This helps identify who is a civilian

cadet

Do you like using the OCB? Definitely yes, although it's definitely a little hot because it's the winter version of the ocp. I definitely enjoy it a lot more than the service uniform. Why well, the Dune uniform is a bit? a little stiff we have a lot of shirts under this and it sinks the shoulders down it's not that comfortable we like to call them our pajamas because they are very comfortable and if you're really tired after class you can take a nap in these so in on the left shoulder we will have the unit patch, so for this example we have Delta Company and on the right shoulder will be the typically small flag here, the red one, the big red flag. um, it is composed of the ocp winter blouse and the ocp bottom.

These are pretty comfortable ocp pants, pretty breathable for the most part, except during the hot, humid months in Charleston, do you ever get used to that or is that something that's always difficult, you know? At first, when I first came out, I was cooking in this thing, but you know, I would say you develop a kind of tolerance and you get used to it and you just press and suck it in. and these are the coyote brown boots we wear with the OCP uniform. Do you like using those? You are not specifically. I use Oakleys. These are a little heavier.
These are what the school can give you if you show up without boots. All but most people prefer to buy their own versions that are a little more breathable and a little lighter. This is Dooney's uniform. This is our work suit. Basically, if you have a task to do or official

business

, you would use this one. It's made up of. of the gray dress shirt, we would iron the sides, you would iron the sides with permanent flow making sure they have a nice crease and you would iron the collar to make sure they really drape and stay flush with the rest. of your uniform, so when I initially arrived I had absolutely no ironing skills, but definitely one thing you learn here is just the process of rinsing and repeating that skill, so I'd like to say that I'm pretty much an ironing expert now. this uniform I can get one of these out in probably 30 minutes you normally wear this uniform on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the academic week and our service pants here with the black stripe down the middle are cotton but they're not really breathable with all the humidity in Charleston is not the best so this is our cover for the service uniform so here on the left side of the cover we will have the rank and if you are a first year cadet or a soldier you will have nothing there , the target.
The stripe on top represents that you are an upper-class cadet, as opposed to the all-black shell that represents a first-year cadet. Can you show me how this is warm? Then you use two fingers to measure the length at the top and that's how If you wear the holster with a guy uniform, when it's really windy, it will blow away very easily, so you'll usually see cadets grabbing it in the wind, but Other than that, it does a good job of staying there somehow. Yesterday a senior had a kind of sideways tilt that some people like to do, what is it about?
Well, depending on the company, sometimes there are different ways to use it, so you'll probably see that little slant of the cover if you're like an employee or of Victor Company. I see a lot of Victor Company cadets wearing it that way these days, but that's not how you're supposed to wear it, so the black epaulets on the shoulders represent you as a cadet. officer if you are a senior then if you are a senior and you have rank you are amazing officer cadet and you will wear these um tell me about this belt so our belt is made of black straps and then a brass belt that when you as a freshman year, you get it, you're responsible for sandblasting it and then shining it with sandpaper and Blue Magic was Blue Magic so blue magic is our little shiny polish that we use to get rid of all that moisture that builds up on the top. of the brass

every

morning and I usually shine my belt probably two or three times a day just to make sure it stays nice and clean.
These are our black dress shoes. At first cadets will generally use the baits and once they really learn that. They are really very hard to shine, they will go to the floor shines and those are the ones I am currently using so I like to shine them every night and then polish them every morning with my PT shorts so that you can give them a shine, you put the polish on for about 30 minutes of effort and then in the morning you will take them. I personally take my PT shorts and polish them to a nice shine and that will help. for the rest of the day this is the summer leave uniform uh it has two blue shoulder pads and it has the duty pants that I mentioned before you normally wear this on the sheet and it's in the name and during the summer or hotter weather days and It is designated by the commanders department whether we will use this or not, so the release is for certain open weekends, if we are not doing an SMI or have no training for that week, we will be released to go to Charleston. or you know, coming home to see our parents and usually that will start around Friday night after your last

military

service until Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
What is SMI? So, SMI means Saturday Morning Inspection, so what's it like for you when you go out? in Charleston using your summer vacation, how does that feel to you? What kind of reactions does it generate? There's definitely a feeling of pride in your institution when you behave and just wearing the uniform makes you behave differently, maybe it's Maybe it's the shirt, you know, it brings your back up a little bit and shredded and I think people see you. in a different light, maybe it's a reaction to the way you carry yourself, but I think that uniform definitely has a reaction or effect on that, some things you'll see if you wear a subtle uniform is getting paid for food to buy a loan or you'll get some booze and whistles, it really depends on the day, but other than that, you know.
It's an honor to use this. These are the same Duty pants that we wear in the service uniform with the black stripe down the middle. This is the white Garrison cover worn with our summer vacation and our white uniform as well as our dress. Salt and Pepper Uniform I think it has a good aesthetic. It fits the head very well. It's definitely one of our best looking covers we have access to on the Wind floor. Yes, actually surprisingly very good, this is the white uniform. It's made up of the same shoulder pads as the summer licenses and has these brass buttons that you can pop off and Blitz and Shine.
It also has our South Carolina pins and if you are awarded gold stars you can place them in this area. right here and it's also made up of our same white dress pants. Normally you would wear this uniform to formal events, like if you were called to the President's office, you would wear this or to the Chapel for the final march in Marion Square. I would wear this uniform to be sworn in as a first year cadet, so it definitely has a lot of meaning to this uniform, I mean it's very bright, go on with these buttons, right, yeah, this uniform actually takes quite a while to put together.
All in all, I would say which is probably just The Shining if you include all the cuirass and debris plate attached to it, probably a good solid 15 minutes of shiny brass if you do a good job, feel comfortable? This is my favorite uniform by far. I think it's very breathable, it's probably the most breathable of all our uniforms, it's probably the most aesthetically pleasing and in my opinion it really stands out and really represents the land well, in my opinion this is the first component of our dress, sal and pepper as you can see it is full wool it is very heavy we normally wear this during the winter months of the academic year and just one thing to note on the sleeves after completing each year a stripe is added so once you are a senior you will have three stripes in this and as you can see this is a first year cadet.
This is a great parade uniform that we use especially for awards parades that will use salt and pepper. I mean, I don't really wear this uniform. very often but when we do it it definitely looks great and I really enjoy this uniform just because it has the combination of keeping you warm on top and then the bottom is a little more breathable with the white dress pants this is the salt . to the pepper back to the dress white pants the same pants really breathable very comfortable so for salt and pepper we also used this white cover from Garrison this is the gray uniform of the dress so it's the same blouse as salt and pepper except that the pants are full wool I think I can accurately represent the rest of this hill and say that this is probably our least favorite uniform simply because we live in Charleston and it's very humid and very hot almost all year round, so the world it does. great job insulating all that heat and keeping us nice and toasty, especially during those parades.
This is the black Garrison cover that we wear with the gray uniform during Cadre period and challenge week. Kadri will also wear this cover with the service uniform. like white gloves that just add to the aesthetic and the professionalism of the whole uniform and some of the uniforms that you'll see in this video you'll see this red sash here and this just represents a sword with a cadet on it so if that's a senior NCO , being a first sergeant or even just an officer, they will wear them for any dress uniform specifically. I like to wear the red sash.
I think it adds to the aesthetic of the uniform. It gets a little sweaty around the waist when you're wearing it, but other than that it really adds a lot of color and vibrancy, so yes, I like wearing the girdle. We have the dress uniform, this is the most formal of all the uniforms we have. You will only use this one. Usually for the big events of the year, like the President's Inspection or the Long Gray Line, as you can see again, these are first year cadets, there is no rank, but normally you would see a senior cadet. rank or simply in a rank holder. the stripes are here for the sophomore and the rest of the stripes are for the juniors and seniors here in this area and it was also paired with the white dress pants.
I enjoy wearing this uniform. I think it really represents this little guy. Well it looks really nice, it's a little warm on top but only because it's made of wool but it's easy to use uh no it doesn't require any shine from the brass so it's not really necessary. It takes a lot of time to put together, so I enjoy wearing this uniform, this is the Shaco and this is the Pom-Pom and if you are a student ofLast year with rank you will wear the plume so the location of the strap on the Shaker is very important, so if it falls below your nose, it means that you are in command, it means that you are about to give orders specifically on parade and if falls below or right on the chin, it means you are listening or drinking. commands, that is the meaning of our strap location.
I'm not a big fan of this hat simply because of how tall it is and the way it sits on your head, but I understand that there is a lot of cultural significance. to the ground and that's why they keep it close as you just saw that those are the eight primary uniforms that we wear at the Citadel. I mean, ultimately it comes down to the cadet himself. The goal of this school is to learn self-discipline, so if your uniform looks bad, it's your responsibility and it's your fault.
