and it ends up making your piece look like it was handmade, which I loved and it was perfect for this piece and made it look like it was of anthropology or western elm for this project that we are going to do. Be creating a pair of candle holders or candelabras for succulents. There are a lot of different things you could use them for, but I've seen some similar items like Pottery Barn and Anthropology, so the first thing we'll do is take our first moment. minwax american dye and go ahead and dye these three boxes.
Now these are two of those little decorative craft boxes from Dollar Tree. We're using one of the outside pieces and then two of the inside pieces and then we're going to use two of these plastic bowls also from Dollar Tree, I think they come as a six pack and then we're going to go ahead and spray paint them matte black. Once we've stained them and then painted them, we can start putting them together and what we're going to do. What we need to do is take the bowls and glue them on top, but first we want to make our tallest piece and we'll use two of the smaller boxes and we'll just glue one on top of the other and then after that dries, go ahead and place our bowls black ones on top of that and also our shorter box so one thing you could do is if you had a little glass or metal bowl like this that you could put in here you could then create your own candle maybe take an existing one melt it and place it here to fill the space a little better where they are plastic and we paint them with spray.
I wouldn't recommend doing that, so I'll just use a small candle. that we got from Walmart to go in there, so it doesn't fill the space like I would like, but I think it works pretty well for what we're trying to accomplish here and then for the other one, I'm just putting some of these white tree stones in. dollar and a succulent there too and then this is the little candle I'm talking about. I think it looks pretty cool, but if you had a glass or metal one, you could do the whole custom thing. candle and I think it would look a little better thanks for watching guys we hope you enjoyed today's video if you want to see more
